This is to update my earlier critical review. The complaint was regarding service and not the food, which always been consistently good. After some back and forth with the very affable owner, Dave, I am now convinced that he and his restaurant sincerely cares about customer service and that the incident in question was an abberation. Understanding the COVID restrictions we went recently and sat outside. We entered to order and there was a bit of a wait because cashier was having conversation with patron at register. We ordered and paid including 15% tip. Food was delivered with no utensils or condiments. We asked for these and "waitress" said we need Ed to go inside and ask cashier. As you can imagine the line was long. No one would give me condiments till I got to front of line with people ordering. Finally got what I needed and headed back to table where my family asked what took so long, and my food was cold. Go to Grumpy's. Better food, better service, similar prices. I don't know why we keep giving Lefty's another chance. Go elsewhere, anywhere else! read more

Monkey fries! Holy s@$t, monkey fries! Think of slices of potatoes about a quarter of an inch think, fried, covered in spicy fry seasoning love and you have the monkey fries. Their regular fries are tasty and are hand cut but they have nothing on the monkies! Burgers come on local baked bread, kind of like a French loaf, with special burger sauce. So tasty, order extra for your monkey fries and be prepared to hit sensory overload! Sit on the deck which has a beautiful view of the mountains. Happiness in burger land! read more

Best 'locals' bar in town. They have plenty of beer and a fantastic outdoor deck. Not exactly fine dining but good bar and grill food. My favorite is the Kobe Burger with potato salad. Sure the monkeys are killer especially with fry sauce, but that potato salad is made on site and amazing! Great staff, but be prepared to wait if it's busy! Here's to you Gonzalo! read more

There is no better place to get drunk on a Sunday from 10:55am - 5:00pm (my usual hours) to watch the football games. The staff seems to enjoy/tolerate that I'm a Bears fan and that I frequently "Bear Blast" the whole bar...even when the Bears aren't even playing. You guys need to get 90 Schillings back in...immediately. Great patio to chill on. read more

This place isn't a normal sit down restaurant. We sat ourselves, got our own menu and then went up to the counter to order our food. The food was great and is family friendly. The bar is separated somewhat from where we're sitting and there were a few arcades to keep the kids busy. I'd eat here again. read more

I hate to give a negative review, and I rarely do, but I hope my experience was either unusual, or will lead to improvements. First, I was so encouraged by the feel of place. It's very welcoming, unassuming, a little gritty but clean, a fun sort of place. The sign outside offered the day's special, "Elk Burger." I walked in with my family of 4 adults and a toddler and knew exactly what I wanted. We found a seat and proceeded to order at the counter, a good beer selection. I had the elk burger, the rest of the adults had various burgers, all ordered either medium well or well done. The beers came right out and were cold and tasty. The burgers came out quickly, too. One was acceptably done, the others were not pink, but raw and bloody inside. So we sent them back. My son, whose burger happened to be well done, said about me, "If he's sending it back, it's really not edible." The fries, however were really good. A few minutes later, two burgers came back supposedly well done, with the original fries, now cold, and really, they weren't done either. One member of our party asked for a refund on her burger, the other managed to eat part of hers. My elk burger somehow got lost in the confusion, so I went back up to ask about it. I was handed another, with fresh fries, but the meat was cooked medium rare at best. It was acceptable, but not what I had asked for. We left a handsome tip which we had already done when we placed the order. No one seemed particularly surprised or apologetic about our experience. There was some mention of the grill being hard to judge, but Wendy's seems to have figured it out, so an established restaurant should be able to as well. The place was not crowded, so time wasn't an issue. It's a shame we had a bad experience. I'd have been glad to have written a glowing recommendation. read more

This place ROCKS! I've been going to Sun Valley to ski with my family since I was two, and Lefty's has always been a key stop while on vacation. The secret to their success is threefold. 1) Good solid grill food (monkey fries may give you heartburn) 2) locals (notice the custom glass mugs suspended from the ceiling) who will shoot you the stinkeye unless you recognize your place and 3) BIG BUCK Hunter. What is Big Buck Hunter you may ask? It's a red-state video game where you go to different places around North America like Abilene, GA....Minatawnka, MN to shoot bucks. Can anything else be so satisfying as triple-bucking a round of BBH, having a pint of Moose Drool and watching football at Lefty's? read more

Lefty's has a nice laid back feel with food at affordable prices. My only trouble with this place was the brunette woman who took my order. She asked what I wanted and as I tried to answer I was interrupted 5 or 6 times because she was carrying on a conversation with a guy at the bar. Then had to repeatedly ask me questions about my order cause she hadn't listened. Quite frustrating. But alas, the most important thing is that our food was simply amazing. Kobe burger was delicious and juicy and a steal for under $8! Monkey fries are spicy crispy goodness. read more

This place is just straight up awesome sauce. Great price for great food. One of the best wings I have ever had- and yes I've been to Buffalo Wild Wings. That's really saying something. Lefty's has been around for quite a while. It looks like a typical ski bar with TV's, beer, games and Pool Tables. The food (Burger and Fries) was really good....and comparatively cheap to everything else in Ketchum. This is not a white table cloth kind of place, but a locals bar full of mostly guys who are glad to talk about skiing on Mt Baldy with you. Plenty of really cool Ski Memorabilia in the place. We were directed to this place for a "good burger". It is more of a dive bar and bar food. The burger was a pre-made (pretty sure frozen) patty that was dry and overcooked. I had the bison burger and my husband had the 1/3 lb burger. Both were not good. Go next door to Sawtooth Brewery, their burger was amazing. read more

Ordered 1/3 and 1/2 # burgers. Really good - cooked medium - great griddle flavor. Bread was a grilled hoagie - nice choice to hold burger and the fixings together. We came in at a busy time and ordered quickly and received food quickly. Hand cut fries - pass. They would be better off with a frozen fry. Not much flavor and very limp texture. Onion rings were good. Should have ordered the monkey fries and messed up and did not. Next time. Service was very quick and cordial. Casual place with friendly patrons. read more

Great burgers and homemade fries. The order process involves going inside and placing order at counter, getting your drinks paying then finding your seat inside or outside. They deliver your order calling out your name. Outside seating can be a little smokey from the kitchen depending on which way the wind blows. But overall great burgers and fast service. read more

My boyfriend and I were in town for a job interview and were staying at the Bellevue our first night in town. On the way back to our hotel, we were hungry and saw this place served food. We came inside and ordered drinks and some snacks and planned on heading back to sleep soon. That's when some crazy dude came and sat next to me and kept hassling me. My boyfriend and I weren't trying to get into any sort of conflict having never been here before and being here for a job interview. Thankfully, the bartended noticed our discomfort and had him kicked out. A few minutes later, the same guy came back and was at it again and another worker came and kicked him out and told him the cops would be called if he returned. Our experience here would have been completely normal and fine if not for this dude, but I was happy that the staff helped us out and kept us safe. I would stop by again, as it seems this isn't a normal occurrence in this bar. read more

If this is the best burger in Ketchum, then all the rest must be inedible. I had the elk burger, medium rare - which apparently means sticking a frozen patty on the grill so the outside burns and that the inside is mostly cold and raw. The bread was the Safeway French loaf. Terrible customer service, the man behind the cash register was so rude. Seemed to be in a huge rush and there wasn't even a line. Even told us to speak up in a very rude way, I guess the very loud music and background noise is leaving him deaf. My burger and fries were yummy, but I don't plan on coming back. This is an old fashion bar and grill that seems popular with the locals. The food was great all the way around. The chili soup was thick and very tasty. The french dip was flavoral and the "train wreck" was a great sub-style sandwich. Nice selection of beer. A great place to stop when in Ketchum. read more

For $7.25 we got a fish and chip basket with 4 pieces of fish, they hit the spot as a great after skiing bite! They have cheep pitchers of cheep beer and a hand full of great micro brews from the North west on tap. We went there a couple of times and had great experiences with the people eating/drinking there both times. Great local vibe, and super friendly people were hanging out there when we were there.
