This diner is so cool!!! The decor and ambiance is awesome and the food is amazing!!!! I started with the Greek yogurt with fresh berries drizzled with honey. The yogurt was definitely fresh made, berries were plump and fresh and the honey was spectacular. This simple dish is a triumph!! My husband and I shared the French toast layered with the ricotta and fresh berries. I don't recall the cute name on the menu but the description will help you find it on the menu. The only great thing about this place is its location. Other than this, it's just yet another typical diner of "OK" kind. We went there once having found our regular place packed. Cute hidden spot right on Main Street! It's a much more lowkey restaurant compared to most in the area but because of this we were able to be seated and served quickly. Typical egg breakfast was good, nothing too special but satisfied my breakfast craving. Might have been a little bit too much butter on the toast, it dampened the bread and made it soggy. The woofa goofa french toast could've been a little bit sweeter for my preference but the fruit inside was still nice and fresh. Omelets were probably the star of the breakfast. Leo's is one of my favorite breakfast spots. The menu is simple and to the point. Service is fast and the food is excellent.There are no frills or overly-complicated dishes. I love breakfast sandwiches, and usually order the Gringo or the Trio. Both delicious. Their home-fries are quite good, too. I recommend sitting at the counter if you can. Came here on Saturday rainy morning right after my night shift because I was craving good diner food. I walked in, and the signs that said "sorry we are closed" greeted me along with a couple tables filled with people. I asked the owner if i can dine in. He told me to "move" as he moved the signs outside and had them face "we are open." He came back and I asked if i can sit by the windows and he sounded annoyed as he said, "go sit! Thats why i moved the signs!" As flustered as I was, i sat and he came over to take my order, which was omelette with swiss cheese, tomato, spinach, mushroom, and onion and a small cup of OJ. Before I could ask for a side of wheat toast, he turned around and walked away taking away the menu. He served every other tables except mine and i had to sit and wait for my check until a waitress happened to walk around to refill coffee. I always liked this diner and the food is decent. The blueberry pancakes tasted like onion and had eggs attached to them. The home fries had literally no flavor and tasted like boiled potatoes. Home fries are usually fried in a pan. These had no salt nothing and were soft and boiled. Feels like home I love this diner. There are plenty of breakfast options in Waltham but Leo's is by far my favorite. I believe it is owned by two brothers and they are both always there every time I go in. One is working the grill like crazy and the other is serving customers. They make the perfect team. Came here on a Sunday morn because In a pickle was full and bursting at the seams. So I figured to give this joint a chance...I'm afraid to say but never again. It's hard to be objective when one has been to a place packed but still get the attention and the service of a slow day. I must admit I was starving so my level of tolerance is much smaller. Wow....good morning sir...coffee would be great. To say the least this bkfst experience was bad. The staff looks miserable and the vibe is anti-customer. The food however was good. I ordered el matador omelet. It claimed to have chorizo and it did but very hard to find. It was still tasty...I do remind you...I was starving so a piece of paper would have tasted fantastic. Came here for brunch. Leo seems like a cool dude and has lived some type of life. You can see/feel it in the ambiance & decor of the restaurant but I wasn't impressed with the lamb kebab I had. I would eat here everyday if I could. French toast creations for days. Every item we've tried has been amazing. The absolute best is the Woofa Goofa. I've tried other places in the area since now I'm obsessed with French toast - no one else even comes close. Ive concluded that they actually must make their food with love since I don't know how else they can change someone's day by eating their creations. We found them during one of the most trying times in our life. This was the only thing I looked forward to when everything else fell apart. They care about their customers and it's obvious by the messages they write on the bags, the postcards they attach to take out or the recommendations given when you go inside. We moved out of delivery range and at the moment, we're going through yet another trying time, this one seeming worse than the first, so we don't have the funds for take out but I can absolutely say that Leo's will be the very first place on my list when I can treat myself; I don't want shoes, purses or clothes. I HATED this place... Tried ordering a burger, they said they can't serve it around breakfast time, so then tried ordering a sandwich, also a no-go... Annoyed, I asked for whatever had the most meat and the waitress recommended an American (or something) omelet that's served with steak. Not a fan of omelets but better than nothing. Omelet comes and there's ZERO meat in it... Confused, I asked the waitress "where's the meat?" and it turns out the guy that made it just started working there today (according to him) and messed it up. So now I have to wait there and get my food when the rest of my party is almost done with theirs and rush the meal, which is never fun. The messed up order and lack of options isn't what really pissed me off though. When the right order finally came, there was still barely any meat there (I expected something bursting in the seams with steak), which was probably for the best because whatever pieces I was able to fish out had absolutely no flavor... none. That steak's never even been in the same zip code as marinade. The omelet itself? Yep, you guessed, zero.0 flavor, no salt, garlic powder, nothing. Home fries? A tiny bit of flavor, but not nearly enough and they were nice and mushy to boot. At least the vegetables inside the omelet were perfectly seasoned... err, no, no they were not. I had to order a side of bacon and bbq sauce to be able to eat that tasteless pile of crap. In the end, this was one of the most disappointing meals I've ever had, especially since I had high expectations. There're few things more frustrating than investing time/effort in going out to eat and ending up with a belly full of flavorless, hastily put together chicken feed. I can't imagine anyone enjoying those omelets without drenching it sauce/dressing. I don't know about you but a meal that needs to be soaked in bbq sauce to be palatable is a meal not worth eating... I suggest driving a few miles over to Johnny's in Newton Center; I've never been but it can't possibly be worse than this. read more

The best way to describe this place is Terrible... Let's start with terrible service. We sat ourselves after not being acknowledged by any staff upon entering. We then waited at least 10 mins before being given a menu. We then waited another 20 minutes or so to place our order. During this time the waitstaff and cook were loudly arguing and appeared frazzled and angry. After waiting 40 something minutes for our food we were given terrible omelettes (over cooked, barely any cheese), a small handful of frenchfries (they ran out of homefries), and white toast (we were never asked what type of toast we wanted). We ate as fast as we could to get out of there... Judging by the appearances on every other customers face they were all having similar experiences. passing through town before heading out on the interstate on our roadtrip, we were hungry. i "nearby'd" us to find a diner. and so we were actually trying to get to wilson's diner on main street - but there was construction clogging up the whole avenue and as we sat there debating how long we were willing to sit in traffic, i looked to my left and voila, leo's place beckoned. so the hubby pulled a strategic u-turn and we got curbside parking right in front. things were looking good and this worked out really well for us. we were warmly greeted, invited to sit where we'd like, and enjoyed the cool decor (obviously leo knows some peeps in the music biz). leo must also have a thing about root beer because there is a big beautiful cooler filled with every brand of root beer you can imagine. service was super friendly and attentive. we were in the mood for breakfast and the variety of breakfast items was impressive. holy cow, if you can't find the breakfast item you want at leo's,...you must be looking on the lunch page (which is also impressive!). i went with maestro's morning symphony - signature pancakes "loaded with fresh berries and fruit", the menu said. and oh wow, leo's not kidding - and they do not skimp at all! i was delighted when my plate arrived with three beautifully golden buttermilk pancakes adorned with fresh bananas, strawberries, pomegranate, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, a grapefruit wedge and an orange wedge. there was so much fresh fruit on my plate that it almost made me feel healthy as i devoured the buttermilk pancakes. it was a symphony in my mouth. i really enjoyed everything about leo's place. give them a try and i bet you will too. read more

I don't want to do this review. I don't want to do this review because I would like to make sure I can get a table when I go to Leo's. However I want them to have a lot of business, so I am giving the review.. We went in and my girlfriend and I both got omelets. She's been there before, but we did get a fruit plate also. The fruit plate was awesome, and they had an option of Ricotta and Honey, along with the option of Yogurt and Honey. It tastes like they use clover honey, and I'm not a fan of that, but the variety of the plate was epic. Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Cantalope, Grapefruit, Orange, Strawberries, Grapes, Kiwi, Bananas. There was something for everyone (and my girlfriend polished off the ricotta and honey like it was something new and fresh for her). I got their omelet that had salmon, basil, and onion in it. It was a good omelet, but I will say that the potatoes it came with were perfect. They were nicely seasoned and crisp. We got a couple of pieces of cake to go (Salted Carmel, and a piece of carrot cake). It was also really good. Go give them business! read more

The only reason this is a 1 star is because 0 isn't an option. Talk about a complete and utter disappointment. When we walked in we weren't offered a seat but when we asked, we were encouraged to find a "clean" table to sit at. After 15 minutes of a completely incompetent wait staff looking around confused the quality of this establishment was revealed. We were not Offered menus or silverware let alone service. After looking around and seeing the majority of the "restaurant" wasn't being served either we decided to leave before the hulk came out of my friend. We went down the street to another diner where we ran into 4 other tables that had left right after us. We were able to bond over the terrible dining experience which softened the blow. No wonder they got kicked out of Cambridge. If you have any sense whatsoever you will read this review and avoid this place at all costs. Finally, a breakfast place worth writing about in Waltham! Since Pickle moved, it's gone way downhill. Leo's makes up for it and more. Good food, great atmosphere, old world charm (love the hat, Rafi!) I love bruschetta, so I had the Tuscan Diva Omelette - and it did not disappoint. (Rafi served the food himself). Fresh ingredients and very tasty. And the bacon (which a lot of places skimp on) was excellent too. Cleanliness is worth mentioning also: floors, tables, dishes and flatware - all of it met even my wife's high standards. Step out of Waltham and into the Old World. You'll be glad you did. read more
