What a quaint French bakery in Glen Ellen! I was excited to finally try this place after driving by it for years. The building cannot be missed with the yellow exterior. It already exudes happiness. Then you walk in and can find specialty pastries, cookies and breads. Yes please!  We enjoyed a fruit tart with apples, almond croissant and a strawberry shortcake dessert. All were so delicious!  They have plenty of seating inside as well as a cute patio with outdoor seating too.

All the goodness! It is so worth the effort! Feels like you are in the French countryside with mouth watering deliciousness'

Authentic French patisserie in a cute café setting. We had breakfast goods (pain au chocolat and a fruit friande). She also has mini fondants, brioches, and other pastries. For lunch, there are quiches, sandwiches, and baguettes. The proprietor is a busy bee, taking orders, making espresso drinks, and ringing it all up in a whirlwind mix of English and French. Bon appetite! PS Need a fast hostess gift for someone? She has a small but well-curated assortment of olive oil, honey, jams, hand creams, aprons, etc.

What a charming cafe! We went to Les Pascals on a Saturday for a late lunch on an overcast day, and found it to be cozy and busy! We got the quiche Lorraine (delicious!) and the croque madame (to die for! The texture and flavor are amazing). My cappuccino was wonderful as well. The food was wonderful and we found the cafe to be perfect for a quick bite for lunch.

How is it that I've been frequenting this cafe for so many years without submitting a review?! We typically come here after a hike or bike ride- today was a hike nearby. Of course we were famished. It is difficult to choose what to order with all the delectable menu items. My friend had their onion soup & some mushroom bread thing she loved. She also enjoyed the fancy lemon tart. I had the veggie quiche- always so creamy & delicious. I ordered a chai latte for the first time- very good. And I brought home a chocolate meringue for later. It is such a cheerful place to be- the decor is charming and the owners are so sweet. Please keep speaking in French!

May 2024 Review - Started on a street in Sonoma and entered this beautiful Parisian patteserie The raspberry chocolat brioche, kouign amman, chocolat croissant, ham & cheese croissant, tartine Enjoyed a similar selection on day2 as well :) When in Glen Allen or wine country - this patisserie is a must visit

This French patissiere is absolutely delicious! Loved: The cheese and spinach quiche - freshly baked and understated with a cushy egg Mushroom bread - fresh mushrooms and bread Almond croissant - crispy and not too sweet! Hazelnut coffee - with chunks of hazelnut There is always a line because orders are taken and filled by one person before moving on the next person. This is a true French run bakery and the owners speak French. Would come back again to support local business :)

The chocolate croissant was flaky and decadent, and the mushroom spinach Pizzas a La Française.

Breakfast date. Pascals' charming French pâtisserie, in the heart of Glen Ellen, offers a nice selection of pastries and savory delights. We were enchanted by the cozy atmosphere and quaint patio --perfect for a leisurely breakfast or afternoon pick-me-up. The espresso was rich and bold, the chocolate croissant was flaky and decadent, and the mushroom spinach Pizzas a La Française - was a delightful twist on a classic French dish that was both savory and satisfying. Pascals is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a taste of Parisian charm. Service: Not exactly welcoming--but we did get fast service.

Les Pascals is 1 of a handful (like 3 Maybe) of coffee establishment in Glen Ellen. But she does not disappoint at all. Owned by a Parisian couple (Pascale and Pascal) who moved to the town in 2018, this patisserie offers authentic, fresh pastries, sandwiches, and desserts as well as coffee and European style morning drinks. We were in the town for 3 days and went here every morning! They have an adorable indoor and outdoor sitting space, with many tables and a large parking lot. Pascal (the missus) was there on our first visit and was incredibly friendly, providing recommendations of the best things to try (everything ) and gave suggestions for activities for the duration of our stay. The cafe is dog friendly and we encountered many locals and visitors each of the mornings we dropped in.

Cute cafe with delicious food. Staff speaks French and English but there's definitely the vibe of a French cafe.

What a charming French restaurant in the heart of Glen Ellen! The woman working the front is the sweetest French woman, you can tell the passion she has for this business. A must stop through in wine country.

Cute, authentic, and perfect French cafe! When you enter in you are greeted by I think the owner who greets you in French and works so quickly! Post wine tasting in Glen Ellen or if you want to grab something right before, this is the spot located on the road with parking behind the lot or on the street. Came here on a Saturday for lunch and it was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted to be able to order, pay, and enjoy my latte and a pastry! I asked what the most popular items were and the worker said the spinach and cheese quiche along with the almond croissant! My friend got the madam croco (cheese, egg on toast) and a baguette as well and we shared everything. Let me tell you how good everything was. From the flakiness of the pastries to how the almond croissant wasn't too sweet. I would highly recommend anything here and can't wait to go back! They have both indoor and outdoor seating and such a good quality cafe. My latte did not disappoint!

Amazing French cafe! I love that they open early. The Chef and his wife (The Pascals) have really created a slice of paradise in Glen Ellen.

Do you have any cruelty free milk?

Is anything dairy-free or vegan? Thanks!

I didn't find anything, though I'm gluten free as well, so there might have been a bread or sandwich that was dairy-free. My husband indulged in delicious pastries, and I had apple juice. :-)

    How much are the pastries?

Is this place open during Shelter in place?

Yep! See website link from the Yelp page. I was just there and they even have outdoor seating and the bathroom is available to use.

Like you, my wife and I woke up and needed to find some coffee. We had a great dinner the night…read morebefore and we were really looking forward to our day and we wanted to get started properly. Sam's was the answer that we were looking for. We enjoyed both their drip coffee and their espresso as well as one of their cinnamon buns. While we sat there in this pristine environment it was obvious to us that this location had emerged as a favorite in the community as we saw kids on their way to school and multigenerational families enjoying their morning there. So next time we're in town know that we'll be enjoying Sam's General Store.

3.5 STARS *Walks in*…read more *Stop and stare* To some it may be a red flag to have people stop and stare at you but to me, it's kinda a green flag. When you stick out like a sore thumb, sometimes it's a sign that you've stepped into a local's place, not a tourist trap. Sam's General Store is named after the man who started the Gold Rush. They're an artisanal cafe serving specialty coffee and matcha drinks, pastries (from Starter Bakery), breakfast bites, salads, and sandwiches. Their OG location is in Calistoga and their St. Helena location opened in 2025. Online ordering available. D R I N K S * Iced Latte ($6) w/ oat milk (+85 cents) - Add vanilla cold foam + whipped cream (+$1) - Request half-caffeine I couldn't find a small business in Napa Valley that offers a Einspänner but Sam's offers the components so you can make one. The latte was smooth and roasty with the cold foam adding a creamy sweetness and the whipped cream an extra later of richness. Pretty solid. * Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte w/ strawberry foam, extra shot of matcha ($9.25) - Batched made, not hand-whisked - Cannot adjust sweetness It looks nothing like the layered drink on their website and IG. Also, the color was dull, so either the matcha was oxidized or it's poor quality. Sadly, it tasted like a Crumbl cookie in liquid form. Even with the extra shot of matcha, there was no matcha flavor and tasted like an incredibly sweet strawberry milk. I hate wasting money but we tossed it. * NY Lox & Bagel w/ gravlax salmon, cream cheese, pickled red onions, cucumbers & capers ($17) - Served open-faced, no mods available - Bagels are flown in weekly from NY but shop/brand is not specified Deliciously chewy, lightly toasted plain bagel layered with rich, creamy schmear and silky, buttery lox. The fresh tang and crunch from the pickled red onions and pickled cucumbers balanced everything perfectly, adding brightness to each bite. S E R V I C E Transactional - I ordered online and they were just finishing up my order when I arrived. A M B I A N C E Modern, cozy boutique vibe with ample seating. Even on a weekday, all the indoor seating was taken; looks to be a regular gathering place for locals. Front patio and sidewalk seating. Free WiFi. Overall, cute cafe...if you're visiting from a city with great matcha - stick with their coffee!
