While it's always exciting to get into another car, I hate car shopping. After 14 years and 217k miles, my MB C320 was starting to show her age, and so it was time to go on the hunt. I did a LOT of online research: Many sites, dealerships, private sellers . . . sent out quite a few emails. One of the quickest responders was Dee Yeo w/Leif Johson Ford on Koenig Ln. She discussed the car I'd inquired about, as well as some other vehicles she felt I might like. 2 days later my wife and I popped into the dealership unexpectedly. It is NOT a fancy place . . . and at first I was like, "uh, maybe let's check out one of the other dealerships . . ." However, once we met with Dee in person she got right to it. She showed us 4 cars, we test drove 2, she gave us great information, pulled whatever data we needed, and even helped the F&I guy beat our bank's interest rate through another lender! We left that afternoon in new-to-us car. Aside from the make-ready time (which we used to go get some dinner) we were there all of an hour . . . What a great experience. If you go, talk to Dee. I purchased my FJ Cruiser last week through Stephanie with financing handled by Ryan. It was my first time to finance a vehicle on my own and everything was done with the utmost respect for my time and budget. I have just put 3,500 miles on the truck -- LA and back to Austin for business; zero issues. Stephanie even checked in with me to see how the trip was going at one point, who does that? I have the best warranty I've ever had as an added bonus. This my experience on the used car side of things. TL;DR - just scroll the the bottom: - My wife and daughter test drove a Cruze and liked it; however, they wanted to see other cars at carmax. They liked the Cruze so my wife called the sales rep that I would be coming in the next morning to purchase as I was working late. This was done through text at 7PM. - I arrive at 10:30AM the next day, and after some delay the manager says the car is gone. I asked why they didn't tell me, and they said they didn't know themselves until just now and I should have put a deposit on it. My wife or I would have done so if they told us. Since I was already there I agreed to look at similar priced cars. - My daughter liked the Fusion, but since she test drove the Cruze the day before and they had one at a nearby Ford dealership they agreed to drive it over - 15-20mins. After an hour the car finally shows, and we agree to buy the Fusion. - My wife and the salesman agreed they would honor the $1k+ over carmax trade-in, which they also have a sign stating. After waiting yet another hour, the same manager comes by saying he won't honor the 1K+ because he's losing money. I remind him the salesman agreed and the sign actually says so, and then he said that only applies to more expensive cars and he personally didn't agree (?). I figured this was the cause of the delay and while waiting found a similar car 2k cheaper at carmax, so he said to go there. I asked for the title and keys back, but unfortunately my search was at the wrong carmax, and since my day was already ruined I didn't want to spend the rest of it tracking down another Fusion so I just did the deal. - Now over to finance - usual extended warranty hustle I declined. I was paying cash and had a check. He wouldn't take the check or a credit/debit card and asked if I had a cashier's check, which of course I wouldn't have since I just now knew the final total. The only solution for me was for the saleman's to drive with me to my bank to obtain the cashier's check. I agreed, and at the end no "Thanks for your business" or "Hey congrats on the car" but me saying essentially "Ok, so we're done?". Then we did the awkward drive to the bank and handed over the check. In every other car purchase they either took a check or verified the money in my account. I could have shown him a screenshot of my bank account or could have run my credit - very strange. To be fair the car is good and at a fair price, and I liked the salesman. However, the whole experience was that of those shady used car dealers with the inflatable King Kong in the front, as I couldn't take anything any of them said at face value. You can find a good car there, but just make sure to set your expectations on the experience accordingly. read more

I've been a LJF customer for about four months now, and so far I'm pleased. The Sales experience was pretty decent - no high pressure, no sleazy guy following me around shucking and jiving. Of course, my wife had done exhaustive research prior to our going to the dealer, so we knew exactly which truck, and how much we were willing to pay. Our salesperson was Melissa Martin and she was great. Calm, smart, funny and patient. I brought the truck in today for its first service maintenance, and scheduling on line was super easy. I had a question which I attached to my online service appointment request, and got an email response from Kegan very promptly, with specific answers to my questions. I told Kegan today I was very happy he emailed me and that LJF actually seems to use their online tools effectively. Car buying is often stressful and expensive, but if my short experience with LJF is indicative of what's to come, I'll be a happy customer for a long time. read more

I am really going to enjoy writing this review. I recently retired after 50+ years in business and spending most of my time in customer relations. I have also bought quite a few vehicles in those years. This was without a doubt the most pleasant and most professional experience buying a car that I have EVER had! I dealt primarily with Sayed Mousavi. I told him exactly what I wanted in detail and he went to work. Not only did he locate the truck I wanted, he drove to another of their locations, picked it up, had it detailed, walked me through the paperwork process (easy), then delivered it to my home the next day at a time that accommodated my schedule. He even filled the 36g tank. He was an impressive young man and obviously enjoys his job. He also spent about 30 minutes walking me through all the bells and whistles my new truck possesses. He was very through, professional, polite friendly and knowledgeable. If the rest of the Leif Johnson staff are anything like Sayed, you can't go wrong doing business with them. read more

This is my first review for a car dealership....I'm writing this in hopes to save some others from wasting their time, or getting gamed and played. Yesterday I went in to test drive a truck. The guy that took on the drive was awesome, he was a real dude, and genuine...I respected that man. HOWEVER....the way MANAGEMENT runs this place is where it all goes down hill. I was ready to purchase a truck for the advertised price I found online. We agreed to it and all seemed set to go. Then, since I'm paying cash they said I had to pay 25% more than that amount!!! That 25% included some maintenance package and lo jack etc. But from the beginning I told them I didn't need anything like that because I was shipping this car to another location. He said if I financed the car I could get a slightly lower price, but I didn't want to do that. I wanted to pay cash and be done with it. So after about 2 hours I left the place and knew I was never coming back......unless of course y'all read this and want to offer the truck for the price you had originally offered it at! Don't get baited in to this dealership....it will probably be a waste of your time. read more

Ernesto Espinosa was our salesman, and he was great. He seemed happy to help, but he was not pushy or drowning us in sales pitches. He was well dressed, well spoken, and just a top notch salesman. I would buy from him again. Felician, out on the lot, was fantastic, too! He was willing to help, very knowledgeable, and a pleasure to talk to. He seemed so professional, yet so at ease. I think he really found his calling. The only negative I had at all was the guy who was supposed to meet us at 8:00am (they open at 8:30) didn't make it in, and we ended up having to work with whoever showed up first. That was ok, though, because Ernesto was great. Lastly, the finance guy, Gabriel Baer. He is the main reason we came to this dealership. He reached out to us, eager and willing to help in any way he could. He was down to earth, worked with our busy schedules, and had a can do attitude. We drove about an hour and a half to be able to buy a car the Koenig location, and we live less than 5 mins from another dealership in Hutto. The customer service was SO WORTH IT. This place is hell on earth. I'm currently 2 hours and 27 minutes into my INSPECTION. Literally, just your basic Texas state inspection... should take 15 min for someone productive to do this, 30 min for a fat lazy guy. This is absolutely insane. The people who work here are below incompetent and no one knows what's going on. One nice employee, Phillip. This guy needs a raise as he's a hard worker and constantly running around the store. He made me happy to bring my car here when I checked in but those feelings QUICKLY faded when I found out what this place was made of. Spare yourselves. read more

I scheduled an appointment on a Thursday for some noise problems with my car. The earliest I could get in was 9 am the following Tuesday. I called to confirm that the dealership had shuttle service so I could leave the car and head to work. I arrived on time, and had filled out all of my information online, but I was asked to give it all to the service rep, again. He was nice enough, I left my car and headed to the very worn out waiting area. After waiting for 45 minutes, someone came in and wrote the next shuttle departure on a white board was at 10:30 am. I had a meeting at my office and couldn't wait so I spent $12 on uber to get to work by 11. Then after several calls around mid-day, I was finally informed around 2:15 pm that I couldn't get my car fixed that day because the technician was covered up and had not had a chance to make an assessment. I was told that I could rent a car for $45 per day from the dealership so I would have transportation and they could examine my car on Wednesday, but the rental would not be comped by them. I asked to speak to the Service manager who informed me that their problem was essentially my problem. If I didn't have a service plan, a rental would not be covered. Because they don't have sufficient workers to service cars on the day I set an appointment, renting a car is my added expense and problem. I spent another $13 to take uber back to the dealership and recover my car. The service rep explained to me that the tech drove my car but didn't hear any noises. Either the tech is not qualified or the rep is lying. Took my car to a fantastic Ford dealer while traveling to another state over the Memorial Day holiday. They identified the problem within 5 minutes and had it fixed that day. No more noise. And the other dealership was new, clean and friendly. The worst experience, being that I am military and I'm constantly moving and deploying. I bought a Ford Raptor; at the time of purchase there was an issue with the truck doors. I asked them to fix it, they stated they would I set up 2 appointments which they failed to keep. The doors had this loud squeaking sounds. Apparently the back door latch was bent; they failed to replace and help me during that time I moved to California, when I got to California I left for a year overseas. I tried to get it fixed at a local Ford and they stated it would be 500 dollars to fix. I contact the this location and they said there is nothing they can do; without hesitation; instead of them assisting me the guy "David" was rude about it. Pretty much said change it myself. Unorganized team with no idea what the customer experience should look like. I've been trying to get a fleet vehicle for two weeks. Ron Lawyer, the "manager" in the department, is the most unorganized member of a management team I have ever experienced. His desk is full of loose paperwork, checks, stacks of contracts, piles of keys, etc. He doesn't return emails or messages left with the receptionist, and has no understanding of time management. I was finally able to establish contact with him and set up an appointment, when I arrived, he "didn't recall" making an appointment I've been trying to make for two weeks. It's been over an hour of me waiting for someone to locate my vehicle, and I'm still left standing in the bland, lackluster dealership that smells a bit like mold and motor oil mixed together. Shame on this dealership, and the poor service provided to its customers. As I have been observing for the last hour, I have not seen anything but chatter among the employees, with no one greeting anyone at the door. Someone save this place or close it down! read more

To say I dislike this place is an understatement. 1.) Every time I come here I stand around waiting while personnel appear to be "busy." I wait until someone finally asks if I'm waiting for something (like I'm putting them out). 2.) Salesmen always try to push things on me to buy. 3.) Service (just an oil change on one occasion and a state inspection on the other) took HOURS. That is NOT okay to wait 3+ hours for either of those. 4.) No one was apologetic or even remotely personable. 5.) There's no customer parking. 6.) I saw a service employee move a car and, as he stepped out of it, opened his door into the car next to him. My number one complaint is that they installed my inspection sticker SO CROOKED. It's nearly at a 45 degree angle. I hate going here and only have because it's the closest dealership to me. The salesman that I spoke to Arman Torabi wouldn't let me test drive ANY cars until I had money for a down payment!! In the world of hilarious irony, I once secretly mocked my ex when he had to buy new Pirelli runflats for his car. See, I've always known that Pirellis are significantly higher priced than most other tires because they are of a higher performance grade. Well it came time for the Rickster (my 'Stang) to get new shoes and I ended up here. Well hahaha the joke was on me because I've always known Ricky to have "all season tires" as my friend who owns the dealership I bought him brand new from told me. It's a Michigan thing to have All-season tires. Regardless, imagine my surprise when I found out my Rickster too had been driving around on Pirellis.... and I had to get new ones.... and all season ones... ouch. I've been going to Leif Johnson Ford for all of my service needs since I moved to Austin and Paul Ward has always been courteous and on top of things for me. So understandably I came to him as well. I was also having new brakes put on, brake fluid flush, power steering fluid flush, oil change, air filter change, fuel filter change, nitrogen tires, and a fuel injection service. This was going to be a painful day for the wallet. Luckily for me Paul found my tires for cheaper from a discount tire company and was able to have them price matched here, whoo hoo! So, after talking to me about my new tires, Paul also mentioned the Road Hazard warranty that the dealership offered. Essentially it came out to $16/tire and covered all patching for 3 years. In the event the tire couldn't be patched it would be replaced with a new one... FOR FREE. Well I was sold. Last year I somehow ran over three nails and had to get three tires patched and each patching was $16 each so this deal was self explanatory. Well flash to this past Sunday. After waking up from a monstrous night of drinking to celebrate my birthday two days early I emerged into the scorching sunshine to try to get Pho to make me somewhat resemble a human being. I get in my car and my low tire pressure warning goes off. I get out and investigate only to find one of my tires is flat... WHAT THE HECK. So at this point I am fighting this hangover and I have to call Ford Roadside Assistance to put on my spare. They come promptly and we discover that I somehow ran over a razor blade somewhere... yes you read that correctly. Somehow on my way home the previous afternoon, I ran over a razor blade, broke off a chunk, and now that chunk was embedded in my tire after making a 4.5 inch gash in my tire right in the center tread. Well luckily Paul sold me on that Road Hazard warranty because I walked out with a new tire free of charge. Paul handled all of the claim work and made sure my car was all set as soon as possible. Moral of the story? Road Hazard warranty is worth buying and for all your Ford needs stop by here! read more

Professional thieves. After spending $600 with them three weeks before, my car started stalling when idle. I took it back and they told me that they'd need $653 + tax for a new PCV hose and a carbon cleanout ($98/hr labor@ 6 hours). I called Yost Automotive and they quoted me around $200 for the same thing ($25 for labor, flat). Leif Johnson came back with a "deal" of $293 for the same job. I told them no, and they replied that they were worried about it, and would replace the hose for free (what nice guys!) with a used hose from another vehicle, and that it would only take a couple of minutes (down from 6 hours). I drove straight to Yost, who told me that the hose that they so nicely replaced was the original hose, based on the dirt and clamp-markings. What probably happened was that the hose fell out and they plugged it back in. NEVER EVER take your car here, they will screw you six ways to Sunday! read more

What is amazing they used the same carfacts reprt and mentioned nothing about the previous wreck., Stay away.... On a good note I purchaed a 08 Tahoe LTZ From Round Rock Toyota and as of recent severla things started to fail/ no warranty etc. I emailed the Penske GM and he put me in touch with Jimmy at the Toyota service center. My wife and I purchased a Mazda 5 from a different Leif Johnson location. So far, we've been extremely happy with it. However, the check engine light came on today. My wife contacted this location, to find out if she could bring the car there, or if she had to take it to a Mazda dealership. The car is still under the manufacturer's warranty. She explained this to the dealership, and they told her she could bring it in to them. When she arrived, they tried to charge her a $96 dollar diagnostic fee, even after she explained that it was still under the warranty. They eventually informed her that our car was still under the manufacturer's warranty, and that she should take it to a Mazda dealership. No way! It's not like my wife told them it was still under warranty. Oh, wait... So, Leif Johnson, even though I enjoyed purchasing a vehicle from your other dealership, I will not be visiting this location ever again. read more

Normally I'm a die-hard Toyota fan but after this weekend I've been converted to a Ford man. Finding a car that is comfortable for me to drive is hard because I'm 6'9" ... (yes, I played basketball all the way up until college, no, I don't currently play anymore since I chose music and tech over sports, and yes, the weather is fine up here)!!! My old Toyota Rav 4 was the best car I'd ever had and I honestly didn't want to let it go. We looked at a few other dealerships for options and I got very stressed out with trying to find a vehicle that was big enough but still within our budget... then my wife convinced me to try Ford. I sat in an Escape and was surprised it passed the Tall Man's Leg Room Test. I took it on the highway for a bit and it felt like I was driving on a cloud. This is a really piss poor dealership and one of the worst that I have encountered in my life. I went here for a simple state inspection and the service department was horrible. They had numerous delays and there was no clear update or expectation in when the process would be done. In addition to that you could see that none of the employees cared about your experience. This service was so bad that I am starting to regret that I bought a Ford. I would avoid this dealership's parts (in another building a few blocks away) and service department at all costs. read more

Wow. I don't know why I had the random impulse to check out Leif Johnson here on Yelp, but I did, and I encountered Marina B's review dated 8 April 2010. She took her car in for repair and "they had it for 4 days without even doing anything except hooking it up to a computer to find out nothing was wrong. But since they had my car and wasted their time they were determined to get my money somehow ..." I had the same thing happen to me when I tried to get my car fixed there in 1990! I had a problem with my windshield wipers, they had my car for 4 days and despite daily calls where they assured me they'd "get to it", they never did and when finally I told them "forget it" and took my car elsewhere, they still had the nerve to charge me $50 for a "computer diagnostic". It just kills me to read that 20 years later they're still playing the same game. read more

So I posted my truck on Craigslist with all the photos. He contacts me, and proceeds to say he is interested in my truck. Ask for the vin and info and I proceed to email it to him. He then says, verbatim "It did some research and based on the options on your truck I will be able to offer $8500 to $9500. Now when I get there of course the dressing down of my truck of which all pictures of were posted in the Craigslist ad, begins and I'm now offered $6500 for my truck. THIS IS CALLED "BAIT AND SWITCH". Or his "It" doesn't do his real research. So i'm tired of the truck taking up space in front of the house and I offer him to buy it at $300 more then what he offered. He says the system purged the offer and he wants me to drive it down again for $6500. So still No firm offer. I'm done and this truck looks fine in my front yard until someone wants to buy it. UPDATE: Guess I touched a nerve. Said i'm the one that downplayed my own truck, he's right I did but I'm assuming they saw the ad since in which he contacted me from which spelled out what was wrong. I took a 2010 Ford Escape here for service, on behalf of a friend who bought it here. I didn't have any huge problems, but they surest seemed to do a lot of LITTLE things wrong - starting with the moment I pulled into the service drive. First, no one greeted me when I pulled up. (Don't service writers normally come out to the car?) So I walked in, and nobody greeted me there either. Eventually, someone looked up and offered to help. A minor annoyance, but no big deal. I had an appointment, so we reviewed the 4 relatively simple items that were already on the list. and I gave him the best phone number to reach me. He indicated the vehicle would be done later that day. Then, when I left, the service writer didn't give me any sort of receipt, nor his business card with a phone number. No big deal, until I noticed at the end of the day that I had not received any phone call with status. I called the next morning to check on it, and was asked for the name of my service writer. (Well, he didn't give me a business card or a receipt, so I had no idea.) fortunately, it was easy to look up the vehicle based on the last name. So the receptionist forwarded me to "John," but the phone rang and then rolled to a voicemail for someone NOT named John. So I called back, and this time I was able to speak directly with John. he said they hadn't started on it, but he would check and call me back by noon. 1:45 PM, I still haven't heard back, so I call again. This time he explains that they've been short handed the last 2 days, and that maybe it will be done today, but probably not. (Fortunately I'm not in a hurry, so it's no big deal. Just seems odd that I'm having to do all the work to find out that it's going to be delayed.) They might be a good company, but looks to me like their service department could use a little bit of a shakeup. read more

After being involved in a major car accident which made my 99 Saturn SL2 a "total loss", I was forced to find a new vehicle - and quickly! With a full-time job and being on my own, I was stressed beyond belief and not looking forward to the car buying process. I visited Leif Johnson in hopes I could find a small, four-door car at an affordable price and without hassle - and by the grace of God I was able to! I worked with Amy Sandlin, who I highly encourage you to visit if you are looking for your next vehicle. She walked me through the used car lot and wasn't pushy or overbearing. She let me look at and test drive whichever vehicles peaked my interest, but it wasn't long until I narrowed it down to a 2005 Ford Focus. The car's windshield price, which was already $2000 less than the blue book value was dropping another $1000 the day I was on the lot. Then when Amy and I looked online to pull information on the car, it had dropped another $1000. Without haggling I saved $4000, which was a relief. So far, so good. I felt that the experience I had at Leif Johnson was good and not as stressful as other dealerships I had ventured to. ***Updated Review*** After 4 months, the car they sold us is totally dead. The engine is gone. Apparently their was sludge all over the engine, which their mechanic should have seen when they supposedly inspected and changed the oil in the car when they acquired it. Now we're out a car and a lot of time and money while we attempt to fix the problem. I called Leif Johnson to explain my frustration, and they told me there's nothing they could do. They had the car we wanted at a competitive price, so I thought I would give them a shot. After test driving a few models, we decided to make a purchase. The car we wanted came right off the truck, so it hadn't been detailed/cleaned up yet. This wasn't a concern, the salesman assured me the car would be in immaculate condition by the time we picked it up that evening. I told him "no hurry". I wanted to have it done right. A few hours later they called me and said it was ready. I came by that evening to pick it up. The car had barely been touched. It didn't look much better than when I saw it earlier that day. After expressing my disappointment to our salesman, he said he would send it back through the detail shop while we wait. After waiting another hour, they called me and said it was ready. The car didn't look much better than the first time. At this point I was visibly upset. He made an excuse about the detail team being out, and said I could bring it back for a full detail. Not trying to make waves I agreed. As I jumped in the car, I realized the gas tank was empty. I flagged the salesman down one more time, and let him know. He said they don't normally fill up the tank, but he would make an exception for me this time. Are you kidding me? Every car I've ever bought in my life came with a full tank of gas. After bringing the car in 3 times, the detail was finally done right. I wasted a lot of gas and precious time to get a clean car with a full tank of gas. To make matters worse, they promised us a second set of keys. After 6 weeks, we still don't have them, and don't expect to get them. We haven't received our license plates from the DMV. I'm sure they screwed that up too. So now I have to waste even more time to track down keys and license plates. I'll never buy from these clowns again. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

It's too bad there is a 0 stars option. I never write posts but I felt so compelled to report how ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE my service was here that I just had to. I spent a week getting jerked around on when my car's transmission would be replaced. This company has NO RESPECT for the inconvenience being without a vehicle can be for a working professional. I received absolutely zero help in getting alternative transport, every time I called to talk with anyone I was transferred multiple times and often ended up being hung up on. I spent over $300 in cabs and transportation back and forth to the dealership, home, and work because "your vehicle should be done today" on top of the $2800 transmission part and then.. a total of $3760.. paying almost $1000 for labor that OBVIOUSLY WASN'T GETTING DONE. The technician failed to show up to work the day my car was scheduled, the next day he "didn't get around to it", after that he broke bolts off in my car, and then after that left early 3 days in a row. After over a week of being there.. I'm still waiting to get my vehicle back. I knew I should have bit the bullet and just bought a new car. At least that would have been a lot less hassle and stress and almost the same cost. The only person to even acknowledge my situation was the woman who answered the phone and heard me holding back tears every time I called. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE EVER. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE IN ANY INDUSTRY. The employees are rude, absent minded, and un-engaged. The work is sub par, overpriced, lengthy, and the communication is non-existent. In regards to the service department. Dropped my car off 3 weeks ago (no appointment). Guy who took my car said it would be about 5-6 days to fix and they'd keep me posted. No sweat, I was going to be out of town the following week so I wasn't worried about it. Two weeks go by and no call it updates from the service team. After two and a half weeks, I call in on a Tuesday to check on the status of my car. After being transferred around a couple times, someone finally gets on the line and let's me know the part for my car "just came in this morning," and they would have my car done by the following afternoon. Following afternoon roles around, no one calls (of course). I head to the service shop to pick up my car because the guy I spoke with told me my car would be ready. Waited in the lobby with little to no help from the desk for about 15 minutes until they come out. Of course it's not ready. They don't even have record of me confirming the quote to move forward with the repair (and the guy gives me attitude while he asked me about it). Finally the guy I spoke with on the phone comes out and meekly admits the part for my car HASNT EVEN ARRIVED yet (even though he told me the previous day that it had) and that they wouldn't be able to work on it until the following morning. The overall experience was pretty awful. The staff was rude and treated me with very little respect. Worst Ford service center I've been too and will not be back. read more

This place sucks!!! Worst customer service alway! I have tried to be a loyal client for the last 8 year's but no longer. Theses guy try to keep you there forever and I hear that mainly from women. They have a system where you can make a service appointment but only depend how many people show up appointment or not! I arrived before my scheduled time and was told there were a few cars ahead of me so they had to get to those first regarding have appointments. Hello service department I have a scheduled appointment! After having caused a seen they moved me up . The next time I decide to get there before.they open been the first in line and trying to beat the crowd and what should have taken less than two hours to three because they said they had scheduled appointments...WHAT!!!! I think my service person Sean sucked at his job along with the service manager obviously his buddy! I have defended these guys from other who said they had a bad experience at Leif Johnson Ford but I am now moving on. Obviously they don't care about loyal clients. I went here on New Years Eve and despite the crowd, I felt like I was the only person there because the service was so great. I was immediately greeted when I walked in by three genuine employees. Then, I began to look for a car. I was able to test drive multiple cars with no wait time. When it came time to make a decision, I never felt pressured. Instead, I was shown multiple options and payment plans. I drove out in a beautiful new car! I am giving Leif Johnson Ford's service department 1 star because there is no lower score that I can assign. I had my vehicle in for an oil change, front strut replacement, power steering hose replacement, and a few other minor things. I could have done this work myself but lately have found it a better and more economical use of my time to pay someone else to do the work for me. I figured a Ford dealership would be a good enough place to get my Ford properly serviced. After picking it up I noticed a new sound it was making and inspected the work done by the service department to find the cause. A list of issues found with the vehicle are listed below: * Driver side coil assembly upper mounting bolts were not reinstalled. They were threaded on about 2 turns in order to not lose the nuts. I needed to tighten the nuts down another inch before even reaching hand tight. *Passenger side strut lower mounting bolt appeared to be loose enough to cause movement. *Passenger side strut dust shield had a hole which was not previously there that looked like a tool crushed through it. This was causing noise from metal on metal contact as I drove over bumps in the road. Driver side has similar marring in the same location but was not damaged. *The oil filter they installed was cracked and leaking slowly. *Lower fan shroud was not secured back in its place and was left loose to bounce between the radiator and fan. *Lug nuts were overtightened to the point where movement was felt on the studs while trying to loosen them. One lug nut began to round off when attempting to remove it. I needed to hammer a smaller socket on to remove it. I was lucky that I noticed and was able to make this vehicle safe enough to drive before this work resulted in thousands in damage or even an accident considering the coil assembly was not even secured back into the vehicle. I returned to have them review the issues I found and to replace the parts they damaged that I didn't already replace myself. They seemed desensitized to the problems and I got the impression that this was a common occurrence that they are used to. I was ready to put this in the past and accept the expensive lesson about stealerships and that I should continue to do my repairs myself when I received the standard survey from Ford about my experience. Within 24 hours of clicking the submit button the service manager had called me to discuss the incident. He offered to compensate me for my time and expense in making my vehicle safe to drive again and asked me to take some time to write him an email explaining what happened and what I think would be fair compensation. I did as he requested and 3 weeks have passed without a reply. They called me, asked me to write them a letter, and offered me compensation and then ignored my letter wasting even more of my time. Long story short is that these guys don't seem to respect the time and money of their customers nor do they seem to take pride in a job well done. I will avoid this place in the future for all service and vehicle purchases. It is a shame too because they were almost able to sell me a brand new 2014 Explorer. Instead, I am telling my story about how Leif Johnson did bad work for me and didn't seem to care. read more

WOW, I'm flabbergasted at some of the negative reviews I've read, Leif Johnson must certainly be turning a new Leif/Leaf pun intended because my experience showed nothing but unreserved professionalism in all departments (Finance, Service, Sales, Customer service). If there's a REVIEW TO READ for a most recent experience it would be mine because I got to experience all sides of Leif Johnson's team, half of which was out of their control. I recently purchased a slightly used 2014 Platinum F-250 Superduty before taking off to a job in North Carolina, upon my departure I came to find my "MyKey" (fords new key system) was accidently programed to not exceed over 80mph, I immediately called my sales rep Wadi Haddad (always responsive never missed call/text) who ensured me as soon as I can make it back to the dealership he would have an Admin key made (my key secondary must have admin to override secondary) at no cost. (avg cost new key and program $350) Coming back to Texas a few weeks later and logging 4k miles on the new ride Wadi goes the extra mile to make sure my Truck is fully serviced along with my new Key. The IMMACULATE CUSTOMER SERVICE does not stop here. Wadi being the FIGHT FOR THE BUYER salesman he is granted my request upon purchase of the vehicle to swap my oversized rim/wheel package from old to new truck as part of the deal. When I came in for the new key I informed Wadi of (2) things (1) my tires we're rubbing and (2) there was a small discrepancy on my signed contract. Wadi 's immediate response is "Let's make this right" regardless that I had signed the contract. Wadi(sales), Ryan(Finance) & Misty (service) all contributed to assisting me with a mutual deal making me one incredibly HAPPY BUYER. The small dollar figure discrepancy on my contract (which I had signed for.. no compensation legally had to be made) was overcompensated was a fantastic deal/discount on a 2.5" leveling kit to keep the tires I made them put on from rubbing. LONG STORY SHORT the Team I dealt with handled everything I asked for and more all at a very professional level. I can't speak for anyone else on the sales side but I HIGHLY recommend WADI HADDAD, he was never pushy and I always felt as though he was on my side, always fighting for the deal as if it were his own. read more

The used-car sales team at Leif Johnson Ford is well-trained, friendly, and knowledgeable on their vehicles. They stock a good selection of various brands with the majority being what appears to be Ford fleet vehicles. These are late-model rental cars they have acquired and are reselling frequently with some of the original manufacturer's warranty. My wife and I felt the cars were in nearly brand-new condition for having ~20k miles. Tips: 1. Have a good down payment to offer. The more money you can put down up front, the less risk your loan will be for a lender. The lenders want to stay away from situations where more money is owed than the car is worth. If you put down $6000 on a $25,000 car, and set it up for 36 or 48 month payments, then the rate of depreciation should never outstrip the value of the car. Since it's less risky, you can nab an interest rate of 1.39% on a used car. 2. If you have a car to trade in of some value, you will avoid paying sales tax for the value of your trade-in. 3. If you are going to trade in a vehicle, keep that info to yourself. Negotiate the price of the car you want to buy first. After you've gotten the bottom price, then offer the trade-in. 4. Leif Johnson Ford is supposed to fill the gas tank up before you drive off the lot. Check that they have. 5. Make absolutely certain before you commit to buy one of these used cars that this model has TWO keys and the owner's manual. Frequently the fleet vehicles do not and Leif Johnson Ford is happy to sell you a car with one key. For electronic key fobs, you'll end up spending over $200 for a second key and then $40 to have it programmed. It doesn't cost them nearly $240 for these things, so make sure they have two keys to go with the car you're interested in before you even talk numbers. 6. Don't buy any of the tire warranties. 7. Check out www.cargurus.com and search the car you are looking for. That site aggregates the inventory of a bunch of used car dealers and keeps track of what price changes have taken place on a given car and how long it's sat on their lot. This will help you know how eager the dealer is to negotiate to move it off their property. Leif Johnson Ford stock is posted to the site. Really, though, the staff at Leif Johnson Ford are great people to work with. They stock a good spectrum of vehicles to choose from, and the pricing seems to match the market well. read more

We have been a BMW family for years. Out of the blue, we stopped in to Leif Johnson one day to just to check out the domestic side of things. Suffice it to say, we bought 3 new Fords from them in 2009. I can not say enough good things about Derek (our salesman) and Stephen (the sales manager). The process was professional and they gave us better prices on our BMW trade-ins than even BMW had offered us. There was no constant negotiating and even after researching the numbers, we came away with the feeling that we had been treated very well. Further, there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. Alright, an update regarding the issue that I had previously. I contacted Chris St. Clair and did get reimbursed for the mechanical issues that I paid to have fixed on the vehicle. This was a painful process to have to go through and I hope no one else has to go through it. Chris is a very busy person and it took about a week to get the check. Chris did a great job and was very courteous. Listened to the issue I had and resolved the part that could be resolved. I hope in the future that a policy will be adopted to remedy this so the situation doesn't happen again. I also hope that the employees involved with my purchase and return will get some better training to avoid these types of errors in the future. Thanks again Chris for doing the right thing. read more
