For the last 30 years I've relied on Les Schwab in Gresham for tires, brakes, air pressure checks and fills, etc. Solid service and good products at a fair price. They have always gone above and beyond for my family and me. Shoutout to Pat and Max as Rock Stars. I've been relying on Pat's advice for years. Max is new to me, but both have earned my admiration for their professional advice. Truthfully, all the staff I've met have done a sufficient job over the years. Yes, I've heard the trash talk, but I reserve that for the Lloyd Center and NW Portland locations who's staff have only been unhelpful and lackluster at best every time I or my daughter has been in contact with them. I will drive out of my way to go back to Gresham's Les Schwab. It's just peace of mind for me. Les Swab, you are amazing! I am a widow with a six year old child. I was in the process of moving when I stopped at Les Swab in Gresham to get a low tire checked - a low tire I had checked the week before at my dealership. The tire was worn down to the belts due to an alignment issue. As most of you know, moving is not cheap and is very stressful. I was struggling with tears when Howard, the service rep. told me they could not legally put the tire back on my car. When I told him my situation, he leaned down and whispered to my daughter that I needed a hug. Then he went about finding me a used tire to put on my car. I was there on Saturday a little after 10:00 am I am an employee of a very large Electrical contractor co. in Portland metro area. my service van has a flat and needed repair and while I was there I wanted the tires rotated. I came to the counter and I was told it will be an hour so. I was ok with that, after waiting an hour and 15 minuets and seeing many cars and trucks coming and going I decided to go in to see how long. the nice lady told me it would be at least another hour. This is BS my co. has over 200 vehicles on the road and we have a commercial account with Les Schwab and this is unexcitable I went to another tire shop a little ways away and they were on it and the wait was so short I did not have time to finish my coffee. I got four new tires there and was initially told that I needed an alignment as well so I made an appointment to get that done. When I arrived for my appointment, the guy took it for a test drive and determined that I didn't need an alignment after all. I appreciated the honesty as I have been to places that have been more than happy to take my money to perform unnecessary services. I feel like I have always been dealt with honestly at Les Schwab and that is why I will continue to go there. Also appreciate their warranty. It's the best I've seen. read more

I ended up with the wrong size of chains from a different Les Schawb, bought the correct size at Walmart and attempted to return the originals here since I was on a road trip. I had a receipt and everything. The people here started giving me immediate grief and told me I couldn't return the chains until April. I explained the situation, then they told me I couldn't return the chains because there was a tear in the cloth bag and couldn't be sold as new. That's how they were sold to me, the inside plastic bag was still sealed, and the chains were unused. Still absolutely refused. A manager overheard what was going on and told them to charge me $10 for a new bag. Really?! I just accepted it because it's the holidays and $10 isn't worth my time to argue with these monkeys. Then they didn't refund the sales tax while holding the original receipt in hand (chains were bought in WA) which I didn't notice until I had already left. I thought it was weird that the woman crumbled up my original receipt and threw it away without asking when she was done. My guess is she saw her mistake and didn't want to point it out. All the while she was lecturing me on how getting the wrong chains was somehow my fault...... in a very condescending way. So Les Schwab charged me about $20 to fix a mistake that they made in the first place. This is 2018 and things like this just don't happen anymore. Except for here. Take your business someplace else unless you want to deal with a lot of BS and issues if something goes wrong. read more

Went to les schwab in orchards (Vancouver) they said they couldn't fix my tire that came from them and I would have to get a new one so I drove all the way to this one in Gresham and he replaced my tire free of charge in a flash because I had to drive back to Vancouver to pick my kids up from school. Found a screw in my tire last night, think it had been there for a couple days. On my lunch break today I ran over to Les Schwab and they got me right in! Not only did they fix the tire, they checked the other three and even checked my air pressure in all 4! I was back to work in plenty of time with a HUGE smile on my face. I have been to this location twice to have a tire repaired and have yet to spend a dime. The first time I had ran over a nail and they had it patched up in about 30 minutes. When I went to pay I was told "no charge" but to please consider them when I need tires. The second time I went there was because of a flat tire but I figured I'd get a new set since during my last service at the dealership I was told they needed to be replaced. When I mentioned this to the person helping me he walked out to look at my tires. He asked me how many miles a week I drove then told me that I could safely drive on those tires for at least another four to five months. I literally had a credit card in my hand ready to buy new tires and they were honest enough not to take my money. They also fixed the flat for free. Also, I had gotten the flat on my way home after a night shift so out of frustration just randomly tossed the jack, tools, roadside safety kit in the back of the Prius. I didn't notice until I got home that they had placed the spare tire, jack, tools etc. back in their proper places and replaced the rear deck and neatly arranged the other loose items. I don't know if this level of service represents Les Schwab as a whole or just this location but I know this will be where I will buy my next set of tires when I'm ready. read more

I left angry!!I have praised in the past Les Schwab's awesome service. I have been to different branches and by far Redmond, Or is the best, in my experience. And by far the Gresham branch is the WORST! *They do not care about their customers, honestly they do not.* Or at the least the guy I dealt with does not. I was treated like an idiot today by the counter guy, Steve. I have done brakes, complete tire sets for my SUV, batteries, and chains. Here is what happened. I needed a battery and my mother in law generously lets us use her Schwab account sometimes for stuff that pops up. I have used it at different times for somewhere around 4-5 years at Gresham. Her account is at the Mill Plain Vancouver store and that has never been a problem. My mother in law calls to authorize me and just like that, my services are done and put on the account. Today they, (counter guy Steve) exhibited ZERO "want to" or "care to" when it came to figuring out how to get the account authorized for me at Gresham so I could get an operational battery in my wife's car. I literally told them that I have been doing business this way for several years and have done complete brake systems, tires, etc. They basically told me that they couldn't do anything unless she came in and filled out a credit application. As mentioned above, she already has an account with them. That seemed very odd. After asking and trying to get some answers in order to get a new battery, I was basically told..... I'm Sorry and that was it. No one called up to the Mill Plain store to figure out how they can get their customer the services he needs, nothing. I got blank looks on faces when I kept inquiring as to how we can get this done, and why all of a sudden they need her to leave work in Downtown Portland to drive out here to sign a credit application for an account she already has. There may have been a policy change and that would be fine, but I got no explanations of such, or any Schwab employee attempting to help in anyway. They let me walk out the door, only after I sat there for an hour and authorized the work to be done. Only after it was installed they decided to deal with it. And by deal with it, I mean they dismissed me and literally starting working with another "valuable" customer. I asked if there was a resolution and again I heard...... I'm sorry. "We'll take the battery out of my car that you just had that kid install," I said and I guess I'll go somewhere else that will help a guy." So they did take the battery out and put my old one back in let me walk out the door. As I was leaving I asked once more, "Ok, that it?" "No answers for me?" Just blank stares. The worst customer service I've ever experienced at Les Schwab, and you can be sure people will hear about this. They advertise service as their focus and also there other places around with good service, at which we have accounts also, that will gladly put in a battery for me. I have a hunch I will not hear from them, because they truly don't care, they don't! And by the way, the Manager, Howard was right there and also did nothing. read more

Day wasted, due to lack of up-front honesty. I went in today for a brake inspection and tire rotation to a company I've always used and have always respected their emphasis customer service. I was told it would take about an hour before my car could be looked at...no problem, busy day, I can wait. Two and a half hours later, with my car still waiting in the parking lot, I asked for my key back and was told in an unapologetic manner that my car was still behind a few cars. My problem is less the wait as much as them being dishonest with me about how long it would take. If it's going to be 3 hours, then tell me it'll be about three hours, not one. I used to believe Les Schwab was one of the last local companies that put customer service ahead of sneaking in a buck, but alas, I was wrong, but at least I won't make the mistake of going back there again in my lifetime. I love Les schwab!! But if your looking for quailty customer service dont come here. Everyone is not on the same page. I had an appointment and asked if i could come earlier they said np. I came in they said an hr and half. Its been almost 4 hrs and the guy is now telling me he can get it in and is gonna need another hr. And then on top of that no one even cares that they are inconveniencing people and treat u like some 3rd rate customer. Ive had accounts with these guys for over half a decade. I get wheels for my hummer n audi all the time. I just can't believe they would treat a loyal customer like this esp when other les scheab is so on point. I am so upset i think im to the point where i am no longer going to be doing business with these guys. Because its obvious how good business is, so we can sacrifice customer service right? I can't say enough good things about Les Schwab Tire Center and the staff that works here. We got a flat on I-84 and came here to have it repaired. We called ahead of time to make sure they would have time to see us since it was about an hour before they closed. We talked to Pat, and he assured us that even if we showed up a minute before closing, they wouldn't leave us stranded. Once we arrived, Howard got us help right away and was quick to spot the hole in our tire. We were in and out in less than a half hour and the price was more than reasonable. All of the staff were friendly with smiling faces and made us feel like we were in good hands. We are moving to the Portland area next month, and this place will definitely have our business when we do. I experienced a never ending nightmare at the Les Schwab in Gresham to the point now that I will never go back. It started about 2 years ago with brakes that were not installed correctly. They fixed it for free but it caused damage to something else that I then had to pay for. Then at the beginning of this year we had a flat tire and when we tried to put the spare on we noticed that this store had stripped out one of the lug nuts. Got an alignment done and new tires there. Then a few weeks ago got new front axels. Then with our luck drove over a nail and got another flat. Tried to put a spare on and.... This store put on a wrong lug nut and we could not get the spare on... again...Got their service car to our house and had them fix the flat tire. 4 hours later the tire was flat again. According to the store manager there was another patch in the tire that came loose which was impossible because this tire was a few months old with no previous repair. Either he lied or they sold me a used tire as a new. While there I told them to check the axel work and breaks. They told me the breaks were going bad but are still ok to drive. Well, guess what. 100 miles later a horrible grinding noise from the front tires. Today I had to go to a mechanic due to a different issue and I had him check the grinding noise. The breaks were so bad that they were already grinding on the metal. He also noticed that this Les Schwab had left 2 lug nuts on a different tire loose. I have to drive my car alot with my 3 year old child in it. What this Les Schwab has put me through is not worth the customer service they provide!!! read more

Hustlers! That's right, they hustle all day long. I should get a job here because I need to lose 50lbs. They are honest, they do great work, and they stand behind it 100%. They're not the cheapest in town, and not nearly the most expensive, but they never try to sell you anything you don't need. They recently had to refer me to another shop because they don't do rear differential work, but I didn't have to pay a penny for having had them tear apart the rear-end and make the diagnosis. In the past 15 years, this shop has done all my tire, wheel, brake, battery, suspension and alignment work. I only wish they did more (engine, transmission & body work), because then I would feel totally secure. Les Schwab has earned my business, and my respect. read more

So disappointed with this location. Usually have great service at Les Schwab. Not here and I see I'm not the only one. Went in to have a screw in my tire repaired. I informed the lady at the counter, not sure who she was, that my rims have a special black coating on them and that to be extremely careful because i was about to leave for an auto show in Seattle that my car was in. She said it would be an easy repair. After waiting to have the work done, I went out and inspected the car and found all the coating had been scrapped off around the rim edge. When I went back in to complain, the guy that did the repair said it was unavoidable. And wrote unavoidable on the invoice I got AFTER it was repaired. Unavoidable is me saying go ahead after you INFORM me that it would cause damage PRIOR to the unavoidable damage. Not once was I informed of the possible damage nor was i informed the tire needed to be removed from the rim, i was told it would just be plugged. I woukd have waited until after the car show. The staff are in such a rush that quality service isnt even there. The tech couldnt even get the lug gun on the bolts without damaging the paint as well. The basics of this review is the manager was there watching, never came over to find out what was wrong or to resolve any issues, the tech could care less that he damaged the car and refused to give me corporates information. I have the internet. I found it myself. I won't return to Les Schwab anytime soon. It seems that quantity of cars is more important that the quality of service. It would be one thing if i just took the car in and didnt warn them. But because I was very clear that I didnt want to damage it before an autoshow, and they chose and knew it would cause damage and didnt give me the option to refuse or accept is crappy service in my book. read more

This morning While on my way to work I was run into a median by a moving truck who merged into my lane. There was no damage done to the body of my car, but I was concerned that I had damaged my tires (flat tire) with the debris located in the median. I made my way to this Les Schwab location to have some take a quick look at my tires looked. As soon as I got out of my car, Dennis approached me and asked how he could help me. I explained the situation, a little shooken up, and he immediately said he would get right to looking at my car and taking care of me. Not even 10 minutes went by before James came in to give me a report, they had found a screw in one of my tires and had also completed a complete inspection to see if there was any additional damage. James also said that they could take my car over to their alignment area to check if my alignment had been knocked off by the high curb of the median, to which he said it was no extra cost and no extra trouble. My visit was free and efficient, it was definitely very nice to have this experience after something so crazy. I am VERY pleased and very comforted by the service I received today! This is by the far the best service I have received at a Les Schwab in my entire time of being a customer with them. Thank you James and Dennis for being so phenomenal with your work/care! Salesman told me I needed two new tires so the tread was even on my tires... problem was it is a new car so there was no reason for the sale of two tires for even tread. When I told him that he was certain I needed two. Another employee came up and let me know that I did not need two new tires. Just one. So my almost $600 quote ended up closer to $300. read more

I was at this location today attempting to have a tire repaired it had a nail in it. A employee told me there was a hour wait . I said ok I will come back in a hour , he was going to fit me in . Oh yes I was working and very busy. By the way will there be a charge ? The manager at the end of counter said there would be!!! I've gone to several different Les Schwab locations across Oregon and typically get at least decent customer service. This location is close to where I live and work so I have been going there out of convenience but now the poor service is outweighing the proximity of the location. I have had to argue with employees over replacing tires that they have not been able to successfully repair even after explaining that I was going to pay for the replacement tire and was not trying to get something for free (something that the person behind the counter kept implying). I was told that they were just going to fix it and sell it as used to someone else (I feel sorry for the person who bought it!). Now I have a brand new car that got a flat about a month ago. I took it in to have it looked at, they claimed to have fixed it but it continues to have issues. I received poor customer service when I explained what has been going on and I was told there was no way it was because they didn't fix the tire correctly the first time. This is the last time I'll take any of my vehicles to this location. The headaches are repeat visits just aren't worth it. read more
