I wouldn't normally expect to find tacos, burritos, and Mexican-inspired dishes from a pizza place, but they absolutely nailed it. Note that there are NEW OWNERS so previous reviews may not all apply. Let's start with the fact that pizza (like barbecue) draws STRONG opinions that easily lead to fistfights! Let's keep it civil folks! The pizza is fine. Probably not your very favorite of all time, but that's OK. Good thin-ish slightly crispy chewy crust. We liked it. The big news here is that they have added Mexican food to the menu. When I first saw this I rolled my eyes. (What are the chances that they can do pizza AND Mexican well?) but I was very wrong. So far I've only tried the birria nachos, and they were superb - MUCH better than what I usually see at most restaurants. Be aware that this was made from scratch, so takes a little time to prepare and serve. Relax! Please note that I believe that English is not the first language for the staff. No communications problems (their English is superb) but what some reviewers called stand-off-ish may simply be due to the language thing. (They are very nice but not Disney-chipper!) OK. In spring of 2024 I was doing a lot of work at my house solo from the fam so Roma was my go to for Italian food. It didn't disappoint. I tried a lot of their dishes and very tasty especially linguine and clams. Spring 2025 I just ordered linguine and clams and was excited for a nice meal. What happened? Pasty and not a lot of flavor. I know new owners. And now they offer mexican food. But come on. You are an Italian rest. Focus on the quality or your Italian food. We've ordered from here a few times when in the area. We had regular cheese pizza, bacon and pineapple, wings and salad. The pizzas are great. We were surprised that their bacon and pineapple pizza was perfect! Bacon shall and crispy and real pieces of bacon and the pineapple was cut small and perfectly combined with the cheese. The Greek salad was hands down amazing!! We opted for chicken also and boy did they i clise a generous amount fo chicken! It was perfect. The wings were also deliciously fried, yet not greasy. Small local pizzeria with small restaurant in the back. Nothing special, very casual. Portions are very generous. Food was good. Service was ok and very slow, but the waitress was very nice. We were only table in the place late on a Sunday evening, so I guess I expected it to be faster service. It was 8:30 and we were starving so it was first place we found that everyone agreed on. The lava cake dessert is what brought us here. My girls said it was good, but the ones at dominos pizza are better. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My chicken parmigiana was tremendous portion. Chef Willy is back, and so is Joe in the front!! Years ago we used to come here on Fridays. Last year we had to stop coming because everything had changed for the worse (food quality, specialty slice options, speed of service, customer service in general, etc.) When we heard that everything had been fixed and brought back to normal, we reluctantly gave it another try this year. Well, I am SO glad we did! It is back to normal, with amazing specialty slices and a ton of options (always FRESH again, too!!), incredible customer service, and food is brought to us very quickly. I never give one stars, but I make an exception here. After a long week work, I ordered a plain cheese pizza on a Friday night, about an hour before closing. I was put on hold for a long while, and was told 20 minutes. I've ordered from here before - it's around the corner from my house but I honestly like others better, and knew 20 minutes is usually undershooting it at this establishment. So, I took my time and got there 30 minutes after the call. I thought it was weird that there wasn't any pizza on top of the oven where they keep orders warm, but figured they just were running slow. There were four people standing around (I think - couldn't make out what they were looking at) a phone, and no one even looked up at me. After standing there a while, I heard "can I help you?" In the tone of voice you'd use for a small child invading the candy jar. I turned around - the youngest of the workers was looking at me with a crazy smile/smirk. I said I had called in an order for a plain cheese pie - she had a vague face of remembrance and started searching the counter. I stepped back as I watched her go from person to person, whispering but obviously asking everyone if they had put in the order. Other than the guy actually making food, everyone else was completely zoned out and told her no. She even grabbed someone from the back and they came up to look at it, and that person also told her she hadn't put in the order. I'm really not that difficult. Just tell me what happened and offer good customer service. What happened instead is, the girl looked at me laughing, and told me it would be "a couple of minutes". I went up to the person who had come from the back and asked if they had forgotten my order. "Huh?" "Did you guys forget to put my order in?" "Yah" "So you have to make it now, Bc no one put it in?" "Yah" "okay please just forget it" "yah okay". I don't know why the customer service was so terrible or how they could forget the order. There was nothing in the ovens, on the ovens, as far as I could tell there were four people behind the counter doing nothing, one guy making food, and one other customer in the place. Making one pizza seemed like an easy like 20 bucks, Bc this place is also (relative to other pizza places in the area) really expensive. I tried to remember a time I ordered food and the order was just simply forgotten, and you could almost understand if the place was super busy, or they apologized and made it right. Not what was going on or what happened. I went outside - too late to call espresso. I called Michelangelos in mattituck - they said 20 minutes. I drove there and went in - there was one counter girl who said hi as soon as I walked in, stopped cleaning, and asked if she could help me (isn't that how it's supposed to go when you're spending money to buy food?) I told her I had ordered a pizza ten minutes ago but I would wait Bc it was obviously not ready yet. She said I had gotten there just in time, rang me up, and a guy walked up with my pizza ready to go. Kind of reminded me of how customer service is supposed to go. I really try to be as understanding and forgiving - i don't have these crazy standards when I walk in a place, I try not to ask for too much or make a huge mess etc. but if I don't get any food and the customer service is really horrible, what else can I give other than one star? ‍ I'll never go here again, which is a shame, Bc I live around the corner. But I'd honestly rather drive a while longer and go to espresso (which is really awesome) or even michelangelos than go here again. facepalm UPDATE - I tried this place again. I was running late and decided to order delivery - there's a huge neon sign in the window that says "we deliver". Came to find out there's a FIFTY dollar minimum for delivery, and as noted above, I live around the corner. The quality of the pizza has also drastically fallen off - please see the picture. I have not been here in years due to some bad experiences such as forgetting a take out order and then making us wait over a half hour and still no take out and a dated, dark and dingy dining room. Things have changed including the name, they are now Roma Pizzeria but kept the same menu and staff. The name Michelangelo was the Cutchogue location. There is also a Michelangelo's in Southold and Mattituck. The Cutchogue location was the "Original Michelangelo" All 3 have the same menu. Are you confused by now? Hopefully the new name will make things simpler. I ordered the Angelina Capelinni for $19 take-out and it's enough for 2 people. It consists of capellini, tomato sauce, chicken and artichokes. It also comes with bread and a small salad. Staff is friendly and they renovated the dining room. It's so much brighter and clean looking. Gone are the dark green duct taped booths according to the jovial manager/owner. Nice place to go during the winter season for a big, reasonably priced Italian meal or take out in the summer. read more

Terrible experience. Ordered by phone and told 20 minutes. Had to wait an additional 15 minutes for food. Not busy there at all. Arrived home to see the pepperoni and meatball pizza looked like a plain cheese pizza. Looked like staff took one tiny meatball and crumbled it on pie. No more than 15 quarter sized pieces of pepperoni on entire pizza. We have been getting pizza from the pizzeria for over ten years. We were extremely disappointed with the food. I would say that most of the pizzas you find east of Rt 112 are very similar. By their own admission it's the same recipe as Michaelagelo & you can find those all over the east end. It's a good regular cheese pie, that's it. The rest of the restaurant menu may be phenomenal but I'm just rating the pizza. Pricing is typical & service is pleasant. If you are in the area please please please do not overlook Roma Pizzeria... the food was awesome ... my 7 year old twins gobble up their chicken fingers & French fries, my wife's Italian grilled chicken entree was phenomenal, and between my twins and my older son we put away the large pie. My older son who lives in Bedstuy Brooklyn commented that this pizza was much better than a few places he visits in his neighborhood. I called to order a Sicilian pie and they told me that they were out of dough. I get there 10 minutes later and ask about the 4 Sicilian pizza doughs in their baking pan. I told the woman that I had just called to order a Sicilian pizza and she responded that they had just made the dough! Now I am no baker, but I know that it doesn't take 10 minutes to make 4 pans of pizza dough! Such a shame since they're close to home. Highly recommend this place, staff is friendly and chef willy is great at what he does . Food is always hot and tasty. I ordered a special (forgot the name) but it had delicious big shrimp with mushrooms ,tomatoes,bacon and melted mozzarella cheese . My boyfriend ordered calamari in a cherry pepper marinera sauce (mild spicy) the food was beyond amazing. The portions were plenty i could only eat half . The pastas came with a house salad with a very tasty vinaigrette dressing. It also came with a variation of toasted sesame bread and garlic knots with sides of butter . Two ways to enjoy...takeout or eat in. On the sit down side, try a pasta dish ( I had the capellini with chicken) and a soup (excellent Tortellini Brodo) or a Caesar (order the small). There are limited options when it comes to delivery on the East End, so to even have one is great. However... if you are going to offer the service then it is something that needs to be provided. When you order something at 12:04, you shouldn't have to call at 1:45 to find out where your food is to then get a snotty reply from the girl answering the phone. No apology, no excuse, no nothing. Just, "yeah, it's on the way now." So, great - - cold food. Can't wait! Horrible service. And get to wait 2 hours, as it is now 2:00 and the food is still not here. Sadly, this is not the first time.
