My 94 year old mom fell and broke her glasses so she stopped wearing them when I realized she wasn't watching tv or reading the paper so I took her to LensCrafters in Tustin today. Happy to see a sign on the door saying the store was at capacity to be safe and please wait outside! It was great, waited just a couple minutes and they opened the door they fixed moms glasses and even repaired where tge lens had chipped during her fall! We couldn't believe it when she came back and said No Charge! This is how neighbors used to help neighbors! So wonderful to see LensCrafters takes care of their customers-even after you buy your glasses! Thank you soo much! read more

3.5 I was skeptical coming to Lenscrafters after reading the bad reviews and some of them do have merit to them, I had 0 expectations of customer service or even doing business with them and I am satisfied except for a few issues when you first come into the store. I started my order with Lenscrafters at the beginning of the month by just walking into the store and browsing, I noticed when we first walked in, NO ONE greeted us and we were left on our own and was never approached until I walked up to the checkout counter with a few pairs of glasses in my hands. Everyone who was on the floor or behind the counter was so consumed with whatever they were doing that they never bothered to look up and see people come into the store or if they needed help. I was able to flag someone down she was the nicest out of the other staff I encountered during my whole experience, Xiabelle walked me through the process and was familiar with someone having a heavier RX than most, I haven't gotten new glasses in 5 years and my eyes have really declined because of my health so a new RX was definitely in order! She let me put frames on hold while I went to other optical places but I did end up purchasing with Lenscrafters. I came back a few days later to finish the purchase and I saw a pair of glasses at the last second that were screaming my name so I went with those and technology is awesome that I didn't have to wait 2 weeks for my glasses they were ready the very same day! The onsite lab had my lenses on site and didn't need to be ordered which was great! I came back the next day to pick them up and they were super loose after 2 adjustments I thought I was okay but realized once I got home and started moving around that they were still too loose, I waited a few days to come back in and a very nice male employee tightened them, they still aren't super tight to what I would like but they are much better than when I first walked out of the store. He also exchanged my eye cleaning wipe that originally came with my glasses, it had a film on it that made my glasses so dirty and even after washing it I still couldn't get it out so he gave me 2 wipes! Overall, I'm extremely happy with my glasses, I do wish they would work on the customer service aspect when you first walk in, I think it would set a better tone especially if you are a new customer and need help. read more

The only benefit of LensCrafters is that they are fast, quick. They have plenty of lenses in stock, and they always have some sort of offer for you. But they put forth the effort into making the buying process as difficult for the consumer as possible. Not only do they not openly discuss rates, options and value packages for the consumer, but they make you feel as though you are a burden if you wish to discuss such options. This particular store does not have a lot of good lens selections, and the customer service staff seems very incompetent. read more

Other than the long wait for service when I first walked in, this place has the best service and work quality. I have the worse eyesight ever, literally coke bottle glasses...maybe thicker than coke bottle at -8.75. sigh. It's really really hard to find glasses that don't give me headaches, tension, or fit well for long study sessions through the night. The service for helping me find frames was great. The girl asked for my preference and what my eyesight is, so that she can accommodate to the lens. She led me to the counter with plastic frames. I had chosen 10 by the time she started to help me, but I wasn't happy with them. She picked out 3 and i loved 2. My frames fit perfectly and didn't look half bad. The lens are a different story. I require the craziness lens ever. Superview Plastic, SIngle Vision with Invisibles, Polycarbonate Hi-Index blah blah blah blah. No matter how cute a frame, the lens kill it. These lens are thick yes, but no headaches, no tension, and big enough so I can wear them at all times if i wanted to. Overall, great store to get glasses, but the prices are steep. Thank god for the half off lens sale if you buy frames. read more

Recently visited when needed a new set of goggles and was pretty pleased overall with the process. Everyone is pretty nice and they seem to genuinely care about you getting a right fit. When it came to choosing glasses that was the point of contention as I couldn't decide between two pairs. I ended up buying the 2nd pair after I was told they have a 30 day guarantee. After 2 weeks I decided the 2nd pair didn't work for me, just uncomfortable overall. I came in to return the second pair and while I was told it was complicated they wouldn't have an issue helping me out. After a few days of no update I called and spoke to the GM who was very accommodating and considerate in explaining all the laborious details in layman terms. She did a great job of going through it all and making me feel confident in the choices I had made. While the return part wasn't without a small bump the overall effort and customer service was grade A by everyone I've spoke to at this specific location. When it's time for another pair of glasses for me, or anyone else I'll come here. The one and only caveat would be if they follow through with the plan to no longer offer same day glasses so corporate, keep that going ;) read more

So I made an appointment for my yearly eye exam at this location. I arrived 10 minutes early just in case i needed to fill out paper work and all that jazz. The gentleman that was helping me was only on his second day at the job, so he wasn't sure what to do, but was still very friendly and as helpful as he could be. So I'm checking out the frames waiting for my name to be called. After walking around the store a good while I was hoping my name would be called soon. I look at my phone and it was already 3:40 which was 20 minutes past my appointment time. So i look around some more and read a magazine then its 3:55, at this point i was like ok whats the deal here? i didn't even do any of those pretest yet. Finally at about 4 they have me do my pretests test with a really nice girl named Kim. She was very polite and helpful. After my pretest I had to wait about another 10 minutes for the Doc. Once she comes out she is also very kind and welcoming. Overall my exam went well i needed to order contacts but i also was still considering new frames. After My hour of walking around the store those Chanel's kept talking to me!! Anyway after looking at the price of the frames i was shocked but not too much I already have Chanel frames from a few years back, i guess i don't remember them being that expensive. The damage with my prescription included would have been enough to go into cardiac arrest. In the end I decided not to do it. I think I'm going to try and get some frames elsewhere. Overall this place isn't bad, they seem very unorganized and need to find away not to have such a long wait when you have an appointment. The nice staff makes up for that, but the prices are still too steep. FYI: you get 30% of your total if you get eyeglasses with a prescription so that may help a little :/ read more

I had not had a chance to do a review since going to this location in August. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service. I have a place I normally used to go to but decided to try Lens Crafters for a change since it's closer to my new home. My experience felt very in and out. I didn't feel like the optometrist nor the staff took the time to answer my questions or help me out for the exception of a young lady that greeted me when coming in and checked me in for my appointment. I was hoping she would help me when I was done with my appointment but she seemed to have left for the day. The guy who helped me out seemed to be annoyed to be there. It almost felt like it was a drag for him to look into prices for lens or what my insurance would cover. Needless to say I won't be back to this location nor a Lens Crafters for that matter. I will continue to go to my old optometrist even if it's further away from home. read more

So I failed the DMV Vision/Eye test portion. I was given a notice to see an OD before they can renew my license. What a buzz kill after that long DMV line. Made an appt with LC for next day and they let me know that they can help me fill out my DMV papers and it'll be 65 dollars for the exam. I definitely came on a busy day but I was taken in before my appointment, sales rep (AJ) was more than helpful and not pushy. I don't have vision insurance but he ran all the discounts that I can use and that was very informative. I'm also in sales and he was not pushy or tried to up-sell at all. Since I was a newbie... I had no idea what I was looking for or what style looks good or if I should drop a grip load of money for brand name frames. He just simply suggested to try out any glasses, purchase them and I can come back later to upgrade or find something that suits me. My concern was to see better without the eye strain and headaches. Your vision is very important and I paid that 79.99 for the full eye health diagnose. It's 65 for eye exam with no insurance. The Ophthalmologist was so patient, professional and not in a rush like most doctors who wants to just get to the next patient. She was very personable and is concerned for your eye health. I really have no other experiences with vision centers to compare to because this is my first experience having to correct my vision (thank you DMV for having me wait an hr in the hot sun to tell me I am slightly blind) Compared to my co-workers... I saved about $200-$300 more than their glasses purchased at WalMart, independent vision centers and even Sam's/ Costco... all done in an hour (if in stock). read more

This place is average at best. Went with my mom and nephew to get him new glasses and got there at 11:45 (appointment at noon). We left at 1:50. That seems a bit excessive for simply getting new glasses with an already existing prescription. The doctor and technicians were good, it was when we got to the purchasing part of the appointment that it went downhill. They simply didn't have enough staff. The employee helping us was nice, but she also helped 5-6 other people while helping us. There is no rhyme or reason to this store. We would be talking about specifics for his glasses (because they of course always try to upsell you) when she would just say, "oh, let me check on that pricing" and go help another customer... right in front of us... Needless to say, the experience here was less than satisfactory. Not to mention they claim all these awesome deals to get you in and then hit you with hidden charges and fees. No bueno. Go to Costco Optical next time. Save your time, money and sanity. read more

For those looking for weekend appointments, this place had several available at the last minute. I have purchased four pairs of glasses from this store, and the this latest pair have transitions lenses and an AR coating. Something inside the lense is bubbling off at the edges after just 14 months. There is not a scratch on the lenses. It is an obvious manufacturing defect, but they will not stand by their product at all. Tough luck is what they told me. Two months sooner and the replacements would have been 50%. So their position is I need to replace my glasses every year, because this bubbling is expected? The above was my first post, but I wrote a complaint letter to the manager and that was forwarded to someone up the corporate ladder. So the corporation not only decided to replace the lenses, but also gave me another set of frames and lenses at no cost. So, they did stand by their product. As a matter of fact they now seem to be getting more similar complaints, because the floor general of the store was explaining to the sales person how to capture all of the needed information from other customers. So the story will end well, but I have to say they have a lot of nasty natured people in the store. They act like I am taking THEIR money, instead of sharing the feelings of the corporate bigger wig that feels they have wasted my time by selling me a defective set of glasses. --------- 2011 Update: I still get my glasses here and have not had any further problems. The optometrist who work there are pretty good but the overall service is pretty bad (hence the 2 rating). They screwed up my order and even worse my insurance (they couldn't find my name so they put me under my company's general coverage instead of the premium that I'm actually covered/paying for). I'll admit that I should of caught the insurance error but the excuse that they couldn't find my name is BS/laziness. Before Lenscrafters I used to actually go to an local Optometrist and that's where I'm headed next time. I thought it would be cheaper/more convenient to go to a Lenscrafters but I don't think its really worth it (or now days I don't think they are any actually cheaper/more convenient) read more

How much did I pay to get a bad and incredibly awkward service ? $500! I went in for my annual check up at Lenscrafters today. Set an appointment for 4 pm, after filling in my paperwork went through the routine tests. I was then greeted and taken in by the doctor who went through my results and gave me my prescription. She was very personable, informative and thorough. I'd definitely go back for my eye exam! She then passed on my prescription to a guy on the floor. BOBBY. He handed me a tray and asked me to choose my glasses. Husband and I took some time to browse and picked a few liked. Then the nightmare began. BOBBY. He sat down and fitted my frames in a very business like manner. Curt. To the point. Any questions that my husband or I asked were answered promptly and very very sharply but more importantly always ended with "so how would you like to pay?" 1. We weren't asked what lenses we'd like to use for my eye glasses ...no sir! He picked one out himself for us...saving us the trouble I guess. (He didnt choose the most expensive option...good for me, but is that what they want in a salesperson??) 2. I was prescribed a new type of lenses for my astigmatism and I wanted to have some information about them. But NO! hes off for 15 mins...comes back with the total and asks ...yeah, you guessed it " how would u like to pay" After trying very unsuccessfully to coax info out of this guy. .my husband gives him the credit card to process and asked to speak to the manager. Then ALEX comes over and we explain what was happening - he calls BOBBY over to hear his side of the story (please have the conversation with ur employees in private)and BOBBY offered a few insincere apologies! After this, Alex sits down to answer our questions... went a lil overboard with the medical jargon, threw in an upgrade on my glasses...he was very awkward through all this and we honestly couldn't wait to get out. Needless to say, we won't be returning for their service. Get ur prescription and get ur frames and glasses elsewhere! 2 hours of little and very poor service, do urself a favor and but them online. The 2 stars are for the doctor. Period. Do not invest your time and money here....they obviously do not value your patronage! Oh, the frames are wayy over priced. read more

I knew going in on a Saturday afternoon would not be a good idea, but it was the only day I could go in, and Hey, with an appointment, it should be ok.....oh heck no! After entering the esblashmemt, I was told to sit and not look at the eyeware available... I was taken in for the initial exam within 10 minutes, but sat outside in the lobby for over on hour to see the 'Dr". Upon complaining about this....I was told, sorry, the previous patient had an emergency. I was also told that an eye exam should take over an hour and I shoulg not leave...I was alreadhy there 1.5 hours. I've had eye exams at target, Costco or Walmart faster then this. The real problem with this LensCrafters location is the misinformation given by the floor associates of what the on-site lab is capable of. I wanted to replace the lenses in a pair of RayBans sunglasses and asked that the prescription lenses have a matching tint color (brownish gray) plus I asked for it to be darker. The sales person was very confident that it could be done and in fact, was boasting at how routine this was. The sales person said it would take 1-2 hours to complete the lenses. I waited around in the Tustin Marketplace and right at the 2nd hour got a call that lenses aren't ready. Then two hours after that, they can't get the darkness right. Well, 2-days and 4 attempts later, I got my lenses. They were finally the correct tint, however they're actually lighter so that kind of bums me out. I was really hoping getting an eye exam and new lenses was going to be painless, but it didn't turn out that way with Lens Crafters. read more

Manager did not great nor did any other sales members, the guy doing the exam was so negative and unpleasant. I got my prescription and ran. I will never go back her even though it is across from my apt. I rather take my business to Costco or another Lens Crafters. The actual doctor that I saw was great!!! Its my second time going to this lenscrafter located in the marketplace (didnt write a review then) and both times I had issues..1st issue was few years back, they put some else's prescription on my eye glasses. And I have to wait 2 hours for them to fix it....2nd issue, yesterday, i needed new prescription lens put in on my glass..while the sale person adjusting my frame to fit my face...he crack it..now I have to wait a whole day...i called this morning (spoke with Luna) and it's not ready..i was given an excuse that the technician is backed up..i explained the issue and that mine should be a priority. Luna gave me attitude and said should be ready in 1 1/2 hours and no other resolution...poor customer service and a no care attitude. Avoid this location. read more

Great job LensCrafters. Your service was above average, consistently attentive, kind and fast. The whole experience was good. The selection could be a bit more, but otherwise was solid. From appointment scheduling to new glasses was under four hours. I even decided to return my glasses a week later to change frames. They were so cool and considerate. I did t feel at all stupid for being " that girl." They were just as polite as the first day. And my glasses were back within about an hour. read more

My husband needed new glasses and his insurance is contracted with LensCrafters. We were skeptical but walked in without an appointment. We were greeted immediately and politely. After we chose a frame, Phi Nguyen helped measure and quote the glasses. He was excellent; ask professional questions, made sure the frames fit my husbands face and recommended lenses that would be best. It was an extremely pleasant conversation and never left rushed although there were lots of customers in the store. It was a wonderful experience and we were very pleasantly surprised. read more

I've been to Lenscrafters in general many times. Over the years, I've consistently found everything about this chain to be going downhill (except the prices, which have been rising). However, it is with the visit today that I believe I've finally come to the end of my rope, and it has been with this store after patronizing it for two years. My primary reason for coming here two years ago was to get an eye exam. Lenscrafters was one place that actually did take my insurance, so literally a month after a cross country move and less than a month to use the insurance before the end of the year, I went here. The appointment was set and I showed up on time. There were a number of people ahead of me, but I quickly found out that this particular lenscrafters uses a station like approach in the eye exams. One person does the prelim tests such as the air puff and peripheral vision. Another person tries to upsell you on a digital photograph of your eye (which is never covered by insurance). Finally, the doctor will come out and take you in for an exam, most of which is her clicking and typing away on a computer. All in all, my first exam took about one hour, from walk in to walk out. There still was a lot of waiting. I also got fitted for contacts, which cost an extra $40. Last year, the total experience took about an hour and a half. This year, after being lazy, I decided to go to the same place. I remembered my experience from last year, but rationalized it to mark it up to a bad day or something. However, the appointment yesterday was 'more' of everything. The appointment was set and I got in the store and waited. And I waited and waited. I waited some more. There were three people ahead of me; a hour into my wait, two people ahead of me still were waiting with me. I went ahead and did my station visits like last year and waited some more. The person I checked in with said the contact fitting would be an extra $40; I was okay with this. Finally, I went in for the exam part and we got halfway through the exam. It was here the the doctor decided I needed an eye dilation to check my eyes. I could have done the fancy eye picture, but for me, dilation is covered under the insurance and the eye picture is not. Not being an eye doctor (and actually never having done the dilation or eye picture since moving here) I said fine. Honestly, I have no problem with that. I got the drops in my eyes and was sent out to the entryway to wait again, while someone else went in for his appointment. Again, I have no problem with staggering patients; it's usually a good time management practice. I got back in and finished the appointment. Since I had my eyes dilated, I got these cool wraparound plastic sunglasses film for free. After all this, I went to check out. The contact lens fitting had magically jumped from $40 to $75 in the time I'd been there and although I tried to asertain why with the (yet different) cashier, he just kept telling me that was the price. I finally just gave up, paid and left. The total time I was there was about 2.5 hours-- for 20 or 25 minute eye exam. read more

I would like to start by saying that my overall experience was pleasant. Anyone reading this review please take into consideration that I was there on a Saturday. With this being my experience I would never recommend going in to LensCrafters on a weekend without an appointment it does not seem like a time that would be wise to take on a walk in. This was my first visit to LensCrafters for myself. I was in need of new frames and LensCrafters has a very good selection. Ultimately that was the biggest factor for me as I've had trouble in the past finding frames that I thought looked good with my face I was disappointed to see that LensCrafters does not accept VSP insurance but they will accept it as an out of network. My eye exam went very well. The doctor was very kind and thorough. She gave me a lot of information and discuss with me different ways to keep my eyes healthy. The thing that makes this visit a three was the lens and the frame selection process. My mom and I must have been asked by every associate in the store if we needed help. my mom n I musta been asked by every associate in the store if we needed help. Well this is normally a good thing, I, I would've preferred some more space to lower the shop on our own. then once we finally picked out frames we had to wait a while in this tiny claustrophobic state for somebody to be ready to actually sell us the glasses we had picked out. Well I am happy with my frames and the overall experience was good there were definitely a couple things that could have made it a lot more pleasant. As soon as I walked in the door, an associate who was actually helping a customer, greeted me and notified me that they were all busy at the moment. Dan and a few others helped me tremendously by getting a pair of glasses done in less than an hour (actually it was significantly less.) This place is a life saver because my 6 year old son is constantly losing or breaking his glasses! I have come here for glasses repair 3 times and each time they repaired our glasses (mine, hubby and son) for free and they adjust glasses too. Prices are great compared to optometrist's office and they always have some kind of special for half off lenses or half off frames. I scored when I purchased a pair for my son last weekend because they had half off lens AND frame! Super quick service and glasses ready in an hour or less. There is a Barnes and Noble and Corner Bakery walkable so that you can have a snack or browse some magazines while you wait :) read more
