We dined here for breakfast on a recent trip to Vero Beach. We come to Vero at least once if not several times a year. This place had long been recommended to us, but during peak season it is really difficult to get it. The restaurant is small and parking is not readily available. So we took this off season visit as an opportunity to finally try it out. The Lemon tree is on a cute street surrounded by small restaurants and shops. Parking can be challenging. We arrived at 9am on a cold Sunday morning and were told 15 min which gave us a chance to peruse the store next door. Most of the tables inside the restaurant are 4 top booths. If you have mobility issues where it is difficult to slide in a booth or you are a person of a size you may want to note this. It is not the most accessible/size inclusive place. The menu is ample and prices are moderate. They bring you little muffins to start. They were complimentary and the best thing we had. They were so good! My child ordered the kids pancake and bacon. I ordered the two eggs with sausage, and grits. The grits came highly recommend and are a cheesy grit. My entire table was excited about them, but thoroughly disappointed when they arrived. They were quite dry. Everything else was very good though, so I would definitely return without the grits. read more

Love breakfast and was very excited to try Lemon Tree during our visit to Vero after reading great reviewed and seeing it was one of the top breakfast spots in the area. When we arrived it already seemed busy and we had a short wait. We were seated and there were two lemon poppy mini muffins on the table - cute, but they didn't taste very good. Our server seemed rushed, which I understand when you're busy, but she asked for our drink order right as we were sitting and my husband said his and I said oh wow, I didn't even look and she literally just walked away - I had to literally turn around in my seat and tell her water was great. The whole exchange was probably about 10-15 seconds. We ordered the fresh egg breakfast (with 1 over easy egg, corned beef hash, cheese grits and an English muffin), and the Big Breakfast with the lemon blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese and extra extra crispy bacon. The pancakes weren't edible. There was no taste of lemon in the pancakes. These were dense, doughy pancakes. They tasted as if they forgot an ingredient in them. It had the texture of something you might use to repair a wall. My extra extra crispy bacon was undercooked and my eggs were overcooked and very dry. The cheesy grits had minimal flavor and some bites had crunchy grits in them. The corned beef hash wasn't awful, but had a lot of salt. Overall I was just not impressed. The server didn't come back until she dropped the check. When she picked up my card for payment she asked if I needed a box for the uneaten pancake and I let her know that it seemed like they forgot something in the pancake and that it just wasn't good. She took the added $5 for the pancakes off the bill (which also seemed steep to upgrade regular pancakes to lemon blueberry in a pancake platter - and no one clarified that ahead of time, but thats okay), which I appreciated her doing without request. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, but I feel like we had a variety of offerings and were left unimpressed. The location is convenient to the hotels - we saw several people from our resort there, and it's simple but cute inside. read more

First off Ashley is amazing! What a great personality and asset to this restaurant. The coffee was great and we would have bought a mug but $19 is a bit much. The food here is good. We came in for breakfast. I had the Vanilla Cinnamon French Toast and it was a bit dry. The side of corned beef hash was tasty and had a crisp outer layer that I enjoyed. My friend got the lemon blueberry pancakes and she loved them. My boyfriend got the corned beef hash with eggs and potatoes and a side of gravy which he devoured. Next time I'm trying the quiche because people rave about it. The meal is concluded with a mini muffin, apple cinnamon today, which is a nice touch. This is a delicious spot for breakfast or lunch! We went on a Saturday and it was hopping. I got their house salad - which has cranberries, feta, and walnuts with a balsamic dressing. Absolutely the worst breakfast ever. My husband and I were celebrating our birthdays in Vero Beach. We had a great time there, except for this place. We asked for a simple -2 eggs, bacon, home potatoes and bread meal. We ended up getting a plate full of greasy eggs, overcook fried potatoes and overcook, dark bacon. We kept looking for the server to let her know but she kept chatting with other customers. We were almost done with our food When we finally got hold of her. By then, all we have left was the overcooked beacon to which she referred as "burnt bacon and overheated from the day before." Hostess was very obvious about seating her regulars and had no interest in seating me and my daughter. I questioned our place and hostess #1 assured me we were next. Hostess #2 skipped us 3 times.
