chopped chicken salad $20 (lettuce was soggy & soaked in a ton of water)
    Meg E.

I'll start by saying this restaurant has the potential to be fantastic. It's nice inside, on the fancier side, with an affordable menu. It's not in the most convenient area of town but worth the drive when the food is on point. There's a great amount of options, including bison, which is rare to see. My favorite item here is the chopped salad, but it's a way better deal to get just the side salad for $11. The entree portion is the same size salad but you'll be charged an extra $9 for one chicken breast. Other things are oddly priced, like $10 for a kids meal which is, for example, a burger (their burgers are usually pretty good), full size side, and a drink for $10, yet a side by itself (such as 4 onion rings) is $8. I've had the chopped salad several times since my first visit here last summer. It's usually good in person but getting this to-go is typically not a great experience, which is why I don't plan to return. The last few times I've had the salad, several ingredients were missing, along with other items missing. It's clear that there is no care or quality check on to go orders. There's a long wait to remake the food so I usually just take a partial refund. If you call and are told 30 minutes, it's usually ready within 10 minutes, so food is cold at pickup. If you are told 10 minutes, you might wait close to an hour because no one remembers to put your order in. It's wild. Yesterday, the to-go order was awful. My chopped salad arrived soaked in water. EIGHT viva paper towels later (yes, the brand matters because this brand absorbs a LOT), my salad was still soaked. It wasn't dressing because the liquid was clear and dressing was on the side. My friend's Caesar salad was also soaked, the lettuce was black and green, and her croutons were like soggy sponges. I called, asked for the manager, and after a 15 minute wait, he said I could pick up a gift card. Even a partial refund for food that had to go in the trash was an option. With rising food costs and thousands of restaurants to choose from in town, this place cannot maintain steady business with such lack of care. Until they hold themselves to consistent standards for dine in AND carry out, save your time and money, go anywhere else so that you can have a quality, edible meal.

5 out of 5 stars due to our amazing waiter, Lance. He greeted us with a smile and good conversation. Great knowledge of the menu and specials. He was attentive and never let any of our beverages hit empty. We will be back solely because of his extraordinary service. We had the bison meatloaf with mashed potatoes and carrots, a Kale salad with salmon and the daily special of an open face steak sandwich with Gruyère cheese. Ted's provides free pickles at your table (you'll immediately want another serving). Drinks....they have them all. Draft beers, a variety of wines, unique cocktails, vanilla and cherry coke, kiddie cocktails....the list goes on. Hungry and want to try something new...make sure to check out Ted's soon.

Came in for a date night on a Friday and it was just blaise. Pros -Server was extremely friendly - Food was ready and delivered in a timely manner - Restaurantcwas very clean Cons - Flavor was blah, meat didnt have a lot of flavor, and the pickles didn't have much flavor either - Burger was supposed to be medium, but was rare, MAYBE medium rare at best. Overall, an okay experience but won't be rushing back. There are other great spots in the area worth checking out.

I want to start by saying that my service here has always been amazing. My boyfriend introduced me to this spot and we first tried their burgers. The bison burger to be exact. This restaurant is 2 hours from us so when we are close by we stop in and order. We ordered the bison brisket and bison short rib. Both were not as expected. The brisket tasted more like pot roast, tasty just not what I think of when I think of a brisket. The short rib meal was good as well but the portion of short rib for what is priced Is what was disappointing. I was given 3 small short ribs. Amazing flavor just not what I expected I will definitely be back and stick to the burgers because they never let me down. Amazing service and clean establishment.

Bunless Canyon Creek bison burger with Parmesan Roasted Broccoli

We went at an odd time so the restaurant was empty! Made for a nice quiet experience. Had the canyon creek bison burger which was very tasty! I wasn't sure about the raspberry jam but it had a lot of flavor which was great on my burger. The broccoli wasn't steamed enough for me but some people like it crunchier. Not a lot of seasoning so it was kind of bland, but that's broccoli. My friends got a side chopped salad, kids burger, and knife and fork chili cheese burger. Overall everything was great! Next time I'm in the area I'll be back. Nice that they offer 50/50 onion rings and fries for those who can't decide! One person got this and there were 3 nice sized onion rings plus fries.

Cedar Plank Salmon with Parmesan Roasted Broccoli Parmesan and Buttered Carrots
    Diana L.

I ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon and a dirty martini. The food was delicious and my drink was just right! The service was great. My server, Marieta was so nice and the GM Zane (sorry if I mispelled your name) was very welcoming! I will definitely be coming back to visit when I am in town! The restaurant was very clean, calm and just an overall nice place to enjoy my lunch. Thank you, Ted's Indianapolis Staff!

Great for our group of 24. We had 2 tables and a great time. Our servers, Tez and Scott, were wonderful and very accommodating. We had a holiday gift exchange. The food was delicious as always. The bison chili was a big hit! There was meat in every bite.

And only a half block walk from the Omni Hotel we were staying in! Food (5/5): Well, this place would not have lasted since 1902 if the food wasn't delicious. And it did not disappoint. We have been eating so much lately that we ordered an appetizer and main and the kitchen split everything in half. Bread: Delicious fresh made rolls of onion and pumpernickel. The best thing was the cheese lavosh crackers, which were hiding in the bottom - we almost missed them! They said they purchase the lavosh, then put garlic butter and cheese on them and bake them. Just wonderful! Shrimp cocktail - Of course we had to try this! The large shrimps were hiding under a mound of freshly grated horseradish and tomato paste to make a spicy, eye watering cocktail sauce. Iconic indeed! The main came with "bean soup" which sounded not great, but it was surprisingly good. It had chunks of ham and carrots and tasted more like split pea soup. The main also came with a side - we opted for the loaded baked potato and it was perfectly cooked. Nothing like a great baked potato with sour cream, cheese, and bacon! Filet mignon - We got the 8oz (medium rare) and the kitchen split it in half for us. I also got it Oscar Style, which included lump crab, asparagus, and béarnaise sauce (lovely butter sauce!) Service (5/5): David was an amazing server. Tux laden and professional to the core. The other servers did not let an empty plate sit on the table for more than a few seconds after we finished. I wish that every server was as kind and professional as David. Ambiance (5/5): 1920's crooners singing filled the dark wood intimate spaces. It's a classic steakhouse!

The main floor dining like a lunch vibe, but it turned out to be a cozy choice. For appetizers, we started with the cornbread after our focaccia was unfortunately not the best. Seemed to be over-proofed. The cornbread was absolutely phenomenal and a must-have! A special shoutout to our waitress, Arya, who noticed our disappointment with the focaccia and generously brought us the cornbread on the house. That kind of service is truly memorable! I also had the beets and peaches salad, which was refreshing but a tad overdressed. Still, I couldn't resist finishing the entire dish. For my main course, I ordered the lasagna, and I can confidently say it was one of the best I've ever had. It wasn't overloaded with cheese and instead complemented by mushrooms and pesto, and surprisingly light on the stomach. My husband chose the filet and rated it an 8/10, saying he thoroughly enjoyed it. We were so full by the end that we skipped dessert. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful, and the staff was incredibly attentive throughout our meal. The only downside was the atmosphere; coming from Chicago, we expected a more bustling vibe on a Thursday night. It seems Indianapolis is a bit quieter during the week. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience, and hats off to Arya for her exceptional service!

The restaurant features an extensive drink menu that will suite anyone's pallet. We chose to start with the bread service which was killer especially the honey butter. All of the apps look d amazing but went for the dry rub duck wings with home made ranch. My only critic was I wish there were more than 3. Finished off with the shrimp and grits. Although, I wasn't in New Orleans the spiciness took me back there. The wait staff was great. Even though we were late for the reservation we were seated promptly and had multiple people taking care of us. Spoke & Steele is a must if you are staying in the hotel but also if you want a cool vibe for drinks and great food I would stop by and take a look.

There's brunch... and then there's Spoke & Steele brunch!!!…read moreFrom the moment you walk in, the vibe is giving cozy, elevated, and just the right amount of "I deserve to be here." The seating? Intimate. The lighting? Soft. The whole space feels like a quiet luxury moment tucked right into the city. Now let's talk about what REALLY matters, the food. The shrimp & grits??? Listen... this wasn't just a dish, this was an EXPERIENCE. The grits were creamy, smooth, and perfectly rich, but that sauce layered on top?? Whew. Flavor on flavor on flavor. You've got that deep, savory, slightly smoky profile with juicy shrimp, sausage, and those pickled onions cutting through everything with the perfect tang. Every bite felt intentional. Like somebody knew what they were doing in that kitchen. And can we talk about how beautiful it was plated?? Because yes, I absolutely appreciated the aesthetics before I even picked up my fork. Paired it with a simple coffee moment, sitting by the window, and honestly... it felt like a reset. Not rushed, not loud, just good food, good atmosphere, and a chance to actually enjoy it. If you're looking for a brunch spot that feels a little more elevated, a little more intentional, and delivers on both flavor and experience. This is it. 10/10. I'll absolutely be back!!!
