I think this is a good place if you're in the area and are in need of a bagel sandwich, but at the same time, it didn't really "wow" me. The flavor was okay, the chicken sausage was not bad but it could have used alittle more flavor on the egg. The bagel could have been toasted a bit more. We had the a dirty chai latte which was delicious, but you will encounter a but of a line for this place.
There was of course a long line to order at any Leon's Bagel location. But we had seen a hack where you could skip the line and order on Doordash to pick up, which was so efficient and by the time we arrived, our bagels were ready. You can customize your bagels as well, which we had done with the Lox bagels. The bagels were huge and so good, we could barely finish 1 whole bagel. It was super filling and stuffed with all the toppings. Is it the best bagel I've had? Maybe, maybe not. It was good though, but if I had not known about the hack to order on uber eats, I would say it was mediocre if I had to wait. Still delicious overall, but probably not the best bagel I've had in New york.
Stumbled upon Leon's after Googling for a good NYC bagel spot downtown, and man, am I glad I found this place. Their tagline is "Nothing Fancy," but don't let that fool you, the food speaks for itself. I had a toasted bagel with the lox spread, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. The bagel was perfectly toasted with a crisp exterior and chewy inside, and the lox spread was creamy, well-balanced, and flavorful without being overly fishy. It hit that sweet spot. I also grabbed an iced matcha latte, which was smooth, refreshing, and exactly what I needed on a hot summer day. Sometimes the best places really are the ones that keep things simple. Nothing fancy just really, really good bagels and coffee. I'll definitely be back.
Yet another hyped up bagel shop. Ordered the bacon and egg sandwich and was totally unimpressed. Like I could make that at home. Nothing special.
I waited over 30 minutes for an egg and cheese with a chicken patty. By the time my food arrived, it was cold, and the coffee was well below average with an odd taste. The bagel itself was good, but I think this place is overly hyped and overpriced, especially considering it's a very small, takeout-style shop with limited space. In my opinion, you're paying more for the hype than the quality. It also felt like the service was intentionally slow to keep a line outside, creating the impression that it's a must-visit spot and attracting more customers through curiosity. I'd recommend skipping this place and trying Apollo Bagels instead, which is only half a block away. I had a much better experience there and the bagels were far better.
A very good a loaded classic lox! I loved that it came with cucumber, it gave it an extra freshness ending. I got it on an egg everything and I like it because it wasn't too thick, perfect consistency. My husband got the egg, cheese and bacon on an everything and it was also delicious. This location is just a satellite store, but they have a bench outdoors where you can enjoy your bagel. I didn't like that they charged me for water and for ketchup. At one point I thought they were going to charge me for napkins.
Food: got the everything bagel with bacon egg and cheese and jalapeño cream cheese. this was very tasty but not worth $16 for one bagel. And there's no seating anywhere. These companies must be stopped or we'll be paying $30 for a bagel soon enough. Service: take out window, quick ordering and waited 10 minutes for the bagel Ambiance: eat on the patio in front, it's one bench and you can stand nearby and eat your bagel...
Leon's bagels definitely lived up to the height. I got a bacon, egg and cheese and added some cream cheese as well as the chili oil and it was delicious. These bagels are definitely heavy so you can share for sure.
Honestly not really worth the hype or the line. Be prepared to wait at least 25 minutes. There are a few seats outside but not enough for all the people in line. The bagel is also just okay nothing special. You could probably get the same thing all over New York. The egg was cooked fine and the sausage was a bit small. Overall it was a fine sandwich.
10/10 no notes. The photos speak for themselves! The price is a little steep but it's completely justified once you take that first bite. Everything was fresh flavorful and absolutely worth the hype. When I arrived the line was about eight people deep, and unfortunately it was raining which wasn't the most enjoyable experience. Just something to keep in mind this is a walk-up window with very limited outdoor seating. Since it was raining we ended up finding a covered spot nearby to enjoy our bagels. The staff were fantastic and even offered recommendations for which bagel paired best with the type of sandwich we ordered. Great service, great food, and definitely a spot I'd return to.
Leon's Bagels Thompson Street Breakfast Sandwich was excellent, lined up to a takeaway window, ordered and waited a bit and detoured the delicious bagel sandwich. So many nice places to try and eat, this is one of them

Tried Leons Bagel for the first time and tried the Bacon Egg and Cheese and Classic Lox Bagel. This was my first time trying a Lox bagel and I have to admit I get the hype. The smoked salmon was really good and buttery. Only con was how messy it got when eating. The bacon egg and cheese bagel was good, but also tasted like any other bacon egg and cheese bagels I have had.

OMG the hype for this place is real! We walked in around 1pm on a Sunday afternoon and though there was a line, the line moved pretty fast (max 20 minutes?). Ambiance is very casual-- it's a take out only institution. - Bacon egg and cheese: 10/10 (this is tbh more of a sandwich with bagel as the bread, than it's a bagel! Loveddd the egg bread and loveddd how the cheese was cheese-ing if you know what I mean. Definitely on the heavier side and I suggest adding hot honey on the side to add even more flavor) read more
I get it, the love for NY bagels! This place had a line but not as long as the other spot next to them. I came here because they had bagel sandwiches. I got the lox bagel and it did not disappoint. This might have been one of my favorite things I ate in NY. I got the egg everything bagel which is brioche bread. DELISH! Regret not getting a sauce because it was a bit dry but that's in me. It was everything a bacon egg and cheese should be. Unfortunately the coffee machine was down so I was not able to try their coffee but the bagel was delicious. The ladies were super nice. I visited Leon's Bagels on a Monday morning with my sister. We ordered online after hearing that they often have a line. I built my own bagel sandwich with a scooped & toasted plain bagel, tomato, smoked salmon, light jalapeño cream cheese, & sauce on the side. My sister also customized her own sandwich with a toasted plain bagel, plain cream cheese, & smoked salmon. We both loved our sandwiches & are sad they don't have locations near us. read more

My first NY bagel and it did not disappoint. When I tell you this bagel was life-changing, I mean it. A GOOD plain bagel is a sign of a great bagel shop and this was just that. Everything was so fresh and I could eat spoonfuls of the scallion cream cheese. Will def be back to NYC solely for this! read more

Everything bagel with plain cream cheese and avocado. Simple and very filling. I did appreciate how soft the bagel was. Where I'm from, unfortunately the bagels are tough and chewy. My only negative is the price but it's a trendy spot so I get it. read more

Popular bagel spot in NYC! Be prepared for super long lines. Specifically at this location. Pop up bagel is next door so its just really crowded in general. The bagel was delish. Finished the whole thing. It was like $16 tho which is pretty steep. Still think its worth it though to get the full NYC bagel experience read more

Stopped by Sunday morning, there was a small line but it moved pretty quickly! The spot is an order window, no seating inside or anything, but there's a wooden seating area on the street. Ordered a sausage egg and cheese on an egg bagel and it was delicious, and just as expected. I would definitely go back. waited for 30 min to order. stood crowded in a street with about 100 ppl waited 40 min to get the bagel. got the bagel. :( so sad. not good. ate half. costco bagel vibes I don't understand the hype around this place. will never be returning. ppl always rave about this place, not sure if it's actually just not that good or if there quality goes down when they are under pressure. They were just not giving the vibes that they were in it for quality tasting food but just aesthetic. We should have been warned on there bags it day "nothing fancy" and it truly was nothing fancy. Good bagel, I really only go when they have collabs with other brands. This time it was with one of my favorite sunscreen brands Beauty of Joseon. They were giving sunscreen samples . It's the lack of seating here really is my hang up cause I dont want to stand and eat breakfast. The service however has been consistently pleasant and quick . They had a small seating area at this location, it was full. I walked a while before I found a park I could sit . The Salted Caramel Cream cheese ( I believe was a special for the collab) was so delicious and it was whipped till the consistency seemed like thick but light butter instead of cream cheese. Very very good. I've only had bagels and coffee ar Leon's but they do offer breakfast sandwich options. read more
I don't know anything about NYC Bagels, but similar to pizza, people have their "spots". While exploring the city one morning, my friend decided to take me to Leon's Bagels. Luckily there wasn't a huge line so it gave me a chance to look at their menu and decide what I was going to order. Behind the register, there's baskets of different bagels... don't let that fool you, they have even more bagels in the back. Lots of people taking pics of their bagels for the gram... I had to do it for the Yelp lol Ordered the Bacon Egg Cheese on a Egg bagel... walked to Washington Square Park, found a park bench and even in the 20 degree weather, the bagel was hot, soft, cheesy and delicious! read more
The bagel sandwich that I got here was divine, I got the smoked salmon sandwich. but I do imagine there may be fresher bagels with a shorter wait in the city. There is a little seating area to wait at, but mainly you are on the sidewalk waiting for your food. The line was very long when I went, but there's a line for many things in New York. I think it would go faster if there was a menu posted that you could see while you were waiting. The only thing I minded was that my coffee and my bagel were done almost 10 minutes apart, I think it took about 20 minutes total for my sandwich to come out. Out of all of the places in the neighborhood I think Leon's is the best and they have cornered the market on the sandwiches - the other bagel spot on the block doesn't make them! read more
Cute little storefront selling bagel sandwiches. I will say the menu is a bit confusing as there is zero pricing anywhere. I had no idea how much our bagel sandwiches would cost which made it nerve racking to build your own. But overall the actual bagels were pretty delish. I enjoyed their egg bagel as that was a fun twist you don't see often. There's not really any place to sit, so this would be great to take to a nearby park. read more
Reallllllly didn't want to give into the hype of this place, but this is my new favorite bagel sandwich in the city. The bacon, egg and cheese is so delicious. The egg is perfectly cooked, not overcooked w/ lots of flavor. It's the perfectly softly toasted bagel that isn't difficult to bite into. The bagel itself is so delish. Service is incredible, very great customer service. Unfortunately gonna have to wait in a line if you go at peak times but it's worth it! Came here Saturday at 11am and from time we got in line to time we got to order and received food was just about 60 mins and we were end of line right at the corner. Ordered a plain bagel with jalepeno cream cheese and a plain bagel sausage egg and cheese. Overall bagels were just ok and don't think an hour wait is worth it. The jalepeno cream cheese was great but the cream cheese to bagel ratio was lacking The sausage egg and cheese was kind of bland. read more
My new favorite bagel spot in New York! I had the breakfast sandwich bagel with Bacon, Egg, and cheese, and it was one of the best bagels I've had in a while. It was very flavorful and had creamy eggs. I saved some for later and it still tasted amazing hours after. The only thing I will say is I wish the bagel came with a sauce of some sort but otherwise an extremely delicious bagel. read more
We loved this bagel! Line was a little long but went fast. We got the BEC bagel sandwich on an egg everything bagel, added hot sauce. Very impressed - we're from the west and this was our first bagel stop of the trip. Fast service as well. Wish there was more seating but all good - the bagel sandwich was a hit. read more

Leon Bagels was close by our hotel in SOHO so we decided to give them a try on a Sunday morning. The line was down the sidewalk so figured this place has to be good! We waited about 30 minutes in line. The cashiers were kind and quick which kept the line moving. We ordered the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich for $8.50 and an iced mocha. The sandwich was good just a bit greasy which I wasn't crazy about. Otherwise, there is limited seating so we were standing by a dumpster which was not the greatest. Freshly baked that day, all looked so good!! The bagels were so delicious. If you want just a bagel, $2 is pretty good, the toppings add up, but worth it! Definitely a worthwhile stop in little Italy. I got the sesame with egg and chili and cream cheese and it was bomb! It's no frills spot, but hits the spot. read more

I was in New York for the day with my friend, and I will be honest: I was skeptical when she told me where we were having breakfast. However, I can tell you that my sandwich was AMAZING!! I am still thinking about it. We saw the spot had a really long line, so we ordered online and waited outside. I was nervous because I don't eat pork and really wanted a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. Based on an online menu, my friend said the sausage should be chicken, so once I placed my order, I responded to the order confirmation to ask, and they responded immediately. I was so grateful for that, especially being busy. I got a chicken sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich with hot honey, which was SO GOOD. It was honestly one of the best egg and cheese sandwiches I have ever eaten. The egg was so flavorful and well seasoned, and I couldn't help but eat the cheese on its own. I don't understand how you can make eggs and cheese so good because omg it was heavenly. I also ordered a chai tea latte, and my food was so good that I ate in silence. At one point, my friend said I was throwing my head back while sipping my chai tea. Overall, I would come back here. The service was great, the guys at the front were so so nice, and the food was excellent. There's not much space to sit on, though to accommodate the long. By far one of my favorite places for bagels in the city The bagel was perfectly doughy in texture and very fresh. Service was great and staff were quick to take my order. The made sure to double check that everything was correct too. They had a very efficient system for placing and getting orders since there was a long line in person along with a huge queue from online orders as well. The ambiance is really aesthetic and I enjoyed looking at the storefront while waiting for my order. It is definitely very Instagram friendly! read more

i got a bec on an egg everything bagel! they don't skimp on the amount of egg & bacon, though i do wish the cheese was distributed a bit more evenly throughout the sandwich. keep in mind that it's a takeout-only spot, so you'll probably be eating your bagel standing on the sidewalk. thankfully there was no line when i went since i'm not sure if i'd wait in a long line for it. that being said, if you're craving a bec bagel, you can't go wrong with leon's bagels! read more

If you want a hearty breakfast, Leon's is the place to go. The line can get long, so I highly recommend ordering ahead of time. I got the bacon egg & cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. Don't be deterred by the price because they definitely don't skimp out on ingredients. The bagel was packed with a thick layer of bacon and egg. The sandwich was so filling, I could only finish half! I look forward to trying different tops/ingredients next time around. read more
