The inexperience shows immediately with the service but they are trying so hard with warm smiles that you don't mind . The desert case in front is old school diner style and totally welcoming. I was eager to try this place considering the investment made here and was pleasantly surprised. The soup and salad bar was clean ,crisp and very satisfying. I seen that maybe it had opened up again after the virus and did some research to see if I want to take a chance. What I found is disgusting. There is a health inspection report available and at a score of 58% and some of the violations I seen I don't think I'll be trying it any time soon. If you like eating in a place where no one wears gloves to prep or make food while smoking cigarettes and where the plumbing and septic system is not cleaned or properly working or where food is not being stored in refrigerators that maintain proper temperatures than this is the gem for you. Nice and clean. Great Salad Bar. First time there. Great service. I ordered crab cakes. Worst crab cakes I ever had!!! Too much breading and they had some real crab but they supplemented with imitation crab meat! That is a NO in making crab cakes. I will go back but I will never order crab cakes again. And, do not order the pulled pork and Mac and cheese panini. It was tasteless and dry. French fries were not so good. I suggest getting salad bar: they have fresh lettuce, veggies and prepared salad . Along with peel and eat shrimp and chicken wings. Soup was awful though . Solid old skool diner, with a huge menu - lots of choices and options. I love the people that work here, they are all awesome. It seemed like a family run joint, but I could be wrong............The food is pretty decent. I had the salad bar, which comes with choice of three soups. They are always cleaning the salad bar, it is one of the nicest ones I have ever eaten at. Typical choices for salad and toppings. If you have the time, the peel and eat shrimp are on the salad bar. Second day of there grand opening we stopped by to eat. Large menu with many varieties of food to choose from. This place is super clean it was built from the ground up. Everything is new. Overall okay environment, went there midnight after work so didn't expect a great atmosphere. A guy with an accent who's apparently in charge sat me and was not professional (assuming that he's a manager or a supervisor). I've been in casual dining industry for years on back AND front of the house so I do have a quite a bit of knowledge about the business, service and food. Server was nice, but that's about it. Can tell that she barely has any experience and was not trained/guided properly by the managers. Got a shake, chicken wing and Leesport burger, how did everything taste? They're edible. That's it. You could easily tell they spent most of their time and focus on the re-innovation and re-decoration of the building... but the service and food can definitely use some improvement as well. read more

Not a big fan. Went there with my sister for breakfast. I ordered steak and eggs with home fries. Home fries and eggs were OK, but the steak was cold. Waitress did offer to have a new one made, but it wasn't worth it. I'll try the diner again some other time. read more

Awesome. My servers name was Hannah and she was phenomenal. She was very friendly and would joke around with us which I think is great. The manager also made it a point to introduce himself and make sure if we had any problems to come to him. I went at 9:00 pm and there was still a lot of people on staff so there was no worry of having to wait on anything. The establishment itself was very nice. They layout was interesting and appealing. Everything was very clean. The bathrooms were kept clean as well. The food was great. No complaints there. It didn't take long at all to get our food and drinks after we order. You get what you pay for. Me and two other guys went there and our bill was very reasonable for the amount of food we were given. I was very pleased with my experience. Very poor management. I went there with my 77 year old mother and she ordered the chicken with rice pilaf. After 2 bites she started choking on the rice. She tried to drink water to get the rice out of her throat and unfortunately she spit it back up on her plate. The waitress saw her and brought her more napkins. Fortunately after some time she was able to completely clear her throat. The waitress said let me speak with my manager T.J. about removing the charge for her meal because she didn't eat anything . She came back and said he wouldn't remove it, nor did he bother to check to make sure she was ok. Will never return to this diner. read more

We were a soccer team with parents (party of 21) coming in for an in between games meal. The host apologized and said he probably could not seat us all together. We were fine with that and hunkered down for a long wait. About 10 minutes later the host came out and said he was ready for us. We went in and the boys had their own table by the window and the parents shared two adjacent tables nearby. The staff at the Leesport Diner were professional, courteous, and didn't freak out when faced with a bunch of stinky boys. The food came quickly. It was hot and delicious. We were cared for like we were regulars. There was no problem with separate checks, the boys each got their own check and we put them together with the correct parent. Easy Peasy. This place continues to decline with each chance I give it. From start to finish, from the RUDE host who walked in front of me and cut me off while I was walking to the door with my cane and didn't excuse himself, to his cluelessness of placing elderly people in a room full of kids while the rest of the place was empty to the wretched kitchen staff that ONCE AGAIN punished me for daring to order hash browns well done so instead hardboiled my sunny side up eggs and dried out the toast under the heat lamps, it was miserable, and not cheap. The only redeeming quality in the whole place was the very nice waitress who apologized for the kitchen's extreme reluctance to serve food the way I ordered it. This is a huge disappointment for such a beautiful building and the community who waited so long for a restaurant in this community. For a diner experience, I definitely give this five stars. The parking lot was packed and the line was long, but our six person party was seated in ten minutes. The diner was extremely clean and nice! Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Everyone at the table ordered a coffee and an ice water and she went out of her way to bring the coffee first, take our order, then bring the water so that our food could come out faster for us. There was not a moment that my glass of water or coffee was not kept full for me. My food was delicious and everyone else's looked great too. I noticed that the French toast actually had fresh berries on it too. Overall, I would definitely recommend going here if you're just looking for a diner breakfast. We took our parents there Sunday for 1:00 lunch. Nice place. Newer decor, nicely done. Food was good, inexpensive family style prices, but good food. Nice soup and salad bar, a lot to offer. When I was told I couldn't, I of course questioned it, and explained that they would be throwing out good food. Went here with a friend very late one evening. As we chatted with the staff we were told that the diner had been under new management since 2015. The place was very clean and well lit & there was plenty of seating. We ordered an appetizer of firecracker shrimp (popcorn shrimp in a spicy boom boom sauce), there were plenty of shrimp in the basket. Our late dinner was a hot turkey sandwich with cream of potato soup and mashed potatoes with gravy for my friend and a California hamburger with fries and stuffing instead of a soup for myself. The portions were generous and the food was very good. My hamburger was cooked just as requested with lots of lettuce onions etc. When we were finished we couldn't eat any of the fantastic looking deserts so we took some to go. The hubby and I go on our "road trips" with our grandson pretty frequently. After being disappointed several times at other restaurants we decided to try Leesport. So glad we did. Very reasonable prices, clean and very welcoming and staff is very pleasant and friendly. Food met and exceeded our expectations. Great salad bar but not your usual. This was not my first time to Leesport Diner. I've had good experiences prior to covid mess. My concern is the lack of compliance of CDC requirements. Employees wore masks but no gloves. Condiments left on tables, menus not sanitized between uses, not all customers wearing masks. I have been to other diners who took covid more seriously. read more

Food is good , service is excellent, only one trip allowed to the salad bar now. But your waitress will bring you soup if you want it. Owner TJ does not pay his waitresses their pay on time. I've also heard that money given for tips to the waitresses they never see cuz TJ Pockets it. I've also heard he's very rude to his servers. read more

We had diner there. Food wasn't bad. Service was good but we bought dessert to take home....bad choice. I got an eclair which the pudding was spoiled and my husband got a piece of chocolate cake which was stale. It cost $9.01 for two desserts what a rip off. I called to let them know. They did offer to give me a free dessert if I go there again tomorrow when they get there fresh desserts. I was very disappointed with the "fresh" fruit platter that came with cottage cheese and jello. The jello was runny because it was too warm and the cottage cheese wasn't very cold. The fruit was terrible and disappointing because the fruits are in season now and should have tasted good....the watermelon, cantaloupe and melon were hard and had no flavor. I told the cashier when we paid our bill that my meal was not very good and why. Have been going here for months for breakfast. Food was good and service friendly. Until today. I unfortunately must say I have no intention of returning here. I asked for a breakfast ham and cheese on toasted bagel. Well needless to say if I wanted lunch meat on my sandwich and pay $10 for it I would have made it myself at home. The waitress knew what I was asking for, so on the 3rd trip back from the kitchen, the "Manager" came out with my sandwich along with the rude and arrogant attitude. He interrupted me 3 times when I attempted to explain what I was ordering. He said that is what they have and if I can find it somewhere else then go for it. He then refused to remove it from the check despite the fact that I didn't touch the sandwich, he stated that it was what I ordered and they didn't make any mistakes so NO he wasn't taking it off the check. I rated it 1 star and wish there was a zero. First veal cutlet was so greasy I used multiple napkins to try and soak up the grease. Cut into it and grease still oozed out. Tried to eat and just couldn't. Waiter was really nice and reordered the Crab Cake. Took a while however when finally served it looked great but it was luke/warm to cold. Food manager came over and said there was nothing wrong with my meals and basically called me a liar. I'll never go back there again and they do not deserve a 1. This is hands down the best diner around. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We decided to get a little bit of everything to try. Salad bar was extremely fresh and had an awesome selection. Italian wedding soup and mozzarella sticks were excellent. For entrees we got the fried chicken and Sante fe burger. The chicken was hand breaded and fried to perfection, paired with creamy fresh made potatoes. The burger was juicy and succulent, with the freshest guacamole I've ever had. The bacon was cooked beautifully, crunchy with juice still dripping. All of the toppings were fresh and delicious. We also got a small side of the homemade Mac and cheese. First time here. Could very well be my last. We got 3 "no's" from the waitress in the first minute of our conversation. Asked if there was a kids menu and her reply was "how old his he?" I was like seriously, my wife orders off the kids menu without an issue. Are you gonna ID him. No shouldn't be on your list of acceptable words at a new place of business. My wife wanted to upgrade her soup to French onion and you can't do that. It's full price if you want that, can't just pay the difference.
