Was in Vero Beach on vacation, just wondering around the downtown area, we decided to stop in and eat. There was a 25 minute wait, which took 15. It's defiantly a local place. Breakfast is served until 11, with a small limited breakfast menu and lunch after that. I and my friend had made our choices when the waiter recomended the daily special quiche ! So that's what we had! RIGHT decision! Choice of salad or fries get the house salad ! Yum yum! And after this great brunch! They brought us a little basket of warm mini muffins ! I couldn't finish my quiche, but I managed to force myself to have a muffin The service is quick the waitstaff is helpful and friendly! Lovely breakfast for lunch today at Lemon Tree. Service was quick and friendly, and the food hit the spot. My mother and I shared a veggie omelette with home fries and a pancake. They split it onto two plates without us asking, which was a nice touch. The home fries were a little greasy for my taste, but the omelette was delicious. It was fluffy, the veggies were perfectly sautéed, and it wasn't oily. The lemon blueberry pancake, however, was the star of the show: the citrus added a little oomph to the pancake. It was fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the edges. It had so much flavor it really didn't need syrup! read more

Be prepared to wait! This place is obviously well loved. I ordered the quiche of the day which had spinach, bacon, and swiss cheese in it. Although a small portion for the almost $12 I paid, it was extremely filling and delish. I also ordered a side of the cheesy grits. I had to ask our waitress if the grits were cheesy.... because I tasted zero cheese. My husband had the croissant sandwich and it had to be the most dense croissant in history. Concerning due to lack of Covid procedures. I have been visiting the Lemon Tree for years, and coming in Friday morning made my entire party very uncomfortable. Not only was the hostess not wearing a mask, but several servers were not as well. The service was decent, but I also noticed the hostess consistently left the host stand to sit in the booth with a party and was on her phone ignoring the front. I have grown to love the food here over the years, but I will not visit again until after the pandemic for sure. read more

Best weekend spot for breakfast! Their French toast might be the best I've had around. Crab omelette is the best for sure. But beware of long waits. The good thing is it's set in the midst of the Ocean Drive shopping district. So leave your name and stroll through the high end boutiques and beach shops to pass the time. Spongy pre-toasted cool English muffin Ham slice very thin and cool in temp HOLLANDAISE SAUCE - most likely blended and what really destroyed the dish. The sauce so watery thin did not nape on eggs.. a puddle on bottom of plate. Funny part is when asked how everything was the reply- " our cook was here 30 years!!! Being their known for breakfast this is where we went this morning. (They are only open for breakfast on Sunday.) We got there before 10 and there was a 15 minute wait. I think it was much longer by 10. The service was good. The food your standard breakfast fare. I had the classic eggs Benedict with cheesy grits. Portion seemed to be lacking when placed in front of me but it was sufficient. Slices of ham probably could have been a little bigger to at least be the same size as the muffin. This is a small little breakfast and lunch place tucked away in the Indian River side of Vero Beach, FL. We showed up around the 10 to 10:30 time frame on a Monday. There was a small delay to be attended to at the front desk. Took about 20 mins wait to be seated but had to check the desk to see how much longer and they had lined out my family name from the waitlist. Upon discovery they immediately sat us down. We had a wonderful server named Jordan/George ??(we may have misheard his name??). He was fantastic. We ordered cheese grits with poached eggs with corned beef hash, açaí bowl, the kids got French toast and pancakes. When we were seated we were not given kid's menu. The server noticed that and went to get us a kids menu when he noticed we were trying to order from the main menu for the kids. Thank you Jordan!/George! About 45 mins into waiting for our order our server brought out mini blueberry muffins due to our wait and said they are short staffed and said it would be 10 more mins. After a total of an hour wait our server said that they lost our ticket and asked for us to reverify our order. Honestly he remembered every order when he went over it from memory. He resubmitted our ticket. After about 5 or 10 mins he showed back up and said that the cook is having a rough day and wanted to see if I would like to change my poached eggs to either fried or scrambled because he (the cook) did not "want" to cook poached eggs. I was really looking forward to poached eggs as that is my favorite way to have them prepared and hadn't had them that way in quite awhile. I was really disappointed but the server talked me into getting them a different way due to the cooks desires. We finally got our food about 90 mins after being seated. The kids food was delicious as was the açaí bowl which is quite big. However, the cheese grits with fried egg over medium was very bland and had to mix with the corned beef hash to get some flavor. This place was highly recommended and I saw others get their food before us so do think this is an isolated incident but when we got the check it was business as usual. Just an apology from the server who had no fault to our experience. We were very disappointed. I hope that others won't get this experience especially with children who are very hungry. read more

Let me start by saying I understand the restaurant and service business is stressful and I try to always give the benefit of the doubt. When we eat at lemon tree a member of our family was late but they seated us anyways. Within a few minutes of being seated the manager/owner came over and complained that by waiting for 1 more member of our party to order we were taking up space and costing him money. Now I think the way he handled that was poor -- I mean we were already seated -- what does he have to gain at that point? So we decided to call our straggling party member who was a minute away and take his order right on the spot. So we got his order -- were ready to order -- and a member of our party went to the owner to tell him we were ready to order. The manager told him "I'm having a bad day -- you and your party are free to leave". Well we left. What a rude owner. That's not how you treat customers. Full disclosure: this restaurant is run by my favorite high school Social Studies teacher and her husband. However, this is the best restaurant in the area, and the meals I've had here rival most of the restaurants in Boston (where I live). My parents moved to neighboring Fort Pierce a few years ago. If they were 30 years younger, I'm sure they'd be active Yelpers as they love trying new places. They discovered the Lemon Tree, and kept telling me how wonderful it is, how every meal they had there is better than the last. Several months later when I came to visit, they took me there for dinner, and lo and behold, my former teacher is standing there! I had no idea that she had moved to Florida, let alone owned my parents' favorite restaurant. I bring this up because Mary Beth and her husband have a passion for excellent service and excellent food. The specials are constantly rotating, and they are always outstanding. My mom still raves about a chicken dish that she wishes was on the menu permanently. Every meal comes with complimentary wine, choice of soup, and sorbet. It's an old-fashioned but nice touch to an already outstanding meal, and one that you won't find at many restaurants. If you're in the area, be sure to make a trip to Lemon Tree, it won't disappoint. read more

I am in Vero working on a move to this area (been here a little over a month) and I am alone at the moment so naturally when I have breakfast, often times I'll be alone... The food here is good but if you are eating alone, DO NOT COME here. I waited 45 minutes to be seated which is not the issue but rather the abuse I had to endure when I finally got seated. The lady in the front which I think is the owner, treated me like I was inconveniencing her by coming to eat there. She was extremely rude. The service staff if great once you get seated. I must have seen about 20 people that came after me seated before I got up to ask where I was on the list (after 45 minutes), she was visibly annoyed with my question. Every one around me got a "thank you for the wait", she pointed to a small table and when I became confused by what she wanted me to do, she said "I'm talking to you, go around the other side and your table is over there". The food is good but not worth the abuse, never again. If you are a family or even 2 people, you should be fine. Don't dine alone here! read more

This place is a local favorite in Vero Beach and I can see why. However, I wanted corned beef hash like the dickens... Um... They do serve it here, but it's not good. The flavor is was off the day I was there and it is served in a bowl with eggs. Corned beef hash is best when it's crispy on a plate, not mushy in a bowl with mushy wet eggs... They said I could ask for it like that but I never got the chance to go back. Coffee wasn't the best in the area. Service is excellent here... It's worth a try, or two. read more

I've really been wanting to try this place because I hear they have good soup. Ordered a bowl of the lobster bisque and it was good. Not great, but good. I was too late for breakfast but they had a crab, swiss and artichoke omelette that was offered on their lunch menu, so I tried it and it was good. Service was excellent. Personally, I think this place is probably better for breakfast. Supposedly, at dinner they give you free a glass of wine with dinner and free sorbet after dinner. I was offered free sorbet after lunch. Bottom line: the food was good, not great. I'm gonna give them three stars and will go back after I experience more of what Vero Beach has to offer. read more
