So, last night I was in town and decided to go to Lenny for dinner. I couldnt not go for his delicious chicken franchise that I remembered from when I used to live in the area and frequent his place. I was sad that the dining room wasnt open, but I dealt with it and sat in the pizza part of the restaurant. Well, everything arrived to my table and I started with the most delicious round loaf of warm bread slathering it with butter. I told the sweet lady who delivered it, how good it was. She said, Lenny makes it with love. Boy, she want kidding. It had the most delicious crunch and soft inside. Lenny!, you are the best!!! The chicken franchise came out, delicious and I had it with a side of angel hair. Im so glad I treated myself to my favorite place while back in town. Definitely recommended. I was told the dining room is Open Wed thru Sun and on the other days, you can get the full menu, for takeout or sit in the pizza section when you first enter. Mangia!!! read more

I have been coming to lennys for over 20 years on and off and the food is always consistent. Its a simple pizza place with the restaurant on the opposite side, closed off from the counter so you have some privacy. The fresh baked bread that lenny makes is excellent and the menu is not complex. Everything is fresh and tastes great, no bad meal here. I usually just have dinner and not the pizza (though I'm sure it's great) BEST CHICKEN FRANCESE EVER! Only con is no expresso machine??? Come on lenny, buy another one! read more

Had the mushroom, onion, Gorgonzola slice which the girl behind the counter encouraged me to try. wow , what a treat with caramelized onions, fragrant mushrooms and just the right amount of Gorgonzola! Lennys is my favorite New York pizza place! My dad has been going there for years - he is A local - and every time I visit, i'll go there at least once. On my last trip out to Long Island We actually went twice! One night we had some pretty delicious pasta dishes (Alfredo and carbonara)and the other evening we had the wood fired East NY pie- it was perfect!! The service is fast and friendly food is delicious and the prices are fair! I highly recommend it and can't wait for my next visit! read more

Mariana slices were very good. The pepperoni slice was pretty big abs good too. The pasta fagioli was okay. We originally ordered a sausage a pepper roll but when she said they microwaved it to heat up we changed our mind. I would definitely get pizza again from here. This review is a year in the making. On July 25, 2018 my Wife, my Daughters and I were exploring Long Island New York as we celebrated our 26th Wedding Anniversary. Ron S at Jamesport Vineyard recommended Lenny's as the best slice around. Now, we grew up near Chicago so there are some preconceived notions towards New York style pizza but we were hungry and had to try it. Ronnie our waitress made us feel at home from the time we were seated. This is a unique restaurant with a stunning dining room and bar on one side and a casual hang out place on the other. Ronnie explained that the owner and our chef that night was a former baker and took great pride in the product he puts on your table. We couldn't agree more! What we thought was going to be a Mom and Pop pizza experience far exceeded expectations. It was a fine dining experience that was unexpected. The food placed upon our table was fabulous. From the very fresh ingredients to that top shelf sauce to the crust it all rested on. Oh, that crust. My mouth is watering as I write this just thinking about it. We apologize to the fine folks at Lenny's for taking so long to share this review. We recently celebrated our 27th Wedding Anniversary and still reminisce about that day in Jamesport. It's long overdue but thank you Ronnie for the hospitality and sharing the owners passion with us. This review is months in the making. I started with the 5 stars the night I left Lenny's because the rating was never in doubt. It had been a while since I patronized the restaurant for the simple reason I moved out of state. Lenny's is that strip center authentic Italian trattoria that every community needs or at least should have. I would give up one of the free Government handouts being promised to have Lenny's pizza joint in every town. It doesn't matter if you know Lenny or not when you leave his place it's like you have been Goobahs forever. He makes you feel like family and his food is fantastic! Lenny's pedigree is all about flour and water mainly pizza dough, bread, and pasta. Trust me he knows his stuff. His baked dishes are what you would expect cheesy with the homemade sauce not too sweet. check out the eggplant. Fish dishes are always a hit and perfectly done. Portions are generous like your grandma would give you on your first trip home from college. Yes, you will go home with a goodie bag. This is a place where you could eat more than once a month heck you could eat here more than once a week. The service is welcoming and efficient. I highly recommend this place. One other thing whatever you do "Don't forget the Cannoli" it is so worth it! I'll be back the next time I am on the North Fork. read more

Lennys is a slice of life right in town! I have never once been disappointed since first coming here. Not only is the pizza great , but so are all the other fine Italian foods . I've had sizable calzones , eggplant parmigiana, veal parmigiana, angel hair pasta, spaghetti , baked ziti and all the rest of you favorites and have never been disappointed. They also have some nice salads. Lenny is a very friendly gentleman and he always wants you to be happy. Weather up front for some slices and a drink, or in the attached restaurant for a more atmospheric dining experience you're sure to return for to enjoy this great food on the North fork. The chicken caesar slice was scrumptious as well as the chicken parm slice with bacon. I swear Lenny's uses a different type of cooking oil/water because everything here is immensely fresh and mouthwatering from the moment you open the door. The portions are hearthy. I also had the chicken parm entree and it was to die for (made with love!!!) I can't wait to return the next time I pass through the area (usually to stop by at Tanger Outlets in Riverhead). First time trying, got a buffalo chicken slice and Sicilian. Niether were special... Buffalo chicken was drenched in oil, and they wanted to charge $1.50 for ranch when the slice was $6 already. I must preface this review by admitting that I am not from New York and am not familiar with Brooklyn style pizza. The bar tender at the Hilton Garden Inn, Riverhead, recommended this restaurant as the best Brooklyn style pizza available in eastern Long Island. I don't know if that is true. But I do know that this is some of the best pizza I have had. Ever. I was here twice and had pepperoni once and sausage once. They were both great, although I preferred the pepperoni. This by no means suggests that you should not order the sausage. Wish I had more time on Long Island and could have tried the rest of the menu. The service was excellent. Stopped by here because Grana wouldn't take us even tho half of the place was empty. We just got slices but they were delicious. The mushroom with caramelized onion was amazing. The buffalo slice was very good too. The stuffed sliced was filling. The rest of the family liked their slice. The crust was crispy but the pizza wasn't dry or overdone! Highly recommend this place if you are on your way home from the vineyard and are looking for a quick and inexpensive place to get food. read more

I was staying at a local resort. Didn't feel like going out to one of the near by restaurants that we have eaten before many of times. So I looked up pizza in yelp and Lenny's Pizza can up. Food looked good on the pics and they were open later then the other places. So we gave it a try. I called in the order for pick up. Said pick up in 15 min. The place was clean and they had a nice selection of different pizza and other Italian dish's. The staff and owner Lenny was super friendly and helpful. We order the the wild mushroom pizza. Also wanted hot tea. Lenny informed us the hot tea and coffee machine was off already. we ordered about 30 min before closing. So I asked may I buy someone tea bags. The owner said hold on and went and found some teabags and said no charge. That's was really nice and he didn't have to do that. He went out of his way. Thank you. I also bought some ice cream tartufo. When we got back we open the box and the pizza smelled so good. The pie was a nice size. Lots of mushrooms and caramelized onions. They didn't hold back or cheap it. Plenty of toppings. It was delicious. Very good pizza. The ice cream was good also. We were very pleased with our meal. Don't think twice and give this place a try. Really want to be able to give this place higher marks, because the food is excellent and they do their best to accommodate people. Really, we were a party of ten coming in at closing time and they fed us delicious food and kept the restaurant open a full hour beyond closing. Unfortunately I don't think this establishment deserves business. One member of our group was repeatedly touched by the owner, who said several times "I want to make a pillow out of your hair" how weird and inappropriate and frankly racist is that. They were also weird about us taking home a couple small containers of salad dressing, saying it would be recycled to another table. Icky! Do not patronize. read more

Not enough good things I can say about this restaurant!! Not only is the food amazing, but the owner himself came to my fiancé and I with top service. He was ready to get us any and everything we needed to make our experience great and it showed. It is easy now-a-days to get mediocre service, but he made sure it would be an experience to remember! This place is very low key and the service is slow... but it doesn't matter the food is 100% worth the wait. You must get the mussels, and the eggplant appetizer!! I ordered the veal Parmesan delish! Monday, 8-20-18, just had Lenny's pizza for takeout with my family and got scummed $3.50 and a rude hang-up without getting to speak to a manager. I should start with when I called, got the lady on the phone, ordered the salad, and the Neapolitan Pizza then asked for the wild mushroom pizza with sauce because I didn't want it dry and I love mushrooms. I was told "sorry the chef said we can't add sauce", thought this was a little strange that they can't make a pizza with sauce but that was ok, then I follow it up with ok I'll take the East NY pizza with "mushrooms, caramelized onions and meatballs" then again I was told "sorry we can't do caramelized onions on non-specialty pizzas" now I was starting to question whether I should eat here because I'm thinking they're already frozen prepared. I decide to stick it out and get it with raw onions, so $10.50 for the 3 additional toppings. I go pick up the pizza with not many people in the joint, smells great, I'm already happy thinking "Yes mushroom pizza smelling great, even though I didn't really smell much just steamy cheese". Get back to my beach house, open up the boxes and that's when I just about lost it. THERE WERE NO MUSHROOMS ON THE PIZZA! I Call them back and tell the girl what happened and then she hangs up, call them again after being hung up on, tell them the situation again and then after a few seconds I get hung up on again. At this point I'm furious, but I ate a slice of the pizza, and it was delicious, so I call back 1 last time and get put on hold, although this time 3 minutes go by and no one hangs up. Then the girl gets back on the line and tells me to bring back the pizza so they can add mushrooms on it, I'm thinking I just explained that a slice had been eaten and it's a pretty far drive, plus I work in a kitchen and that'd be nasty and dry to add mushrooms after the fact. I ask to speak to a manager and I'm told Lenny is cooking and they're very busy. I said ok, I can wait a few minutes thats fine, my family will start to eat the other pizza she said "sorry sir but we need this line, and we don't have time to deal with you". I said politely ok, that's fine I'll make sure to tell new tourists and locals how this place is then hung up. If I like the food I give it at least 2 stars which frankly it was good pizza, but the service was terrible and working in an Irish pub myself we have rude people all the time, but after repeated hang ups it was enough to make me give it only 2 stars. read more
