I have been here twice, both times with my sons to get their eyes checked. Let's jump right into this review. This location is inside the Westfield Shopping Mall located in Culver City. It's near the JC Penny and Sheik, first level. Pros 1. Large LensCrafters with a variety of eye wear options. 2. Online scheduling available. 3. Staff is very helpful and professional. Cons 1. The waiting area for exams is small. There are four single seats available. The chairs were not clean. Food and hair stuck in the creases/folds. Not to my standard or liking. I had to bust out my Clorox wipes and wipe those chairs down before we all sat down. 2. Eye appointments are booked in 20 minute time slots. That isn't sufficient in my opinion. Appointments run into other appointments. Rush. Rush.Rush. 3. Not enough staff to assist with ordering glasses. You get rushed through to wait on someone to assist you with placing an eye glass order. Everyone in my family weara glasses, all three of us. I would be that customer that you are waiting on because all three of us is getting new eye glasses. My complaint is for people like me to avoid others from waiting extended periods of time. Overall, I was satisfied. The staff and optometrist saved this experience from going left. However, I don't believe, I would return. It isn't a hard no, but, I expected more, especially on the second go around. I can give grace - once, but not twice. There's a young lady there who is very rude. I now know that's it's not likely a situation where she's having a bad day but is actually a feature of her personality. I've encountered her on a few occasions and every time she acts like every question is a bother to her. She will practically ignore you until for ever and will answer the phone in the rudest ways. I can give examples but do t have the time. This is both in person and over the phone. She could definitely use some training and or a different non customer facing job. I know that this location knows exactly who I'm talking about so it's not necessary to name names or put anyone's photo up here. It was my first time at lensecrafters after years and years of seeing there commercials. My thing was convenience and they said they would be done in 2 hours which they were. This location got a completely new renovation and it's gorgeous! I should have taken photos to post on here because the old photos up here don't do this new renovation justice. I would have NEVER known LensCrafters used to look like these photos. It was absolutely gorgeous in there. Those who had a bad experience before should give it another try because customer service was ALSO on point. Rosio was a perfect example of customer service. She warmly welcomed us and explained options for my needs. She gave me some time to look around while she kindly helped other guests and she continuously checked in on me every few minutes. When I finally decided on a few options, we sat down at a table as I made my final decision. I really appreciated her helping me make my decision on my frame; she suggested the frame that brought more character out of me and I really loved that! She seamlessly walked me through my EyeMed insurance and my options for lenses. I appreciated her going above and beyond to activate the transitional lenses to let me see what it might look like with my frame. Another thing that I appreciated is that she explained the 30 day guarantee and that if I ever need to make any adjustments, I can come back any time. That made me feel welcome to continuously return and definitely made me want to bring my business here every year for my new glasses and contacts needs. Didn't feel listened to :( I'm 41 and regularly use Lenscrafters or at least I used to. Maybe it's that they don't love Black people here? Or don't love Black women? Either way I hate wasting my time with repeat visits because I'm not being heard. I went in for contact lenses and experienced difficulty with Dr Tari listening to my concerns and walked out with an rx that's meaningless. I used my yearly exam and am not paying extra for anti-Blackness this month so I'll be back and may have to ask the manager for help or start a #BoycottLenscrafters campaign. Will keep you posted! I'm hoping it was wearing too much mascara that day but so wish the doc would have had me wipe or adjust to ensure we got what we needed. I was very happy with my service. I had originally purchased a pair of Oakley eyeglasses with the protection plan. Our new puppy is now tall enough to grab things off the nightstand and knocked them off and trampled on them (she's ok, no cuts or anything) I took them in first thing when they open and explained what happened. They didn't give me any sort of run around and were very courteous and helpful. I had a band new pair in less than an hour and was very happy with the product I received. I came into get my glasses repaired after the right temple fell off after I was in a scooter accident a few weeks ago. Just the temple part. No broken frame or lenses. Manager says they don't fix things like that and tries to sell me into a "new prescription" and says I must get new glasses. Around $600 estimated. I asked him why I would need a new prescription when their own eye doctor said that my prescription has not changed and it wouldn't be necessary to get one again. He said "that's just our policy". So basically I paid extra insurance for nothing. These people are scammers. Just trying to justify you into getting a sale. No wonder this location has so many bad reviews. read more

Came to this location because the website said they had a frame in stock. I was approached after some time and asked about the frame and he cut me off and said they didn't have them. I used to work at a Sunglass Hut so I know about back stock so I asked and he said "everything was out on the floor". I asked about a promotion and he said "We don't have that promotion" so I showed him my phone and he said that it could be honored. It was just a really weird situation with a staff member that obviously had better things to do then help out a customer. The store has a large selection but I did notice that there were a ton of repeats so it just gives the illusion that the selection is larger then it is. Two stars for location. It was really easy to find in the mall and right by an entrance. I'll stick to my normal LensCrafters. read more

This review is in reference to the store not the optometrist. CAUTION: STORE SELLS USED GLASSES! I want to preface this by stating that I do not wear glasses normally but needed a pair as a back up in the event that I had an issue with my contacts. I came in and purchased a pair of glasses with lenses fitted to the nines. When I was selecting a frame I purchased one that was discounted approximately $30 from full retail with a red sticker. I loved the look of the frame and thought they were simply on sale. I pulled the trigger for a total of about $130.00. Well, after receiving them fitted with lenses, the glasses never fit correctly. The arms opened but did so too wide and without a spring. They were extremely difficult to open but if loosened, would collapse. I figured, perhaps this is normal or my head is oddly shaped so I mostly ignored it. After being unable to wear them however, I came back for multiple adjustments at which point one of the techs advised me that the "barrels" were broken. I could not believe it since I rarely if ever wore them. Well, eventually the arm broke off completely and the store told me they couldn't do anything about it as it was a brand they do not sell (mind you I purchased it from them). It was then that I decided to purchase an identical pair online and swap the lenses, when I received them, I realized the new unit had arms that had a full spring hinge, came with a different and authentic case and authentic microfiber cloth. I then went back to the store equipped with both units but the manager was unable to assist. Approximately one year had passed so it is not his fault; however, this review is to let you all know that this store sells used, broken goods to unsuspecting buyers. Had I worn them everyday I would have noticed this a lot sooner but this is poor unethical behavior that is not suited for the corporate world. I could not believe that a company this day and age would pull this kind of unscrupulous behavior. Do your business elsewhere, either LensCrafters or this particular store uses underhanded business practices that hurt the end user. Buyer beware. You've been warned. read more

I took my son for his first contact eye exam . Dr. Kato was able to accommodate us at the end of the day. He was patient and helpful. Since this was the first time my son tried on contacts he needed that extra bit of time, and he gave him that . My son felt confortable and at ease . Dr. Kato made sure the fit was right, and that my son was going to be able to put the contacts on and off on his own . He also gave him follow up instructions, some contacts and solution to take home and try before marking a final determination on the lenses . In LA for a few days and took out my prescription RayBans for the first time in a month and they're BROKEN. Frame is loose and a lens has fallen out. My thought is I may have to buy a new frame if they still make the style. So I stopped in the nearest LensCrafters since I know they sell RayBans. Had to wait a few minutes because its around 7pm and they there are two opticians busy with another person waiting but at least they acknowledge we are there and they'll be with us as soon as they can. After about 15 minutes PK comes over and looks at my glasses and gives me the diagnosis. NOT BROKEN. It was just the screw that fell out. (I guess that's why I need glasses.) She takes a few minutes to replace the screw and polish up the lenses. Great service, fast and honest. Thank you again! read more

My dogs broke my glasses and I was happy lens crafters were able to get me in the same day! I needed to come in ASAP and also needed to update my prescription. They were able to do everything in an hour! They even had my glasses ready for me to go in just an hour I was so thankful. Being blind is just a pain lol. The only thing that bugged me would be the sales person I had. She was very friendly but she added on many things to try to get her commission without letting me know. She was trying to have me pay $500. I was so surprised and asked her to break it down for me and she added on many things that I wasn't even acknowledged about. I know bs when I see it and I caught on. She then lowered the price to $140! Lol see what some sales people do to customers without them knowing?! The doctors are all great. As far as the customer service staff it's hit or Miss and lately more miss. Appointments can be made online. However , be prepared to wait 20-40 minutes to actually be seen. Glasses were supposed to be ready in 4-5 days, and we asked them to call our cell # because we have a landline but don't really use it. We called 5 days later and they said they would call us back in 15 minutes. NEVER called us back. 2 weeks later we called again because I had a follow up appt for contacts. They said they left us a message on the day we called. Nothing on the machine 2:40 appt and still waiting at 3:10 Thought it would be more convenient to get glasses here since our exam was here. BUT a you need to BRING a your prescription with you. The Lens Ordered contacts to be delivered to my home. I was told 3 bus days. It's been 8 days and still no contacts. They don't give you a tracking # unless you ask for it. It is not even on the receipt. They don't answer the phone quickly mr most of the retail staff is not overly courteous or helpful. While office staff is super friendly and kind to children, our needs buying a working pair of glasses were not met. The "kids" glasses are not appropriate for my son. They have been re-adjusted twice in the past 5 months. During the exam I felt uncomfortable. The office was not set up to cater to exam a young person. I got a second opinion at Kaiser and was much happier with the experience and the systems they had in place (animals on the wall, kids video, and communication that was age appropriate). This is my go to place for eye care. I've been coming for over 10 years for eye exams, contacts and glasses. This year, Dr. Kim took good care of my eyes with a thorough exam and fitting. My "contact check" a week later resulted in an adjustment that allowed me to see thru my bifocal contacts better. I've been getting eye exams and wearing contacts for over 30 years and I must say, I felt very comfortable with Dr Kim. She was very thorough and caring. I'm sure I got more time with her than I should have because she looked very closely at my eyes, dilated and then took pictures. I appreciate the level of care I get here so I am patient when others need that attention. I don't always buy my lenses here because I can often get them online for cheaper. But I'll always come here for exams and eyeglasses. read more

I've been a LensCrafters Santa Monica patient for the past five years, so this was my first time at this location. Rocio was at the front desk when I walked in. She was super friendly, professional, and attentive. She made it a point to get me prepped for the doctor in a timely manner. The eye doc was also kind, quick, and professional. He didn't try to oversell me anything crazy. Arsenio took photos of my eyes and was sooo nice. We had a good convo because he also joined this location from the Santa Monica LensCrafters. My appointment was at 5:40pm. I arrived at 5:45pm and was out the door by 6:55pm. So not bad at all. I'd recommend this place. read more

Four stars for eye exam, 2 stars for all the services surrounding (pricing dishonest but people appear to genuinely want to help). My best advice is go in only for a glasses eye exam if you have insurance and say no to any extra "tests". Get out of there with your prescription. Everything else will cost you. They have a storefront in the mall they have to pay for, correction, you will pay for. Contacts fitting with your eye exam? $40 extra but you have to come back a week later for the doctor to double-check that they fit. They said that it's included. What they meant to say is "We will not give you your prescription you just paid an extra $40 for and when you return still bill your insurance which will take away your contacts benefit". Yup, that took my $96 contact credit away. Oh and guess what price they quoted me for contact prices? Twice the rate than many online vendors. read more

I was told that my old frames could not be reused and then paid for a new frame. Two weeks later although I had asked them to correct my cell number in their system, I was notified at a wrong number that they could not get the new frames that they made me pay for. Miraculously, they suddenly were able to use the old frames when they could not get the new frames. However, I was charged twice for the lenses, that I had previously paid for, and was not refunded for the previously paid frames or lenses. THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU AVOID LENSCRAFTERS. Beware. Getting glasses should not be so hard. Now, with excellent vision insurance, I have paid a total of almost $500 out of pocket for two pairs of LENSES ONLY. read more
