I've visited this little gem twice while staying in Glen Ellen. I'm happy to report that I wasn't disappointed both times! I wish this bakery was in Marin so I could get pastries and bread from here more often. Don't get intimidated by the long line. It actually moved pretty fast both days that I was there.(Sunday and Tuesday) I highly recommend you getting there as early as you can, but stopping by on the weekends has its perks as they have more desserts to offer! My favorites: Chocolate eclair, Pistachio macaron, Apricot Brioche, Apple Brioche, Chocolate Croissant, and their new creation, Pain Au Noix with Blue Cheese. I wish I could say the same about the coffee. It was okay. It was super hot that even after awhile, it was still hot. I burned my tongue trying to have a sip. Had to knock off a star because of the coffee, the macarons, and this rum dessert that soaked in too much rum. I went back on the 2nd day to get some macarons and of all 3 that I ordered. The chocolate and coffee ones were a little chewy and quite hard to chew while the pistachio macaron was super light, delicious and much fresher than the rest. There's a parking lot behind the bakery and out front if you get there early enough. If you get there before 9 on weekdays, you could easily park out front and grab the pastries then out the door within a few mins. All in all, I'd def come back and hope to be able to give them 5 stars next time. read more

I truly don't understand the hype. I think this place gets excellent reviews because of the mere fact that it's a bakery in Glen Ellen, and people are grateful that it's not another wine tasting room for the area. That being said, the food is mediocre at best. I'm not even sure they bake or make anything in-house. The seating area is nice. I just think this location has so much potential, and a passionate person could really make something special out of it. The food *could be* inspired and delicious. read more

Madame Pascale is energetic, warm, friendly and an overall delight. A reviewer here commented that Les Pascales is worth a special trip from "any part of town [Glen Ellen]". Had a veggie sandwich. It's hard to mess up a veggie sandwich but they sure did. It had slimy guacamole.on the bread instead of just sliced avocado. Had two tiny slivers of onion...maybe they ran out of onion or are they just that skimpy. The lettuce was wilted and flat soaked in the slimy guacamole. We went on a Saturday at noon and waited for around 15 minutes. It's a quaint bakery/patisserie that's run by a French lady. It seems to be a popular spot among tourists visiting Sonoma. We got the almond croissant and a flakey pastry with raspberry filling (not sure what it's called). I was pleasantly surprised by the sweetness level. I usually find pastries to be too sweet for my liking but this was a great sweetness level. The raspberry filling was still tart just like what you'd expect a raspberry to taste like. The almond croissant wasn't covered in powdered sugar. I could still taste the nutrients of the almonds. The croissant was good but it wasn't that crispy on the outside. If you're visiting you should stop by to pick up a snack! There's more variety in the morning. read more

We stayed at the Jack London Lodge the nights of 10/1/2023-10/2/2023...walking distance to Les Pascals. If I ever find myself needing or wanting lodging in Glen Ellen again, there is no doubt I would stay at the Lodge again....for the simple reason of it being walking distance to this wonderful little place. Every morning, we walked over to start our day right! As many other reviews already have stated, the quiche's are perfect!. The almond croissants are wonderful, with much more of the "filling" in them than any other almond croissants I have had from anywhere else. Les Pascals is a super cute French bakery that everyone should visit if in the area. My husband and I stopped by early last month and it felt like we were transported to France. Their drinks and pastries were all so tasty and the customer service was fantastic. They were speaking French too. The French baguettes remind me of the better bakeries I've experienced in France. Delicate crispy exterior, with a gratifying chewy crust underneath and fluffy white crumb. Dangerously good. My only nitpick is that the crust could be a tad thicker but it's really minor. Overall, a great baguette. They have sourdough as well, though I didn't try. A bunch of pastries and the usual frothy coffee drinks. I had the chai, which was average. They seem pretty disciplined about their COVID safety. For example, there's signage all over about asking before taking a table. Confusing at first, because there's no table service. But they make everyone ask so they can sanitize the table before you sit down. Bathrooms: Available! There's one behind the service counter area. Outdoor seating available and more in the back! A sweet little bakery run by two french folk named Pascal. She is always adorable and has the best French accent. I have not really loved the pastries as much as others in the North Bay. I found the croissant sort of literally flat. However, I love those little torpedo sandwiches. I've only had hers once - she doesn't always seem to have them or she runs out or something - but when she has them, they are the perfect lunch - not so big as to induce post-food torpor, but enough to get you to the evening. read more

Where do I even begin? You can take the French out of France but not the France out of the French...and so, after 28 years in this country, I am still a slave to my genetics and the distinct excitement only a native can get from finding an actual French patisserie halfway around the world. I noted they had Galette des Rois and I called to reserve one - the voice on the other end of the line was unmistakably French and the lady didn't disappoint. We were instant friends as you always are with "your" people when you meet them in a foreign land. The couple who owns the shop are both French and are actual patissier. There is an actual degree for that in France - and everything is just, well, very French. A bite instantly transports you on a trip to France - for me a trip back to my childhood. It is authentic. Definitely recommend this bakery. The owners are from Lyon, France and it shows. Their pastries are to die for. We had the almond croissant, spinach and bacon quiche as well as some other sweetness. The almond croissant was so mouth-watering, moist and full of deliciousness. I can eat a dozen of them. The quiche will melt in your mouth and was so delectable. Amazing AUTHENTIC French bakery! Wow, wow! I had an incredible ham and cheese croissant with béchamel sauce that was absolutely delectable! My husband has a gorgeous flaky raisin confection and we shared an almond croissant and another apple pastry (yes we totally went wild)! Lol. Everything was a 9/10 on a 10-scale! Pastry perfection! They have French and Italian coffee and their space is light, bright and clean! So comfortable and the perfect place to hang out and enjoy French baked goods with your hot coffee! We loved it - went on the recommendation of some friends and are so glad we did! This is a MUST GO to when in Glen Ellen (but not on Wednesday... They're closed on Wednesdays... My ham and cheese sandwich reminded me immediately of the question that I pose to myself each time I set foot in Paris: "Why is everything so good here?" (I tend not to focus too hard on the answer, which is "butter.") Les Pascals is very accommodating. We felt great hanging out in the small garden behind the main store. We found Les Pascals while searching for coffee in the Glen Ellen area. We were pleasantly welcomed with an array of fresh French pastry selections. Everything looked delicious and even though we were just stopping for coffee on our way to meet friends we couldn't help ourselves from ordering a ham and cheese croissant and baguette. This croissant was the best croissant of my life. It was perfectly buttery, flaky, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and the slight sweetness paired perfectly with the saltiness of the cheese and ham. Quaint cafe in small town Glen Ellen that is somehow packed at all times (at least in the two times I've visited). Once you try the food and are greeted by the staff, you'll be able to see why. The spread of baked goods, both savory and sweet, is impressive. Want a tart? They've got 'em. Quiche? Yep, got that, too. Pot pie? You bet! What else? About everything in between that comes in some kind of baked, carby vessel. The line usually makes it to, or even out, the door, but it moves quick, and the friendly service makes that go by even faster. The woman that helped us, who I assume was the owner, was friendly and seemed legitimately glad to be at work. I was impressed just through that brief transaction. As for the food? My girlfriend got the quiche, which I ate off of while it was on the colder side. She slept in on the day we ordered food and I visited a bit after. Despite it not being hot, the melding of flavors and the crust, in particular, were still great. It was quite a large portion, too. I'm only jealous I didn't try it fresh!
