We came in here with a a large crowd and were treated with the best service we have had in a long time. Our service was extremely attentive and prompt. The waitress even stated she has only been waitressing for two months. We were beyond impressed. We ordered many coney specials, fish and chips, chicken skewers, and a burger. All were tasty, warm, and what is expected of a Coney. Fries were hot, but did need a bit of salt. I knocked one star off because the iced tea tasted like it was burnt. I decided to stop in for an authentic Coney Dog since I was visiting from outta town. I'd like to start my stating this location has plenty of parking at the corner of Jefferson and 9 mile. I walked in to place my order to go. Since its still Covid-19 I will state no mask are required and no staff had on mask. I was greeted and my order was taken within five months minutes. Two coney were almost $5.00 and since I walked in and ordered I didn't get pictures of the menu. There was no wait. Overall the staff was friendly and food was good. I would recommend this location. Everything can be improved at this Leo's location. There was a handful of people in the restaurant and still it took 15 minutes for someone to recognize us and place an order. The cashier was in his "own little world." He didn't even want to make eye contact with anyone. Not a restaurant-friendly attitude. I will say our server was very nice and efficient once he came to our booth. Our food was good too. The ambiance is definitely an item to work on improving. The tables need to be cleaned, but vacuums don't need to be used during dinner hour. At the end of our meal we were the only couple in the place waiting for our bill to leave. Then we became the only people in the room even the host/cashier disappeared into the conference room. We could have walked out, but finally I had to start waving my hands in the air to get the bill. This Leos needs a great deal of work, in terms of interior and food preparation. The carpet is nasty, tables need clean up and overall presence is sad! Had a coupon for eggs, choice of meat, toast and hash browns, everything came out semi warm. Bacon was dry and scrambled eggs look like they were left overs, didn't get the toast, since there were boxed hash browns, barely warm. I swore I wasn't coming back, but after two years I hoped they had improved, silly me! Poor waitresses look exhausted, obviously over worked, with not much help. Hadn't been to this Leo's in a while and it has really gone down hill. The entire restaurant was very dirty and worn down. The table had chucks of varnish peeling off, the carpet looks like it hasn't been replaced in years, and the bathroom was a disaster. Even the food quality went down the chicken tenders were more like chicken jerky, super dry and very thin. The staff were very nice, when we brought this up to them they told us that this was not the first time people brought this up with them. When I looked at the reviews on YELP before I posted this they last two reviews were also about how dirty the restaurant was so this is not a new issue. read more

I said I was going to refrain from leaving a review but for this I absolutely need to. I should have known that the service was going to be terrible when the first time I called and they picked up the phone and then immediately hung up. When I called again, thinking maybe they didn't know how to use the phone, I placed the order and I had to repeat it 3x's. Only to arrive and find that the order was STILL wrong. So, I waited another 10min to get the rest of my order after no one acknowledged that they got it wrong, just telling me what they thought I said. Again, after repeating it 3x's. And I finally got the remaining part of my order, AGIAN, still wrong. I just left hoping to enjoy my cold pancakes when I got home. The turkey was sliced lunchmeat, cut in strips, with nothing on it- no mayo, no dressing of any kind. Tasteless. I also ordered a quart of lemon rice soup. It was rancid. I was at Leo's Saturday, November 20, 21, with my Aunt for dinner. What a lousy dinner. I definitely won't be back. I ordered fish and chips. Waitress said it was a best seller. My fries were not cooked on the inside. My cole slaw was filled not quite halfway, and the fish was awful! I am a fan of batter on fish, but this was extreme. It was like two little pieces of fish wrapped in an extra large winter coat of batter which I peeled off in one large sheet. My Aunt had a burger that was cooked so long it was dry and lacked flavor. HORRIBLE SERVICE If I could give this place zero stars I would. The food is fine, it's a good spot for diner food, but the service is absolutely atrocious. Twice now we have had Amy as our waitress and we have received the worst service that I have ever had. I thought that she was maybe having a bad day the first time around, but clearly it's just poor job performance at this point. We waited over fifteen minutes to order while she ran around to provide fast service to a couple that arrived after us (people that she clearly knew) and they had finished their entire meal plus dessert before we got our food. Refills on drinks were slow and had to be asked for multiple times. Parts of our order had to be asked for multiple times after food had already arrived at our table. Steak and eggs was poorly prepared, with the steak being mostly silver skin and gristle. I received a dirty spoon with my soup, but couldn't ask for a clean one because Amy didn't show back up at the table until our food FINALLY came out. Then, to round out the experience, Amy approached the table with a mouthful of donut which she was chewing with her mouth open as she walked around the dining room, with visible droplets of spit flying out of her mouth as she spoke to us. Absolutely disgusting. Have we forgotten that COVID-19 is still around? I don't particularly want to be spit on by staff in a restaurant. I've eaten at several Leo's and they all offer ok food served quick. Today I should have just got up and left. The waitress took my order for half stack of blueberry pancakes and a slice of ham. I was being charged a buck or so extra for the blueberries. The food was served quickly but no blueberries. I mentioned this to the waitress and she said they were inside the paper thin pancakes, which obviously wasn't the case, but I cut one open with the fork anyway just to humor myself. No blueberries. She said she would take care of it and disappeared with the plate of pancakes. She returned shortly and apologized for the mix-up and proceeded to serve me the now cold pancakes I had cut open, and now topped with exactly 9 frozen blueberries. I should have left but I was hungry and out of time so I removed the blueberries and ate the cold pancakes. I'd liked to have had another cup of coffee but she vanished and I never saw her again.
