The pastries, coffee and other baked goods are so memorable. I don't know how someone could just get one thing! The staff had electric personalities and very quick, which got people moving. There was about five people ahead of me but I was served in less than five minutes it felt like. I got an oatmeal latte with plenty of pastries. This is a must go to bakery! I'm always down for some really good French food, so when hubby suggested we take a day out to the city of Glen Ellen to try a French bakery, I was totally down. On our first trip here, we arrived just before lunch and there was already a line out the door. Good sign! Our first visit, we both started with hot drinks, he got a small coffee ($2) and I got a small oat milk mocha ($3.65). I ordered the veggie sando ($4.80), a cup of the French onion soup ($8.50), and an eclair ($4.50). Hubby ordered the turkey sando ($4.80), an almond croissant ($3.70), a raspberry snail ($3.35) and a meringue ($2.20). Although it sounds like a lot of food, the portions are small so it al fit on a bistro table outside. Drinks were good and strong, but not overly impressive. My soup was dire, probably one of the worst I've had, and literally tasted like marginally oniony water, it was horrible. Thankfully I didn't let that stop me from tasting everything else because my eclair was incredible, and my sando was fresh and light. Hubby loved his turkey sando and said it was also very light, airy and perfect. His favorite thing this trip was the almond croissant, however he also raved about the raspberry snail and we both devoured the meringue. On our second trip here, he started with a coffee, and I tried their Chai ($4.15 and this time they charged me for oat milk +0.75). We ordered another eclair and almond croissant because the last ones were so good, along with a lemon tart ($5.30), croque madame ($7.10), and small olive loaf ($5). We took our items outside again to their bistro deck and enjoyed the sun. The second trip, our eclair and croissant were as good as we remembered, but the real stand out on this trip was the olive loaf. WOW, multiple types of olives and super fresh rosemary, it was perfection. The croque was ok, but honestly not super memorable, and the tart was solid, tart, and bright. Overall, Les Pascals has some really amazing items, as long as you know which ones to order and ones to pass on, namely get the eclairs and the olive bread and hard pass on the onion soup. Service is super-fast and efficient with so many people in line, but the folks behind the counter stay chipper and friendly, so it goes by fast. We will definitely be back, and I'll be dreaming in the meantime of that rosemary olive bread. read more

Great ham and cheese croissant and apricot brioche. They even offered to warm up the croissant. Gooey deliciousness. Everything else we had (chai latte and coconut macaron-like) was super sweet--personally too sweet. I wish I had ordered regular hot tea. The service was nice and cordial. Lots of regulars and folks driving through. There is a really cute outside courtyard, but warning it's the flimsy kind of outdoor furniture that always makes me a little nervous. We were looking for a place for a good coffee and so glad that we drive here from Santa Rosa, much cheaper than a trip to Paris. Went on a Sunday and there was a line out the door. Once inside the service was incredible and there were so many delectable choices. We had the French onion soup, almond croissant and capuchinos. Great soup, the croissant was buttery and flaky and the coffee was really good and very hot. Large area inside with tables plus a garden area with seating. I recently ordered 8 slices of Les Pascals Quiche Lorraine for a New Years day brunch for my friends. I ordered those quiche slices and a few pastries only the day before. I had googled best quiche in Sonoma the day before and they came in second; I thought I would give them a try. I'm so glad I did. My review is only for coffee. I was out early in the morning and decided to stop for an iced caramel latte. It was very tasty and good strong coffee. It was a little sweet but not overpowering of caramel which is what I like. They had so many pastries and they smelled and looked really good. Will definitely need to come back to try them. The shop is really cute has plenty of seating inside and has a cute little patio area in the back. If you see a line out the door still stop by because there is not a lot of space inside for the line, so it looks way longer than what is really is. The owner is super nice, friendly and welcoming. What a cute, little café tucked away in Glen Ellen! We stopped by for a quick lunch before our next wine tasting reservation. We got one of their baguette sandwiches (they didn't have much of a variety when we were there) and the french onion soup. I have loved Les Pascals since they opened. I know you have to wait in line, and I won't even bother going on the weekends because the lines are long and the baked goods sell out. This last experience was dreadful. I am not sure if there was someone else baking, they changed ingredients or just had a bad day. The croissants were 1/2 the normal size, they were doughy, not the normal crispy and buttery shell. The tuna sandwich was on some sort of bread that resembled Subway sandwich bread, and there was about a tablespoon of tuna in the sandwich. As usual, their way of having to stand in line and order, wait and pay must be changed soon! it's ridiculous. There must be a way to streamline this process as it is so frustrating waiting for one customer at a time to order, heat up goodies, make coffee, and then pay. read more

Visiting Glen Ellen, and leisurely strolled up here one morning...only to have my mind BLOWN. What an absolute treat... baguettes, fresh bread, savory and sweet croissants, pastries, coffee...and not a single bad choice. My favorite was the coconut pastry (it had a much fancier french name from the lovely french owner but I wouldn't do it justice). The chocolate croissant and apricot rolls were also phenomenal. The line was long! We were there by 9 a.m. and the line had already formed - we waited for maybe 20 minutes? They do offer curbside service - and maybe next time we'll do that. But on this day, we wanted to check out what they had. We ended up getting some kouign-amann (my favorite), an apple slice, pain au chocolat, a baguette, a cappuccino and a latte. Les Pascals is an adorable local French patisserie with very friendly staff. There's a decent sized seating area inside and limited parking I had my first ever pan au chocolate and it was so delicious with decadent chocolate and flaky buttery croissant. Fantastic little cafe that's worth a stop if you are in Sonoma for wine tasting. We had the cookie, pistachio macaron and Raspberry Feuillete to go with a cappuccino, macchiato and regular (Italian roast) coffee. I loved my raspberry pastry and coffee but everything was good! Shout out to the lady behind the counter. I didn't get her name or ask if she was the owner but she most definitely ran this place. There was a non-stop stream of traffic while we were there and she was super-efficient and very nice to every customer. One family left their purse at home, to which the owner (?) told them, no worries, you can pay me back later. This is a throwback and we loved this bakery and coffee shop. read more

2.5 stars but I will round up to 3. The place is cute and there was a line (be prepared....it moves pretty slow) and the ratings are high so I had higher expectations. The food, however, left more to be desired. Ordered a couple of these chocolate things that were pretty good. I have no idea what they were as there were no signs on anything in the display and I didn't see anything on the board that matched their description. They were small (about 2-3 inch) chocolate balls filled with dark chocolate ganache. Chocolate was rich and dark and not too sweet, just how I like it. The real problem I had with this place is with the baguette sandwiches. More specifically, the actual baguette itself. The baguettes were underbaked. They were pale, stodgy and lacked any kind of crust. They reminded me of the type of bread you get from a deli counter at a bottom rung grocery store. The actual sandwiches were also extremely small. I had the ham and cheese, and it didn't have the cornichons on it that I am accustomed to and I was really missing them especially since the bread didn't really have any texture other than mush. I feel like a good baguette should be a litmus test of a good French bakery, and this place didn't deliver unfortunately. Probably won't be back. read more

The place was five star, ten star, whatever star perfect for what I wanted, which was a tasty pastry and strong coffee. I had, still warm almond croissant that was as good as I've had for a long time, and I hunt out almond croissants the way a mongoose hunts out cobras. It was the middle of the day, so the coffee thermos only gave me 2 inches of coffee. The incredibly gracious French lady who I have no doubt is the owner, knocked me out in Americano to fiil up my cup, which could not have been more perfect. I sat inside, but there is a nice backyard patio. The chairs are uncomfortable little French bistro chairs, but that's just added to the ambience! read more

Have patronized Les Pascals several times since my 5 star review. Today the croissants, pastries and tuna sandwiches were mediocre at best. What the hell happened? Croissant was not puffy and crunchy. Discount supermarket quality. Scrunched down and doughy. The tuna baguettes were a poor jokes. Bread was hardly better than Subway sandwich white. There was about a tablespoon of tuna salad spread inside. Maybe a blessing. A talented 6 year old can make better tuna fish salad from a can of Starkist. I honestly hope that today's disappointment was an aberration. That Mr. Pascal is on vacation and the dishwasher was baking last night. I'm going to visit one more time and if the food is this bad again it's a scathing one star review and a lifetime ban. read more
