I have been meaning to try this spot and finally got the chance when my parents came over with no dinner plans. We got the crab rangoons, chicken pad thai, 3 flavor whole tilapia, lemongrass dragon and rainbow roll. Everything was quite delicious and we especially enjoyed this fish. We finished everything! Prices were reasonable and service was nice and quick for carry out. It's nice to know that there's a spot that we can come back and get carry out from or sit in and eat. read more

We have tried Thai at another establishment which is not far from lemongrass and they have amazing food. That other restaurant was not accepting orders so we found lemongrass online and ordered from them. The food was amazing!! I'm so glad we have two Thai restaurants in Holland that we like. I'm looking forward to trying more items from their menu the next time we visit. Ordered the basil fried rice, crab rangoon and khao soi noodle soup. Everything was great! read more

I was happy to hear that the original owner of Thai Palace had returned to open the now Lemongrass Thai Sushi. You can still find your favorites from Thai Palace but they've really expanded their menu to include a ton of sushi, some Japanese appetizers and dishes and new specialties. My go-to dish is Drunk Noodles which tasted like what I remembered, delicious. They still use the thick fresh noodles which I absolutely love! The prices on the menu have increased but you still get a generous portion. I noticed they had Banh Mi on the menu so I decided to take that to go to try it out. It was pretty expensive though ($12) but they were really generous on the meat, which isn't very common, and it came with shrimp chips. The Banh Mi was good but I don't think I'll order it often. If they lowered the price to $8 or $9 then I probably would. I haven't tried their sushi yet but will be giving it a shot during my next visit. The staff was friendly and tentative. My parents and I had dinner together at Lemongrass on July 26. Prices here have always been somewhat high relative to other local restaurants, but we like the menu variety, vegan entrees, and quiet atmosphere. After ordering our entrees, our server asked us what kind of soup and salad we would like since these were included. When we asked what was available, we learned that there were no vegan (or even vegetarian) soup or salad dressing options. I asked whether we could do peanut sauce as a dressing instead so we could at least have salad, and she agreed that this was fine. We confirmed again that this was included with our entrees. The salad was just a small dish of cut lettuce, tasty enough with the peanut sauce but otherwise indefensible as even a side salad. We were disappointed but still enjoyed our entrees afterward. When our server brought the bill, we saw she had charged us for two peanut sauces. We questioned this, recalling how I hadn't even gotten a soup and she had agreed the peanut sauce could be the dressing for our salads. She said she was sorry but her manager would not budge on this because there were "no substitutions." The menu did not indicate this, nor did it have peanut sauce as a side, nor did it have sides of any sauce at the price we were charged. The "sorry" we received was more of a "you have to accept this" response than an "I regret putting you in this situation" apology. Why not tell us we would be charged before bringing out the peanut sauces? Why not get the manager to speak with us directly when we indicated interest in this after seeing the bill? Why lose customers with underhanded additions to the bill? We've been loyal customers to Lemongrass and various incarnations of Thai Palace over the years, bringing relatives and friends to eat here with us. We remember the days when Thai Palace had a dedicated vegan menu. Now it's become clear that Lemongrass doesn't value us equally with non-vegetarian customers. It's sad to lose a favorite restaurant, but I can no longer wholeheartedly recommend Lemongrass as I once did. read more

The noodles are over cooked in the pad thai. It didn't come with anything to eat with. Quality isn't there.

I would technically rate this 3.5 stars but I think if service improves definitely a solid 4 stars because the food is really good. The price-point is a bit high which is consistent with the previous owners but I'm happy to pay more for quality food. We ordered baby egg rolls (delicious) lemongrass soup (first time trying and loved it), a spider roll, ahi tuna salad and fried rice. They do not have soy sauce on the table so if you order sushi, you need to ask for it (which we found odd). Also, they brought the sushi out with no plates and no small dish to put the soy sauce in so we had to ask for that too. The spider roll we ordered was fairly mediocre. Some bites were "fishy" and some were fine. I would recommend that they come to the table prepared with the right dishes to serve sushi. The Ahi tuna salad was awesome! The tuna was very fresh and not stringy at all. I do wish they had provided a butter knife to slice up the lettuces more (or chop it up more in the kitchen) but we managed. The chicken fried rice was flavorful and delicious. We had to ask our waitress four separate times for a refill of my husband's Diet Coke. She would nod and acknowledge the request but then not deliver. They weren't busy so we were trying to figure that out. The only other negative is that we had a couple of baby egg rolls leftover and we asked for some sweet and sour sauce to take home with us along with the rolls. She said she had to ask her manager and then came back with a small container (about 2 TBSPs) and said that next time they'd have to charge for it. Two tablespoons is all we needed but if your customers dine in and spend $45 and have rolls left to take home and need a little extra sauce, it seems like bad business to charge for such a small amount. Especially given the general higher price-point of the dishes. We would definitely carry out from here again but will most likely choose to forego the dining experience. read more

I went on the day of the grand opening since they had the 1/2 off entrees deal. I ordered a few sushi rolls to share with a friend and the green curry. My friend ordered the tonkatsu. TL;DR don't go there for the sushi but you can go there for the Thai food. Service is bad and make sure you check your bill before paying. The sushi was not good. If you want sushi I would stick to going to Wild Chef or Mizu Sushi. The sushi fell apart when picking it up and I'm pretty sure they didn't season the rice at all (usually it is seasoned with some rice vinegar at the least) and if they did it wasn't enough because it tasted like plain white rice. The fish quality was average. Their Thai food however was quite good. The green curry I had was good and my friends tonkatsu was good too. I wouldn't say it's better than Thai Avenue in Zeeland but it was still good. Service was honestly bad. They messed up so many times. We had a little kid with us and so we asked for a kiddy cup and they brought a normal adult cup. We had to tell them 4 times (not exaggerating) we didn't need a high chair because they just weren't listening. While ordering we asked about their "Soho lychee" drink (even pointed at it) if it was a shot or a cocktail they said cocktail. When they brought it out it tasted great but when we got the bill they charged us for the soju lychee lemonade drink instead which was $9 as opposed to the $4 drink we pointed out to them. We were expecting them to switch it to $4 for us because it was their mistake but nope. They also forgot to take 1/2 off a few of the entrees so had we not been meticulous and checked our receipt we would've been paying a lot more. read more

Our first time visiting Lemongrass since the change from Thai palace. Overall I would say solid 4 stars. Service was excellent food was pretty good. We ordered the squid seaweed trio for starter it was excellent! I ordered the drunken noodles, I always order this dish when visiting Thai for first time. It was ok, a little too sweet for my pallet but well cooked. This main dish came with soup and salad the soup selected was Lemongrass and very good. The salad was not great instead of a ginger dressing which is typical they infused it with tomato, I'm not a fan. My wife ordered the rainbow roll and thought it excellent. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu read more

Welcome to LemonGrass!! How does one rate sushi? For me it's the size of the piece, the construction of the piece... (meaning how does it hold up to chop sticks manipulating the piece while you dip it in soy sauce), and ultimately the freshness and texture of the rice. Lemon grass is in my opinion one of the best sushi houses I've been to in quite a while. My first and last visit. I came in on a Sunday expecting to have a few drinks with my sisters. Our server was 17 and desperately needs some training. We ordered our food, and eventually canceled our order after finding out they didn't serve alcohol on Sundays (besides beer and wine). The "bartender" politely explained that they do not serve alcohol on Sundays AS SHES MAKING A FISH BOWL in front of my face for her Husband (cook?) to have. Rude. When we canceled our order, a lady offered our expensive squid seaweed salad on the house but we declined. Following our cancellation, one of the workers (a male) said "go eat somewhere else then." I made a Yelp account to write this review. My family and myself have eaten here twice now. First time eating. The music/atmosphere of the restaurant didn't really match. Music was some sort of soft Asian lullaby music which just felt weird. Also there was only one or two other tables that had anyone there. So it wasn't really busy. Atmosphere 2/5. The waitress was extremely new and skiddish. She kept apologizing and we hadn't even ordered yet. (little did we know it was for the rest of the evening.) First off she didn't take down an order of edamame, even though she asked what that was and I pointed to it on the menu. Secondly all of our food took quite a bit longer than average to come out(20-30 minutes), and when it did it came out staggered, so I watched my family eat while I waited for my Duck Curry. Service 1/5 One thing i will say is that the management noticed that our food was taking a long time to come out so they gave us complimentary banana fritters. Management 4/5 Now to rate the food Edamame 0/5 (since I didn't get it) Salad that came before duck curry 1/5 (the orange salad dressing that was suppose to season it was extremely sparse as in 2 tiny little dribbles, which is sad because it tasted pretty good) Soup that came before the duck curry 5/5 Tasted amazing, and my daughter absolutely loved it. Poke Bowl 1/5 The Ahri to Rice is extremely in favor of the rice. After a couple of bites it turns into a rice and tofu bowl. The tuna itself wasn't bad was was seasoned well just wish there was more of it. Dragon Roll (at least I hope it was the dragon roll, more on that later) 3/5. My wife said it was pretty good. Duck Curry 2.5/5 The curry was good, a nice mixture of sweet and spicy. (It was too spicy for my wife though) The duck was a little rubbery but not too bad. Banana Fritters 4/5 I personally don't like really sweet things and these were extremely sweet. But wife and daughter loved them. Second Time eating there We got the same waitress, not really skiddish anymore, but could still tell she was new. Place wasn't completely filled but was about half full so five or six tables including ours. Atmosphere 3/5 Ordering went well, just took about 15 to 20 minutes before we got our appetizers the edamame. followed by our food less than a minute after. So service 2.5/5 Now to rate the food Edamame 0/5 After such a long wait and on our second attempt was very disappointed. The top of the edamame bowl was coated in big chunks of salt, so much so that you had to scrape it off which is saying something because i like strongly seasons edamame. After the top layer of edamame the rest weren't seasoned at all and was just steamed soy beans. Which wouldn't warrant a 0 but my daughter loves soybeans so we popped a bunch out of their pods for her, she was gobbling them up the whole meal until she found one that had gone bad. I tasted it just to make sure, and it had indeed spoiled. Pho 0/5 The Pho came out barely hotter than luke warm. Tested it when i got home and my sink can get hotter than the Pho I was served. The broth was extremely bland, which is also a statement because I love to heavily season my pho. Even with all of the spice and seasonings i added it tasted extremely bland, mixed with the low temperature made it taste almost gross. The meat was barely cooked and borderline raw (I know with traditional Pho the meat is thrown in raw and the hot broth cooks it, but like i said was barely luke warm) Sushi (Includes dragon roll, california roll, and eel) 2/5 The eel and california roll was meh, but the dragon roll was a completely different roll than what we had last time, so either the first time was wrong or this time it was wrong, either way the second roll wasn't that good either. At the end of the meal they gave my wife a flower for mothers day so thats pretty cool. One last note before I sum everything up, while we were waiting for our food, not once, but twice servers tried to bring us food that wasn't ours. All in all if I had to sum up my feelings about Lemongrass is overpriced meh. If you want the same quality sushi for much cheaper go to Grand King Buffet. If you want better and cheaper Thai food go to Taste of Asia, Sabai, or Siri Things to improve on, train staff better, get more organized, get appetizers out sooner, and quality control for food that is leaving the kitchen. read more

I am writing this review after my 2nd visit. The first visit was horrible. Service was incredibly slow. Severs did not know a thing about the menu. We ordered gyoza, drunken noodles and the baked Atlantic roll. When we asked if the "baked Atlantic" roll was actually baked, out server literally said "it's put in the Oven so yeah". When it came out it wasn't anywhere close to a "baked roll" It felt like it took forever to come out. And the drunken noodles came out before our gyoza app did! I also ordered a double shot of tequila which was brought out in 2 separate shot glasses. Annoying. Tonight the service was a little better. Our server actually seemed as if she liked her job unlike the sever from our first visit. When we asked about some of their "cocktails" she said "oh idk I'm only 17" and when we asked about some of the sushi rolls she said "oh idk my cousin made the menu". I have been in the industry for over 10 years and it is SO important to know your menu. PLEASE TRAIN YOUR STAFF! They also don't serve liquor on Sunday, just beer and wine. I guess because of the liquor license they had or something We eventually put our order in but did not stay long enough to eat. The service and alcohol issue we looked past but the last straw was when our salad arrived. We order the spicy squid and seaweed salad $13. When it came out I was shocked at how tiny the portion size was. We politely asked our server to cancel our order because we were just disappointed. The owner came over and explained the liquor license situation and also gave the salad to us on the house but we declined. I really wanted to give Lemongrass a 2nd chance but I will not be returning. So I am going to preface this review with two things. One, I have been in the food service industry for 18 years; I never send food back. Two, I am gluten free and know how to cook a rice noodle. My husband and I decided to check out Lemongrass despite some of it's reviews. I am 22 weeks pregnant and thought a hot bowl of curry soup sounded good, and my husband wanted sushi. So this fit the bill perfectly. We were greeted and sat promptly and brought hot towels, so we thought that things were looking up. The server took our drink order, then promptly disappeared for over 15 minutes. When he returned with our drinks he took our order. For me the gyoza and the curry soup. For my husband, two spicy tuna hand rolls, a spicy tuna supreme roll, and two pieces of tuna nigiri. I will say the gyoza was decent and my husband said that the tuna nigiri is some of the best he has had in a long time. The buck stops here. When my husbands food arrived he received regular spicy tuna rolls. And the nigiri did not show up with the rest of the food. We asked them to fix the hand rolls. They brought out hand rolls the size of my pinky that were 3/4 rice. Honestly I think they had to Google what a hand roll was. My soup on the other hand was TERRIBLE. There was no flavor and the noodles were absolute mush. After several attempts to eat the soup, by adding soy sauce and chili oil, I finally decided to to send it back. Several minutes after I sent the soup back the manager came to our table. I explained to her why I didnt like the soup and how mushy the noodles were. She proceeded to tell me "The noodles are all starch, they get mushy when they are heated. Otherwise they are hard and chewy." I couldn't believe she acted like I've never had a rice noodle before in my life! She did eventually agree to take the soup off of the bill but rolled her eyes as she walked away. It still took us another 15 minutes to get out of that place because of how long it took to get our bill.
