I took my time but I'm finally giving Madras LS a review it deserves. I hit the pothole from Hell traveling over Mt. Hood. I rolled down the mountain and my car indicated it was done with my fool self right near pretty much nowhere. As it turns out, 25 miles north of Madras which I had never heard of and it took the AAA truck 3 hours to get there from Bend to find me. It turned from a spare tire to a tow when the driver found a second compromised tire. When I got to LS early in the afternoon, I was greeted with a smile and as much help as they could offer considering the low profile tires I use were not in stock until two days later, there are no rental car locations nearby and Lyft / Uber haven't arrived in Madras yet. They managed to point me to the local municipal airport which had one car available to rent. They even drove me the 2 miles to the airport. My car was even done a day early, although I couldn't make it back until the day after. The tires aren't cheap but I opted for Continentals vs the Chinese discount. A horrible ordeal breaking down in the middle of nowhere but LS made it as pleasant as possible considering the circumstances. Absolutely outstanding service and care. Thank you! read more

I called and spoke with a gal who quoted me for two batteries 377.00 plus 26.00 installed for both. I arrived the next day and she quoted me over 400.00. I asked about the quote for 377.00. She confirmed that they had these for my truck. Mechanic came out to confirm that I needed new batteries. I asked what was the difference between the two and he said he didn't really know and that they both had the same warranty. I told him that I'd like to go with the less expensive batteries since the warranty was the same. Another called me to the counter stating all was done and said that it was a total of 493.00!!! I asked why so much when my quote was less? He said that the other batteries would NOT work for my truck. Ok. So WHY didn't the mechanic who said I could also go with the less expensive batteries come out to tell me this BEFORE INSTALLING? I would have like to have had the CHOICE TO GO ELSEWHERE!! That's two miss quotes 2 days in a row!!! Also two unknowledgeable employees, and one visit. read more

I always take my vehicle to this shop in Madras. The staff is friendly and helpful and they always do a good job. I bought my tires from them and they rotate them free and even send me reminders when it is time. There is never pressure to fix this or that once they show you what needs attention. When I was moving to Oregon I had some issues along the way with strange noises coming from my van. I stopped in at one of their shops and they looked it over and said I was safe to continue on. They didn't charge me a penny and just said to keep them in mind next time I needed tires, etc. That incident is what led me to the store here in Madras and I've never regretted taking my vehicle to them for whatever it needs. I wish they would go into the repair business because I would definitely take to them for everything. read more

In town for the eclipse, I decided against my better judgment to be a Good Samaritan and loan my jumper cable to someone who needed it. Normally, I'd do that in a jiffy, but the exodus out of town after the totality had just started and the roads were clogged. So, I tried to drive the 2 blocks to the person needing help through some gravel areas and got a flat. That person had left - probably someone else jumpered him - but I got a flat for my efforts. Luckily, I was right next to these guys. They let me in through the exit (again those clogged roads), patched my tire for free, would not accept a tip and wished me a happy stay in Oregon. read more

BUYER BEWARE !! As an elderly customer I remember the good old days of not only good product but also great customer service at Les S. Les built an empire with great product and phenomenal training and customer service. Ron, Patrick, Joe and any other management, I promise you you going to watch the stars come tumbling down. (Yelp Stars). This is the first time in many years, I am shopping my business elsewhere. I tried to get new tires for our Dodge, was told to go back home for correct tire size ???. I did it. I called and they reeled off some numbers and costs, not even mentioning the sales opportunity. I want to see what I'm spending a thousand dollars on. So ..... I go ahead and ask for an appointment, NO ! , I was told I have to go online to make my own appointment . Then I asked for some management to speak with, a nice lady from admin came on the phone ??.. There goes the personal customer service and what if I did make an appointment, how would the shop be assured the tires I want are in stock ! They couldn't. Patrick talk to me in a patronizing manner and just gave the, yeah, yeah what ever attitude. I sincerely would suggest some major training take place from the top down. Waited outside for an hour before and was 4th in line. Got skipped right over until I had to go tell them. Les Schwab in Madras went above and beyond help us with our trailer tires. We were hauling a load of hay on an old, borrowed trailer. We'd already blown a tire and were on the spare. By the time I had cell service, it was 30 minutes before closing and we were 30 miles away. I asked if there was anything they could do to help us get new tires for the rest of our jouney. The manager said he'd wait for us to show up. We rolled into the parking lot exactly at closing time. Employees ended up staying an extra 30 minutes to put on all new tires and get us safely back on the road! We truly appreciated the fact that they were willing to stay late to help us out! read more

My first experiance with Les Schwab Tire Centers was about 12 years ago and i have been a loyal customer since. The products and services that they offer are top notch and the Customer Service that i have received has ALWAYS been EXCELLENT! Some people feel that Les Schwab is somewhat overpriced BUT, im a firm believer in that YOU Get What You Pay For and after my experiance with Les Schwab yesterday...... I will NEVER go any place else! I have a 2003 Ford F-150 Lariet 4x4 that has a rather expensive set of Open Country Mud Terrain tires that i purchased from The Les Schwab Tire Center in Madras, Oregon about 4 years ago ( tires have just under 25,000 miles on them ) and still have alot of tread left. In fact very little wear at all if you can belive that? Anyway, it had been awhile since i had last been to Les Schwab and when i went to my local Ford dealer for an Oil / Filter change the service tech noticed that all 4 tires had quite a few cracks where the sidewalls meet the rims and that i should have the tires checked out. My first thought was On No.......This is going to be expensive BUT, i decided to go to Les Schwab in Madras and show them the tires and hope for the best? Good luck with that im thinking in the back of my mind. Boy was i wrong! When i arrived i was Immediately assisted by one of the Service managers ( Jeremy ) who took some measurements and then informed me that the tires would be replaced on a Pro-Rated basis under the Les Schwab Tire Warranty. I had paid allmost $1000 for this set of ( 4 ) tires AND that was allmost 4 years ago SO, im thinking its STILL going to be expensive BUT, i was wrong again! Since the tires had very little wear on them and so much tread left, i received a credit of $178.00 per tire. Dave ( The Store Manager ) went over tire options with me and was very helpfull to say the least. The replacement tires i chose were the Toyo Open Country A/T and they just happened to be On Sale AND In Stock! The staff at Les Schwab then proceeded to put my truck up on the lift in the service bay and had the NEW tires mounted and balanced in less then an hour! My warranty credit was then applied to my ( 4 ) NEW replacement tires and my total bill wound up being just over $300.00 which is a far cry from the $1000 or more that it could of been if i had purchased the tires someplace else that did offer this kind of warranty or worst yet......make you jump through hoops to get them to honor a warranty! I must say that im very pleased with my latest Les Schwab experiance BUT, most important of all...... to deal with a company that DOES stand by what they sells. I didn't give this facility 5 stars because of their refusal to send their trucks to my location to tow my vehicle due to traffic: they were only 3 miles away!! Glad I was in a safe location. After attending solarfest to enjoy the total eclipse I returned to my vehicle to find a flat tired. Thank goodness for USAA roadside assistance. They sent a tow truck to my location within 15 minutes after calling them. Amazingly, that tow truck was able to reach Les Schwab within 10 minutes after picking up the truck in the heavy traffic. Once arrived to Les Schwab we received 5 star service. They did not have our tired in stock that was quoted. We were given the pricier tired at the low cost quote in addition to a military discount. Plus, they patched up the deflated tired so we can have a spare. The facility provided complimentary phone charger stations with plugs. The bathrooms were extremely cleaned, complimentary coffee with popcorn, and lots of sitting room. Even with all the people there we were in and out in 30 minutes. read more

NEVER AGAIN ! Please read and understand all of what I say and mean here. LS has lost its edge of having " customer service" as a differenturator in making a choice for service. I have literally spent thousands of dollars at LS, beginning in 1960 at Grateries in Forest Grove. I have watched the deterioration of service over the past few years. Today was the last straw ! I made an appointment last week for some trailer work, they said great, but you bring in one part needed I was quoted an approximate price and made an appt. On line. Went in this morning and was greeted by a less then congenial young man, he put me on stand by . I waited. Finally he spotted my trailer under the outside roof, an older gentleman walked over, not even acknowledging me and said we wont do that, to problematic and walked away. Needless to say I was frustrated and disappointed in this crew and company. I asked to see the manager and the man literally laughed at me and said whatever. I waited 20 min. Outside and 10 more inside and the manager NEVER did come out to converse with. And again I urge all perspective customers to seek out alternatives to the sinking group of people. Having met and known Les, I know he would be embarrassed at this company today, in particular the Madras crew. read more

These guys are great. We had a flat in our small RV on a really hot day a few miles before we got to Madras. We called them and they reached us in 15 minutes, put our spare on, led us into the shop to put on a replacement tire. Most of it was Covered under warranty because we had bought the tires at a Les Schwab three years prior. Pleasant and informative staff. Very helpful. To the young guy who sold me a set of lug nuts today for a F-150. I knew you had no time today so I bought the lugnuts and planned to change the tires myself. Your suggestion of a smaller socket was right on. A 7/8 hex socket fit just right and I was able to get even the most messed up lugnuts off without having to cut any of the caps off.
