Refund policy is a joke,it's like no other business I ever dealt with.Ordered a pool light as they had free installation on equipment and they don't tell you there's a trip fee until after you order the equipment.Ordered the light and it was overpriced as well all everything else there and I was willing to pay for it as the installation was free.Waiting for the light to come in I noticed on Pentair web site that that light was discontinued and the order was a day out from being delivered when I checked the order on Leslie's website it hadn't shipped. My luck I found the problem with my light and when I called Leslie's to cancel the order they said they would have to get approval for the refund!?Unbelievable?Approval to cancel an order that hasn't shipped !?Was a miracle I got the refund for the trip fee.The Next day I received a call from Leslie's that they were approving my refund because the light was out of stock? I guess I should read the fine print regarding there policies on refunds and returns. read more

AVOID!! #1 Their prices are almost twice the amount of other local pool supply places. #2 I bought a case of chlorine and acid (didn't even open the cardboard packaging let alone the containers themselves) and went to return them the same day and they wouldn't accept them. Super small.....They sell pool chemicals, floats and colorful lights etc. Some other stuff. They had a cool Elvis Presley float, Marilyn Monroe float and several other things that caught my eye... but they were alot of $$$. So standing in the isle I recorded to visit Amazon. I checked prices and reviews for a few items that I liked at Leslies. Amazon beat their prices on everything I saw. The guy working there was helpful to my husband about the merch. To pick up for cleaning some calcium build up on a small area of our pool where the water fall is. That was nice he helped guide him.... Too bad the Leslie brand calcium remover he recommended didn't work. So that was a waste of money. Not impressed....Here is Kym's tip of the day... Go to Kmart on Arneil they sell pool chemicals alot cheaper and Home Depot has them as well. read more

With no other patrons in the store whatsoever, the employee at this location refused to test our water because we have already had one water test this month. When I asked if we could pay for the free test, he replied that we could not. He also went on to give us information that contradicted the recommendations given by their own software on our previous test! After spending hundreds of dollars, we couldn't get one water test... even when he had no other customers to help. We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

They have the chemicals you need but it's a rip off. HD was out of chlorine so rather than drive out of town I stopped here knowing it would cost more. They charge over $10 per gallon for liquid chlorine. That's double what it should cost. The salesperson told me I should buy powdered chlorine because I will get more use out of it. I told him know thank you. His comment didn't make any sense. I think he meant shock which is not the same as liquid chlorine. I get the feeling he doesn't know what he's talking about and hoped I didn't either. 2 stars for just being there and having chemicals when you need them. Their prices are ridiculous though. I have no idea how anyone can regularly shop there. HD is 5 minutes away and half price. read more

BEWARE. DO NOT SHOP AT LESLIES POOL STOR The manager of the Camarillo store on Arneil Street is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. He uses their store policies as a predatory practice to corner patrons into a situation where they are forced to spend money that they did not intend to spend, at least under the circumstances that they thought. We went in to buy chlorine and noticed that they sell a replacement for our automatic pool floor cleaner. We spent quite a lot of time with the store manager and he convinced us to buy an upgrade to the basic one we had. We were worried that it may not work and expressed our concern. He said he understood. He said that it would not be a problem 'just return it if it did not work.' Period. No more conversation. We got home and our pump was not strong enough to propel the floor cleaner. Note - this is during covid 19 and any parent knows that life is very hard right now (home schooling kids, loss of income, etc.) and we are an hour and a half round trip from the store. We brought it back within 30 days and were surprised to hear that the store policy is a fourteen day return policy AND that if you go beyond that there is a 15% restocking fee (for a item that was in perfect condition, reboxed perfectly of which he said he would have had to return to their Wherehouse even if we had returned it within 14 days), but the policy that really got under my skin was that NO MATTER WHAT you are forced to spend the same amount of money THE SAME DAY YOU MAKE THE 'RETURN' even if you did return it within fourteen days!!!!! You would think that he would have verbally told us all three of these policies, let alone there is no way to actually 'return' the item; the exact opposite of what he said we could do. We spent a lot of money on the floor cleaner so the restocking fee was $71.50!!!! Just money burned. I was blown away. He was so rude and self righteous about it it made the whole interchange unbearable. I asked him where it stated these policies and he said it was clearly posted in the store. I looked around and said 'where?' He pointed to a sign. It was the 'price match' sign. Then he said it was another sign. It too was another price match sign. Then he said 'oh, it's on the back of the sign... it was another price match sign and the back of the other sign was the same sign. -Again, the back of the sign, where you cannot see it, but it was not there anyway: ridiculous. Then he pointed at a small, old vinyl sign that was worn out and dirty that sat on the counter with tiny writing that actually had part of the policy and I told him it was terrible business to communicate such a pivotal policy to customers in a way that is so inaccessible and that he should tell people what they are getting into as a compassionate, thorough way of completing a sale. He retorted by actually saying 'it was on the back of your receipt (in tiny blue writing that NO ONE looks at) and that I was lucky he honored the policy at all' because I was upset that he did not verbally tell us the store policies. I was upset and told him that it was a rip off and that we are all under tremendous financial stress during covid 19 and this was cruel because it was almost $500 we were spending in the store that we didn't have to burn. The level of obstinate, unempathetic, audacious, blatantly dismissive behavior that he displayed was absolutely the most pure example of horrendous customer service; the whole interchange would be a perfect instructional video for the company to use in training sales staff (let alone a manager!) on what NOT to do. We walked out of there ripped off for $71.50, were literally FORCED to spend $430 that we would not have spent because he was so rude, AND we would NOT HAVE BOUGHT THE FLOOR CLEANER IF WE KNEW WE COULDN'T RETURN IT!!! It is very hard to get away from believing he did this as a premeditated act, because he was so well rehearsed in the way he just rigidly imposed his (the store's) will on us with such smug disdain for the situation being obviously cruel and ridiculous. I had to point out to him that, as a 'small' business, let alone a small business during covid 19, he was ensuring the loss of thousands of dollars of future sales to which he seemed almost happy about, this indicating that he has no interest in the store's success and is a blatantly disgruntled employee. DO NOT SHOP AT LESLIE'S POOL STORES. It was such an awful experience that I think, if I owned that store, I would want the customer to contact corporate and tell them of the incident that I can only imagine is occurring regularly to a multitude of people. I have never been turned away at any Leslie's Pool for testing my water more than once a month, except for this one location, on a couple different occasions. I was told I already "used up" my free test limit for this month and if I would like to have my water tested, I would have to pay? I asked where in the store the water testing policy was but alas there was none, I'm just suppose to take the managers word for it. I would understand if they were busy, but that hasn't been the case. Perhaps it's laziness. Do your research before you go in. Find exactly what you are looking for and what you will need for your pool or spa. If you don't, you will talked into buying plenty of stuff that your pool guy probably wouldn't buy and then you'll get stuck with because most chemicals cannot be returned. Waited over 20 minutes even though the sign said they would be back in 5 minutes. Their return policy is only 14 days, so I needed to get this done today. I couldn't afford to leave. This is a management issue. If you cant afford to staff to cover a full shift, your hours are not 9 to 6. Its 9 to Noon and 1230 to 6. That needs to be made clear. Total waste of my time. Pros: 1. In a pinch, they'll have what you need to get by for just about any situation that arises, or can order the part if it's not in stock. Cons: 1. The sales reps lack basic pool knowledge. 2. The parts are usually low end, but priced the same as similar higher quality parts. 3. They don't honor their own price match policy. The policy is very simply written, but the sales reps will re-define the "intention" of the policy's meaning. To me, this is no different than blatant false advertisement. 4. Sales Reps aren't very friendly. Basically, stay away unless they're the closest pool supply vendor to you AND you have an emergency that is time sensitive. Under no circumstances should you consider them for higher-priced items, such as pool pumps, filters, or heaters. read more

My family and I have been coming here for years and each time it's been a great experience. They always know what to say and how to help. They also offer water testing! I will never go to this store again. We bought hundreds of dollars of chemicals from this store. But when we went to get our pool water tested after using said recommended chemicals to make sure the water was in normal range, the owner or employee refused to test our water, saying we had already gotten it tested. Well that was BEFORE we added their chemicals. I couldn't believe my ears, what horrendous customer service. I will take my money elsewhere and never step foot in this store again. The store had no other patrons, so it wasn't like they were too busy to test our water to make sure it was in normal range now. I can now understand why there were no other patrons in the store--I'm sure many others have gone elsewhere as well as I see other complaints for this issue. The previous 5 star rating "for visibility" was for someone else who says "Don't waste your time coming here: you'll just be lied to, knowingly oversold on supplies, and hurried out." Our sad experience as well, like we had wasted our time visiting the store, it was humiliating. We felt our concerns did not matter and they were disinterested in helping us. read more

A few months ago I had Leslie's come out to repair a pump leak. The repairman fixed a leak but informed me that there were 2 leaks and he was only sent out to fix one so he couldn't fix the second leak. I had to call and schedule another service repair-and pay another $100 travel charge. I complained to Leslie's but to no avail. Then 3 months later I noticed the pump leaking again. When I called to try to get it repaired, I was told that it had been more than 90 days so they would have to charge me another $100 to come back out. Mind you, it was only a week over their 90 day warranty. I have done business with Leslie's many times over the years. But not anymore. Be careful if you use their service! read more

I went into the shop today to get a round float for my grandbaby. The girl at the register never even looked my way to see if I needed any help. She was testing someones water sample. I asked her if she had any floats and where they would be. She said she would help me when she was finished, but pointed to the area the floats were located. The gentleman that was getting his water sample checked was now at the register. I got behind him to pay for my item. He stepped back so I thought he wanted me to go ahead of him.The girl told me again that she would help me when she was finished with gentleman's water sample. He told me that the register was on the opposite side. I went and stood there for at least 5 minutes. The girl at the register continued to check the water sample. I ended up putting my item back and left. I will never shop there again. The girl at the register was very rude. read more

Like most Leslie's stores, a jumble of pool trinkets and trash along with chemicals and equipment. Staff is always ready to help by testing your pool water, so they can sell you lots of extra chemicals of course AND BEWARE, THEY DO NOT ALLOW ANY RETURNS ON CHEMICALS CITING "SAFETY CONCERNS." Funny, I can return unopened food to my local grocery stores, but not unopened pool chemicals to Leslie's. Something not quite right here. But that's Leslie's for you. Think I'll shop elsewhere from now on and you should too. read more
