I found these guys through USAA's Car Buying Service - A.K.A. TruCar. I was on a time limit on getting a new car as my previous vehicle had recently 'passed away' and was currently in a rental. I stopped by the dealership on a Wednesday and told Justin 'Time' exactly what I wanted. My request was to get a 2014 Mustang Premium edition with a black exterior and manual transmission. They did suggest a car in their inventory, but I refused because nothing their fit my specifications. After they searched the entire state for one, there were two that popped in the system that fit the specs. One at Grapevine Ford, and the other near Corpus. They mentioned they would try to get the one in Grapevine as it had all the specs I wanted plus more. If by chance they couldn't get it, then they would grab the other one. After I pestered them about it for a day on whether or not they could get the one in Grapevine, which was ultimately the one that I wanted, I was told by the dealer that it was no longer available. To me, that just didn't add up b/c the vehicle was still listed on Grapevine Ford's website. I called over to Grapevine and the salesman there told me that it was on the lot and for sale. Now.. Why would I get conflicting stories? I immediately called back to Lief Johnson to talk to the manager on duty. They told me that they would have the vehicle there by the next day. I still didn't understand why they had told me it wasn't available when it really was. I understand that most probably would have said never mind at this point and walked away. It just seemed really shady! I decided to still give them a shot and they made up for it. Their sync team was great at telling me how to use the system. I had one before but was never really told how it worked. Being shown is a huge help to a visual learner like me. The finance department had us in and out pretty quick and managed to get a lower rate than what I was expecting. I have my first free oil change lined up with them too. If they did free car washes for a year then they'd have gotten that extra star I missed above from that shady situation. Justin 'Time' was a great salesman. I truly dislike 'pushy-ness' and he wasn't at all. I was firm on what I wanted and they delivered it. This was my first ever 'NEW' car and overall I'm glad the sale went over well. read more

I took one of our fleet vehicles here to have a simple oil change done. These guys are so disorganized. I dropped it off with an appointment at 1:30 and had requested a shuttle. It took them an hour to acknowledge me and give me a ride back to my office. They said it was going to be 1hr to 45 mins. I called them to inquire about it and they kept me on the phone for an hour because they couldn't find my vehicle info. Needless to say I wasn't able to get the vehicle until the next day and it was still a 45 min ordeal. I could go on and on. I won't be going there again and our fleet vehicles will not be sent there either. They never even apologized. Such bad customer service. read more

I deal with Leif Johnson Ford often. I have to take my car in every 6 months or less for the same issue; the dealership sold me a lemon of a car. Imagine buying your first car on your own at 19 only to have it start driving terribly shortly after... I've been dealing with this for nearly 5 years now. The service advisors promise it won't happen again and then put on their best surprised faces when I have to bring my car in again a few months later for the SAME problem. Clearly they're just putting a bandaid on the issue without having actually fixed my car, but I'm no mechanic, so what do I know. There is something to be said about LJFs customer service, they are all very nice people and I don't blame the service advisors or the front desk staff, they're just the middle men (except Carlos who was extremely rude and called to ask how my car was driving, but had never called me to tell me my car was ready to be picked up to begin with) On top of continuous problems with the repairs of my car, they ALWAYS return it to me filthy. Dust covering my dashboard and vents and the outside of my car is a disgusting mess, not at all the condition that I dropped it off in, which is very annoying. The only reason I give it three stars instead of one is because of the service advisors. I've dealt with a lot of them there over the years and I've never had any complaints (besides my most recent SA Carlos) they are nice guys, they try to get me setup quickly and on my way in a timely manner and I can appreciate that, but the kindest customer service in the world does change the fact that my car doesn't ever get fixed long term here. Update: One of the managers called me immediately after I left my review to make things right. They took my car, gave me a rental for the day, and did a full detail on my car. Unfortunately I will still have problems with my car until I pay it off and get rid of it, which isn't that far off. I won't say I'll never buy from LJF again, but definitely going to check out all my options. I really appreciate the customer service though. read more

I've always hated coming to this dealership for service but my latest experience has been the absolute worst and still continues to be a nightmare. They've had my 2017 Escape (that was shaking violently when starting the engine) in their shop for the last 2.5 months and I still don't have my car back. They keep saying it'll be done Monday and then Wednesday and then Thursday and now Friday and I still don't have my car. They are absolutely the worst. WORST PLACE TO GET YOUR CAR. sold me a car without a tittle and I got a loan from my bank and they were harassing me to get a loan with them when I had my loan with my bank already. Told me my car was accident free but the car fax and they lied about it. Promised me compensation for the inconvenience and when I try to receive my compensation they say it's no longer a thing. I went in Monday for a scheduled oil change at 12:30 and waited a hour to be told my car had not been serviced yet customer service is horrible and long wait time on the phone just to speak with someone about the issue I was told my car would be picked up Tuesday for service and they never did what's the point of making appointments if you're not going to go by them and not going to keep your word I would say go elsewhere for an oil change and pay a little more so you're not just wasting your time very disappointed read more

Later in the day, I received a phone call from John the service manager. He addressed my concerns in a professional, friendly manner and was able to lay out a plan to insure future improvements in customer relations. Just bought a 2010 Honda Civic EX from the pre-owned department. Great overall experience. Admittedly, I was already acquainted socially with sales associate Tom Bobb and we had had a few prior conversations around getting rid of my 2-seat convertible into something more practical. When the time came, I checked out their pre-owned inventory online and found a car I liked. I sent Tom the VIN and asked if I could come see it. This particular car was on another lot 20 miles out of town, but by the time I got to the dealership Tom had had it driven in for me to test drive. I liked the car very much overall, although the test drive revealed that it pulled to the right a bit on highway straightaways. Tom promised they'd take care of any alignment issues before I took delivery of the car. During the entire process I filled out exactly one short form which took about 90 seconds. Tom took care of all other paperwork, personally entered my info into their system and walked it all through the finance process to final closing. I literally did no more than sit in the lobby and watch TV. From there, Amanda Braun in finance was a pleasure to work with in finalizing my loan payments and extended warranty options. And while I was finishing up, Tom had the car sent to the service department to fix the alignment issue (which they did) and have the car washed and detailed for delivery. The whole thing took about 3.5 hours and I ultimately walked away with a great car at a price that made sense to me and an extended warranty to 90K miles. Oh, and they gave me more for my trade in than I could find anywhere else, including private sale. I had a tight, detailed list of requirements for my vehicle, which Dee reviewed carefully and ultimately found me a truck that matched my requirements. She was very professional and communicative throughout the process. Unlike many other dealers, Dee presented to me only the vehicles that matched my needs and did not try to wiggle in any other vehicles that did not just for the sake of trying to make the sale. They told us that, by purchasing this bumper to bumper warranty we wouldn't have any problems, That was a joke! the warranty doesn't cover any of the different problems we had with their vehicle. After doing research we found out that the warranty belongs to a 3rd party and between leif johnson and the warranty people nothing is covered. This is in regards to the Leif Johnson Ford on Ben White. My husband bought a truck from their lot. They said, "we stand by our word because word of mouth is the best advertisement available". The wind shield wiper fluid container was cracked & play in the steering wheel & the AC wasn't working, they said they would REPAIR BOTH .... WHICH NONE WAS! So we picked up the truck thinking it was repaired (as they said they did it in good faith). About 2 weeks later my husband was STRANDED at 3am in Giddings due to the serpentine belt breaking. He had to leave the truck at a store till the next day. Come to find out the pulley needed to be replaced as well ... now the power steering pump went out. We took the truck back them after a mechanic friend looked at it and being told us that it would be AT LEAST $10K to repair everything. The power steering pump, front main seal is leaking, 2 different oil leaks, the oil has metal shavings in it, oil inside the intake tube, the intake isn't properly routed & the MAIN thing ... the truck was SOLD as a 4x4 and the drive shaft for that is MISSING. There for the truck was sold as a BAIT & SWITCH which is ILLEGAL in the state of Texas. I would NOT recommend this location UNLESS you take your own mechanic! We walked the lot and looked in 100 degrees weather for 10 mins to find out the car we saw on the website was moved to another location. This review is more over Leif Johnson's Service Department than their sales. I've not had any dealings with their sales group myself. Anyway, I bought my 2012 F150 from another dealership in the Austin area, the dealer I bought it from is a bit further drive from my home than Leif Johnson which is why I chose them to perform a warranty repair on my F150. My problem occurred on a long drive from Amarillo to Austin on a cool and rainy day, I was 100 miles from Austin on a 2 lane highway when my truck developed a Check Engine Light and started running poorly. Thankfully, the truck was able to get me home without delay. The next day I took it to Leif Johnson, the service advisor got me checked in in no time and said what the problem might possibly be. From what I knew of the issue I figured the truck would be in for a week. Once the work order was written up I was taken over to their rental counter and put in another F150 (nice). In contrast the dealer where I bought my F150; They took me to their on-site rental car center and I got dinged $4/day because Ford allegedly won't cover the taxes on a rental. 1:00pm the next day they called telling me the issue was fixed and the needed parts were installed. I was shocked as others who've had this same issue repaired waited weeks for the parts. I filled up my rental with gas (only used 2 gallons) and they got me out of there quickly. Can't say enough nice things about Leif Johnson's service department, almost makes me feel guilty I didn't buy my truck there. read more

Despite being a first-time buyer, I took a leaf from the Destiny Child's playbook, tried my hand at being an I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T woman, and went car shopping by myself. I was a nervous about going to a dealership without a male presence to ward off hustling car salesmen, and I soon found out that fear was not misplaced. My first hour at Leif Johnson was spent with a used car salesman who showed me a dirty, old and, frankly, janky Dodge with a large "No Warranty" sticker in the front window. I was uncomfortable and I wanted to leave, but I'm glad I didn't. My experience changed radically when I decided to look at the new Fords. I've admired the new Ford Fusions for a while, but I doubted I was in the right financial situation to purchase one. Once I expressed this, I was thrust upon Tom Bobb, who surprisingly did not seem irritated with my endless questions or passive about my serious concerns. I immediately trusted this guy because he did NOT try to sell me unnecessary features, and instead told me he was going to work to get me good financing for a car I could actually afford. I was there for hours, but Tom worked extremely hard to get me the financing, and despite not having any credit, he somehow worked everything out. He was professional, understanding, and honest; I'm not sure what else I could have asked for at a dealership. I now have a shiny new Ford Fusion, a manageable payment plan, and I am completely assured that if I have any questions, I can contact Tom and he will help me out. In short: Buying a new car at Leif Johnson is something I would definitely recommend. Good employees, good cars, and a pleasant atmosphere. However, stay far away from the used car selection. Many of these cars look like they're on their last leg, and even the used vehicles that look good are thrust in your face so forcefully that you have to wonder what their fatal flaws are. read more

My experience with Leif Johnson was really good. Everyone was very attention, from the people on site in the parking lot all the way through executing the documents for the vehicle purchase. I had already looked online and picked out a truck that had what I wanted. Our salesperson, Brandon, reviewed what I had printed out, made some suggestions that were actually better for me and answered every question that I had (many questions!). The follow up after the sale has been good. The sales manager, Isaac, called and left a message for me to make sure I was completely satisfied. We had some follow up questions about how to use some of the features and he accomodated setting up a follow up "training" session with the Ford tech guy and our salesperson, if we wanted it. I ended up figuring it out on my own, but it was really nice to see someone actually CARE after the sale. Props to Nicole Feliciano and Adam at the north location and to Andy in Buda. I had a chipped windshield, Adam and Nicole got a replacement windshield installed by Dusty of Pro Glass at my work - it's beautiful. The 2015 Subaru Crosstrek is a great car and Leif Johnson got me a better price on a really low miles (7900 mi) car and it is loaded- a better price than any of the area Subaru dealers! Gloria bought a 2015 GMC Terrain for a lower than market price in November 2015, she had some issues with it and Leif Johnson Buda fixed all of them and even gave her a free oil change! None of these cars are Fords , no problems with service and no one tried to steer us to a Ford or Mercury. read more

Do not bring your vehicle here. The first time I brought my car here, they gave it back with bird poop all over it, stains all over the seats, and my had cord missing. Jim and Russel told me I could bring the car back for a free oil change to make up for it. I scheduled an oil change for 2:15, and by 5:00 they still hadn't done the simple oil change. I have been attempting to get a GAP refund since July and even though I have provided Leif Johnson Ford 2 letters from the original finance company for payoff of my loan I still have not received a refund. I was communicating through email with Angel Ortiz, one of the Finance Manager for this location but he stopped responding to my emails. I have not received a response from him since August even though I have emailed him twice in September. I'd taken my five speed '04 Mustang GT to a specialty shop but problems with the suspension persisted. I decided to take a chance on Leif Johnson after seeing their commercials, looking at reviews, and speaking to a friend of mine who suggested I take my car there, even though there's another dealer located closer to me. I don't like taking my car to the dealer but I really needed a 2nd opinion. I'd recently moved to Austin and was extremely skeptical. Being a woman, I know how easy it is for us to get taken, and you really need to know what you're talking about before you take your car in for service. I know enough about my car to know what needed to be done, but it's sometimes hard to confirm the work was ACTUALLY done. Jason Hart was my service advisor and he was very polite. While waiting for my vehicle to be inspected, I noticed the other service reps who all appeared to be giving great service. I can be very demanding and I have no problem taking my business elsewhere. I spoke personally with the mechanic Brian Fuller... I can't say enough about him. This guy knows his stuff. He showed me exactly what I needed to see and confirmed what I'd already thought needed to be done. He'll be the only one I'll let work on my car from now on. A mechanic who gives great customer service, without the stars having to align first? Who knew! Amazing. I'll definitely be taking my car there again !!! read more

Have contacted both Riata and Leif Johnson per credit card company to verify charges are accurate. I have no problem paying for something when I make a purchase/use a toll and receive an accurate invoice!!! Requested invoice not sent after several attempts. Having my credit card per the contract DOES NOT allow a person to charge whatever they want! Charge is still being disputed due to lack of invoice and PROOF of charges. We were told by the dealership that an invoice would be provided to our email LAST WEEK and still has not been provided! Also, spoke to the toll administration about the amount of the tolls to request an invoice and they said they have not record of the charges. read more
