Had a long layover in NYC and a friend took me here for lunch. Place was very busy so you know it was going to be good. We ordered pizza and it was pretty good. Wish it was a little bit more crispy but it was very tasty.

Regular Pizza Slice And Sicilian Pizza Slice
    Ryan F.

Had a quick lunch at Leone's Pizzeria on Sunday afternoon. Pretty average pizza, but if you stick with the Sicilian Pizza Slice you will enjoy yourself. Quality: Leone's Pizzeria is perfectly fine when you are craving a slice of pizza, but is not worth going out of your way. I much preferred their Sicilian Pizza Slice, which was able to maintain crispiness around the edges to the regular slice. The Regular Pizza Slice seemed too thick, leaving it a bit undercooked and soggy throughout. Not my favorite sauce, it was right down the middle. Could have benefited from some sweetness or some spiciness. Skip the Garlic Knots, they also have a sogginess issue, but also just are not very flavorful. Probably should be served with some kind of sauce. Quantity: Standard sizes for the slices, the regular slice was a bit thicker than expected. Value: $2.75 for a Regular Pizza Slice. $3.00 for a Sicilian Pizza Slice. $1.75 for Garlic Knots. Ambiance: Leone's Pizzeria is located in the Glendale area of Queens. The pizzeria is quite large, and hard to miss. Outside they have a shared patio with the deli next door. It has a few tables and chairs, which lets some guests enjoy their slices pipping hot. They usually have some tables inside as well, but because of COVID they were all stacked along the wall. The space is instead just a large open waiting area. On opposite sides of the restaurant televisions were showing NFL football and Christmas music played in the background. Crowd: On a surprisingly warm Sunday afternoon, several people were enjoying slices on their outdoor patio. Service: The guys working behind the counter were fast and friendly. Parking: Small shared parking lot with neighboring deli.

I finally tried Nick's Pizza for the first time and I must say that I am hooked. The restaurant was…read morepacked when we arrived on a Friday night, but thankfully did not have to wait as we didn't need a booth. We ordered a large pie with pepperoni and a calzone with sausage. Both items came out together like we asked and was far too much food for two. My first bite of the pizza was hot, crunchy, and delicious. I love fresh oven pizzas with a crispy bottom crust. The chefs did an amazing job cooking it just right. I also loved the fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. It really elevated the pizza to another level. The crust was great all around with a slight oven char. Lastly the calzone took me by surprise as it had no sauce and was filled with ricotta cheese as opposed to mozzarella. It came with a small cup of hot marinara sauce for dipping/pouring. It was definitely an interesting calzone but don't think it was worth the price. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and Nick's and would highly recommend it. I do wish the pricing was a bit more fair when it came to full vs half pie toppings as well as the calzone.

My friend has a newborn and we were trying to find restaurants in the area that would be stroller-friendly (which actually isn't an easy task, to my surprise) and finally landed on Nick's because we had gone there together when it reopened. And it always seems very family and kid-friendly. We definitely went to the right place. I'm not a parent and I've never pushed a stroller without some bumps here and there, and I was so worried about helping get the stroller through the 2 doors. One of his staff saw us from the inside and immediately came out to help as soon as we reached for the door. Nick's paternal instincts definitely came into full effect because he looked out for us and wanted to give us the best seats so that we can have the stroller beside us. The pizza is excellent and I absolutely would come here over again and again, but the warm service from Nick himself and his staff is what truly makes this place so special in the community for so long. I didn't get a chance to come here during those formative years before the fire but when the restaurant finally reopened last year, it was incredibly sad to hear Nick explain how the fire and rebuilding devastated him and the business for over 2 years.

I felt slightly intimidated from the look of the place on the outside because it would seem like a middle class to upper class Restaurant but inside, it does look very nice but the setting is very much casual for its basically an upscale Pizzeria. However I didn't have pizza in mind, I went for something bigger and that would be the Chicken Parmigiana along with Root Beer which tallied up to $32 so not too bad. I contemplated about getting Dessert but I ultimately forgone it, which was a good decision in the long run because the chicken parm order was surprisingly hefty. I've gotten used to smaller portions being served in restaurants nowadays and I was expecting I'm gonna be hungry later eventually, but I sure was proven wrong. That meal filled me up proper, a little too proper because I felt absolutely stuffed after eating it all. I'm not one to complain about a good problem. Sure I felt uncomfortable, bloated and sluggish after eating that meal but I will take that any day in the week over feeling unsatisfied and unfulfilled because if you're gonna spend $30+ on a meal, you SHOULD get your money's worth and that was a meal I could very well split with two and felt very fine with that. So props to PC for a gut busting meal, for the price I paid for lunch, I should feel like I'm going to spontaneously combust, better that than still feeling empty. That was an amazing meal that I'm STILL feeling the effects of as I write this review going on 8 PM on the same day I ate there at 12:30 PM. The vibe is also solid too, the workers are friendly and service was pretty swift. Took less than 6 minutes for my meal to find my table.
