I usually come to Yelp to review a restaurant either because I really enjoyed it or really thought it was terrible. I never thought of writing a review for where I live. That being said, I have lived here for over a year. I relocated from Sacramento, CA. I love it. Getting into Boston is so easy. The T stop is 1 mile from the front of the property. The town home style is perfect for me. Attached garages to the apartment and I live on the second floor. I feel obligated to retort some of the complaints... We had a pretty bad winter, not having to lift a finger to remove all the snow was also a nice perk. Storms happen and it is a large property. Preparing for weather is something you'll have to do where ever you live. I'll say it again, NEVER HAVING TO LIFT A FINGER FOR SNOW REMOVAL. It's pretty nice. I looked at a lot of places in the area, not just Braintree either. I read some of these reviews and I cannot begin to imagine where the complaints are coming from. RT 3 is along the property and while I don't live along the RT 3 side of the property, it shouldn't take away from the apartment and how nice it is. If you are looking to live here and you don't want to live near the highway, tell someone and they won't offer an apartment that is near the highway. Pets, yeah, people have them, while I don't own one myself, some people don't pick up after their pets and it is frustrating. Management sends out notices and tries their best to prevent it by providing dog bags throughout the property. I LOVE the 2 guest policy at the pool. I actually have a place to lay out and enjoy the water and sun. If there wasn't a policy, it wouldn't be as nice. If you want to have a party at the water, go to the beach it is not far. Apartment living isn't for everyone, but just like owning a home, when something breaks it has to be fixed. Fortunately maintenance comes usually same day to do everything from change a light bulb to unclogged toilets. Other things alarm me about one specific review, so I looked at my lease. If you go to a tenant at will status (Month to Month) it is $1000 plus your current rent. Not $2000. My increase this year was 5%, which I found reasonable. If you have questions about your renewal, ask the more than capable office staff. They are great. I can't speak to vacancy rate or anything like that, but I can say these are true luxury apartments. Granite, Hardwood, Fireplace, Garage... The bells an whistles. You won't pay one time fees, just rent and a deposit. I give Lenox Farms 4 stars because it is tough get 5. The company have different properties throughout the area and country. You can transfer with them easily as well. Overall this is one of the better places you'll find. For what you get, it is much cheaper than Boston Proper. read more

Lenox Farms is great if you want a place that's easily to qualify for as far as move in requirements - and the floor plans are generally spacious and while living there I haven't had an issue with maintenance as far as getting things done relatively quickly and within the time frame I required. It is also close to the highway - i.e. - right on the highway if you want to get to Boston in decent time, or use the T. The problems however outweigh the positive elements by far. Packages - they can go to USPS box, they can go on your doorstep or they can end up in the Parcel Pending unit - no rhyme or reason as to what goes where and if you forget to pick up a package you're charged $3 per day. Pet waste - The complex is literally covered in poop - every grass verge. They provide bags but so many people, not all, simply do not use them. So if you have children, be careful and of course, while walking around yourself, do the same. If I wanted poop to be covering my neighborhoods I wouldn't choose a luxury unit. Snow removal - removal of snow happens and it done well, but they are lazy when it comes to putting down salt on the steps etc which resulted in me suffering a concussion. Garbage - A "luxury" development yet the garbage area is sat right out front for all to see, not only are there 3 massive dumpsters sat out for everyone to look at - they're a consistent mess ... with management unable to get this under wraps. Often sending out desperate emails that are lengthy, pompous and have little to no effect. Gets tiresome when you are someone who manages to put their garbage in the unit. Note this is such a luxury development that the garbage area has LIVE CCTV trained on it 24/7. What the hell? Gated Community - no it is not, yes technically it has gates but in 2 years they have never worked - so giving me codes for the front gates and blah blah-ing about how safe it is doesn't make any sense. The gates do not work, period. They have never been closed since I have moved in. Massive rent increases with no justification - it may seem affordable/reasonable when you move in but after a lease renewal and rent hike along with the fact it doesn't live up to it's claims as a luxury community, you'll be wanting out, and you'll certainly be wondering what you are paying for. Management - the girls working in the office are helpful, management themselves, mainly the assistant property manager send out long winded, pompous emails that have little to no effect, and that sound as if they are coming from the desk of the president - and not one of our better ones. It gets tiresome seeing these emails on almost a daily basis. Getting treated as if you're in kindergarten by management gets old, and being that the 7000th garbage plea has had little to no effect, it's probably time to take a different approach. read more

Signed the lease for 13 months here in January, we've had issues here and there in the beginning. Maintenance took about 4/5 days to complete them which isn't okay. The big issue I'm having here is a MOLD issue in my garage. Almost a month now, no resolution whatsoever. They put 2 air dryers that's sucking up electricity...can't wait for that bill they won't credit us for anything...I have a 10 month and our garage is used for storage, car seats, carriages etc. which I'm going to need to throw out because of mold in the area. I can't wait to leave this place. Sadly, lease is up April 2019. read more

I have spent 3yrs at this Lenox Farm complex-UDR property- I have to say that this is a very well managed and maintained complex. For me personally having a young son it was excellent service having a lifeguard on duty every day during the pool season. The management takes great pride in the appearance of the grounds and all of the buildings- on going maintenance and upgrades of the units. The location is very convenient to Rte 3 and expressway. The clubhouse is beautiful and very family and pet friendly. read more

My finance and I have lived here for 9 months and I am SHOCKED to see the negative reviews! We are nothing but pleased with Lenox. We love the staff at the club house and all the maintenance people are SUPER nice! We put in a work order and it's taken care of within 24 hours! The apartments are super high quality. Hardwood floors beautiful high arches, granite countertops and each unit has a balcony. I don't think the rent is too high for what you are getting. The pool is always busy but I don't find that a bad thing at all! We have only been here for 9 months so I can't speak to the high rent increase but so far we have been nothing but amazed by this place! read more

We absolutely loved living here. We only moved in about 5 months ago and unfortunately had to leave due to job relocation. We were sad to leave because it has been so amazing to live here. The buildings are beautiful inside and out. The updated apartments are wonderful. Hardwood floors, updated kitchen, large walk in closets, high ceilings and your own garage. I would live here forever if I could. The noise level was never an issue for us. We were very close the highway, but could only hear it when the windows were open. I always felt safe in the neighborhood and everyone is very friendly, especially the office staff! The landscaping is beautiful and the snow removal was efficient and fast. The amenities are better than I have seen in my past apartments as well. We have a very skittish dog, so it was really nice to not have anyone living above or below us and there were plenty of areas to walk him. I can not think of any negatives to living in this community. I would highly recommend living here and wish we could have stayed! read more

This is by far the best rental experience we have had. From our first communication inquiring on the property - the responses were quick, friendly, and professional. That has continued to be the theme during our first year here. On our first tour, I particularly appreciated that we were asked a lot of questions about our lifestyle and budget to ensure that we were presented with options that were right for us - and we found a great space. The apts are very well done...clean...and modern/ updated...and when something is broken/ needs to be addressed - we have been EXTREMELY impressed with the speed in quick the maintenance folks respond. Other: - the location is perfect (super quick access to the highway) and in a very safe area - grounds are kept beautifully and in the winter it means a lot to not have to own a shovel - people that live here are very friendly - gym is of the best I have seen in an apartment community - if you have a dog its perfect and you are near some great dog parks We love it here...so much so, our plan was to only stay here for a year, but we are actually looking at staying another year at Lenox Farms...and who knows, maybe longer! read more

He's a gentle giant who who knows his stuff, exemplifies a customer service-focused approach and hasn't faced a service request he can't fix in record time. My wife, one year old child, and I moved into Lenox Farms a year ago (August 2013). Before that point, we were living in Boston before our daughter was born in a 1BR apartment and were looking for more space but still close to Boston as I work downtown. We were extremely happy with our experience at Lenox Farms. The staff is very attentive to any issues you have in your apartment (which did not happen frequently) or questions on billing or other issues. The townhouses are very well built and high quality, especially with what you can find in Boston. The commute to Boston isn't bad - I took the red line into work and door-to-door it was about 50 minutes, a little north of an hour on a really bad day. We had to move out of Lenox Farms because we moved out of state, but if we still lived in the Boston area we would definitely renew here. There are a lot of complaints in reviews on Lenox Farms being overpriced. After living in the heart of Boston, Lenox Farms is a very good deal. We didn't have any problems with neighbors. If you are looking to rent a place but need to be close to Boston for work / other reasons and don't feel like paying Boston prices, we think Lenox Farms is a very good option. read more

I lived in Lenox for 2 years after moving from Florida. I was looking for quality and convenience and I found both in Lenox Farms. I knew I would not find the amenities I was used to, in the city, and I was not disappointed with my choice. The location is perfect with easy access to the red line as well as Route 3. I loved having such easy access to the city as well as the South Shore. The management team is top notch. Any issues that I had were resolved the same day. Having my own private, attached garage was huge plus for me and the management's immediate response to snow removal last year made the record snow fall tolerable. If I had not moved out of state, I would still be there. You won't be disaapointed. read more

Lenox Farms, is a great community to live. I've been a member of the Community for the past 7 years. I have found the Management Team to be very receptive dealing with problems and concerns of the community. I stop in the office every morning to say hello after getting my coffee. I've alway been received well as Amber, Andrew and staff, engage in quick friendly conversation with me. Always a good start to my day. The maintenance crew, Scott, Jonathan and Ron are very attentive to problems and repairs. I never had to wait unreasonably. Once they are notified, the solution I know is just ahead. read more

The worst place you could ever stay at. Watch out for the water bill that very expensive even if you are not there. Noisy neighbors and Management is very bad. Poor customer service and horrible service. The quality of the building and all the appliances are third rate. Cheap and be careful it does not burn your unit down. They don't fix anything and they increase your rent. Horrible people and very bad management of the property. Someone should look into this property as they are scam artist playing on people's desperation for a place to live. Not worth it! Learned my lesson the hard way. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!! PROS: Apartments look nice, proximity to T and Boston CONS: NOISE, EXPENSIVE, management does not honor lease agreement (re: noise, see below), dogs everywhere, no recycling, poor trash disposal, charge for everything . . . . . I'm going on my second year here (and that's only because my husband and I had moved every year previously for the past 3 years and we were SO sick of moving). That said, we have an upstairs neighbor and a neighbor beside us on our bedroom side. Upon moving in: the guy upstairs was no problem but the very first night here the people adjacent to our bedroom kept us up ALL night because their kids did nothing but scream their heads off til 10pm. Yes, that meant that if we wanted/needed to go to bed before 10pm we were screwed. We asked them to keep their kids quiet but all they did was keep the kids from banging on the wall but the screaming never stopped. We bought a white noise machine for $50 and that alleviated the noisy insane kids, fine, not too big a deal. Unfortunately, the guy upstairs moved out and the people who moved in are TOTAL A$$HOLES and the loudest people ever. This is not BS when I say that every morning at 5am I am woken up by them stomping around their apartment. The white noise machine does not work. The only thing that works is keeping headphones in all night, constantly playing something. They have a dog that is so dumb it barks at everything: deliveries, people standing outside the front door, people coming to my front door, etc. And it barks incessantly but the management here has done nothing about it. They claim to have spoken to the neighbors about the dog but nothing has changed. Now I understand about "apartment living" sounds but this place is not built with anything better than spit and bubblegum. If you have a$$holes living above or beside you then you will be miserable here because the management will not enforce lease policies or they will blame it on "apartment living" and tell you suck it up or move apartments. Even if you have normal people above/beside you as we did with the guy who lived above us originally, you will still hear everything from the sound of cabinets closing to the sound of the toilet flushing. I have lived here for a little over a year and a half. Here is what you need to know before you consider moving here: 1) Since management has changed here things have gone done hill. While the place was pretty and new when we moved in, the exterior of the buildings have begun to show wear and nothing seems to be being done about them. The black balconies and railing have the black paint peeling off with rust showing through, the paint is starting to peel on the trim of the buildings, and the stairs have the concrete crumbling. 2) There are a large number of dogs on property and there is always dog mess left around. 3) We had a problem with the trash compactor-it was breaking every other day and it took months for them to replace it. Hoping the new compactor works out and we don't go through that again. There seems to also be a problem with tenants not putting the trash actually in the compactor and just leaving it outside. It makes a mess. 4) I contacted maintenance a couple of weeks ago because the water filter in my refrigerator needed replacing. The old management company had come, replaced it without incidence. When I called this time, they showed up to replace it and told me it would be $40 to have to replaced. WHAT?!?!?! I pay almost $2000 a month in rent and you then want me to pay for the $40 filter. I don't think so. 5) We have an online system for a tenant message board for tenants to write in, ask questions, get ideas, etc. One tenant the other day wrote in a complaint on the board asking what was going on with this place lately siting many issues going on. Instead of letting other folks comment and maybe getting some real feedback about this place, or responding to it for all tenants to see, they took the easy way out and deleted it. Great customer service..... 6) I wrote to them today to ask about ending my lease just two months early since we are having our first baby and live in a one bedroom. We decided to buy a house a little earlier to help with our growing family. Since I was giving them 4 months' notice about wanting to end 2 months early I figured they would be helpful and work with me. NOPE! They told me my only options are to stay for the length of the lease or do a 2 month buy out. Two months is what I was asking about so how does that help me?! We have never been late on a rent payment, have never had a complaint against us, have been model tenants, and this is how they treat us. The manager called me (I admit, this was nice to get a call directly), only to have him tell me that it could be discrimination if he helped some tenants and not others. Total easy way out answer given by management and not have to actually be helpful with their tenants. To them it is all about just getting their money. Other companies work with their tenants to find solutions, not this one. They should be working with their good tenants so all come to an acceptable solution. They don't even offer to post the opening now, 4 months early to see if it could possibly be rented. Thanks for nothing. Overall, I would say shop around before coming here. The rent is expensive for the level of service you get here. read more

Don't live here: there are too many cons (notice that the only 5 star is from someone that doesn't actually live here?): *No recycling - to be responsible you need to go to town to drop it off. *There is one trash compactor for the entire complex that is often broken - you have to put your garbage in your car and drive it to the compactor. *There is dog waste everywhere - check out the email sent to everyone in the complex on 1/31 - copied below. *You pay for water and the billing cycle is months behind - you get hit with $200-$300 water bills. *Heat is expensive as the units are not well insulated. *Snow removal is loud and occurs at 3 or 4 am. *You have to pay to bring guests to the pool. *You pay for the shuttle. *You have to pay a huge fee even if you are moving within the complex to another apartment. *There is always changeover in the management office - when you ask them for help, they site company rules. *If you don't keep track of your waterbill, you get nasty emails saying that you are past due. *The rent is expensive - when I moved in, I was told that it probably wouldn't go up since we were already paying a high rent then it goes up $200 a month in 1 year. Email sent to everyone in the complex on 1/31/13: Pets: We are very proud to be a pet friendly community. Over the last couple of months, the pet waste issue on the property has become increasingly worse. It is the responsibility of the owner to pick up after their pet. Management should not have to pick up after your pet because you have decided that you do not have to do so. When your pet is out on the property or on the walk-ways, it is up to you to make sure that any mess is attended to. We have conveniently placed dog walking stations throughout the community in an effort to make this less than desirable task easier for everyone. Residents are urged to come forward with a description of any resident that they see not adhering to this policy. Any resident that is not picking up after their pet or found to have let their dog off of a secured leash will incur a $75.00 fee per incident. After two incidents, management will have to make a determination on if the pet will have to be removed from the property. This is not something that we want to do, but we want to be clear how serious we are regarding this issue. We are a community of people that live close to each other. Respect for your neighbors, their home, and their community is expected; just as you expect the same from them. Many of you already live by these simple rules. I currently live here at Lenox Farms and going on my 4th year. This company does NOT CARE at all about their tenants. what they do is get you in with some promo like a month free for example and then once you sign look out!!! Each year they jack up the already high rents well over the normal minimal increases that many other landlords do especially to good tenants that pay on time and everytime. This place is over priced to begin with. The experience is like buying a car with these people. I have personally spent an entire day going back and forth with management on their proposed increase. We did go back and forth and they finally came down a bit and told me that was their final offer. we reluctantly signed for another year recently. The next month the same apartment size was renting for 75.00 less per month that what i just signed after negotiating all day long!!! Currently they have a unit like mine available for 150.00 per month less than what i am paying. We are bullshit with this UDR company and their used car salespeople staff. Bottom line to anyone who reads this is stay away from Lenox Farms and any property owned by UDR. Water bills for this apt are more than when i was in my house. There is some scam going on as an apt of 1300 SF should not average 80.00 a month for water!! Other tenants are about the same so it is not just with me. Seriously 80.00 a month?? They do not care at all about their tenants. I have seen many friends move out of here because they wanted to raise their rents SIGNIFICANTLY only to now be asking far less for same apts if you walk in off the street. I have been living here for over 8 months and do not regret my choice. I read through all the reviews when I was deciding where to rent after selling my house so I want to add to those reviews now that I have solid experience living at Lenox Farms. First of all, the property is quiet. I have never been bothered by anyone having parties, loud music, etc. I do hear my neighbor through the wall sometimes but I accept that as apartment living and is typical from what I have experienced sharing walls in other complexes. The complex is nice to walk around, especially along the long entry road. I used the pool a number of times over the summer and it was so nice to have that available! The management office sends out reminders about trash disposal and pet waste clean up. I have not noticed an issue with pet waste, but have seen the ongoing issue with the trash and recycling area. The problem is not with management but is a result of people not using the compactor correctly, or leaving garbage in the recycling area. Overall, I enjoy living here. It isn't perfect, but no place is. I have not had any issues with the people in the office. Eleni is especially receptive to any message I have sent. I truly value the shuttle to the T. There is a fee for this, but well worth it to me given the cost of parking at the T and the shuttle driver is a lovely woman I enjoy chatting with. I continue to shop around as I'm always interested in what else is out there. There are less expensive places but I love having a garage attached to my unit, and my experience here has been good so that holds a lot of weight when thinking about cost and quality of life here. read more

A shuttle bus driver of this company hit my parked car. The company will not even give me the name of their insurance company! Just told I would have to wait until their insurance company contacts my insurance company. It has been more than 2 weeks and we are still waiting for a response. They tell me "we are a big company and have to do things a certain way." I would never rent from this company if this is any indication of their customer service. I would give them a zero star if that was possible! I sincerely question the eye sight of their shuttle driver. read more

Absolutely horrible. They are so accommodating and welcoming before you sign the lease and once you are locked in, they are the rudest, most condescending bunch of people I have ever come across. Besides their unhelpful attitude on lease & billing issues, their lack of attention in their job is astounding. Multiple times the property has looked horrendous with household trash everywhere and trash pile ups in what is the poor excuse of a receptacle. Be prepared for the Monday after a holiday for there to be bags and bags of trash overflowing. There is dog poop EVERYWHERE. As for as the units, The problems are endless. My unit was not properly cleaned out before we moved in, management had told me as such. They blamed it on being in "transition" from another cleaning associate, however did very little to fix the "mistake" they made. Trash was stuffed into the air vents, old food bags were in the garage and the carpets were filthy. I mentioned this to management numerous times that the carpets seemed unusually dirty, and especially old/dirty for the price of the unit. Management assured me that they were recently replaced and that I was going to have to live with it. However after speaking with neighbors after I noticed some units getting replacement carpeting, a replacement far nicer than what I had in my unit, they told me that no carpets had been replaced in my unit and they had not seen any carpet removal before I moved in. Now with paying upwards of 4K a month in rent for a 2 bedroom townhouse, you would expect appliances to work correct?? WRONG! Now I'm not expecting Wolf or SubZero quality here, but I am expecting to boil water in under 45 min. Numerous times I had to email maintenance about the quality of appliances. And numerous times they had their service professionals out to "fix" the problem. That would work for about a day and then the cook top would be broken again and then oven would read the wrong temperature. I had to purchase a thermometer to place in the oven, and come to find out when it says it was supposed to be at 350 degrees, It was actually 230. This gets a little old and frustrating if you are trying to cook....anything. Now I don't like complaining as much as the front office thinks I do, but when I was told I could "buy my own appliances and they would be happy to install them" from Andrew in the Leasing office, I was absolutely appalled! Next appliance issue was the washer- 6 months in, it stopped spinning. Clothes were filled with water and you had to dry them twice because you were putting them in the dryer sopping wet. Maintenance said they would drop of " a brand new washer for me". I figured this was their attempt to make good since we consistently seemed to be having issues with things working in our unit. When I looked at the washer they installed I was met with complete DIGUST. They installed a old, used (not NEW like leasing had told me) washer filled with leaves and black mold. After running it to clean it, I actually had them come back and give me back the washer I had Originally had. Just a couple things to think about if you are considering Lenox Farms as a place of residence: 1) Water Billing issues. Keep track. 2)Safety. My neighbor had packages stolen from his front step. And this place is not "gated" as they market it. The gates are open from Nov till May. It's "not for security purposes" as the leasing office told me when I mentioned that they were consistently open at night. Look around for other places, don't get fooled with the "presence" of the place and the "gates". You are paying Boston prices for a poorly constructed, poorly managed excuse for a townhouse next to a highway. So glad our lease is done and we are out. read more

We have lived at Lenox Farms for almost 6 years and love it. We looked at many other complexes when we were searching for a "temporary apartment" after we sold our home and found Lenox Farms offered everything we needed and then some. We enjoyed the apartment so much we're still here and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. We enjoy how spacious our townhouse is and love how it feels like a private home. Maintenance has been great in our experience and love that we just put in a request and it is taken care of it a timely manner. The maintenance manager has been really responsive and is always willing to go above what is expected. Management staff has changed quite a few times since we moved in but despite some of the recent negative reviews I have found the new manager especially to be helpful, knowledgeable, and by far the best we've encountered during our stay thus far. I think some of the comments of poor management or unfriendly staff have been resolved as I have learned they are either no longer with the company or have moved on to other positions. All in all, a great place to live and I always recommend this complex to anyone in search of an apartment. read more

I've lived in Lenox Farms for a year and there are pros and cons to the community: Pros: --I do think the complex is beautiful and well constructed --Service requests are answered promptly --I love the new community website, where events are announced and people can meet up --Attached garage is nice --Apartments themselves are beautiful --There are lots of kids around, which is good if you have one yourself. The playground is nice. --The complex is well lit at night, which is good and bad. Good b/c it makes you feel safer. Bad if there's a bright light outside your window all night. --The leasing office staff is very nice and helpful. Cons: --Noise level is surprisingly high... I could hear stomping in the apartment above, every garage door opening, and the music playing at the pool --Space allocation in the apartment is horrible. I don't need gigantic bathrooms and kitchen, but I would love more space in the living room, bedrooms, and closets. --Now that the complex is full, parking has become more difficult. I don't mind parking far from my apartment in the summer, but I bet it's going to be annoying in the winter --Snow clearance was not great. After they promised to clear the snow promptly, I got stuck trying to get out of my garage while trying to go to work at 9AM. Of course, last winter was especially bad so this isn't entirely their fault. --Everything is new, but not necessarily well constructed. Our hot water went out multiple times. --Due to the influx of residents, it was really hard to get into the pool at the beginning of the summer. They required pool passes and I couldn't even get a chair to sit in. --People do not clean up after their dogs! We don't have a dog and still ended up having to pick up dog poop several times because it was right outside our door for days. --The rents are outrageous. Much higher than anything else in the area. Bottom line is that Lenox Farms is a nice place to live short term and it was relatively pleasant. There is very high turnover, which I think is due to the high rents. If you're going to be living in the area for a year or two or are looking for a temporary place while house-hunting, I think Lenox Farms is not a bad choice. But I doubt anyone would live there for more than a couple of years. read more

After being treated like dirt from my last apartment complex by the University I was attending (The Peninsula apartments) I decided it was time to move. I knew I wanted to get further from the city and more towards the suburbs for a more quite experience. Thats when a friend of mine suggested Lenox Farms as a new place to live. I moved in within a month of the suggestion and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Lenox. First, they allow dogs and that made me so happy that I could have my dog live with me rather than at my parents home. Second, maintenance is always here to help. Unlike my last apartment that only had one maintenance worker here they have many. I no longer have to wait months for something to get fixed. At most a few days which is way better than waiting forever. Another thing I love about Lenox is how quit and family oriented it is here. Its nice living in a place with lots of life during the day but than gets quite at night. Lastly, as for the office employees they have always! been willing to help and talk about any issues I am having with my apartment (which aren't many).
