The one detractor is the information I have received when it comes to using fresh n' clear, being initially told when I first started coming to the store that I only needed to use 1 tablespoon 15 minutes before entering the hot tub and 1 tablespoon afterwards. The next time a different person told me that I could just use 1 tablespoon afterwards. The next time a different person told me that I couldn't go wrong with the amount of fresh and clear that I used, and could use 5 tablespoons if I chose to. While all of these answers may be correct, it is confusing. Nonetheless, I appreciate you because I've learned and I thank you and will continue to learn. read more

Great experience every time i go down there. About 6 months ago i decided to go on my own instead of using pool company anymore. It didn't go so well at the start, but Oshea went the extra mile (even testing my water when he was about to close store for the day and it was past cutoff time) to help teach me. Well...the pool looks better than ever now. He has great customer service and i asked him..."how long have you been doing this?" and he said 2 months LOL. Liars that cheated me out of a $20+ deposit. This shop was my go-to place for pool chemicals over the last couple of years and I had last purchased two 4-packs of bleach gallons in their yellow plastic containment box. I returned an empty 4-pack last year and now we have hired someone to handle the pool chemicals duties. I had an empty four-pack and wanted it out of my garage, so I stopped in today and asked if I could get my deposit back. First they wanted to know if I had the receipt. (are you kidding? after a year?) Then the older (50+) guy looked up my phone number and announced that I had already gotten my deposit back. So, I asked, how is it that I still have these jugs? He stuck to his story even after I asked, "So these belong to me now?" I should have cut holes in the bottom of the jugs before I left them there. Or at least put them in a recycling bin. I just wanted to take the time to put a review for Vanessia From the pool store... I went in there when I first got my pool because my friend said I needed to put some kind of chloride blocks... I am super new to having a pool and had no idea what blocks she was talking about... I Came into the store and was helped by the girl Vanessa She was super knowledgeable and told me everything I needed to set up my pool .. Who knew that even a above ground pool needed maintenance LOL...I've been in the store a few times and she's always the one that I end up going to because it never fails what she tells me to do works when my pool water was super cloudy it would not go clear she came to my rescue again with her knowledge... It's come to the point where anytime I need to pick up anything that I'm not 100% sure of or I start freaking out because my pool started turning green Or if I'm looking for anything particular I call to make sure she is working that day . Not that the other two guys are not helpful but they definitely were not as helpful as she was the one time I went and she was not there.. She didn't make me feel super rushed or stupid for asking the questions that I was asking ‍ By the time Summer is over I'll be a pro like her . I have only been to Leslie's a couple of times but I needed lay out floaties for the pool so I came here! I was kinda desperate because I wanted them for that same day so I knew I had to leave with 2 floaties. They had an okay amount of options, you'd think they would have more but they didn't. I bought two and left spending about $35 on them which I thought was a little over priced and after searching some up on Amazon when I got home it confirmed that I got gypped. I guess it's my fault for buying them so last minute. I will say that the quality of the floaties are great so I cannot complain too much. Usually things like that pop within the week but they've lasted about a month and counting so far have and been used plenty of times. Aside from floaties they have a large inventory, I did not really look around but I could tell they have all of your pool needs! Another great experience there this evening. Donald has been an enormous help to me over the last year and a half. I walked in that store the first day knowing nothing about pool care and with his help I'm successfully managing my own. Today he installed a motor in my old pump that quit and was good natured about it even though it was a bit of a bear. He is usually working alone but manages to take care of everyone in a timely manner. The store is bright and neat and I appreciate the rewards program and military discount. Parking is also abundant and convenient. We are leaving the area next year and my little trips to the pool store will be missed. Thanks Donald! read more

Went to location to buy a pool cover, 9/15/18 at 11:00AM. Store had no customers and two clerks behind the counter. they did not offer to assist and when I asked how much the pool covers were the woman said "depends on the color and the size". She continued to talk to the other employee and did not offer to assist me. Her tone was rude and uncalled for and I will not be shopping at this location again. Terrible service!! Came in a few hours ago and All we wanted was some help, something that may have taken say 3 minutes of your time, but you did not. The only man behind the desk was just casually talking to another man way after he had helped him. We were the only others in the store being ignored and looked at as of we were interrupting them. We waited along side the register for about 15 mins when you finally got around to ask if we needed help. When inquiring about the correct supplies, you were very condescending, as if our questions weren't worth your time. Despite all that we still bought over $100 worth of stuff. The nice thing to do sir was to ask if we needed help out. We did buy a cabana and a few heaver items. But don't mind us two ladies can get it. I wasn't carrying a 7 month old baby or anything. Maybe there needs to be an attitude adjustment or better customer service. I am not saying I should be waited on hand and foot but a little respect would have been nice. Thanks for the pool stuff I guess I won't be returning if I see that man again .wish I got his name. I can't even describe him other than. Stay away. I was using Leslie's for all my pool needs until last week when they accused my fiancé and I of being liars. This past March, I had 3 separate interactions with Leslie's Pool Supplies regarding a quote on a pool heater. All 3 times the manager, Donald (the guy with the ponytail), gave me a final quote of $1700 - after a $300 savings, as advertised. During one of these visits my fiancée came into the store and, with me on the phone, remotely, the salesman was very helpful. He called corporate to ensure we would get the same quote as previously offered, and made an appt for someone to come out. Once the installer showed up, his name is Brad, he attempted to charge us $300 more than the initial quote. I had contacted several levels of management in an attempt to explain the situation. Rather than admit that there was a incorrect price quote, initially, the manager and the regional manager claimed that my fiancée and I were lying about the price that was quoted. It's one thing to misquote a price and another to call your customers liars. Like I said, I was a loyal customer; but not anymore. read more

Carla answered my phone call and she assured me that she had parts on hand to repair my 26 year old Hayward pool vacuum. That afternoon I took the Hayward in to the store. First off, you have to understand that Carla has xray vission. She took the Hayward apart, right down to the individual parts. Then she went once to the stock room and came back with the exact parts I needed. In 5 minutes, by my watch, she rebuilt the Hayward and I was out the door. Literally, no more than 15 minutes in the store at 500 o'clock in the afternoon. Did I mention Carla was also very friendly and courteous? 5 stars are not enough. I am a customer for life, and I will always ask for Carla. Go and see Carla. You will not be disappointed. She can fix a rainy day. read more

Bought $80. bucket of store brand chlorine, have always been happy with product up until this last purchase. The chlorine was not dissolving in the filter. When brought it back, Donald was condescending with his attitude. Very disappointed that Leslie's staff did not even have the decency or professionalism to listen to our concerns or offer a solution, exchange, credit, anything. We will no longer be shopping here. Today I bought an O ring for my pool filter at the Parkway Drive location in La Mesa. I paid cash for this purchase. It was the wrong ring and the guy who sold it to me told me to return it to the Jamacha Road location to exchange it for the correct ring. I went to the counter to complete the transaction only to discover I could not return the incorrect item that I had purchased less than an hour ago (and get my CASH back to purchase the correct ring) unless I announced my full name, address and phone number in front of a group of unknown men in the store. I refused to give my phone number and John said he wouldn't complete the transaction unless I gave up my personal information because it was company policy. I have been going to Leslie's for over a decade and I am so put off by the lack of privacy extended to customers and this company policy that I will never set foot in these stores again. read more

Stopped by to check out their supply and asked for a quote on a pool fence. Tall thin build middle age guy was nice, have us a run down of the differences; quality, fence vs cover, etc. And told us about the process and took down our address. He said the company looks at the house via satellite and can give you exact measurements and cost. We thought cool and waited for the call back. A week later I called back and a different guy said I needed to come in to schedule an onsite estimate. If the estimate is free, why do I need to come on? I told him about the first experience and he when I mentioned the satellite thing he said "that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard". He then questioned how many other places I called - which was none. I described what the guy looked like, just so there would be some accountability. His response was " Look I've got a store full of people, so I don't have time to go thru this with you". Excuse me, I'm trying to solicit your business?! Again I provided my address and supposedly someone was going to call me to schedule coming out. That was a week ago and so far nothing. Leslie's will never get my business. read more

Leslie's is a dud. They often sell you items you don't need and don't honor their word. I always go back because they are nearby and usually have what I need but honestly I self diagnose before dealing with them. I was there the other day to ask advice about installing a motor for my pump and fortunately the guy who serviced me was able to help me find the right one for my pool. Unfortunately he told me I would need a specific part but I would need to bring the new motor in so he could see it to determine which part I needed. He tried to sell me a motor through Leslie's at a cost 3x what I paid for on amazon but I declined. I asked him before I left if the part was in stock and he assured me it was. Low and behold when I brought the motor in ( which I didn't need to do-remember, he knew which motor I ordered) they did not have the part. I drove to a different Leslie's about 10 miles away to get the part and as it turned out I never needed it! Was all this extra frustration worth it just because I didn't purchase the motor through them? I wanted to call the manager but honestly if that's how they do business I didn't see how that would help. I still may. Don't waste your time with them.
