    Filet mignon pho
    Brigette G.

One of the best Pho restaurants I've had. Service is fast and friendly but busy! We got there right when they opened and people were already waiting. It's a hole in wall but let me tell you it's delicious! Egg rolls were crispy and cooked to perfection and the shrimp fried rice was one of the best I've ever had! My daughter and I had the filet mignon pho and my other daughter had the chicken pho. Excellent broth and flavor! I usually never finish it, but I did that day! Very authentic and delicious, I can't wait to go back and try a different dish!

Chicken pho tends to be high in sodium due to its broth, which usually contains added salt and seasonings for enhanced flavor. However, Pho 2012 Bistro on East La Palma strikes an ideal balance, utilizing a broth recipe that expertly tempers salt and condiments, resulting in a harmonious flavor profile that makes their pho a healthier option. Service is fast and accurate, and the restaurant is always clean with plenty seating.

This place has become one of my favorite spots for pho and the lemon grass chicken. First let me start with the lemon grass chicken it is flavorful and the portions are generous. The chicken is soft and cooked to perfection. It is a flavor explosion after the first bite! The pho broth is also very tasty and the meats are clean and cooked to order. I have tried many places and this just became my number one spot. On service, be ready to wait a bit if it's busy. The people are really nice but they could use a hand in the front. If you have time and willing to wait on a busy night or lunch time then try it. You won't regret the $12.95 plate!

    Pho dac biet - small

I entered the restaurant and there's no customer, so they greeted me right away and they told me that I can sit anywhere! I chose the booth seating as I'm alone and it's just me. I got the pho dac biet with everything in it. Size small for $12.95 and it was great and worth it! I think the size portion for me is perfect because I finished it and I didn't feel like I had to force myself to finish it because it was too much. They have a small and large size and the small is perfect for my hunger. Anyway, I also ordered the cha gio - fried egg rolls. It came with 4 egg rolls and 2 lettuce wraps. I would love to have two more lettuce wraps but that's ok. I didn't ask for more. I only ate two anyway. The other two, I took it for to go. As time went on, people came in to eat and order to go as well. The sign outside says they close at 9pm and not 8pm! They thanked me when I was leaving. I'd go back again if I was in the area!

My barber recommended this place and he was raving about their crispy noodle. Since it's the wife's favorite we decided to give it a try. She got the vegetarian (tofu) crispy noodle and she said it ranks top of her list. Normally she leaves half for leftovers but not today. I always get combination pho wherever I go and the broth was one of the tastiest I have had. They gave a huge portion as well and like my wife I did not leave anything for leftovers. We also always start with the crispy egg rolls and TBH I don't think anyone can mess that up. So it's comparable to other good egg rolls I've had. What made it was the fish sauce, I don't know the ratio of lime, sugar and water they're using but it was perfect. Will be going here from now on as our go to Vietnamese spot.

I come here often and I love the food. The chicken pho is excellent. Fresh chicken breast slices. They do not skimp. Egg rolls are amazing as well. You won't be disappointed.

Filet mignon pho: 2.5/5 - very faint flavor. I think it's hard to mess up pho so I'm not sure why this had very little flavor. Edible though Pho ba (Chicken): 2/5 - also a very faint flavor. Tasted like an extremely light chicken soup. Vietnamese iced coffee w/ condensed milk: 3/5 - had a strong very dry taste in the mouth. I only drank a quarter of the drink. Service: 2/5 - nice waitress but she never checked on us once she delivered our food. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We had to walk up to her to ask for more napkins, water, to go boxes, and to pay. Overall, I'd give this place a 2 because the food wasn't really good and I don't think I'd come back. Doesn't taste bad but doesn't taste averagely good either.

The server is nice and music is great. The place is quiet and cozy vibe. We ordered the # 22 which is a rare beef, well done beef brisket meatballs with tripe and tendon noodle soup, and # 24 beef noodle soup which is the meatballs noodle soup. And yummy spring rolls.

Friendly service as soon I walked inside the door. The server sat ius to your table immediately. Very clean inside . First time coming to this restaurant with my wife.. just in the area getting your income tax' done and my wife saw the restaurant and we both got hungry. Food portions are great . It only took 5mins to get your food after placing the order.

And I am SO glad we did because everything about our experience was seriously a 10/10! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was amazing. The gentleman at the front greeted us and escorted us to our table, and right away we felt welcomed and comfortable. Our server, Quang, was absolutely the sweetest! He was so friendly, outgoing, attentive, and helpful, especially when it came to giving us recommendations since it was our first time there. He had such a positive energy and really made our experience even better. And the FOOD!!! If I could give it 1,000/10, I seriously would. We tried the Ube Cloud, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Garlic Parmesan Fries, Spicy Shrimp Wontons, Corn Ribs, Garlic Butter Prawns, and Filet Garlic Noodles, and honestly, there wasn't ONE thing we didn't enjoy. Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. But what really stood out to us was that it wasn't just the food -- it was the entire experience. The staff, the atmosphere, the music, and just the overall vibe made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. The music they were playing was amazing too! My friend and I were enjoying ourselves, eating good food, listening to good music, and just having such a great time. The whole place honestly had such a warm, homey feeling to it. When we were leaving, the gentleman who had greeted and seated us earlier ended up having a whole conversation with my friend and me. He was so sweet and personable! He mentioned that they may be opening a location in Culver City, and I told him I really hope they do because that would be much closer to home for me. I was even joking with him that if they open one, they need to bring the whole staff from this location over there too because everyone here was THAT amazing. At the same time, even if there ends up being a location closer to me, I would honestly still make the drive back to this one. When you visit somewhere for the first time and have such a great experience, that location becomes special. You can visit the same restaurant somewhere else, but the people, atmosphere, and experience aren't necessarily going to feel the same. This location definitely left that kind of impression on us. I really hope this review reaches management because the staff here deserves the recognition. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, and Quang especially took such great care of us. This was our first time at VOX Kitchen, but it DEFINITELY won't be our last. We're already talking about coming back and bringing our family and more of our friends so we can all enjoy it together. 10/10 food. 10/10 service. 10/10 atmosphere. 10/10 experience. You guys definitely gained some returning customers!

Corn ribs: just finger licking delicious Chifa fried rice with filet mignon: fried rice was solid but didn't have the most wok hey flavor that I usually like. It was a bit too moist for fried rice. Filet mignon was a bit tough, but flavor was good! Garlic noodles with crispy salmon: yummy salmon and yummy garlic noodles (could be more garlicky). I wonder if these two could have been more cohesive together somehow, but both individual parts were good! My friend told me this restaurant's owner had a few other fusion restaurants in the plaza, so I'll have to try those as well!

The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl. Service was friendly and prompt despite how busy it was, and it's clear the staff works hard to keep things moving. One thing I love is seeing all of the awards and accolades displayed on the walls. Phở 79 received the prestigious James Beard America's Classics Award, and it's easy to understand why after one meal here. This restaurant is truly an Orange County icon. The restaurant will soon be moving to a new location, as signs throughout the restaurant announce the upcoming move. Orders are placed at the counter and they call your number once your food is ready. The dining room consists of mostly booth seating with one "communal" table, and counter seating with 5ish chairs. There are also a handful of tables set outside. I've really been enjoying banh mi and their Bulgogi beef sandwich sounded great. I also happen to have a thing for popcorn chicken, so I got an order of that to round out my lunch. Oh, and based on the rave reviews I've read about their peach & lychee green tea, I ordered one of those as well. Let me just say, lunch was very satisfying! The sandwich was generously filled the fresh ingredients and the meat to veggie ratio was perfect. I'm not sure what the green sauce was that they finished the sammie off with but it was SO tasty!! I requested the popcorn chicken with medium heat and it was just spicy enough to leave my tongue tingling slightly. My friend saved an egg roll for me and it was also really good. (The tea by the way was very refreshing.) Now, this was my first time here but I never saw anyone come out to check the dining room or wipe down the tables after the lunch rush. This was especially concerning to me because they had a guy doing work on the windows who put his feet/ shoes on the tables right under said windows. Ewww. But aside from the parking challenge and the table hygiene/cleanliness, our visit was quite enjoyable and the food was very good. I was initially won over by the 2,000+ reviews, so I decided to give this place a try. The service was okay, but the overall atmosphere was very much a hole-in-the-wall type of place -- not particularly clean, inviting, or aesthetic. I ordered the pho ga (chicken), and the chicken came separately on a plate in large pieces. I had to use my utensils to pull it apart, as I assumed it would already be cut up, in my bowl and ready to eat. My fiancé ordered a beef rice plate, which he said was pretty underwhelming and lacked flavor. Unfortunately, the biggest issue came after we left. Almost immediately, I started feeling extremely sick. My body tends to react to food pretty quickly, so I knew something was wrong. I had my fiancé rush me back to my apartment, where I ended up getting violently sick and spending the next few hours throwing up and repenting on the toilet. I stopped going to hole-in-the-wall places years ago, but because of all the great reviews, I decided to give this one a chance. Needless to say, I learned my lesson and won't be coming back.
