Then I laid down for an amazing face and head massage, which was my favorite part. They also massaged my arms, hands, feet, and legs. After that, I turned over for a back and thigh massage. The hot stone massage lasted about five minutes and was only on my back. I was hoping the hot stones would also be used on my feet. I originally expected the full 60 minutes to focus on my feet, but it ended up being more of a full-body massage. After calling to make an appointment, I booked a 60 minute private room with hot stone massage. I wasn't going to be picky with my massage therapist and it looks like luck was on my side. I was paired up with Lily and she was overall great. Her hands were strong and the pressure was perfect for me throughout my body. She also included a scalp massage at the end which I loved. This place is also really clean. Before I had my massage, I asked to use the bathroom first. I was welcomed to clean facilities (both toilet bowl + sink).. This is one of the most important things to me as I'm a bit of a clean freak. A dirty bathroom is a deal breaker for me. Another thing I noticed is that it was really quiet. Since they're working with limited space, it's good to know that the therapists and clientele are respectful and know to keep conversation to a minimum while we're all getting services done. Massive disappointment. I drove down 22 miles to try this supposedly authentic reflexology place for a foot massage. Firstly, it was tedious to locate their spa as the location on the map points to a random point on the highway and not the plaza. Although, once you locate it, you feel silly for not having located it in the first place because of the clear spa name on the front. I decided to get a 60 minute foot massage. Having been to some good reflexology massage places before, my expectations were high for what I should expect. I was promptly seated. But there was some confusion around what service I had requested as they only seemed to have one person who was fluent in English and the rest of the staff followed her cues. Unfortunately, I received a masseuse who didn't understand English and that caused some confusion in our session overall. My feet were first placed in a nice warm tub and then the masseuse got ready to give my neck a rub. I politely refused and asked that we only do the feet. I was then moved from the small stool to the bed. Next, she decided to wear gloves for the massage. I have had poor experience with massages that are delivered with gloves on because it feels like rubbing plastic against the skin. My request to receive massage using bare hands were turned down as the masseuse said that's how they do it here. (Like what, is this a pedicure or a massage?!) I accepted and decided to go ahead with the session. I noticed the others in the spa who had upper body massage were receiving massage with no gloves. I believe they wanted to practice different policies when it came to different body parts. Either way, my massage felt like a drag. Five minutes into the massage, my feet was dripping with lotion that almost made me feel like someone had lathered soap on my feet. The plastic gloves were rubbing against my feet like how you'd feel rubbing your fingers against a deflated balloon. Horrible! I remembered the reviews I had read before taking on this long drive to get to this spa where people said "oh they work so hard and put so much effort." Heck yes, they do. But with no technique, endless repetitive motion targeting the same region, and dripping lotion, all the effort is in vain. What's more, no hot stone was used in my service despite requesting it at start. I decided to cut down my session to 30 mins mid session as every passing minute felt grueling. Sorry, leisure foot spa team, neither was your service leisurely nor should you offer foot spa services. You might be good with upper body massage, but my experience of foot spa was heartbreakingly disappointing.
