It took about 5 minutes to be greeted or acknowledged, but the hostess was nice enough when she finally appeared, so no big deal. The bag with my food was waiting on the bar unattended. There wasn't much business, so I shrugged it off. I got home and discovered the bahn mi roll was freezer burnt. I was so excited to try it. I haven't had bahn mi in years. I have had beef pho and bbq pork vermicelli salad here along with fresh spring rolls and fried spring rolls. All were great. Service was great as well as atmosphere. The iced milk tea with pearls wasn't too good. The pearls were so hard I couldn't chew them and the milk tea was bland and powdery. I considered this an upgrade to fast food Asian. The ambiance is ok, clean and well organized. The host was not nice or cheerful but I was ok with that. We had the vermicelli with pork which was great. It was fresh had good flavors. Made me think of healthy fast food or healthy Asian. We also had the wok with seasoned chicken but the chicken batter has. A strong flavor and it was super greasy. I want to go back and try their pho. The thing about this place is that it tries to be any Asian cuisine: Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese etc. It is kind of weird. I would defiantly go back. A fabulous gem... when enter this fabulous location you are bombarded with authentic Asian aromas filled in the air. I love pho it just feels like healing food. Its a great low calorie guilt free flavor that you can enjoy. I truly have started seeking out pho on days I'm trying to eat light but want to treat myself. I highly recommend next time you go to see a movie make time to pop in and enjoy some phenomenal flavor. Pro tip....ask for a second plate of bean sprouts and veggies. Second time here and both times were great! Best pho thus far and I've been to several in this area. The vermicelli bowls are filling and give you lots of meat. I recommend the grilled pork vermicelli bowl. The bahn mi sandwiches are delicious, the bread is how it should be, crusty and chewy. Will be back. read more

Went to Lemongrass for the first time tonight. I got the steamed dumplings to start and was very pleased. The Pho was amazing! I got it with brisket and it's easily the best pho in Tallahassee. I love Lemongrass for the authentic flavor and it's a go-to because they consistently deliver good food. The service fluctuates because of what seems like high turnover, but I honestly have good interactions with most servers. I love the vermicelli salad with chicken, substitute summer roll and extra peanut sauce! Their pho, bahn mi, and clay pot are good, too. Delivery order. I ordered Pad Thai but it didn't look right. Maybe it was Pad See Ew given the wide noodles. Either way, it did not travel well. Low on flavor, very little chicken, and the noodles largely fused together. The coconut soup was too heavy on the fish sauce, which I otherwise like. The summer rolls didn't have much in them other than vermicelli and shrimp and there was not enough sauce provided to give flavor to that volume of rolls. I'm torn about this review because the food is really great, but I just want advise anyone who wants the boba/bubble tea. I suggest to have the employee to at least try the tapioca pearls(boba) before serving them. I had a very disappointing experience; my boba were like stones. The pho broth was good. That's the only reason it gets two stars. I don't know if they're understaffed, or if it was the server's first day, but at least she seemed sweet. Otherwise, ridiculously slow and obviously needs training on how to simply put food on a table without dragging her sleeve across three plate. The meat was nothing but grizzle. They did bring replacement meat after I piled up all the grizzle on a side plate, but by that point, I was frustrated and done. I like Lemongrass. The was my second time there. The first time was okay. I don't remember what I had, so it's safe to say it wasn't really memorable. This time I had Vietnamese spring rolls for an appetizer. They were very good. The Pad Thai with beef which was my entree was excellent, although not as spicy as I would have liked. I had trouble with the noodles staying on my fork and I would suggest having a spoon to help control the noodles. They were of a size I'd never had before. read more

Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with my experience at LemonGrass. I ordered a To-go order, upon my arrival I waited at the front hostess stand. I noticed 2 employees; one sitting with their back to me at the bar and the other on the other side of the bar leaned over the bar, both on their phones. I waited about 2 min until finally the one employee with their back to me turned around, only because I jingled my keys to get someone's attention. It was a complicated check out process and it seemed employees didn't have much knowledge of what they were doing-BUT I excused that because I know how it can be to start a new job, not be trained properly etc. etc. I was even more disappointed to find that my food was absolutely terrible! I ordered the two roll special-a philly roll and a crunchy roll. I eat sushi all of the time, from all sorts of places-high end places and even smaller, inexpensive places. They didn't give me any soy sauce in my to go bag or container-a staple sauce completing a sushi dish. This is definitely the worst I have had in town so far, and i've grown up here! Maybe it was an off day, or a slow time-but I was extremely disappointed and would suggest any other sushi place in town. (I can't speak for any other menu items) read more

First of all, the location is really tucked away. We had trouble finding it. The restaurant itself was more sophisticated than Far East Cuisine in terms of atmosphere. However, it felt somewhat cramped and is smaller than their previous location. I came expecting Far East Cuisine's taste level but elevated. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I ordered the Thai coconut soup because I had missed it. They brought out the wrong soup, but quickly fixed that. The Thai coconut soup was watered down, and it was definitely not the same soup that I've ordered before at Far East Cuisine. I wanted to try something new at Lemongrass, and I decided to try the Sriracha seafood. It was not really worth it. It was basically a brown sauce with some Sriracha added. Others tried the clay pot dish, which was not bad. All of the sauce was at the bottom though. The Vietnamese fried rice was pretty good. Overall, we paid around $72 for the meal, including non-alcoholic drinks. It was not worth the price we paid. I may try it again, but if I do, I will be sticking to what I've ordered in the past at Far East Cuisine, or I would try the buffet on Sundays. read more

I have never been to a restaurant where they offer it at different times. Also- the hostess was initially going to give me a lunch menu- and the manager isn't urged or Gabe her a dinner menu. I was also underwhelmed when I had been so excited for Lemon grass to open due to lack of Vietnamese food in Tallahassee. I ordered coconut soup and pork vermicelli. The soup had an odd aroma and taste unlike any of the hundreds of servings of Tom ka gai Ive had over the years. The vermicelli was not bad and had a sufficient amount of pork so yes it may do alright for take out if i cannot find better elsewhere in Tallahassee. My standards for Vietnamese food are high because I lived for 12 years in Orlando which has excellent Vietnamese restaurants in its Mills /Colonial Avenue district. There are several other excellent Thai restaurants in Tallahassee so need to come here for Thai. Also the table lámps are positioned over tables so they sin right into your eyes. The only thing saving this review is the food itself. I ordered the California and the shrimp tempura from the lunch menu and it was very good. I also loved the atmosphere. Other than that.. can't find much good to say. I really didn't like the customer service here. First, when arriving there's nobody manning the hostess stand, and some lady had to run from the back after I had been standing here to seat me. It wasn't very busy when I arrived maybe three tables. Then I waited over 5 minutes for someone to even get my drink order. (Which they apologized for) The same lady who seated me stopped by my table to say someone would come get my order soon. I guess they only have one waitress. When she came I asked her what sodas they had and she couldn't even tell me. Whatever. Next. Then upon ordering I asked for my soup to be substituted to another soup and she said she would ask how much it was. Came back and said it would be $1. When getting my check it was actually $1.50. And it's not about fifty cents it's just the point of the matter. The whole experience was just blah. I don't hate that I ate here but I definitely wouldn't go back. When I'm spending money I want to have an enjoyable experience. Maybe you get a better experience during the evening hours.
