I order from Leo's Cafe often (in person and via DoorDash) and I typically love the presentation and the taste. So this morning I ordered The Chelsea Boy Omelette, Cheese Grits, bowl of fresh fruit, and OJ. Needless to say when I opened the container the omelette did not look appetizing and the grits with the slice of cheese on it....well. My 4th or 5th trip to Leo's Cafe. Very disappointing this Sunday morning. Ordered the Town Breakfast and while it arrived in a timely manner, this turned out to be a negative. By the lukewarm temperature of all items I could tell the food had been cooked in advanced and was simply waiting to be ordered and served. Pretty big establishment here next to the car wash on racetrack road and S Zack Hinton parkway! Lots of outside tables very important during Covid times! This place is packed on the weekend so we came during the week. You can sit anywhere when you come in. This is the first restaurant I have been in that did not have a kids menu! Nevertheless, service was okay, food was okay, but honestly I probably won't go again. I prefer cracker barrel or would like to try some other local restaurant. I would like to see something different or special on the menu. 3 of us ordered, I think the chocolate pancakes for the child were the favorite. Otherwise,it was okay but that's it just okay. i have a very long review. we came here as a family on a friday night after learning that they were now open for dinner. their dinner menu is mostly mexican cuisine, but we didn't know that coming in because we have only ever came for breakfast and lunch. we ordered four meals and our server, please forgive me because i do not know how to spell her name, Dariana, was extremely rude. we are quiet people who sit quietly and do not ask for anything extra other than an occasional extra napkin or sauce whilst we are dining out. Dariana slammed our drinks down onto the table so hard that two of them spilled over onto the table. she then left, and did not come back to take our order. we waited and waited for about 20 minutes until one of the chefs came by and took our order. Dariana continued to walk past us multiple times and gave us dirty looks. we were all very confused at this point because the only interaction we had with her at this point was getting our drinks. Dariana then delivered our food, and when I asked for a side of ranch (which i had already ordered when placing our food order with the chef) she asked me if i really needed ranch.. i was really taken aback and she just rushed off and slammed the packet of Ken's ranch down onto the table. the food was very good and we just tried to ignore the mean glances from Dariana throughout the time that we ate our meal. she then brought the check and i noticed that the bill was about $10 more than what we figured it was going to be. i asked her if this total was correct and she said yes. i then paid and she asked me if i was going to tip... i said yes and tipped her 20% like i always do everytime we eat out. i then asked for a receipt and Dariana was very mad at me for even asking, i guess. so i went to the front and grabbed a menu so i could verify the prices. i noticed that the prices on my receipt were almost double than what what advertised on the menu. when i called Dariana over so i could show her, she snatched the menu from my hands and asked me if i wanted a refund for the items. I SAID YES! she then went to who i am assuming is the manager and brought over a different menu than the menu i had, and told me that these were the correct prices now and i was not going to be getting a refund. she told me i was lying about seeing different prices on the menu and it was my fault.. at this point i truly had no idea what she was even talking about so i went back to the front and grabbed the menus that my family had and showed her the prices. she snatched it from me and told me i was lying. i will probably not be back even though their lunch and breakfast menu is great. unfortunately the customer service just isn't. read more

This was my first time at this establishment. I came in for a quick but hearty breakfast, and was pleased with the warm and friendly welcome from the waitress when I first walked in. I was told that I could sit anywhere, and within the first minute that I had sat down another waitress had gotten my drink order (I ordered an Arnold Palmer - the SWEETEST Arnold Palmer that I have EVER had!). Another waitress came and took my food order. I got a shipwreck omlette (it has corned beef hash, home fries, and cheddar cheese, and I asked if steak could also be added to it, which I paid extra for). For my side, I chose cheese grits and raisin toast. The omlette, which came out in a very reasonable amount of time, was a nice large serving, but not overwhelming. There were more potatoes than any other filling, and I was a bit disappointed that the corned beef hash was the canned variety and not the version that you get at other breakfast establishments that I've frequented (like Goldberg's), but the flavor was great and the hash was nice and crispy, which is the ONLY way that I like to ready canned corned beef hash. The steak was cooked and seasoned well. I took off a star because the cheese grits I ordered was a Styrofoam cup with grits with am American cheese slice thrown on top (it didn't look appetizing at ALL). Ordered 5 Empanadas to go (2 beef, 2 guava and cheese, and 1 chicken). The guava and cheese were hands down my favorite, and the sweet and salty taste combination was WONDERFUL. The beef were also good, and what I expect from a decent beef Empanada. The chicken was just ok, and the filling is reminiscent, at least to me, of the shredded chicken breast in a can. The service was quick, the waitresses were friendly, the food was decent with good portions, and its a nice clean establishment. read more

This is one of the best breakfasts I've had in years! While in town visiting my elderly uncle, my spouse and I took him to Leo's. The Eggs Benedict menu alone is worth it. I wanted to try them all- there has to be at least 8 kinds! I'm an avid Eggs Benny fan, but haaate when I get over or undercooked poached eggs. These eggs were perfectly done! My uncle, who has fairly light appetite these days, finished his entire plate. (Which was an accomplishment that even I couldn't muster with such generous portion sizes.) We had also ordered some sides of French toast and pancakes, and while the French toast was good, the pancakes were outstanding! I can guarantee we will be visiting Leo's again when in town. read more

Leo's has become one of my weekly go to for brunch! Being a pescatarian isn't easy when it comes to finding breakfast joints that will adjust anything aside of the usual get eggs/pancakes/waffles.. Leo's is now like my family, so attentive and some days I bring my own form of protein but most I can make an omelette from anything and everything they have. They know what you like and don't like, the owner loves to support young adults in college and they know that on breaks they will always have a job. If you love to have a little fun with brunch then the flavored mimosa is a must. Most of the time they know that my kid has a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel by heart along with a hot chocolate before we can even order our drinks are always on the table ahead of time so when I tell you that every single employee loves to make you feel welcome they really do. I hope that you guys get to try this little gem that has been mine for the past three years. Easy to find. Plenty of parking. Greeting and quick seating upon entry (you can sit anywhere). The food came out quickly, and was still fresh. I ordered a hot chocolate, a breakfast sandwich on whole wheat bread, consisting of eggs and chicken sausage, along with a side of square hash browns. The meal was good and filling. Chicken sausage cut up and spilling out. Hash browns LARGE and crisp as ever. I washed it all down with a tall glass of water. I would definitely return. Never heard of this place until my friend mentioned she wanted to go. It's family owned so I'm always willing to try these out. Located in a plaza... depending on what time you go... parking can be tricky but not difficult to maneuver at all. We were seated quickly and helped by a few people. The menu had several options to try. I almost couldn't figure out what I wanted. They offer breakfast and lunch. I tried a burger. It was okay. My friend suggested that next time I try breakfast instead. I think I will. The employees were very helpful and professional. I appreciated that. Everything at Leo's is awesome! The food is diverse, and I have never had anything that I did not enjoy. The staff is friendly (usually Leo or his mom or dad) and we always feel welcome. They do a special every now and then where you get a full 3-course meal; we are anxiously waiting for our first chance to attend this (by reservation only) next Friday night (November 1st). 90 current health score, good service, great food and a pleasant environment. Leo's was pretty busy but the staff had the machine moving very fluid-like. The only reason I knew that it was busy is because the parking lot was full and my eyes and ears actually work, but my service was unaffected and I wouldn't have known otherwise based on the speed and efficiency of the staff. Though my meal overall was pretty outstanding, the hashbrowns definitely could have used a little more seasoning and my omelet was thoroughly cooked (Which isn't a slight by any means, because I'd MUCH rather have a well cooked omelette or eggs, as opposed to them being loose and runny). They close at 2:30 and if I'm not mistaken, they only serve breakfast and brunch...If was in the area, I would definitely go again. read more

This is a really nice and small spot. The service is AMAZING!!!!! The waitresses work in a rotation, they are constantly asking are you ok and ready to take your order or answer any questions that you may have. This was our first time ans we arrived about 9:30 am on a Sunday. By 10:05 we were finish with our food and the place was now packed! The food: The JEFF OMELET...... Description may have you second guessing it because it look like it may be too much going on. Well the flavor works GREAT together! The CRACKER OMELET..... the meat for this says steak, but it is like steak umm. This was my omelet and you can see in the picture the egg looks over cooked. The FRENCH TOAST was sent back! It was overcooked but doughy when I attempted to eat it. The server was very apologetic about it and the removed it right away. This Cafe is literally around the corner from where I live. It's always packed. I've been here a few times, it never disappoint. This day how ever I ordered a spinach omelette with feta cheese. Drove by this cafe a few times and finally decided to stop in for a bite to eat. Its a small cafe but it was crowded. The price, in my opinion, was reasonable. They charge an extra 2.7% fee if you use your card. That sucks but i get it. I had an order of pancakes and it was very good. Nice and light. The eggs and bacon was also really good. I am still in search of a great Breakfast/Brunch restaurant in McDonough. I think I have tried them all now. I gave this place 4 stars because they have been the best so far compared to all the others I have tried. I had the corned beef hash with over medium eggs, potatoes, and rye toast. The hash was the typical restaurant hash. The potatoes were excellent- I am not normally impressed with breakfast potatoes. These were soft and fluffy inside each little nugget with just the right touch of spice and crispy on the outside. The rye toast was barely toasted and served cold. I ordered hollandaise for my potatoes, it was broken, yet had a good flavor. The eggs were cooked perfectly over medium. My sister had the blueberry short stack and they were filled with real blueberries. They were large and filling. The breakfast I ordered included coffee and juice. We found the pricing to be very reasonable and the food portions large. The service was quick and the servers were very nice and attentive. If I could give no stars I would. We came during brunch time so we expected a wait. We were surprised they were able to seat us within 15min but awesome. We ordered and was excited to try this place. Little did we know, it took them 40-1 hour for our food. I had to keep on asking the waiters to check on our food and they would say it's coming out soon. There was NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE SERVERS AND KITCHEN STAFF. I work in the food industry and the kitchen staff were bouncing around the ticket because I put my food in first but was the last one at our table to get the food. They need to work on their kitchen staff or get more organize back there. Server would not give us updates unless we ask, only ask if we want more coffee. New table sat next to us and they already received their order within 20min - 30min. The owner needs to get a new kitchen staff because it's ridiculous how long they take to get through their ticket. Servers need to learn to check on customer and give updates on their food if it will take long. Don't come here unless you don't mind waiting on your food! read more

This little spot is truly a hidden gem! I usually order online and have their food delivered to my house, but I decided that I wanted to try it when it was fresh! We went there on a Saturday at 8:00am in the morning and it wasn't really that busy. They work fairly quickly so the tables don't take that long to empty. The waitress was very sweet and the other people that worked there was super nice aswell. Our table got checked on quite often and they took the dirty dishes off our table very frequently.
