I ordered an inspection on Monday with lemon squad. This means I prepaid for the service and opened an account. While tracking my inspection on my account, the inspector stated that the car dealer did not return his phone calls 3 times. Lemon squad is the only means of contacting the inspector. After a week I decided to get a different inspection team . When I called lemon squad to get a refund I was only able to talk with a "customer service rep. " CS assured me that was possible but would have to get a hold of the inspector first. The lo and behold the inspection was done already. I did get a report, three days later, with a lot missing. Some photos, and some boxes checked. The car was never started so no test drive, no instrument checks, no switches checked, no a/c checked . Lemon squad CS say he got there and the batter was dead. I have been asking for 1/2 my money back. I did receive half a report. CS say they would have a supervisor call me. That was other a week ago. CS said my complaint has been pushed up to the escalation dept. and a supervisor will call me within 72 hours. That was four days ago. I am not giving up but no one should use this service. read more

Mike and Lemon Busters were simply amazing! Mike went to inspect a used car for us at a small dealership in Austin where the salesman was very nice. He called us immediately after his inspection to let us know what he found; it wasn't as good a car as we though or lead to believe. How else could we have ever know that without Mike inspecting it?? Short answer is we wouldn't have known and we probably would have purchased the car. The day he gave us the Austin used car report, I asked him if he could please go inspect another used car in San Antonio the next day? He said it would be around 1 pm that he could be at the dealership in San Antonio. Of the course the salesman at the dealership texts me the next morning and tells me that he has someone that is coming to test drive the same car at 1 pm and if they like it, they will buy it. Even though I'm almost positive this story was fabricated, what else could I do except text Mike and tell him and ask if there is anyway he can get there a little earlier. Not only did he get there by 12:30 pm, but he called me to let me know and said that he would call me as soon as he inspected the car. He did his checks and test drove the car with the salesman. He called me back and let me know that it was a good car. I then called the salesman and gave a non-refundable deposit to hold the car (which he wanted me to do before it was inspected in which I refused). I avoided that car and moved on to the one I bought. he found every single frickin' thing wrong with the car I was buying, and issued a detailed report, including that it was missing a carpet in the trunk. The owner turned up with the carpet and things Mike had said were missing. all true. The owner had them in the garage but WOW. this service gave me peace of mind purchasing. I absolutely WILL NOT buy a used car without having Lemon Busters check it out first. It's such a small price to pay for peace of mind. They also make it so easy. You set an appointment and they travel to your location. Then they perform a top-to-bottom check including everything from electronic computer components testing to an actual street drive. Lemon Busters does not do repairs which allows them to remain unbiased unlike a mechanic's shop that might find "fixes" it would be happy to repair. For my most recent purchase, they told me that the car was in great shape but also gave me a list of items for the dealer to repair before purchase ranging from minor brake adjustments to replacing the skirt of the vehicle which had a hairline tear that might fly off during long trips. First of all, let me say that this is the first review I have ever written on Yelp and that I actually registered with Yelp explicitly so I could write this review because the service was phenomenal! I called Lemon Busters to have them inspect a used car I found on Auto Traders that was being sold through a local dealership. The car has extremely low mileage for the age, about half or a third of the average, and seems to be in great order so of course this sparked my this-car-seems-too-good-to-be-true-and-will-probably-explode-when-I-drive-off-in-it fears. I had already test driven the vehicle and had a basic understanding of a couple of cosmetic issues and that the A/C would need repairing. I called just before 9a on a Monday morning and spoke with Mike, who appears to be the business owner and sole employee from what I can tell. He was extremely friendly but explained that he was booked for the day and could only fit me in if there was a cancellation. I wanted to be on-site for the inspection if possible but my schedule was spotty that day and I was primarily looking forward to getting the results as soon as I could. Mike called me back around 4 that day, saying that his last appointment had canceled and he was only one exit away from the dealership. I was not on-site for the inspection but Mike called me back right around 6:30 the same day to give me a complete run-down of everything he found. He had made concise notes of his findings, everything from semi-serious need-to-fix-pretty-quickly issues to minute aesthetic details, and the inspection was extremely thorough. I had distractions during our phone call and asked him to e-mail me a copy of the inspection sheet later that evening if he could. He e-mailed me the copy first thing the next morning and when I had a chance to look it over I had trouble reading some of the handwriting and deciphering some of the short-hand and codes he had written on the sheet. I called him and asked if he had time later to run me down everything I didn't understand and he was more than happy to explain everything all over again. MORE than happy. I was apologetic for having to bother him after our transaction was complete, knowing he was out handling other appointments that same day. He was extremely accommodating, had my sheet on-hand and took a few minutes out of his schedule to explain everything I didn't understand. I am pretty frugal and was hesitant at first to spend the $129 on a car I felt pretty confident in purchasing anyway but I have to say that this price was a bargain for the peace of mind. Just think of it this way, use this service for a car you are seriously interested in and you will not regret it. I am moving forward with the car purchase and am extremely happy to know EXACTLY what condition the car is in. Not only that, his report will actually give me leverage to make a lower counteroffer than we initially agreed upon. Similarly, if Mike had given me bad news, I would have been just as grateful for his saving me thousands I would have spent on purchasing a lemon. A++++ above-and-beyond service. Never buy a used car without them - they work for you! Today Lemon Busters found fatal flaws in a used car that the dealer said was just fine, only needed new wiper blades. Actually it needed a timing belt and tighteners, oil seals, and, btw, a new engine. If that is not enough, the oil was leaking onto the exhaust manifold, which is a fire hazard, so it is unsafe to drive. Lemon busters was thorough and efficient. We called on Monday to alert them that we wanted them to see the car as soon as the dealer had it ready. I have been in contact with Mike for three days now because he was referred to me by austin ventures. BUT as we try an schedule a date and time for him to send a mechanic out to the lot to do diagnostics, he has repeatedly gone back and fourth with "yes we can" and "no we can't". So after apoakgjzes for confusing me he says "as long as I can make sure we can work on that type of engine I will set you up Monday... I will give you a call 3pm tomorrow" tomorrow comes I wait all day for the call then proceed to call this morning. When he answers me he's confused as to why I'm calling even though I explained I was waiting on the thumbs up or thumbs down for the mechanic and machinery that they have to work on my bus. But instead he get mad and dosnt acknowglre the question I asked and says sure we can get you in maybe next week end of the week. And I'm like okay.... but can y'all even work on the actual engine, because that was the bigger question I was waiting on hearing back from you. He then proceeded a to raise his voice at me and say do you want the business or not and says he's confused again as to why I'm calling. As a business owner I hold my employees to the highest customer service standers in order to provide excellent customer service for not only my previous and current customers, BUT my future prospects. Because if you don't give good customer service, and if you can't reply in a professional timely manor that you have set for yourself and the customer. along with respect the fact that when you tell a costumer you will do something and you don't do that, it tarnishes your word and your business name. So thank you for not only loosing trust but A customer who would've been a forever client of yalls, due to the amanzing work you do.... I am very disappointed with my customer service today. I booked an inspection on 7/9/17 and your first opening was on 7/11/17, not only was i not given a day or time frame before my card was charged the full amount of $149, but the car has been sold and when i called in to request a refund due to your services no longer being needed i was told by the representative that there are no refunds, i'll just have to find another car that i need inspected. I did not see any warning of this on the website and this is very bad business! I will be informing everyone i know that Lemon Squad are the ones that do the ripping off.
