This review is for the clinic itself, not my injector. I was a regular here and got a few different services. I got my lips done twice with Nurse Emilia then went to Nurse Marina. After six weeks, I decided they just looked too "done" for me, personally, versus the work I got in the past with Nurse Emilia. I didn't feel like myself and this clinic prides themselves on enhancing your natural lips. I had someone approach me at my annual Christmas party and the first thing she said was "did you get your lips done?!" - hadn't seen her in over a year. Some people are okay with feeling done but it just wasn't for me. To be clear they were not OVERdone or bad, per se, I just really was not happy to the point where I knew I had to get them dissolved as it didn't feel natural. Since I live in CA now, I got them dissolved here and paid about $300 for that. So now all in about $1K for work reversal. When I reached out to Marina she was super understanding, kind and directed me to Elizabeth who handles things like reimbursement. Elizabeth is not who they should have managing highly sensitive client services. Her text just lacked fully empathy for anything I had shared with them... Customer service is not just about saying you get the service we give you and we think it looks great. Customer service means listening, taking a call, maybe meeting in the middle etc. Why do I have to school this place on customer service is beyond me. Elizabeth basically said she "didn't see anything wrong with my lips and she thought they looked great!" and per their office policy they don't offer refunds" - it felt contractual and gross. No conversation, this clinic only cares about money. Genuinely. That was that. I responded over text and they never responded. Sad - because I spent thousands there and would've even met them in the middle say if they paid for the dissolve that, remind you, I paid out of pocket just to feel like myself again. She is not only incredibly skilled at natural, beautiful aesthetic work (I've used her for Botox, filler, skincare services, etc), but also genuinely one of the most knowledgeable and thoughtful physicians I've ever worked with. Fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt amazing. The vibe in the office is calm and relaxing. It's super clean too which is important for me. Dr. Gerstman was right in time. If I could give her 0 stars I really would. I paid thousands of dollars to have a permanent scar on my lip with extremely botched lumpy bumpy lips. I usually neverrrr write reviews but honestly I should have listened to the reviews and I didn't. If you don't want to get botched do NOT go to her unless you want to loose out on tons of money and come out looking deformed. She only injected my top lip and put a lot of filler towards the center she didn't even fill the side but thank gd bc I would have had botched filler absolutely everywhere. My smile used to be so beautiful and wide before she shorted it with injecting bumpy botched filler in the front of my lip.She should be absolutely ashamed that she messes up so many peoples faces. A few people have said to take all negative reviews seriously and I WISH I would have listened to them! READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. Here's my experience that ended up with me losing THOUSANDS of $ because I didn't take these reviews seriously: I found Dr. Gerstman on IG for her lip augmentations. I contacted the office to get a quote for microblading, cheek, and possibly chin fillers. I was originally quoted a range PER AREA as you can clearly see from the initial quote via email I've attached to this review. (Why would you categorize price quotes by area if you don't charge PER AREA???) My experience in the office was odd. The office was sad, small, sketchy, out-dated, and was covered in dust. It looked like hadn't been cleaned in months. There were 3 small rooms, one of which looked like it was being used as a dumping ground, with boxes of files all over the room, mixed in with cleaning supplies and products. I wasn't offered anything to drink and the manager was unfriendly and looked miserable while I filled out paperwork and sat waiting for my technician. I will say, my microblading experience was good. The technician did a great job on my brows. She was meticulous and friendly. But when it came time to see Dr. Gertman, I felt rushed, unheard, and a little uncomfortable with her bedside manner. I told her I wanted to adjust a little prejowl sagging. She laughed at me and said, "Well honey, that's just your face". I found that to be extremely petty and rude to say to a client. She proceeded to tell me that she could add Voluma in my cheeks to raise my face up and could also add a little in my chin if needed. I said OK and she proceeded to inject 3 syringes of Voluma in my cheeks/chin. When it came time to pay the bill, I went to use the Yelp deal, 20% off for New Clients. I was told by the manager, "Sorry, but we don't offer that anymore. Yelp won't take it off our page." I told her I specifically came here because of the offer and she just stared at me. When I asked the price of the bill without it, it was $4600! That's almost $2000 MORE than what I was originally quoted, on the high end. They were charging me $1200 PER SYRINGE, not area like I was quoted, and $1000 for microblading, which was +$200 than the original quote. And to top it all off, they still REFUSED TO HONOR THE YELP DEAL! When I inquired why I was being charged way over my original quote, she condescendingly explained that I didn't understand the quote. Oh and also they raised their prices since my original quote and "didn't I get the email"? I looked through my inbox and wouldn't you know, I never received any communication from Dr. Gerstman's office about the price increase. The only response she gave was, "sorry you didn't understand the prices". It should also be noted that at the time of the quote, I booked immediately, which in any business, you should honor that quote regardless of your office deciding to raise prices after the fact. The worst part about all of this, her work wasn't great. I didn't see ANY difference after spending almost $4k on Voluma. I waited another month for my microblading touch-up appointment to come and the day before (after I had already confirmed via text) the manager emailed me less than 24 hours before my appointment to tell me my original time wasn't going to work and could I come 2 hours later (which I see from many other peoples' experience is the norm here). After my experience, I reach out to several other Cosmetic Dermatologists in the NYC area for Voluma quotes. To my dismay, NONE of them charged that much and were extremely shocked by my experience. I had one Dr. who I spoke with, only a few blocks away from Dr. Gerstman's office, with similar work/IG following say "I've heard of her and I've heard she overcharges in her business. We charge $700/syringe and that is the average for NYC. $1200 is way overpriced." The moral is: With so many options in NYC, find a professional who is transparent about their pricing and treats clients like they matter. I've learned the hard way, just because they have a great IG account with lots of followers, doesn't mean they do good work or honor their quotes. She remembers everything that we talked about in April and she remembers all my concerns and she really wanted me to be happy with my lips (im veryy particular). I was looking forward to having treatment done here as I follow Dr. Gerstman's work on Instagram. Booked an appointment a month out, put down $100 consultation deposit fee and the night before my appointment I get an email that my appointment has been canceled due to an emergency the doctor had. At this point I'm annoyed bc I took time off work, scheduled a nanny to come and worked around my husbands and kids schedule. The next morning I get a text from an office staff reminding me my appointment has been canceled again. Then after reading all the reviews on Dr. Gerstman it looks like this is something they do often to their clientele so I requested my consultation fee back which they did return, hence the 2 stars. I had an appointment today to get lip fillers I had from a different doctor dissolved. The lady at the front desk was very polite and welcoming. I got called in right on time by Dr. Gerstman. She was so nice and sweet. The office was immaculate and organized. Everything looked so clean. When it came time to discuss how and why I wanted my lips dissolved, I told her what I was going for and what I wanted and she knew exactly what I meant. The process was quick but extremely efficient. I will give an update when I go back to her to get them refilled, which I'm sure will be just as great. Perfect masseter Botox, excellent eye for symmetry. Beautiful NJ office. I had a slight issue with one treatment I received with Dr. Gerstman but she listened to me, worked through it with me, and took care of me to the best of her abilities. You want someone who you can go back to that will provide you with the same level of care as day 1- Dr. Gerstman approached every concern of mine as though they were her own. As a medical professional myself, I know for sure that I would likely not have received this detail of attention if I went somewhere else. Dr. Gerstman made herself available to me and continues to offer advice and comfort. She is a kind and honest physician who clearly loves her craft. My praise in this industry does not come easily. I had a consultation booked 2 months ago but I opted to do my injections at another time due to work. I was nervous because some reviews said dr Leslie was known to cancel on short notice. Boy is that right. I had to wait a month for her next availability. Then a few days before that date I was asked to reschedule to ANOTHER month later. I had to move work appointments around for that so I was like plzzzz don't cancel this one! PLEASE READ UNTIL THE END....So from my first phone call to the office the secretary was very pleasent and I was excited for my visit. I called in for tear trough fillers. I got there and I was seen by Dr. Gerstman who examined me and told me I had nothing to worry about and I would get the results I was expecting. Of course I asked how many years she had of experience which she said about 10+ so I felt really comfortable. When she started off she sanitized under my eyes with alcohol pads I believe and told me it would be a slight pinch which it was. I wondered though if she was suppose to map out the area she would be injecting to get precise results but she didn't and I didn't bother asking bc I felt I could trust her... in the end she didn't use any creams or nothing and told me I was set... I barely saw a difference and she recommended me to come for a second round to really see a difference mind you this is a 1,200.00 procedure but I thought ok ill come back. Second time I come back but I come back with my uncle as my mom wasn't in the country to come with me.. Same routine I went in the office in the room and was telling her my uncle was here bla bla bla so this time I mention I had previous lip fillers from somewhere else who did a horrible job and left me w some bumps in the inside of my lips and she said she would dissolve them with an enzyme and that was 200 I believe or 250 around that price range so I agreed and she applied numbing cream to my lips and in the mean time she continued with my tear trough fillers .. she follows the same procedure sanitizes under my eyes but this time she actually maps out with a pencil the area in which she will be placing the injection and took her time even more and I wondered if it was because I mentioned my uncle was here I guess to "supervise" so as I said she really took her time with the injections and when she was done she placed cream under my eyes and something else and im like wow why wasn't I treated the same the first time I came for my tear trough fillers?! that made me upset bc I felt cheated on bc I was by myself the first time and I guess I didn't come off with much authority??. Anyway she injects my lips with the enzyme and massages slightly and in the end I did notice a VERY slight difference but when I ran my tongue across my inner lips I still felt the bumps so I was upset. As for my tear trough fillers results I was more pleasant this time because I saw when I applied make up it looked smoother under my eye but 2,400 was not worth it for just tear trough as I found other major doctors on instagram posting videos with great results from even puffier or dark under eye problems for way cheaper, but I didn't want to be cheap with my face after what happened with my lips. read more

Please read: My hope is others read before booking an appointment with Leslie. First, my time is valuable and I booked in advance. I was cancelled on the morning of my appointment. I had rescheduled the day and not only lost that day but the following because I was afraid to have meetings after getting injections. Now 2 work days lost. My mistake was giving benefit of the doubt and rebooked. I finally was seen and discussed my concerns or things I was looking to work on. It seemed like Leslie had made up her mind how I needed to be treated and wasn't totally interested in my views. As if she could see me better than I could. My second mistake is I let it proceed. Needless to say I was dissatisfied and looked worse afterwards. I was told I had to get used to it ? Dr. Gerstman is a wonderful doctor who does wonderful work. Her office and space is lovely and you feel very welcome and right at home. I highly recommend her for her expertise, bedside manner and fantastic talents and knowledge. She's very gracious and really lovely. One word of note: Make sure to confirm all pricing the day of your procedure, before you have it. Be sure if using a GILT voucher you show Dr. G and the staff and confirm which one you're using the day of your procedure (they seem to run different promotions). This will help to avoid any misunderstandings and bad feelings. Any misunderstandings will fall in favor of the office. As much as I like Dr. Gerstman, being made to feel I was in the wrong for going to the wrong address ( her office is on east 64th street and not west as stated on Google and Yelp) as well as it being implied I was showing the wrong GILT voucher (Dr. G was kind enough to offer to honor the price after it expired but then I was told by her staff that the one I had was not the one being honored (?) and it was suggested that I was trying to use another, cheaper one, which I certainly was not as it is the only one I ever had and referenced) I can't feel comfortable returning. The fact that this "business" is rated 4 stars on here really boggles me. Let me start off by saying I do not leave reviews unless I am extremely HAPPY with a service or place, however, the disappointment I feel is riveting. I booked an appointment with Dr. Leslie Gerstman and was cancelled on the morning of the appointment. Emergencies happen no big deal.. I rescheduled with her for a second time (I had to wait 2 1/2 weeks to a day that was convenient for her mind you) *also keep in mind I took a day off from work, stopped drinking caffeine two days prior to the appointment to avoid bruising, and being that I'm prone to cold sores I started talking Valtrex prescription pills the day before* My second appointment was then cancelled the morning of YET AGAIN. Silly me rescheduled for a 3rd time (again at a date that was convenient for the Dr only) only to get cancelled on the night before at 9:30pm!! How kind of them to finally offer to return my $100 deposit fee back. This office is a complete joke and does not take their jobs or their patients seriously. I took off from work and took half days to book these multiple appointments only to be let down and disappointed over and over again with very little apology from the Dr or the staff. Looking back at the reviews I should have listened, apparently this is the norm for Dr. Leslie Gerstman. I'm shocked she's still in business with how often she cancels on people and with NO regard. I was super excited to get some lip filler, studied Dr Leslie Gerstman for 2 years before I summoned enough courage to actually do it. It was my first time so I was very nervous. There was a 20% increase in services since the initial time I contacted so it was so pricey. I scheduled an appointment anyway. The day of I received a cancellation due to Dr. Leslie Gerstman being sick, I was understanding and happy to reschedule. There was something going around because once I due for my rescheduled appointment I woke up very sick as well. I tried to cancel or reschedule my appointment for that day but could not reach anyone at the office. I finally reached someone and they said if I failed to show I would get charged. I was upset because I was understanding for Dr. Leslie Gerstman cancellation but she was not sympathetic to my mine. I proceeded in anyway, met the loveliest front desk representative Liz, who knew I wasnt feeling well offered me tea and water. I waited about 20 mins for Dr. Leslie Gerstman to come in for my appointment as she was late to my 11am. When Dr Leslie Gerstman arrives she is very nice, professional, and gentle. We took before and after images. Since I was sick I did not want any images online because I felt stuffy and with redness around my nose. It was a very quick and painless procedure. I was told instructions and had to buy an after care kit which I thought should be free. I was told the swelling would go down and if I wanted more to give a call to go back. I got so swollen and bruised I got scared, finally a week later went down and I texted the doctors number to get a slight touch more and got NO REPLY. Dr Leslie Gerstman did not even call or check on me knowing it was my first time which Ive never encountered this from any Dr. I checked her Instagram and Dr. Leslie Gerstman posted me anyway without my consent after I told her directly not to. Dr Gerstman was an hour and a half late for my appointment and didn't even apologize. I figured that's because she takes her time with patients, but that wasn't the case for me. I felt like my procedure was rushed and she didn't accomplish anything i was asking for. She also didn't provide any after care instructions and was rushing to get me out. Service is good but there are frequent scheduling issues with the office even cancelling appointments just hours before the appointment on the same day. Given their strict policy of charging the patient the full service cost if we were to cancel on the same day, I would expect them to be more considerate and professional with each patient's time and schedule. read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR FILLERS ONLY. I went to Dr Gerstman first in March with good results and a second time, about 4 months ago for 1 syringe of juvederm injected on my lips. I feel compelled to write this review based on the injection results I received on my last visit. She left several lumps which had to be dissolved soon after I called to complain (with not much of an apology, but instead blamed it on the shape of my lips)... One major lump as seen in the picture I could move back and forth to the back of my teeth. It was a waste of money that resulted in poor product distribution and placement. I will also add that what was in fact left out of the juvederm syringe dissolved in a span of 3 months (usually will last about 6-9 months to a year). I'll leave you with the pictures. On this second visit I also took my sister who had similar results and several more bumps than me, it was her first time getting fillers which I hoped would be a fun experience and instead she was left extremely disappointed. I will add that the doctor is a nice, charismatic and accommodating lady, although I would personally not suggest a visit for lip fillers. I thought about going a third time (don't ask why) when I received a birthday discount and inquired on it, but definitely gave it a second thought after reviewing my pictures, it's just not worth the discount. read more

I had an appointment recently with Dr. Gerstman for an ultherapy eye lift. it was my first time with her and I was amazed when I got a text apologizing and informing me that Dr. Gerstman was running late. I have never gotten a text like that from a dr and it saved me from rushing out of work to make an appointment only to be kept waiting. I thought that was very considerate of her. Dr.Gerstman herself could not have been more professional and personable. I'm used to dermatologists trying to convince me I need more than I asked for, but Dr. Gerstman listened to my concerns and told me how she could address them. The ultherapy eye lift was a simple, short procedure. I had heard it hurt and yes it did hurt but not so much that I couldn't breathe through the 20 pulses. It was totally worth the discomfort though. My eyes are already looking more open and less tired and I'm excited to see what happens in the next few months once the results really take effect. I would definitely recommend both the Ultherapy treatment and Dr. Gerstman to a friend. read more
