Food was mediocre. Vietnamese food was not bad with standard summer roll and pork rice vermicelli. The sushi was bland and I ordered a sashimi roll that was supposed to have tuna, salmon, roe, and yellowtail. When the waitperson brought the roll I asked where is the yellowtail? It contained all other ingredients. She came back and said they don't sell yellowtail and that the roll never has the yellowtail. I've never seen anything like that. At least take each menu and cross out the word yellowtail. False advertising! read more

Sad to say but if things continue the way they are as of this past weekend, this place will not survive. I don't put much faith in most reviews, thinking that everyone has different levels of expectations, but in this case, I should have heeded the negative ones. Believe me, I will consider them more thoughtfully in the future. We noticed upon entering that it was very warm in the dining area. After mentioning this to the server, he replied, "oh, I will turn up the AC". I watched as he walked over to the one of many "tower fans" placed around the room and he turned one on. I'm not sure if they were having AC problems or if they were cutting costs by keeping the temps down but it was "just bearable". Had it not been for our dining companions, (who were treating us to dinner), my partner and I would have left immediately. Unfortunately things only went downhill from here starting with a horrible wafting smell of B-O from a nearby diner. No fault of the restaurant, however it certainly didn't help that the tower fans were blowing the smell and the warm air around the room. Our party of four ordered the Kung Pow chicken, Thai Basil with beef, Pad Thai and the Crispy Whole Red Snapper. Only one of us were without complaint, my friend who ordered the snapper. The Kung Pow had no flavor or spice, The Pad Thai noodles were the constancy of rubber and tasted like plastic, but the worst offender was the large black hair that had taken up residence in the Thai Basil with beef. These three dishes were basically left untouched with less than 1/4 of each eaten, but of the three, the Thai Basil with beef had the most promise, sans hair of course. When the waiter returned and asked how things were, I calmly asked, "do you want the truth"? When he said yes, I relayed this information to him. His reply was, "oh there was a hair in it", and when I assured him there was, and pointed out the hair, his reply was "oh". Apparently he was a recent hire and didn't realize the importance of relaying this information to his manager, which we immediately corrected. To their credit the manager did apologize and immediately offered to make another dish. However, at this point appetites were ruined and that offer was pointless, so she did comp the price of that meal which was appreciated. She also left a $10.00 coupon to be used on the next visit which I'm positive will go unused. To say that I was disappointed with the whole dining experience would be an understatement. read more

Came in lunch at Sunday , my husband didn't like his curry at all , and my pho was ok . The waitress didn't smile at all , my meal was supposed to be $16 , then the bill came . It said $23 . Asked why . The owner said : oh , we don't have lunch price at Sunday . I asked her , but we looked at the lunch menu the waitress gave us , the owner said she was new and she didn't know . Wife and I love this place. Formerly "Far East Cuisine" moved to the Centre. Owner Tri Pham designed and painted the new color coordinated digs including staining the mahogany woodwork and adding the art work. Colors are rich jade green with garnet browns black greys and tan orange fit for FSU and FAMU. Place is cozy warm and inviting with intimate low key lighting. Food is oh so scrumptious. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Bar features a nice quartz countertop curved accent with bar stools. Tri and and his wife Tiffany invite you to try out their new Restaurant. I tried Lemongrass after hurricane Michael as they were the only thing open. I had it delivered and still had no power and it was the first hot meal I'd had in days. It was wonderful and I was so excited to go back again in person. Months later now, I can confidently say this is the best place in Tallahassee for a wonderful variety of Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese dishes. They truly have something for everyone. This is the best place for pho in Tallahassee - don't even bother with the other places. The quality of the food is VERY high. It doesn't take too long for your meal to arrive but it is not a ridiculous wait either. The service is prompt, friendly and kind. We have never had a bad experience at Lemongrass. The prices are fantastic - perfectly priced for the portions which are appropriately sized for anyone. You can get a small plate or a large plate, whatever satisfies your appetite at the time. I truly would recommend Lemongrass to anyone. This is THE place to go for Asian cuisine. We will be forever customers. read more

The restaurant is fairly nice, booths and tables and a bar. My server was quite kind and provided great service. My vermicelli bowl wasn't quite up to par. Seemed like it had more noodles than veggies. The chicken was dry and kind of chewy. I went here a couple of weeks ago and it was a horrible experience. Our server didn't know the menu, the food was bland and the wait was ridiculous (there was only our group of 5 and another table). Only reason I am giving Lemongrass one star is because my sushi was decent. Service here is horrible. My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day, and our experience was not one we want to remember. First, we walked in and no one helped us for 5 minutes. It was a very slow night as well. Then we were not waited on for another 10 minutes. I ordered a sushi roll for myself and one for us to share, and my boyfriend ordered Pho. Thankfully I ordered two rolls because his pho never came. We did not see our server until he brought us the check, and still charged us for the pho we never got. When we brought it to his attention he never once apologized or offered to bring us the dish, even to go. After having eaten delicious Thai and Vietnamese food around the country, it is disappointing that Tallahassee has yet to offer decent Asian cuisine. We were seated quickly and our order was taken, but the waitress did not seem to understand the menu. Here's what I ordered: Appetizers: 1. Vietnamese shrimp and ham springrolls - didn't taste any ham in these 2. Crispy calamari - pretty good, not the best I've had Just as we started tasting the appetizers, out came the entrees. They should have waited until we finished our appetizers as we had to rush to make room for the entrees. Drink: Sake - this is where the waitress was confused. I ordered hot house sake. She came back and asked what flavor. Picked a flavor from the options she listed even though this didn't sound right. The owner came and explained that the options are house sake (traditionally served hot) or flavored sake (traditionally served cold). Ended up ordering the cold coconut/lemongrass for $12. Arrived luke warm. While the flavor was good, definitely not worth $12. I've only had sake one other time at Azu or Masa and really enjoyed the hot version. Entree: Red Curry with Chicken - while it arrived quickly and was hot, for the price you pay ($9.50 PLUS if you want protein it is extra $2 for chicken) you hardly get any chicken, the sauce is watery, and so many huge chunks of undercooked vegetables. I don't like greenpeppers much, especially raw, and this had huge chunks or undercooked greenpeppers, carrots, and greenbeans. Tasted the same as the Panang Curry that another in my party ordered. Rainbow sushi roll - Ordered by someone else in my party, who ended up splitting it with me. I'm not a sushi person so I can't say how it compares to anything else, but I liked it. Overall impressions: I hope Lemongrass reads the comments and makes some improvements. I don't mind paying more for good cuisine. In the meantime, I'll stick with Azu/Masa/Dao for Asian cuisine or just cook it myself at home. read more

After being put on an elongated hold to place a to go order, I hung up thinking maybe they forgot about me so I would call back. When I called back, the phone call could not be completed. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. When we sat down, we placed our appetizer and lunch order. The restaurant was not busy at all, maybe two or three other customers. It took a long time to get the appetizers, and when we did, we had to ask for plates. When the plates arrived, there was food stuck to two of them. Just a few minutes later the entrees arrived with food dried on and stuck to the plates. Now we had appetizers and our entrees all at the same time. The food was cold when we got it. Sadly we had the worst service. There was only one other table on a Tuesday afternoon and had a waitress who didn't know the sushi items. We ordered and another person brought our water but never saw our server for 30 minutes. There was a lady who seated us who was sitting there folding napkins. So I had to go find her because we were supposed to get our soup and salad yet nothing. I asked the lady who was just sitting there if we could get our soup and salad but she told me to go ask our server. Finally our server came to our table and said our food would be ready soon (40) minutes later we asked about the soup and salad she said oh did you want that now? Once she brought our salad she said our food was ready but she was waiting on our sushi we said bring it out (was room temp when we got it). To too it off we got charged a hefty 20% gratuity because we had 3 adults and 3 kids. 20%??????? By then we just paid and left I would have asked for a manager but it appeared that no one was in charge. I've gone there several times and it's gone downhill every time I come back. We went to the Sunday buffet. It was small selection of small amounts of bad food. When a food ran out on the buffet that dish was not refilled. Plates at the buffet were dirty and we had to ask for more. Service was non-existent. Pho came with the buffet, but only two kinds of pho, chicken and beef. We were not notified of this. We did not get our pho until 30 min after we ate the buffet, and we had to ask for it. I would never eat here again. There are much better pho restaurants in town, and any of the Chinese buffets are better and cheaper than this. read more
