I would give this place ZERO stars if i could, and would advise against going to this doctors office for contact lenses.
The doctors office secretary/billing person doesn't understand basic medical terminology and is extremely arrogant. He claimed that my 2 week daily wear lenses were "extended wear" and therefor a premium lens fitting which is not covered by my insurance. For reference, I take these lenses out every night and dispose them every 2 weeks, which is what the doctor confirmed with me during my appointment and that is what he wrote on my prescription. He did not tell me to wear them continuously 24/7, which is what "extended wear" means (basic medical terminology that the secretary just did not understand).
There was zero discussion of extended wear during my appointment. Any trained eye doctor would know NEVER to prescribe lenses for extended wear without proper patient education on how to use them safely and a discussion of all the added risks of wearing a contact lens 24/7.
The secretary very rudely argued with both me and the insurance rep that these were "extended wear" because they are disposed after 2 weeks instead of every day. He then refused to consult the doctor when I told him his definition of "extended wear" was medically inaccurate, and he claimed that he himself was an expert in this field. One of the most arrogant and unprofessional people i have ever spoken with.
Maybe the doctors here should properly educate their secretaries on basic medical terminology and explain to them that lenses that are removed every night are NOT extended wear lenses. You really shouldn't put people who can't comprehend basic medical terminology in charge of patient billing and claims.
I have been getting these EXACT same lenses my whole life, by multiple different doctors offices (including the other lenscrafters location in East Brunswick) , and everyone else has always considered them daily wear lenses (standard fit, not premium, and covered by eyemed insurance).
For reference, my husband is a physician and I will be completing medical school in a few months, so we understand how important staff education, patient education, customer service and honest billing is. This is NOT the way to run a medical practice, and this type of poor customer service should not be tolerated by the owner because it reflects poorly on the entire practice and store.
Me and my family will absolutely never be returning to this location again, and i would absolutely not recommend this location to anyone. read more
