I think this is a good place if you're in the area and are in need of a bagel sandwich, but at the same time, it didn't really "wow" me. The flavor was okay, the chicken sausage was not bad but it could have used alittle more flavor on the egg. The bagel could have been toasted a bit more. We had the a dirty chai latte which was delicious, but you will encounter a but of a line for this place.

Their tagline is "Nothing Fancy," but don't let that fool you, the food speaks for itself. I had a toasted bagel with the lox spread, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. The bagel was perfectly toasted with a crisp exterior and chewy inside, and the lox spread was creamy, well-balanced, and flavorful without being overly fishy. It hit that sweet spot. I also grabbed an iced matcha latte, which was smooth, refreshing, and exactly what I needed on a hot summer day. Sometimes the best places really are the ones that keep things simple. Nothing fancy just really, really good bagels and coffee. I'll definitely be back.

I waited over 30 minutes for an egg and cheese with a chicken patty. By the time my food arrived, it was cold, and the coffee was well below average with an odd taste. The bagel itself was good, but I think this place is overly hyped and overpriced, especially considering it's a very small, takeout-style shop with limited space. In my opinion, you're paying more for the hype than the quality. It also felt like the service was intentionally slow to keep a line outside, creating the impression that it's a must-visit spot and attracting more customers through curiosity. I'd recommend skipping this place and trying Apollo Bagels instead, which is only half a block away. I had a much better experience there and the bagels were far better.
A very good a loaded classic lox! I loved that it came with cucumber, it gave it an extra freshness ending. I got it on an egg everything and I like it because it wasn't too thick, perfect consistency. My husband got the egg, cheese and bacon on an everything and it was also delicious. This location is just a satellite store, but they have a bench outdoors where you can enjoy your bagel. I didn't like that they charged me for water and for ketchup. At one point I thought they were going to charge me for napkins.
Food: got the everything bagel with bacon egg and cheese and jalapeño cream cheese. this was very tasty but not worth $16 for one bagel. And there's no seating anywhere. These companies must be stopped or we'll be paying $30 for a bagel soon enough. Service: take out window, quick ordering and waited 10 minutes for the bagel Ambiance: eat on the patio in front, it's one bench and you can stand nearby and eat your bagel...
Honestly not really worth the hype or the line. Be prepared to wait at least 25 minutes. There are a few seats outside but not enough for all the people in line. The bagel is also just okay nothing special. You could probably get the same thing all over New York. The egg was cooked fine and the sausage was a bit small. Overall it was a fine sandwich.
Leon's bagels definitely lived up to the height. I got a bacon, egg and cheese and added some cream cheese as well as the chili oil and it was delicious. These bagels are definitely heavy so you can share for sure.
10/10 no notes. The photos speak for themselves! The price is a little steep but it's completely justified once you take that first bite. Everything was fresh flavorful and absolutely worth the hype. When I arrived the line was about eight people deep, and unfortunately it was raining which wasn't the most enjoyable experience. Just something to keep in mind this is a walk-up window with very limited outdoor seating. Since it was raining we ended up finding a covered spot nearby to enjoy our bagels. The staff were fantastic and even offered recommendations for which bagel paired best with the type of sandwich we ordered. Great service, great food, and definitely a spot I'd return to.
Leon's Bagels Thompson Street Breakfast Sandwich was excellent, lined up to a takeaway window, ordered and waited a bit and detoured the delicious bagel sandwich. So many nice places to try and eat, this is one of them

Tried Leons Bagel for the first time and tried the Bacon Egg and Cheese and Classic Lox Bagel. This was my first time trying a Lox bagel and I have to admit I get the hype. The smoked salmon was really good and buttery. Only con was how messy it got when eating. The bacon egg and cheese bagel was good, but also tasted like any other bacon egg and cheese bagels I have had.
Loved it! The egg and cheese sandwhich is great! Love that they melt the cheese in the egg, and not just add it to the bagel as a slice of cheese! Pumpernickel bagel was delicious - slightly sweet! Will be back to try the egg bagel!

Leon's is always buzzing when I walk by even with multiple locations. Service is quick, don't be intimidated by the look of the line. It is usually quick. Decided to eat a hearty breakfast sandwich with a bacon and egg with avocado added topped with ketchup and mayo. Washed it down with a strawberry matcha with oat milk. It is a storefront where you order at a stand. You wait for your order and depending on location they may or may not have a small outdoor dining area. Bagel was good and filling. Matcha was a bit sweet but sure did hit the spot. Leon's is one of my tops. It's consistent in quality and service, in my opinion. read more
Ordered: Chicken Sausage Egg & Cheese (~$11) w Scallion Cream Cheese (~$5) on Everything Bagel Toasted & Scooped Out (+75¢) Aya's take: Leon's Bagels is one of the most popular bagel spots in NYC right now. I was in the area and decided to finally try it out. The wait was around 40 mins at 11am on a Sunday. I got the Chicken Sausage Egg & Cheese w Scallion Cream Cheese on Everything Bagel. First of all as a born & raised New Yorker, charging 75¢ to scoop out the bagel is literally the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I had no idea until I saw my receipt, by the way. Also, when I got my bagel, it didn't look scooped out on the bottom half. I appreciate that the sausage option is chicken which I rarely see and is always welcomed since I don't eat pork. The bagel itself was soft and fresh but could've had more everything seasoning; the egg, cheese, & chicken sausage tasted great, and the scallion cream cheese was substantial and added some freshness and creaminess. It was a good try but ~$17 for this is a bit steep, even for NYC's standards. read more
Five stars for Leon's Bagels! This location in particular is located right outside of Little Italy in Manhattan. My husband and I took over NYC for the weekend and went to all the bagel shops. This one is top of my list! Five stars for such ooey gooey yummy savory bagels! The quality, taste, and overall freshness is amazing! Customer service was fast, friendly, and efficient! This is the perfect egg and cheese bagel on an egg bagel! I also got three egg bagels to take home to Detroit. I used Uber Eats delivered to my hotel (Arlo SoHo) and it was super fast and the friendly delivery person actually waited in the lobby for me to come down. I love that they bagged the cold bagels separate from the bagel sandwich and it all came in a nice paper bag with a handle. This will be my new go-to bagel place when I'm in NYC! read more
A pleasant surprise!! Lives up to the hype. I did the build your own bagel and loved it. Jalapeño cream cheese is fire and recommend adding the chili oil to your bagel. There can be a line so I ordered pick up while I grabbed a coffee elsewhere. Check it out! read more
Such a cute stall! A bit sad theres not much space to stand around and eat though, I feel like a bird just blocking the sidewalk and its not too weather friendly. The line can build up fast and takes some wait time. I originally came here because I had seen a video on a spicy chili crunch breakfast sandwich, but since then I guess they downsized the menu. It's a bit too doughy for my taste; I'm leaning towards Ap0llo b4gels oops... I had the sesame bagel toasted with strawberry cream cheese. The whole time, I was battling the bagel (jaw workout alert!) and the cream cheese's intensity bro like damn... hella creamy. It was a bit confusing since the bagel was quite pink like where's the strawberry flavor. It's like I see strawberry but don't taste strawberry. Also, the line was long. On the bright side, I tried Bf's bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich, and it was good. I think I only really liked it because of the bacon's deliciousness, crispiness, and saltiness. Otherwise, I think I'll stick to a simpler bagel because it's a bit heavy. read more

Someone mentioned this place to me and coincidentally I passed by this place on the way to Xing Fu Tang and the line was crazy long. And shorty after I see the PopUp Bagel and line was shorter. I thought I need to try both places. I ended up coming here today and line again was super long, but decided to get it and I got the Lox Bagel and I want to say it was good, but not life changing. I did appreciate the cucumbers added to this Lox bagel - that was a nice touch. I also like the fact I can ask for lightly toasted, because I think that's why I enjoyed this bagel a lot more, because I am not big on hard ass bagels. Good, but again not something I would die or want to wait in line for and I am glad I suggested the person to go to Fish Cheeks rather than here. They were visiting, and asked which one would I choose - Leon's or Fish Cheeks.. At that time, I haven't even heard of Leon's but I said for sure do Fish Cheeks and glad I made that call. No bagel will ever trump Fish Cheeks for me. read more
Had a craving for a bagel and stopped by Leon's to see if the hype was real. The store is a large walk-up window with all the bagels on display along with coffee - super convenient. The person helping me was really knowledgeable and gave great recommendations on which bagels pair best with each sandwich. I went with the bacon, egg, and cheese with chili crisp. One bite told me everything I needed to know. The bagel was soft with the perfect chew, and it paired so well with the egg and thick-cut bacon. The hype is definitely real. I'll be back to try something different tomorrow! read more

I got the bacon egg and cheese bagel and the lox bagel. I do recommend eating their bagel right away as the hot bagels just make everything taste better. Additionally the bacon egg and cheese bagel was surprisingly good because the spread they used balanced everything together. read more
I was so excited to try Leon's Bagels after hearing such amazing things about it. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype for me. The service was great, and the workers were all so nice. It is a small booth, pick-up only with no tables nearby to eat, but there are parks and other areas to enjoy the bagels at. My biggest problem was how my bagels were cold! It was not warm, despite being ordered toasted. The bagels were filled, but that's also because it costs $30 each! I personally do not think it is worth the price. I have been curious about this place since a few bloggers brag about coming here and how good the bagels are. Honestly I was not if they were following trends. But actually my bagel sandwich was pretty good. It wasn't what I expected, it looked like a clean aesthetic kiosk with attractive people working at it. The kitchen or cooking facility isn't seen . They get it from behind a door lol that's mysterious but kind of nice. Coffee and other drinks are made in front , the staff is ok orders are taken by one person at a iPad mini . There is a picnic table for outdoor seating . I ordered a poppy seed bagel with bacon and cheese. The bagel was fresh soft crusty on the outside and tasty, the bacon was thick and I was given a generous amount. I will only return it I am in the area, I was surprised it wasn't too expensive since it's trendy. read more
This Bagels spot may keep things simple, but sometimes simple is exactly what we need. The bagels were fresh, delicious, and had great flavor without needing anything over the top. A great spot if you want a solid bagel that just hits the spot. Definitely worth stopping by. The downside is that could have long waits but is definitely worth the wait. read more

I was super excited to get in the long line to wait for these delicious bagels even if it meant standing in the cold. We ordered the scallion cream cheese on a regular bagel and the sausage egg and cheese on a regular bagel. Both bagels were soft and had a nice crust, not to dense or to fluffly. I think they had a great bagel consistency because they were also not chewy. The bagels were so warm as the heat from the freshness showed as we ate them outside. The sausage bagel was very decadent and heavy but not where u cant finish it. I definitely will be visiting on my next nyc trip read more

After my failed NYC bagel the other day, I searched long and hard for my next bagel shop and the reviews were popping for Leon's bagels! When my bf and I arrived, it was such a long line down the block so it took like 30 mins to wait and another 15 mins to get our bagel. IT IS SO WORTH IT YALL! Orders the salmon lox on everything bagel and it is a true New York bagel. I mean just look at the photo!!! It was filling enough for 2 people and I love that there was tomato's and cucumbers compare to other salmon lox. I dream about this bagel so much that I can't wait to go back to try other bagels! read more

Stopped here for a quick bite. Bad egg bagels. I loved Absolute's egg bagels- slightly sweet, almost creamy, egg-custard-like bagels... sadly, they closed and I have been trying to find a replacement (Broadway is the closest I have found). Unfortunately, Leon's bagels were a letdown. Objectively, not a bad bagel if I had ordered merely an everything bagel. But this was supposed to be an EGG-everything bagel. This bagel was not sweet at all and tasted like a regular everything bagel- I don't know why they bother putting the word "egg" in front. The bagel came out warm which was nice but rather quickly melted the sparse layer of cream cheese. I do however love the bagel car in front of the shop- so cute! Overall, I will likely not return and do not recommend. read more
Amazing breakfast sandwich and coffee! I had been hearing about how good the breakfast sandwiches from Leon's were for a long time now and I am disappointed in myself for waiting so long to try one. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on an egg everything bagel w/ scallion cream cheese. We also tried the coffee and it was fantastic. I do not drink black coffee, however, this is the exception. No milk or sugar needed. I came here at an off time - 15 minutes before closing on a Sunday and the wait time was minimal. Not sure how bad the wait is during prime time, but it would be worth it. You should definitely try Leon's and honestly, copy my order - you will be hooked! read more
Truthfully, came to NYC for the weekend & decided it would be rude to not stop by a bagel spot. Tiktok's algorithm has been consistently feeding Leon's bagels down my throat up until I HAD to go. I will say the line was quite long, waiting over 35 minutes isn't necessarily crazy, but it did feel like it made me even more of a judge. I was not very impressed, we got a classic Sausage Egg & Cheese & Lox Bagel. I wouldn't say it's out of this world or necessarily worth the wait. But it wasn't bad, just not amazing. Cool brand, love the idea. Just underwhelming for the wait. read more

If you believe this is a good bagel in NYC, you are most certainly wrong. I've been to 20+ bagel shops in the city and Leon's ranks in the top 3 WORST. The bagels are so incredibly dense, nearly stale, and are worse than any marginal grocery store bagel. Plus, the service is deathly slow (it takes 30+ minutes to receive a single bagel) due to the constant influx of swine who think that they're Instagram influencers at the shop. read more
