They ruined our bath tub and wreaked havoc on our house unnecessarily. Inexperienced plumber removed unnecessary pipes and cut out a vent and other things. Multiple days went by before a master plumber came out to fix what was messed up. Quoted $950 to fix the ceiling the plumber cut into that didn't need to happen. Now we have a destroyed bath tub, destroyed molding, and a complete mess. Spilled PVC glue on our original hardwood floors. Hand prints and dirt everywhere. Bath tub was in great shape before and now it's permanently stained and scratched. It has been 24 days and Len the Plumber has not sent reimbursement for their horrible work. Average service for an exorbitant price Needed to replace a widespread faucet in the bathroom. Tried to do it myself but the old one was stuck in place and the space under the closet was very small. Decided to call for professional help. Called Len midday on Sunday attracted by their high reviews and promise of same-day service. Spoke with their AI assistant that quickly scheduled the visit for the next two hours. I was a happy man for two hours until I realized that nobody is coming, and I likely lost the valuable time to schedule a same-day service from a reputable provider. Called Len again, spoke with a live person. She said that nobody is available to come to me right now (so much for their same-day promise). We scheduled it for Friday next week. On the morning of Friday, the technician could not find me initially. The address was misspelled in their system. It required several phone calls to clarify. When he arrived, he complained about the difficulty of the project (dude, I know it is tough or I would have done it myself). Quoted an exorbitant price close to $1,000 - for a faucet replacement! I was pressed for time and had to agree on paying them around $750 - still very expensive. The technician could not do it himself and called for support. Together with another Len plumber they did the job. Bu when they asked me to inspect it, one of the valves was very lose. The technician fixed it, with much grumping about the young generation that cannot do things right. When leaving he asked me for a five-star review. After several days passed, I can say that the new faucet works well. Still some aspects of its installation are not perfect, something that you would be OK as DIY but below expectations from a professional install. read more

My water heater was leaking a few weeks back so I called to have this company come out and look at it. I was never told whether or not it was fixable all I was told is I needed to replace the water heater (ya, no kidding). When they gave me the quote they refused to tell me how much of the quote was just for the water heater, which seemed odd. Any other service will give you a breakdown of the costs but not these guys. Given the serious nature of needing it replaced I feel like I was taken advantage of a bit and taken for a ride. I certainly would not use them again unless my other options were exhausted. I called Len to come take a look at a Grohe faucet handle. I specifically asked if they work on Grohe. The rep replies, yes yes we do specialize in Grohe. I made an appointment. When I received a text the tech is on his way this morning, I called again the company directly verbally asking are you sure you specialize in Grohe faucets? His response was, "oh sure we do. The tech knows what he is doing he is very good with this brand." The tech arrives and takes one look at the faucet workings in the wall and states, "I've never seen one like this." Me: I thought you were a Grohe specialist? Tech: No, we do all faucets. But this one is different. He takes pictures and tells me he needs to talk to his supervisor. I pay him the $49 fee and he leaves. I spoke to the supervisor, amongst others things he stated he would not work on a handle that has been removed by someone else. Tell me, what do plumbers do? He also stated he would charge me $379 just to research the part needed for the faucet, that's an additional cost to the actual part and installation. Then he states the best route is I replace the entire system with a different brand, which would include a tear out of the plumbing guts from the wall which would amount to minimum $1300. There is no leak in the pipes, but he actually thought it was the best route instead of ordering a part from Grohe and installing it. I should not have had to pay the $49 trip fee for the simple fact they lied. Not once but twice on the phone. They are not Grohe faucet specialist. I'm sorely disappointed. We paid $800 and the issue was never solved. We were told that the situation was so unusual that the plumbers would need to break through an exterior wall to get to the problem. The plumbers struggled communicating with us and they would need to bring in a manager on the phone to explain what they thought was going on. The manager was not on site so he didn't understand either. When we began to realize that there was an issue with the employees and the work this company performs, we said "We'll pay you to put back together what was taken apart yesterday" I was told that they plumber wouldn't come back out until we paid the deposit for the large sum of money to finish the complete job. It felt like blackmail. I said "don't come back out here until I decide on my next step." The next thing you know, the plumbers arrive back at the office, so they've wasted their own time and they're essentially forcing my decision to pay them when I was debating completely moving on. I paid them hundreds of dollars to put back together what they took apart and then I moved on. We hired a new plumber who then told us the solution was easy, no walls needed to be taken down and he'd move the hot water heater to a more accessible place in the office for future maintenance. read more

I tried the membership for a year, overpriced and the techs, while professional, would always try to upsell me on something each visit. At $17/month, per residence, it would be cheaper to just pay for an annual HVAC inspection. They wanted to charge me $2,000 to replace a shower mixing valve a few weeks ago, I hired a local handyman who did it for less than $500 and of good quality. I've been stewing on this for a while. A Len the Plumber tech replaced a leaking bathroom vanity faucet on March 1st. A couple of days into April I noticed the new faucet was leaking. I called to report this and was told the repair was out of warranty and a new ticket would have to be created! $600 for a one month, shabby repair. Len obviously hires inferior workmen to only warrant their work for 30 days. I will never consider this company for any repairs. read more

I hired Len the Plumber last week to fix a leak in my kitchen ceiling, and unfortunately, my experience was incredibly frustrating. A plumber named Kobe came to inspect the ceiling and claimed the leak was coming from the bathroom sink above the kitchen. He said he needed to buy new pipes and would return the next morning. The stores were open and he could have bought the pipes immediately, but he wanted to delay the work. When he showed up the next day, he had no equipment and stated, "I need to get your pipe size." I was shocked, as I assumed he had already checked the pipes the day before. He went to the store, came back with the wrong pipe size, and had to return to get the correct size, which delayed the process significantly. Once he began replacing the pipes, Kobe assured me everything was fixed, and I was charged $1,800. However, the leak continued, and in fact, it had worsened. I called Len the Plumber to report the issue, and the woman on the phone said a service manager would call me and that another plumber would be sent. After a long wait with no follow-up, I received a text saying the plumber would arrive between 2-5PM. I waited, but at 4:30PM, I called and was told no plumber was coming. I was never notified of a cancellation, which was extremely frustrating, especially since I had already been dealing with water damage. Finally, after more complaints, I was able to get a new plumber. This plumber confirmed that Kobe had used the wrong pipe and went to purchase the correct one. However, he didn't properly assess the entire bathroom to determine the true source of the leak. He simply replaced the pipes Kobe had installed, and I was told the issue should be fixed. Unfortunately, the next morning, the leak had not stopped. I then contacted a different plumbing company, and they informed me that the leak was actually coming from the toilet's main supply, not the bathroom sink. This means the sink pipes never needed to be replaced in the first place, and the work done by Len the Plumber was unnecessary. In addition to all of this, Kobe also dropped an equipment item onto the hardwood floor, scratching the surface. Please see the attached pictures for evidence of the damage. The leak has finally stopped after the proper repairs were made by the other company, but I'm concerned that the pipes replaced by Len the Plumber were incorrectly installed and might cause future issues. I've called Len the Plumber several times to report the poor diagnosis and unresolved leak, but despite promises from the service manager that they would contact me within 24-48 hours, I have received no follow-up. Len the Plumber has been unprofessional, unresponsive, and ineffective in addressing my concerns. I strongly advise you to be cautious before using their services. They failed to fix the problem, caused additional damage, and provided terrible customer service. I requested service for a busted water pipe in my home on the evening of 1/31. I was advised a technician wasn't available then but would visit on 2/1 within a 4 hour window. We waited. Received no calls or advisement and it was only after we called back 30 minutes after the appointment time that we were told a technician was not available and we would have to wait another 24 hours to see one. I've used Len the Plumber before (hot water heater), and was happy to find out that after three years, they're just as great. My a/c went out, and this is not something I can deal with in a DC summer. As before, I made a call, and by the end of the day, my unit was fixed. I'm working with a 17 yr old unit, so I didn't have high hopes, but I'm confident it'll get a bit more time before the whole thing quits. Jairo was the technician that fixed our a/c, and he is definitely the one you want if you like to be part of the process. He was very thorough with his explanations and educated me on how the system works. I really appreciated this, I felt like I was following along and not just being told what to pay for. We had a pinhole leak in water pipe that was threatening to take down a large part of our main floor ceiling. Len-the-Plumber responded immediately and scheduled us the very same day for service. Luis Posas was the plumbing engineer who showed up and took care of the problem. He was quick, efficient, responsive and educational. He explained why these problems happen and made us feel informed and confident that the leak issue would be resolved. What a waste of time and money. While my service tech was on time and very courteous, I was hit with a $195 diagnostic fee I was NOT informed about prior. This fee would be waived, of course, if I went with them. They "kindly" waived the $49.50 additional travel fee I was also not told about. SMH. In Contrast, John Flood came out on time, spent 2 hours evaluating and provided an estimate prior to leaving. Excellent! Michael &Sons arrived early, provided free estimate and was thorough. Lowest price was Michael&Sons. BUT, the thoroughness of Flood was impressive. I negotiated their price down a little and will go with them. We had to call Len the Plumber yesterday to complete a water line replacement we couldn't find the right adapter for in local stores. They were here in about an hour and had our valve installed very quickly. Luis was professional and courteous, and he got the job done efficiently. Our only complaint is the price tag for installing a single valve - more than $500 (fortunately we did have a coupon to take a bit of that off)! Again, If I could give zero stars I would. Based on our experience, avoid this company at all cost for installations. We paid for a brand new HVAC install last year. Every piece of equipment has had to either be replaced or fixed. Their answer is that they only install. They don't manufacture the equipment they install and thus cannot be blamed for any defects. Had a no heat situation with my Rheem furnace. Tech came out and said it was the igniter so he replaced it. Didn't fix anything. Then he figured out it was actually the gas valve and replaced that. Bill came out to almost $1,300. The igniter was never the problem. I kept the old one and there's nothing wrong with it. So I paid $580 for a part that didn't need to be replaced because the tech got the diagnosis wrong. That's not my problem to pay for. I've called over a dozen times trying to talk to a manager or someone in billing about this. Every single time I get transferred around, told someone will call me back, or sent to voicemail. Nobody ever calls back. At this point it's pretty obvious they're just hoping I go away. A universal igniter is like a $30 part and takes 20 minutes to install. Even if it actually needed to be replaced, $580 is ridiculous. I get it, I was desperate for heat and that's on me for not shopping around. But the runaround I've gotten trying to resolve this is almost worse than the bill itself. Zero accountability. Go find a local HVAC company instead. read more
