I have never been to a pho place this clean! It's not a big place, just a handful of small tables. You place orders at the cashier and then pick up your water and utensils next by, then grab a table. The menu is also not as extensive as the regular Vietnamese pho places; just a handful of pho and a handful of rice bowl choices along with some interesting appetizers and rolls. Service was really good. I got recommendations from the cashier and she checked on us after food was delivered. We had a Beef Brisket Pho, Wagyu Beef Rice Bowl, Beef Tendon small plate, and Pork Patty Roll. The broth of the pho was good, sweet with depth. We love the beef tendon! It was so soft and tasted just like jello! The Wagyu beef rice bowl is like the Korean bibimbap, a lot of chopped veggie, a fried egg and beef. I couldn't tell if the beef is Wagyu or not, since the texture didn't stand out. The Pork Patty roll surprised me of how crunchy it was inside. The pork Patty is like the Vietnamese sweet sausage, I like it better than the regular Vietnamese spring roll. Overall a nice stop for lunch after the Nixon Presidential Library visit and it's only 0.3 miles away. read more

I honestly don't understand how this place has such high reviews. The food was SO bad. The service was great, but wow... I've never had pho with such a bland, flavorless broth. I've never had to add salt to pho just to make the broth taste like something. It was that bad. They advertise MSG-free broth that's simmered for 8 hours, but honestly, it tasted like they simmered boiling water for 8 hours and forgot to add the beef. The egg rolls were basically just filled with carrots, and the noodles were doughy and seemed undercooked. The service was great, but unfortunately the food was a complete miss. I've had LePho a couple times and it's been fantastic. I had the wagyu brisket pho bowl - the beef, broth, and noodles were all perfectly balanced together and the broth was especially amazing with a super rich and meaty flavor yet somehow still very smooth and light. I finished the entire bowl and it left me feeling very satisfied like my insides had a warm hug. I also had the rib eye bowl the last time I went and it was also great. I sampled the chicken rice bowl as well and all the items in it were very simple yet delicious. I really liked how fresh and zesty all the veggies were and they balanced the heavy broth from the pho. Restaurant is small and cozy with only a few tables but was very clean with a bright decor - perfect spot for a quick lunch or dinner. Service was very nice both times I went - they helped me understand between the different bowl options and confirmed the ones that I selected were halal which was much appreciated! My family likes coming here and think the pho is the best tasting in the area (north OC). I like the ribeye out of the meat options, the brisket and eye round are too dry for me. The portions are a bit smaller, especially the appetizers and vermicelli options. The place is casual, you order in the counter and they bring the food to you. it's also very self service, you get your own water & utensils. Nothing wrong with that, just different. Place is clean. Food is whatevers though. The egg rolls seem to be a tofu mixture which needed some type of meat as it feels like it's missing something. Now the actual pho bowl was OK but more towards the disappointing side. Their Wagyu doesn't really taste/textured like Wagyu, I'd much prefer they use cheaper cuts if it's not going to to elevate it from regular cuts. The soup does feel more "clean", but you are missing crucial spices and notes that you'd get from traditional pho restaurants. It feels kind of bland and not rich. LePho is the 2nd restaurant in OC under the same moniker and I must say- they have some delicious options here. Firstly, as others have noted the pho broth is very clean and delicious. Not overly sweet nor inundated with star anise. The portion for the brisket pho was a bit smaller than I expected and I did wish they included more veggies. But the broth alone makes it worth it. It's not vegetarian friendly, although they do have a rice bowl with tofu and a fried egg. That's pretty much the only vegetarian item on the menu. I had the tofu pho (meat broth) and the cucumber salad. It was so good. Especially the cucumber salad. It was so delicious. I can't even put it into words. I also had the Thai iced tea. Fairly new to the area so I was searching for some good pho places and unfortunately not too many around here. But! There's a few and this place seemed like a nice place to check out! Upon the time we visited (May 4th, 2024) it seemed like they recently opened and wanted to give it a try! PLUS Wagyu meat is one of my favorite meats in pho nowadays! Plus it was a cloudy Star Wars day so perfect time to get some pho! Onto the dishes that we ordered! FOOD Wagyu Ribeye Pho Presentation and proper amount of everything. I think the proportion of the ingredients were fair and had a distinctive taste that's almost close to having their own signature broth but it's not quite there. It's enjoyable but I think something can be adjusted to make me want to come back again. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious and left our stomachs full but there's room for improvements! 4 out of 5 stars! Wagyu Brisket It's about the same as the Ribeye Pho just with Wagyu Brisket. Pretty good Vietnamese place found unexpectedly. It's tucked in a plaza, there's some seating inside with really cute clean decor. Ordered their pho and the egg roll, and later on ordered their taco, which is very flavorful and I think one of their dishes that you must try. It's a good portion too to share. Pho came in hot broth and with really good tender meat. It's a cafeteria style service, which you order and pay first before you sit. I generally stay away from these "premium" pho spots and just like to frequent the small mom and pop shops with your typical cheaper but flavorful bowl of pho but all the great reviews and yummy looking pictures reeled me right in. This place has been on my radar ever since they opened this location up. Upon arrival, one party was leaving so my mom and I were the only ones in there. The guy working was trying hard to be really friendly and I appreciate that but it was to the point where it got a little annoying. Assuming we were Chinese, the guy greeted us with "Ni hao" which was a little off-putting. Anyways, here's what we ordered: **Ribeye Pho: For $18.50, definitely not worth it. It's expensive because they use premium grass-fed cuts of meat. The portion of noodles and meat were very tiny. The soup broth was very light on flavor and on the thicker side. (2/5) **Egg Rolls: Personally, not a fan. Pieces were cut really small and were very greasy. They were deep fried for way too long to the point where the outside layer was so hard. The outside part was really thick and didn't have much filling. (1/5) It's definitely not the worst bowl of pho I've ever had but it's quite under par from what I'm used to. I understand the high price tag for their premium grass-fed meats but the portions are downright horrendous. $50 for two bowls of pho and a side of egg rolls is ridiculous. I'm glad I brought cash because they charge an additional 3% if paying with card. They have a tip option available when you order at the counter even though it's basically self-serve. You order up front, grab your napkins, utensils, and cup of water. You then find a table and they deliver the food to you. I do not recommend this place. Friendly service but they try really hard and will try so hard to talk to you even when you're trying to enjoy your food in peace. Best pho I've ever had! Parking is easy. The restaurant is small, but well sat and maintained. The service there is amazing. All questions are answered and the owner is so friendly. We ordered two pho bowls, egg rolls, and the popcorn chicken. It is safe to say that there was not a drop left. We tried the ribeye, brisket and eye round. Each piece of meat melted in your mouth. The broth is the best broth I've ever had. The flavor was so rich in the best way. The egg rolls had a wonderful crunch and flavor that came with a sweet dipping sauce. It's been a while since a bowl of pho was hot enough (and stays hot enough the whole time I'm eating) to get me to sweat around my hairline. Most bowls start out hot, but drop in temp as soon as you throw in the bean sprouts and other aromatics, but not at LePho! The noodles are also wonderfully al dente to start, and continues to soften a bit as you make your way to the bottom of the bowl. We had their Ribeye Pho ($18.50), Wagyu Brisket Pho ($17.50), Pork Patty Rolls ($7.50), and a Bean Sprout Mix ($6.50). The ribeye pho was tender and clean, while the wagyu brisket was balanced between the lean cuts and portions of fatty trim. The pork patty roll (spring roll) comes with two pieces, cucumber, fried egg roll flute and no rice noodle as filler! The bean sprout mix is a refreshing side salad (but I did wish it was served more chilled) tossed in a sesame oil vinaigrette. Excited to come back and try more of their menu! I don't know if the owners read these, but consider putting together a menu with photos; I think it would help reach a wider customer base. This might be a hot take but didn't love this spot. On a Friday evening during dinner prime time, we arrived and there was only one party inside. We ordered at the cash register and got the ribeye pho, the wagyu brisket pho, and the pho tacos (2 per order). Food was served quickly, and you grab utensils/water at the front. My wagyu brisket pho was good, but for someone who has a pretty small appetite, I finished the whole thing and left not feeling full, which is kinda a bummer since my bowl of pho costed $17.50. I can't imagine how much someone with a large appetite would need to order to feel full. The quality of beef (grass fed) and broth was good, but I felt really thirsty shortly after. Overall, food is good but nothing memorable. First time here and excited that a pho spot opened up where we can walk to. The place is a bit small but cute; I really like how they decorated the place. I would say this place is good for groups of 4 max. For appetizers we tried the beef tendon. I love beef tendon and this was presented really well and surpassed my expectations. I can't wait to try the other appetizers. I was hoping for a variety of pho options like dac biet or combo meat ones, but I guess this is not that type of pho place. I ended up getting the ribeye pho, the broth wasn't too salty and could have been perfect if it wasn't too oily. The oil really made the taste of the broth on the bland side. I would recommend stirring it up prior to taking a sip of the broth so you get a good distribution. If they fix this it would be a really great pho. Some maybe surprised with the price and it definitely is more expensive than most pho places out there. I am hoping it's because the quality ingredients that is used. The presentation is nice though. Overly rated. Their Pho is salty, nothing special and lacking that authentic flavor. They promote their pho made with bone broth flavor. Any Asian person knows that Pho is made from beef bones to add that authentic Vietnamese broth. The portions are smaller side considering the price for Pho. This is the first Pho place that I've ever encountered, having to order your food at the counter and ask for a tip. I figured that people have to make a living and tipped 20%. The selections of meat are limited and no house specials. Normally, Pho soups has a house special, not this place. You only have a choice of 1 meat. The Vietnamese coffee isn't what I am accustomed to ordering. The coffee isn't the hickory flavor that it's supposed to have. They added sugar with little condensed milk. The coffee flavor was off. It was more on the sugar side than condensed milk. Vietnamese coffee should only have condensed milk and this restaurant is sub with sugar to lower cost. If a Pho shop can't a simple authentic Vietnamese coffee, this says a lot about the food.
