I'm so happy that I gave Coffee Cakes a shot! After seeing their mouthwatering coffee cakes online, I decided to pay this place a visit, and every aspect of my experience was great. The coffee shop is aesthetically pleasing and has a chill, welcoming vibe. The gentleman who helped me that day was incredibly informative and friendly. He recommended the banana coffee cake, and it did not disappoint! I also tried their Coffee Cake Latte. Since I didn't want caramel syrup, he suggested substituting it with white chocolate syrup, which paired wonderfully with the latte. The coffee cake itself was mouthwatering and absolutely delicious! I loved how moist the cake was, and it had the perfect amount of sweetness for me. I'd definitely come back to try more of their coffee cake flavors. Overall, I highly recommend Coffee Cakes to anyone looking for a new coffee shop to check out!

If you like specialty coffee drinks this is your place. They have some many flavor options along with bake goods. The drinks are on the sweeter side . The space is warm and they play great music . Check them out

Good caffeinated, sugary vibes Coffee Cakes is a recent addition to this plaza, which I used to frequent when there was a DVD Rental shop (remember those?) located there. I was in the mood for a cafe latte, so stopped by post-lunch. Biscoff Crumble Cookie Latte - One of Coffee Cakes' most popular items, and I can verify as to why. Silky smooth, decadently sweet, the Biscoff Crumble Cookie Latte hit the spot after a heavy meal. The cookie crumbles provided texture, and each sip was silky refreshment. Service was good. The young woman behind the counter was friendly, and quick to offer recommendations. A fair amount of indoor seating, the atmosphere has an Old School R & B and Rap motif, with many murals of iconic figures. Parking is via a shared private lot, with Coffee Cakes adjacent to Boot Barn. Coffee Cakes is an excellent new cafe in the area, incorporating quality ingredients, fresh takes & a cool setting. I look forward to coming back, trying out a new drink and perhaps one of their enticing pastries they have to offer. Highly recommend!

This is a great little coffee shop / bakery! The shop has a cool vibe, at first we were saying it is like being in the club but that's not right. It's more like being in the VIP room at the club where everybody is chill and you can relax and have a good time :) We both ordered Flat Whites which were good and the perfect drinking temp. Not burning hot like some shops make. Don't get me wrong they were nice and hot just not "well I gotta wait 20 minutes to drink this" hot. LOL But for me the star is the cakes!! I LOVE good coffee cakes and these were as good as it gets! Nice big slices that are fresh and moist. I had the Schoolhouse Classic (which is the LAUSD Coffee Cake... if you know you know!) and it was delicious!!! My Son had the Cinnamon Bun Cake that was also great. Since everything was so good I got a slice of Buttermilk cake to take home :) Everyone was friendly and the shop is super clean, no crumbs on the table here. Coffee Cakes is in a strip mall so there was plenty of parking. Can't wait to come back and try more cakes :)

This is my 4th time coming to this coffee shop and let me tell you it's a vibe. From the music and ambiance, to the customer service. The coffee is quite delicious and they offer different types of dairy and non dairy selection to add to your drink. The flavors of coffee are superb the biscoff and the banana are my favorites. If you are in the area stop by and grab you a drink and a coffee cake (warmed) yummy.

Love it! Been wanting to stop in and really glad I did! Friendly, fast, professional. Large dining area to sit or work in. Aesthetic is nice and chill. Good espresso drinks. Lots of other menu options, like refreshers with cold foam.

Needed a pick-me-up with extra ether! Oh, and their coffee cakes are so good!

Ambiance 9/10 Service 10/10 Food 10/10 Ok enough with the ratings. Let's get to what you want to hear!Who needs that school cafeteria coffee cake? Say less! It's here! Moist, flavorful and a variety! Pull up! The matcha(my favorite flavor) latte was smooth and not too sweet. Just get over there and give your favorite coffee shop a rest.

So I have to thank TikTok for putting me on to this coffee shop. I went on a Saturday morning , it was pretty chill. I love the vibe of the coffee shop & and the good music playing. So I ordered the fan favorite iced coffee cake latte & vanilla walnut coffee cake 10/10 for both The latte was strong in flavor not just the coffee cake flavor but coffee also. There was also a lot of option for coffees and lattes. The vanilla coffee cake was light and flavorful and tasty. They also have a blueberry coffee cake that I'd like to go back and try. So it is a little pricey I think it 17 dollars. But 100 percent worth it . I think it's always worth it to spend the extra dollar for local businesses but to each its own. Will definitely be coming back tho

This spot is located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking. I've been on a cookie butter/Biscoff cookie latte hunt and this one by far reigns supreme if you're in the Long Beach area. That is exactly what I ordered a cookie butter latte. Coffee was strong, and you could still taste the cookie butter flavors, which also comes with cookie butter crumbles on the top. What else can I say? It was a perfect blend and balance of espresso and that cookie butter/Biscoff cookie flavor that Ive been looking for. The ambience was nice too. I recommend.

Parking is not as bad as I thought it was going to be. As I walked in the lady in a green sweatshirt that was at the register that day walked away. So that was not a good start. A young lady helped me and was really sweet. I left a small tip and she actually thanked me. Most places don't even acknowledge it. I ordered the biscoff late. The lid was a little inconvenient because when I pushed on the top to take a drink the cold foam splattered on me. The coffee itself was pretty good. The coffee taste was mild, I would prefer a little stronger. Overall it was good. The place is cute and I would rather help a mom and pop coffee shop than a cooperative coffee shop.

Coffee Cakes is one of those hole-in-the-wall coffee shops I'd driven past countless times without stopping. After seeing their Cookie Butter Latte online, I finally decided to check it out, and I'm glad I did. Parking was easy, there wasn't much of a line, and the shop itself has a really fun, modern aesthetic. The atmosphere is inviting and has a lot of personality. Service was quick, and ordering was straightforward. Since it was my first visit, I appreciated that they clearly highlight their best-selling drinks, which makes choosing something easy. That said, I do think there's an opportunity to elevate the experience even more. With such a unique brand and vibe, I'd love to see the team engage a little more by offering recommendations or talking through their favorites. Matching the energy of the space with more personalized service would make the experience even more memorable. I went with the Cookie Butter Latte (of course, since that caught my eye!), and while it was good, it leaned a little too milky for my taste. The cookie butter flavor itself was delicious and not overly sweet, but I would've loved a stronger coffee flavor to balance it out. Overall, it's a great spot with a cool atmosphere, efficient service, and plenty of drinks I'd still like to try. I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

As part of my "75 Whimsy Summer," I've been making a point to visit more local mom-and-pop coffee shops, and today I stumbled across Coffee Cakes. What a delightful surprise. The moment I walked in, I knew I had found something special. A kind gentleman held the door open as I arrived, a local artist was painting beautiful faces on a mural, and the music set the perfect mood. The artwork throughout the shop was stunning, the aroma was heavenly, and I was greeted immediately by a warm and welcoming staff. I ordered the Biscoff Crumble Cookie Latte and a sinful slice of buttermilk coffee cake. The latte was cool, sweet, and drizzled with Biscoff cookie crumble and caramel. Absolutely divine. The coffee cake was rich, buttery, and every bit as heavenly as it sounds. What I loved most, though, was the atmosphere. I sat for a while, sipping my latte and simply watching people come and go. It felt cozy, creative, and full of heart--the kind of place that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. If you're in the Lakewood area, do yourself a favor and stop in. It was easily one of the highlights of my day, and I'll definitely be back.

For drinks, I ordered the sweet corn cream matcha ($7) and my friend ordered the ube matcha latte ($6). We both asked for oat milk sub and it was an additional $1. Both drinks had just the right amount of sweetness but the matcha flavor itself was missing for me. I did slightly prefer the corn over the matcha. The drinks were iced but we received them warm and even after waiting for the ice to melt, the drink never got cold and maybe that is what created some kind of lack of taste for me. Overall it's a good place to get some work done, but the matchas wouldn't be my first choice, I'll probably try a coffee the next time.
