Came to Pho Vina with my girls after our usual pho spot closed down. We've been here a handful of times since it's the closest option to us in Anaheim Hills, right off Imperial Hwy and La Palma. The restaurant has a pretty standard Vietnamese setup, nothing fancy in terms of decor. It's more of a casual, no-frills place where you come just to sit and eat. The tables along the wall felt a bit too close together for my comfort. Since there weren't any other tables available, we were seated next to a party with a crying baby, and unfortunately the parents didn't seem too concerned. As for the food, my daughter ordered the meatball pho and I had the small beef bone pho. Both were tasty, though the broth was just okay, not memorable. I did take the beef bone home for my dog, which was a nice bonus. Overall, it's an average pho spot, convenient if you don't want to travel more than five minutes, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. read more

I love Pho Vina. Best Asian/Vietnamese restaurant in the Anaheim/Yorba Linda area. Their best dish is the Shaken Beef (Bò Lúc Lắc) with Butter Rice. Very tasty dish! The salad dressing is the best on the salad and drizzle a little on the rice. It's a vinegar, sugar and lime type of dressing. The meat is tender and has great flavor. Butter rice is soft and slightly sweet. Service is great, reminder you normally call for them when it comes to the check, order more or water refill. Not the typical American restaurant where they check on you! Size of restaurant is great, plenty of seats inside and outside. My go to pho place after pho 2012 closed down across the street. It's such a wonderful authentic Vietnamese restaurant. We love the pho noodle soup there. The only recommendation I would like to make is that they're closed on Sunday, which is a prime weekend day. I wish that they opened on Sundays as well because usually from a long weekend of going out of Friday and Saturday Sundays is typically everyone's recovery day and they would love to have some pho for food. I got the Garlic Noodles w/ Diced Garlic Steak to switch it up a bit. The noodles were pretty flavorful, more sweet than garlic-y. That's probably where all the flavor went from the meat. The meat was chewy and didn't really have much to it. The portion size was reasonable for takeout. I would probably stick to trying the pho here if I return. read more

A friend from Vietnam recommended this place to me ages ago and I finally got around to trying it out. I am so glad that I finally visited! We went in at 1:30 on a weekday. I was expecting it to be empty, but this place was bustling! There were only three tables open! No one likes to eat at an empty restaurant so we were pretty excited to see how busy it was outside of the lunch rush. We were starving and ordered a 5 piece egg roll and their appetizer trio which included three fried shrimps, three egg rolls, and two spring rolls. It's been a long time since I've had traditional Vietnamese egg rolls and these were absolutely fantastic! Maybe it's just that it's been so long since I've had egg rolls, but I can't overstate how good these tasted. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls was just a touch too sweet for my preference, but was still good. The fried shrimp were crispy with just the right amount of crunch. Since we ordered so many appetizers, I decided to order a small bowl of pho. I have noticed that a lot of pho restaurants don't offer the small and regular sizes anymore so I was glad I had the option for a smaller bowl. I chose 25 which is rare beef and well done brisket. I don't eat noodles and they were able to accommodate my request to sub veggies. Some places I've dined charge extra for this request, but they did not and I really appreciate that! It may seem like a small thing, but it definitely makes me want to return. The broth was delicious and the veggies were cooked perfectly to my liking. Not too hard, not to soft. Just right. It was a good assortment of veggies; broccoli, cabbage, carrots, baby corn. They were generous with the amount of beef, too. We all took home leftovers, even the two who ordered small bowls. We will be sure to return for another visit soon. I wish we hadn't waited so long to visit in the first place! By the way, it was well after 2:00 when we left and people were STILL coming in! We tried Pho Vina for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. We were craving it again and placed a takeout order tonight which was ready within about 15 minutes. Upon arrival, the restaurant was about halfway full with many takeout orders waiting to be picked up as well. We haven't dined in yet, but the restaurant is warm and inviting. We ordered two small phở gà (chicken). Very generous portions that come with jalapeños, bean sprouts, basil, onions, green onions, and lime. I asked for some extra spice and the team member kindly gave me lots of house made chili oil that is sooo flavorful. I definitely recommend checking out Pho Vina. The pho is absolutely amazing. They really give you a good amount of meat. The meatball is even homemade. There are other pho places where they purchase store bought meatballs but here it was definitely homemade. I never ate inside and today I was feeling under the weather so I sent my partner. My bff and I needed a halfway meeting spot, and Little Saigon wasn't practical this time. The reviews here looked promising for this area. Spacious dining room and the tiered metal shelving showed how brisk their takeout is. Their laminated menu has copious pictures so diners could match the meat with the Viet entree descriptions. We ordered 27 and 28 plus some shrimp and pork goi cuon. Presentation is nice and the food comes out quickly. The broth wasn't runny and had good flavor. The place is tucked away in a large strip mall with plenty of parking and a sheltered plant divider with 3 more outside tables. I will still go to Little Saigon but this is a good plan B if my north county peeps aren't able to meet. read more

During Second Saturday art walk yesterday, we stopped by for dinner, and were seated where the wall opens up to the sidewalk. Good thing too because inside it was hot and stuffy, but outside a mild breeze helped us cool off. Staff was quick and attentive. The water with a slice of lime tasted refreshing! I wish they refilled our water once or twice, but they were increasingly busy with customers so I understand. Throughout our dining experience it was fun to watch passersby, many of whom were already dressed up for Halloween because vendors and stores were offering candy for trick or treaters. Many scary photorealistic masks, lots of clowns with full face makeup, various Marvel and Disney and beloved book characters, some assorted wildlife (butterflies, dinosaurs etc). Downtown Pomona easily hosted a thousand pedestrians last night! We ordered the shrimp chow mein and charbroiled chicken on rice. They arrived in 20 minutes! Both very flavorful, the noodles topped with lots of stir fried vegetables and the well-seasoned chicken served with a savory dipping sauce. The chicken seasoning was a bit sweeter than I like, but the savory dipping sauce mellowed it out. Flavorful enough I didn't add sriracha or hoisin sauce to this meal. I tried the lemon grass chicken entree Wow another big must try anyone looking for tasty fresh and delicious food. The butter rice is amazing. The lemongrass chicken white meat sautéed to perfection. Vietnamese iced coffee another must try for anyone that loves Vietnamese iced coffee. We met the owner PETER today very nice and explained the menu to us on different options and how they prepare many of the entrees. The owner is very welcoming and the whole staff. I'm assuming he's the owner/manager. He seemed to kind of go through the motions of politeness, but man, did he have a bad energy. He just seemed pissed about something, like borderline scowl on his face.
