5/20/26 ~ this is my second time here and I ordered the Biscoff Cookie Crumble Latte and Banana Coffee Cake I ordered it my first time here and it tastes just as amazing (if not more) as the first time. My first time I visited, they disclaimed yes they are on the sweeter side of coffee shops, but they can always make your drinks stronger or sweeter however you like. The owners are very kind, welcoming, and helpful when introducing and explaining the menu. I know I should eventually branch out and try different flavored drinks and pastries but I'm stuck on how complimentary the espresso and sweet cookie crumble are and the not too sweet but perfectlyyyy sweet that banana coffee cake is :)

Schoolhouse Classic & Cinnamon Bun Cakes and Flat White

This is a great little coffee shop / bakery! The shop has a cool vibe, at first we were saying it is like being in the club but that's not right. It's more like being in the VIP room at the club where everybody is chill and you can relax and have a good time :) We both ordered Flat Whites which were good and the perfect drinking temp. Not burning hot like some shops make. Don't get me wrong they were nice and hot just not "well I gotta wait 20 minutes to drink this" hot. LOL But for me the star is the cakes!! I LOVE good coffee cakes and these were as good as it gets! Nice big slices that are fresh and moist. I had the Schoolhouse Classic (which is the LAUSD Coffee Cake... if you know you know!) and it was delicious!!! My Son had the Cinnamon Bun Cake that was also great. Since everything was so good I got a slice of Buttermilk cake to take home :) Everyone was friendly and the shop is super clean, no crumbs on the table here. Coffee Cakes is in a strip mall so there was plenty of parking. Can't wait to come back and try more cakes :)

Needed a pick-me-up with extra ether! Oh, and their coffee cakes are so good!

We absolutely love this coffee shop. I've been so many times. The owners are so nice and so is all the staff. We have had their coffee cakes at event we gave and sold out completely! Free parking, music inside they will wake you up and get you going for the day!

Iced coffee cake latte

So I have to thank TikTok for putting me on to this coffee shop. I went on a Saturday morning , it was pretty chill. I love the vibe of the coffee shop & and the good music playing. So I ordered the fan favorite iced coffee cake latte & vanilla walnut coffee cake 10/10 for both The latte was strong in flavor not just the coffee cake flavor but coffee also. There was also a lot of option for coffees and lattes. The vanilla coffee cake was light and flavorful and tasty. They also have a blueberry coffee cake that I'd like to go back and try. So it is a little pricey I think it 17 dollars. But 100 percent worth it . I think it's always worth it to spend the extra dollar for local businesses but to each its own. Will definitely be coming back tho

Cookie butter latte/biscoff latte

This spot is located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking. I've been on a cookie butter/Biscoff cookie latte hunt and this one by far reigns supreme if you're in the Long Beach area. That is exactly what I ordered a cookie butter latte. Coffee was strong, and you could still taste the cookie butter flavors, which also comes with cookie butter crumbles on the top. What else can I say? It was a perfect blend and balance of espresso and that cookie butter/Biscoff cookie flavor that Ive been looking for. The ambience was nice too. I recommend.

Lavender Latte and Mocha Crumble coffee cake

Take out | $1-10 Found my new favorite local coffee shop!! I've been here a handful of times now and I'm never disappointed in service or the drinks. My favorite drink is the iced lavender latte and I've always tried a couple different coffee cakes....so good!!! I live across the street and I'm so glad there's a good coffee place without me having to drive to cerritos or Bixby. Artwork inside is also amazing and playlist is always . Give them a try. Shop small. Shop local LB!

I live nowhere near Lakewood and discovered this place in my yearly tamale hunt that led me to Lakewood. Kinda mad at Yelp for leading me to such a good place that is so far away. Hit this place up on a Saturday following its very high Yelp rating. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu and the barista kept leading me to the cookie butter latte but I wasn't swayed. I always try a banana latte if they have one and I also went with a safe choice - an horchata latte. I had both iced and with oat milk. This was the best banana latte I have had to date. If you've ever had one, you know they are a hit or miss because the syrup can have a chemical like taste to it. This latte left me wanting another one when I went for my final tamale haul. As for the horchata latte, it did not disappoint but the star was the banana latte. As the menu provides many options, take your time researching your drink so you don't feel overwhelmed like me. I did not have any of the pastries. I went back two weeks later when I picked up my Christmas tamales and the baristas had called out so the owner was making the drinks. While his aesthetic touch to the drinks was on point, surprisingly, his baristas made better drinks. I'm not deducting any stars for that but I will say I was disappointed my drinks weren't as great. So, sir, protect those baristas at all costs because they make some damn delicious drinks. If I'm ever back out that way, I will definitely pop back in and hope the regular baristas are on bar. This gem is in a small stip mall and parking is ample. As you can see from the pictures, the inside is very cute and that little coffee sign pictured is just too adorable. Of note, this place was voted as the best coffee place in Lakewood (the owner pointed this out). Highly recommend that if you live near this place, you get your fix here.

Seats

Walking in, the place is really nice -- clean, artsy, and filled with artwork and paintings of rappers, which is a cool touch. Seating-wise, though, this spot is definitely for parties of two. There are no big tables, and only one table that seats four, so it's not ideal for groups. The workers weren't super talkative, and I did have to ask what coffee cake they recommended, but once I did... solid suggestion. We tried the peanut butter coffee cake, and WOW. I've never had coffee cake with peanut butter before, and both my boyfriend and I loved it. The worker said it was their favorite -- and honestly, they have great taste. One note: if you eat coffee cake without a drink nearby, you might choke but that's honestly true for all coffee cake. I ordered the Biscoff cookie iced latte. At first, it tasted more like caramel than Biscoff -- not gonna lie. Still really good though. And the longer it sat, the more Biscoff flavor came through, so I fully take back my initial complaint. My boyfriend got the coffee cake iced latte, which I think tastes like the crumbly topping on coffee cake. His review: "I don't know what it tastes like, but it's really good." Fair enough. Both drinks have a strong coffee-forward taste, with the flavors more in the background -- which means it will definitely wake you up. Overall: great coffee cake, strong coffee, cool vibe. Just don't come with a big group and maybe expect a more low-key service experience.

I almost forgot the pic, so yes, a quarter of the drink is gone, but this is the coffee cake late

This morning we woke up and jumped on Yelp looking for a new black owned coffee cafe to try. We have only been on the Cali scene for a few months, but find a 2 for 1 coffee spot have been hit or mess. What do I mean by 2 for 1? Great food/coffee and experience. Today, I think we found it. We drove 20 minutes for this experience and it was worth it. Seriously, if you're looking for a cozy little place to grab coffee and a treat, this is it! I tried their coffee cake iced latte and the minty white mocha hot both were absolutely delicious. Try all of the cakes. I don't think you can go wrong with your choice. The slices are massive. Okay, now that I've acknowledged the food lets discuss the service because the service is hella important to me. The owners run the show and the service was top-notch and felt super personable. Don't be in a hurry, great barista skills takes time. You should definitely check it out if you're in the area. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed morning or mid day pick-me-up. Thank you guys for a great kick start to our day. See you again, soon.

If you're looking for a delicious sweet treat this is the place for you. I got the coffee cake latte and it was a great way to start my Sunday. These drinks are very sweet but not to the point of being too over powering. Would recommend if you are craving a sweet treat.

Wanted to love this spot, but the value just isn't there. We ordered a 16oz Coffee Cake Latte and a 16oz Chocolate & Strawberry Horchata Latte. Total came out to nearly $17, which is pretty steep. Unfortunately, both drinks missed the mark for us because they were overwhelmingly sweet. If you prefer a strong coffee flavor over pure sugar, or if you're looking for a good price-to-size ratio, you might want to look elsewhere.

Food: 10/10 their food/snack is very good, especially the coffee cakes. Perhaps the most important is their coffee which they have a lot of variety, they even have babycinnos for kids! Service: 10/10 your greeted with a very friendly and warm vibe. Service is fast. Ambiance: 10/10 I would say this place is very empowering they have a lot of framed items on the wall that has very great quotes from different people. Ambiance is relaxing and chill. This is my first time eating a coffee shop, but the experience here is very good. This is a little hidden gem.

We got the banana bread and Banana latte!!!!! So rich and creamy! Service was amazing too and accommodating. Ambiance was hip-hop and R&B is come here for coffee and work definitely!

Also the person who made mine did not do the best job and it was pretty sloppy and not very aesthetic. C'mon you can make it neater than this crooked ice cream cone. 5/10 Cost - $9.12 ok this is WAY too over priced. It should be priced at around $7.50 - $8.50 MAX. Trust me, I know the market value of this. I have tried 3 other matcha soft serve spots in the SoCal region in the past couple months.

The monster oreo shake was delicious but it is not worth it for that price. The ube flan cupcake was just ube cupcake and flan stack on top. It kinds of lacking the cohesiveness. Overall, I would come back just for that tea.

I can't have them from anywhere else because these hit the spot so hard that no one can compete. I personally have not tried anything else, but my kids have enjoyed other treats from this place. They are located in Cerritos at a very busy shopping plaza and there's plenty of parking. I didn't expect the bakery to be an actual restaurant. There was a good crowd, sitting at tables and eating and drinking. They have about a dozen different flavors of macaroons. You can't go wrong with any of them, but my top favorite are the Birthday, Fruity Pebble, Horchata, Cappuccino and Ferrero Rocher. They make nice gifts too, as they can put it in a treat box in an ice brown paper bag. I definitely need to come back and try their drinks and something else from their menu.

They charge an extra dollar to substitute oat milk, so I kept the regular milk. My son got the cappuccino cake, and I chose the ricotta pistachio cake. The pistachio cake was a little dry -- not terrible, but noticeable. However, my hot salted caramel latte was actually very good and paired really well with the dessert. The music and atmosphere were nice, and there were only a few patrons inside, which made it feel relaxed. However, there were a couple of dirty plates left sitting on tables while one employee seemed more focused on organizing napkins instead of clearing them. I also wasn't too sure how fresh the cakes were since they had been sitting in the display. Whether I come back really depends on the flavor and quality of the food and drinks next time around.
