I wish this had been a better experience. Our server was unattentive. Our table ordered one appi to share, and one memeber of the group ordered an entree and the server walked away....I guess assuming the rest of us were going to eat only the appi for lunch. We flagged down the server to order the rest of our lunch. Our appi and entrees arrived quickly, but one entree was so spicy hot it was inedible. Again we had to flag down the server to request a different entree. While waiting and waiting for this entree to come, we had to go get our own water refills at the bar. So now some in our group are finished lunch, a one hasn't had lunch yet because that entree never came. Flagged down the server, again, who told us the new entree wasn't available. I'm giving this review 2 stars because I've had a better experience here in the past, but not this time. read more

The food here is fantastic. The crispy string beans and the sweet rice with mango are my absolute favorites. However, if you're in a rush, don't even bother. I come here occasionally with friends, craving the food but not wanting to deal with West Street parking at the original Lemongrass. Lately, however, I'd rather just deal with downtown as the service has been very slow and frustrating. My last two visits have been pretty disappointing. Both have been on weeknights (a Monday night and a Wednesday night, at about 5:30). It wasn't busy, maybe 4 other tables at maximum, this place is pretty small. The food comes out quickly, hot and delicious, but once its out, good luck finding your server. Both visits, both my company and I finished our entrees and waited a good 20 minutes before our server showed up again. We finally could place our dessert order, and that came out a few minutes later, not from our server (who was nowhere to be found) but from a food runner. The runner didn't bring out forks or spoons to eat it with, and our server had cleared ours with our entrees. So we sat for a few minutes, while our dessert got cold, waiting for our server, a food runner, a manager, ANYBODY to come by so we could ask for utensils. Nothing. Finally I got up and walked over to one of the many empty tables and grabbed the silverware from there. Nobody noticed or said anything, not surprisingly. *Side Note* nothing to do with my review or my rating, but just an observation. There is absolutely no uniform or any consistency in the clothing of the staff. Our server had on jeans and a cardigan and Toms/Keds or something and the girl who ran our food was wearing an Adidas tshirt, skinny jeans, and flip flops? Not very safe for a restaurant (most require closed toed shoes), especially being in a kitchen and running trays of food, and honestly not very professional looking. Kind of puzzling. Well I hope this was helpful and definitely come in and try the food, either here or at the other Lemongrass, but be prepared to stay a little while. read more

This place use to be a favorite. The food just wasn't good. The Tom Yum Soup was chicken in chicken broth with undercooked carrots & tired mushrooms. None of that distinctive Tom Yum flavor. The pork dish sounded wonderful but was over cooked pork in a sweet sauce with almost raw vegetables. The Masuman curry & Pad Thai were ok but not great. The food is good, but the service and staff are so rude. No customer service. Two examples: 1. I brought in 22 people and asked for two checks, server said "I don't have to do seperate checks"....I said "I don't have to eat here"...so freakin' rude!! 2. A friend of mine asked if there was sugar in the Pad Pak, server said "no". She wanted the receipe and he went to the cook....told her everything BUT the sugar and she said "wow, it really tastes like sugar"...and he was like "oh, just a tablespoon of sugar". 3. Server aked me if I had eaten there before, I said "yes". Then he proceeded to tell me that I looked like a lady that at alone there one night and skipped out on the check.....nice!! I did not have the best carryout experience here. Ordered my favorite- Panang Curry which is fine at the Lemongrass on West street, but here I got the tofu version and I almost broke a tooth chewing into something really really hard. I HATE writing this but got to do it. Let me first say that the food is really really good and I really like it! I always get the Crying Tiger Salad and the Drunken Noodles w/ shrimp. Always good; shrimp cooked perfectly and the steak in the Tiger salad is amazing. It's the staff. Today, the hostess/server/bartender was bitching loudly within my earshot about being over-worked with no days off. I am hoping she is the owner/managers daughter or something cause she's useless. Employees in a restaurant should never complain of being busy! Another employee brought in some food from Whole Foods and commenced to eat it at the bar with a full house of customers at 1:15 with the Whole Foods bag on the bar! Even offering other employees some 'trail mix'. The whole scene was weird. Clearly understaffed. Or rather poorly staffed. Not sure what's going on there. But the food is really good. I know hiring millennials is challenging BUT come'on. Grow a pair and tell them to hit the road if they don't want to make hay when the sun is shining. They'll figure it out. Quick Post Script here! So immediately after writing this I received a "compliment" which was actually a thinly disguised snarky back-bite from a Sandra M from Nashville saying that "........you're right restaurant workers should never talk to their OWN friends about being tired from worked 40+ hours a week, and should not have 'feelings' blah blah blah" Must be the girl at the bar with the trail mix from Whole Foods!! The service was poor. We waited a long time to place our drink order because the bartender and the owner (who was sitting at the bar) were confused as to who was helping us. We asked for our soup first, but our soup was served with our main course. When we said we asked for soup first, the waitress apologized but did nothing about it. We've had a takeaway from here twice now. The food has been great both times. It has that lovely fragrant richness that Thai food should have. If you enjoy Asian cuisines and haven't tried Thai yet this restaurant will give you a pretty decent introduction. We haven't dined in yet but it's a little difficult with a boisterous four-year old. Yesterday we ordered Pad Woon Sen and Shrimp Pad Thai. The two were clearly prepared in a burnt pan. The expected flavor was gone and both meals tasted VERY burnt. Three Strikes time. Gave them one last try, and after being ignored for a while, I got my takeout of Beef Drunken Noodle. 1. The portion didn't even start to fill the little container, so for some reason takeout gets less then eat in, It looked like the portion you would have left over after eating in. 2. All the noodles were stuck together in a big blob in the bottom, none of the sauce was mixed into them, I had to peel the noodles apart and mix them into the sauce, 3. the dish had Count them. 2 pepper pieces, 1 green and 1 red, and 2 tomato pieces cut the size of a golf ball, other then that there was about 6 beef pieces normal size you would expect and the vegetables were crunchy and uncooked. So it seemed like the I got noodles from one pot, beef from another pot, sauce from another pot and they threw in a couple peppers for show and sent it out the door without ever getting cooked together. It didn't taste the best either. It was not awful. The texture was off because the noodles were all sticky the whole dish was kind of was sticky. If doubt I will return. read more

We are in town visiting relatives and just had a very disappointing experience. After being seated on the patio our server spilled an entire glass of ice water on my husband, soaking his shirt and pants. We ordered Spring Rolls only to be told they were sold out (at 6:30 p.m.). One member of our party ordered the Pad Pik Khing, which was described as a red curry with string beans and lime leaves. What was served was a few string beans, loads of green pepper, but no lime leaves. Next we ordered two orders of mango sticky rice for dessert but there was only one left. And finally the server brought the check and just when I thought she was going to tell us she was taking something off the bill for soaking my husband she informed us that there was a 20% gratuity included in the check since we were a party of 5. read more

I've been going here since I lived in Annapolis when they first opened. It's been my favorite Thai restaurant and since I moved I would drive from Baltimore city and now Howard county just for the green curry chicken and drunken noodles. In the last year or two it has gone downhill. The management seems to have a lackadaisical attitude and the service and food have been sadly inconsistent. On my most recent visits in particular, I've noticed that the restaurant is unclean and "sticky." The bamboo in glass vases look like they are a science experiment gone wrong. My favorite appetizer, the crispy green beans, was the first thing I noticed had changed. Sometimes it would come out crispy, sometimes it would be soggy and drowned in sauce. On my most recent visit I noticed that the sauce, which was always nice and salty sweet and somewhat syrupy, had come out watery thin and flavorless with no sweet component at all. When I brought it up to the waitress, all she said was "that's odd." There was no offer to talk to the kitchen, find out if they changed the recipe or offer something else. Just "that's odd." On other visits it seems as though the staff are just hanging around talking and shooting the shit with whom I think is the manager, texting or just uninterested in customer service. Tried this place out because of a Groupon deal. The restaurant is a little small, but very tastefully decorated. They have booths and tables on the side and a long, high-top table in the middle that can accommodate a large group. For the appetizer we tried their sampler platter. It came with 2 spring rolls, calamari, fried green beans, crab ragu, and chicken satay. I was a big fan of everything except the spring rolls. It was pretty bland. I loved how it came with 4 different dipping sauces -- a sweet & sour sauce, peanut sauce, vinegar-y sauce, and a balsamic-y sauce. Definitely a good start to the meal. We split an order of drunken noodles and fried duck. They were very accommodating with the level of spiciness. They made it mild and brought out a personal seasoning tray so we could add our own level of spicy-ness. This was a major plus for my husband and I since he likes things much spicier than me. The fried duck was good, but you could hardly tell it was duck anymore since it was fried. I probably won't get that dish again. I thought the portions were a little small considering the price, but the flavor was good. If they have another groupon, I'd probably buy it, but otherwise, I think other Thai places have better value for the money and taste just as good. read more

We have gotten take-out from here a few times and it is always fast & the food is always very good. We live within walking distance but have never dined-in, so we decided to walk over and give it a try over the weekend. The food was delicious, as usual. Everything came out quickly, hot, and delicious. They were happy to substitute a few things for us, which is always nice. The staff was very friendly as well! My complaint is the outdoor seating area. It seems like they have neglected this area and it kind of puts you off your food. There is nothing they can really do about the view, but maybe adding some foliage to disguise the parking lot might help. If you are facing away from the parking lot, you are staring at a huge disgusting dumpster and discarded items strewn alongside the restaurant. Not exactly what you want to see while you're eating. Also, every single plant that is outside is dying or dead. There were bits of trash and food underneath our table as well. A restaurant should be clean and well maintained in all areas, so hopefully this is not a reflection of what the kitchen looks like. The food here is really good, and the location is super convenient for us. I think if the owners/staff just put a little time into improving the outdoor area, it would do wonders! I have been going to Lemongrass Too (as well as the other locations especially Crofton) for 6 years now. Since we moved to the area. We took some guests from the Phillipines who were visiting to the Lemongrass Too location and we bragged about the food and service before oour arrival. I can honestly say that I will NO LONGER go to this establishment. I had one of the one of the most horrible dining experiences ever, and unfortunately it will effect me patronizing the other 2 locations. All things seemed good at first, but then our waiter (Travis) disappeared. SO after the food was brought out by some lady in the kitchen, we asked the hostess (who would not give us her name) for plates to share the food. She told us that they do not normally give out plates to eat from because each ENTREE was a single serving. After insisting for teh plates, she only brought out 4 plates for a 7 person party. All the ENTREES came out with serving spoons, so I had to get up and go get serving spoons myself (since our watier was no where to be found) The hostess was rude when I asked where our waiter was. We never got any refills for our drinks and when asked for take home containers, the hostess just dropped off the containers without saying a single word. By this time, the waiter (Travis) was spotted talking and laughing behind the bar. The hostess gave us our bill (which included a 18% gratuity) and our waiter did not even come over. Probably because of the number in our party meant he got his tip no matter what. I then asked for the manager, and she was just as rude and didn't care. I asked for a number to call to complain, and she said that she could not give out that number. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT, THE SERVICE SUCKS AND ALL THEY WANTED FROM US WAS OUR MONEY. Very disappointed with this location. Our noodle dishes came out very fast and were mostly burnt. They were also completely missing the complexity that I have come to love of Thai dishes. Shortly after getting our plates, the cook ran out and announced to the servers that she was going on break and would be back in 20 mins. At this point we realized why our pad see ew and drunken noodles were burnt and bland, and left. It was our first time at this location and we will not be returning. I don't usually do these, but just had to come on here to say this was the worst experience i've ever had. it seemed like everybody there was new....except one older gentleman who was nice enough in the end to not have us pay for anything. One of the girls in our group didn't have to pay at all because she could not eat her meal. It took an hour to get our meal, and then not all of us got our meal and had to wait even longer. I finally got mine when some of the others were half finished eating theirs. After we finally got our meal the server was nowhere to be seen. My dish was extra spicy. I love spicy food, but my lips were actually a little numb. Since the server had not come back I had to actually yell "excuse me" across the room to another server (since he was not looking around the room) to ask for a refill of drink. I was sweating so bad and face turning so red the other ladies with me had me drinking their drinks! Will not go back..... read more

It's a cute little place with outdoor seating patio. The servers are pretty fast since it's a small place. We've only been here for lunch and it's a great three course lunch special. I am not picky, and have never bothered to post a negative review of a restaurant before, but my experience at this restaurant is worthy of mention. The restaurant had a very strong odor of dirty sponge/mop. Even the table tops smelled awful. There were two waiters, and their attire was really inappropriate for food service. One young women wore old looking jeans and a t-shirt, while the other wore a long crochet looking shawl. The waiter with the jeans went from table to table wiping them down with a cloth, but did not wash the cloth, had no disinfectant spray, did not change to another cloth, or do anything to ensure cleanliness. Neither women gave the impression of cleanliness. My friend and I were both so turned off by the odor and the visuals, that the meal, though it may have been good, really made little impression. My friend just loves the place, so maybe it was a one-off, but my experience was bad enough to not to want to go back. It's a lot less crowded than the location on West Street. I haven't been thrilled with the service when I have gone there. The servers seem kind of aloof and snotty as though they have much better things to do. I get the impression that some of them are Johnny's. I could be wrong though. The food is pretty good, but a little pricey. I like the drunken noodles and the crab rice. The mango sticky rice is excellent. My husband likes their version of the pepper steak. I don't recommend it for children. The entire restaurant just isn't very kid friendly and there aren't many choices for them. read more

First visit ever, left a bad taste. We have wanted to try Thai and thought Lemongrass was the answer. Upon arrival at 2:50 pm we did not see any employees. Seated ourselves. Waiter arrived to our table to inform us that we had 3 minutes to place our order because they were closing the kitchen at 3 pm. We ordered an appetizer and entree before the 3pm deadline given to us. While waiting for our food, we watch the employees turn away three other couples who arrived. They explained that they were closed and would reopen at 5 pm. We were not permitted to order any additional food or dessert because the kitchen was closed. Really relaxed, calm atmosphere with great food! I tried the Lemongrass Ginger Mojito off the drink menu and it was delightful. My friend recommended the Drunken Noodles, which I will be getting again for sure! read more
