I purchased a filter screen assembly today for a Polaris pool sweep. The salesperson, Tina G. was great. She got me the part and even lubed the connector for me. When she rang me up she told me that the price of the part was $76.99 and commented that it was a ridiculous price. I agreed but said I needed the part. Got home, installed the part , problem solved. I got thinking about Tina's comment. I checked on line. Amazon's price for the same part is $11.99. I loved the service but hated their price. I ordered the part from Amazon as a spare and will compare the two. I don't know rather it's Polaris or Leslie's who is the culprit? I received AquaChek biguanide test strips 25/pk that will only test 3 things: biguanide, alkalinity and ph. Called to tell them there was an error to which I got the lecture about the restocking fee of $15. Explained the error again. Got transferred a couple of times and asked for the order # . Sent me an e-mail asking for a picture. Immediately sent me an e-mail stating management had reviewed and I got what I ordered. Well, I could buy what I got any place in my local town and online for almost half of what I received. Seems I am stuck paying $19.11 for something I can't use; won't use and is NOT what I ordered. I worked with the Mountain View store for years, it was pretty good when Barbara was there. She was knowledgable and provided me advices based on the scenario of my pool. In my recent visits the experience was VERY BAD. They know nothing about pool, just keeps says 'FOLLOW THE GUIDANCE, FOLLOW THE GUIDANCE'. Moreover, they DON'T LISTEN to me. Without knowing the condition of my pool, how can they GUESS what is right for my pool. The lady even said if I don't buy the things listed on the guidance, she WON'T SELL me anything. DON'T LISTEN TO CUSTOMER DON'T PROVIDE MEANINGFUL ADVICE REFUSE SELLING *AND THE PRICE IN THE STORE IS MUCH HIGHER THAN ON AMAZON* With the above problems, I don't see a reason to buy stuffs from them. I wish I could give 0 stars. This Mountain View location is super close which made it really convenient and the reason why I continued coming here to get my pool chemicals tested regularly. If it's not an in-stock item or something they can order easily like a pool sign, they DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AND WILL NOT HELP YOU. After having my water tested (dozens and dozens of times) I was told everything is fine and all I had to do was dump gallons and gallons of chlorine to get the chemicals balanced. Okay. Done. Next week, same thing. More gallons of chlorine. Next week, same thing. "That's normal because it's summer so the chlorine evaporates fast." Yet in the winter, it still "evaporated quickly." Months later, I take a sample of my water in 2 containers. One to Mountain View Leslie's, which of course they say the same exact thing: "Everything is fine, you just need to add chlorine." Unconvinced, I took the other sample to Cupertino. Turns out there was a lot more wrong than just chlorine. In order to even have the chlorine stay in the pool, I would need to add other chemicals first. Simultaneously, I have a filter and pressure issue with the pool and call for a tech to come diagnose and make a quote. It's through Mountain View Leslie Pool. ETA 2 weeks to get the parts and then I will get a call to schedule it. 2 1/2 weeks, no call. I call, and apparently the grumpy old man has no information from the tech that he ordered parts and can't get in contact with him. He'll call me tomorrow. He doesn't call me the next day, I call him. Same story. I call him every other day for 4 weeks. Still no contact with the tech, no parts ordered because they do not care at all. How in the world can you even run a store like this??? Mountain View Leslie Pool is AWFUL. I will never go back. It's a longer commute to Cupertino, but they will have my business. They actually know what they are doing and have given me REAL HELP and actually care about their customers. read more

Don't waste your time or money on Leslie Pool Service in Mountain View. There is no service. Go to Sterling Pool instead also on El Camino in Mountain View and only a short distance away. We went to this Leslie store to order a new pool sweep hose. A very nice teenage boy first tried to help but didn't have a clue what we needed even though we brought the old hose into the store. Then an older clerk named Cynthia came through the front door probably from a break, and headed for the bathroom. We waited until she finally came to the front of the store but she immediately said they didn't have the hose. I asked if she could check to see if another Leslie's would have it. She grumbled and said that every other Leslie's in the area carried the same stock, so they wouldn't have it either. We drove down the street to Sterling Pool Service where Mr Ye Vang said he could have the part available the next day. Came here to buy some pool filter sand for my tank (called first for prices and inventory). Clerk was helpful no nonsense approach, store seemed well stocked. I've used Leslie's over the years. My biggest disappointment has been their vinyl liner replacement. We were told there'd be one seam; two large pieces joined at the middle. It wasn't obvious the first year, but within a couple years we see there are 5 seams. Five! And they're very visible. What's more, one of the sections is darker than the others. Ugh. We thought this multi-thousand dollar investment was going to last a lot longer than 3 years. Go somewhere else, but if you go with Leslie's, make sure you get their promise in writing. read more

He didn't try to sell me unnecessary chemicals, like other pool supply places in Tucson. Both Brian and Steven are the guys I usually see at the store. Both are knowledgeable and honest. The person who came to do $180 inspection of my pool equipment did not explain anything at all, did not know how to turn my solar heating, did not know how to set up two schedules (one for pump and one for cleaner), tried to sell me $3,000 worth of equipment stating that mine was broken but refused to provide a report in writing what was broken exactly and left. I am in process of reporting Leslie Pool Supplies to the Better Business bureau. I advise to not ever use their services. This store service is non-existent. We brought back a Polaris that they fixed last month after holding the Polaris in the store for over a week. We bought many new parts. Now about 5 weeks later Polaris is not working. We checked the pump and pressure in our pool. Everything is fine. So we brought it back and gave it to Alex, who said this location is short staffed and he would not get to our Polaris today, but would try. He did not only not get to it, (however, he did call to let us know this) but went back to his San Carlos location. When we called Leslies in Mountain view they told us to call Alex. His suggestion was to get our Polaris and bring it to him in San Carlos. What???!!! Now almost a week later, and our Polaris sits in the Mountainview store. There is no one in Mountainvew location trained to fix a Polaris. There is also no manager at this location either!! This is no way to do business!!! I had a great experience here thanks to Gwynne C. She gave me a free water test, told me how to fix the chemicals in my hot tub and answered any questions I had. I was there for over an hour and I had a lot of questions. She was patient, kind and answered all my questions thoroughly. She even taught me how to test the chemicals in my hot tub using the DPD test kit. I left feeling confident knowing how to take care of my hot tub. I want to start this yelp off by saying if you are a pool owner run to Leslie's Pool Supplies NOW and buy a solar pool cover. During this drought we MUST be responsible to do our share to conserve water! We purchased a new pool heater from Leslie's and I have to say that this could have been an unhappy experience due to a "lemon" that was delivered, It turned out to be sweet lemon aid! Our pool tech Jose was amazing in many ways and immediately after the install detected that a defected heater was delivered. A competent tech is definitely who you want and we were lucky to have Jose. Tim, the Store Manager was very understanding as to my disappointment with what was happening. He was able to upgrade the heater, reassure me that I will walk away from this unfortunate and uncommon experience a happy customer and if fact that was the case. After being loyal customers with Leslie's Pools for 26 years we will continue to be and in fact recommend this establishment to others. Kudos to Tim, the store manager for trouble shooting this unusual debacle. Kudos to Jose, the pool technician for your expertise in your field! read more

Let me tell you about my "Leslie Pool" experience. If I could choose a rating of zero I would and here is why. Since moving to Brentwood back in Nov of 2016 I promised my son I would buy him a pool for our new house as a birthday gift when spring/summer time came around. So before I purchased anything I dropped by Leslie's on Lone Tree. They are the professionals right? They should be able to help me decide what size,give me all the necessary info and help me through the process right? WRONG!!! I go in and tell the associate working the counter that Im looking for an above ground pool for my yard. I start asking him questions like which are more durable, rust proof, best sellers etc and some facts as to why. He was unable to answer any of my questions and instead walked me over to the counter pulled up the website and started reading me the differences off the list. CONGRATULATIONS you did exactly what I could have done at home and are completely worthless! He didn't know his product, didn't ask for help, couldn't make a sale and I was highly disappointed so I left. That night I went back home did my own research and purchased a pool from their website on 5/17/17. I ordered the pool, a ladder, a cover and all the other necessary items I would need to get the pool up and running. Their website says the item will arrive in 5-7 business days. WRONG AGAIN! After waiting 10 days I called their customer service line. After waiting for about 20min on hold I finally decided to go with their "leave a message" prompt in hopes of a call back like they promise. Unfortunately 2 days go by with no response. So I decide to call my local store in hopes they could help me, once again they were worthless. Again I call the customer service line and wait for about 30min on hold refusing to leave a message this time. Finally I get ahold of someone. I explain the situation and ask them if they could tell me where my pool is and it's ETA. The guy I spoke to told me he didn't know but they usually ship within 5-7 business days! He doesn't even attempt to look up my purchase and completely blows me off. After getting into a heated argument he finally tells me he will call his wear house directly to see what he can find out. Asking these people to do their damn job is like pulling teeth! So he takes my info and says he'll call me back. You can probably guess that he never did! Being exhausted from chasing these guys around I let me husband handle the rest. He calls and is able to get though and the guy whos helping him says the item hasn't even been shipped yet! Now I work in retail management and I help manage our online store so I understand things happen. However, I do not cut any company slack on communication to their customers. I mean for god sake I just spent over $2,000 on a pool from you guys and you cant take the time to send me a damn e-mail saying my order is going to be late? There is not excuse for that. Then to top it off my husband asks if there is anything they can do for customer appeasement since they were so late. They insult him with a $10 off coupon! How about you guys just get my pool here!? Finally it arrives on 6/14/17. Just encase you were wondering here's a recap of the dates. Purchases on 5/17/17 Ships 6/7/17 Arrives 6/14/17 It took almost an entire month to get here from the date of purchase when the website says 5-7 business days! It's actually kind of comical at this point! So the pools finally here YAY! My husband starts preparing the dirt area making sure it's level and everything and starts putting it together. It take about 2 weeks considering we can only get in about an hour or 2 worth of work per day since we both work full time and have to kids to juggle. So he gets it up goes to get the liner out of the box and guess what??? They didn't put it in the box!!! I go back to my order form and make sure it is supposed to come with the pool and it sure is! At this point I'm furious!!!! Sure I signed for it when it arrived but what was I supposed to do? Rip open all 16 boxes on the pallet tear everything open and make sure all the pieces are there? Ya right who even does that. So Now I'm dealing with how to get my liner, I tried calling the customer service line and the corporate office but I can't get through and once again no call back. My husband went into this store and just purchased a liner so we could finish this damn thing already and I'm going to try to work out a credit on my account when I can finally get ahold of someone. So another recap: -Unhelpful customer service in store -No return call from voicemail -No return call from wear house -Late arrival of pool with no communication -Missing Pieces - WHATS NEXT? not to mention the let down my son experienced. I've been using this store now for 5 years since I put in my pool. The staff here is extremely helpful, special kudo's to Mike for his top notch excellent customer service. They'll test your water for you, give you a reasonable plan to address any issues with water quality, and not leave you with the feeling that they are just trying to sell you a bunch of unnecessary pool chemicals. Highest marks for JC at Leslie's Pool Supplies in Mt. View. The wheel axle of our old Ray-Vac broke and we went to buy a replacement part. JC promptly got us the part and then without a word, proceeded to install the part for us! I totally expected to just pay for the part and leave. Wow! What service! Not only that, after putting the Ray-Vac back together (quite an involved process), he tested to make sure the wheels all turned properly. There was a grinding noise (the gear was slightly worn), so he unscrewed all the pieces again and took great care to make sure everything was put back properly so as not to add more wear to the gear. He was super skilled and knowledgeable, and handled the Ray-vac with such care that it reminded me of a watching a clockmaker at work! My husband and I were so impressed. Had to replace 30 y/o filter (CA Historic Monument). They came out and replaced it but found bad circuit breaker. They could not fix it but showed me how to do it and save $$$. I do not have time to write reviews or to spend time reading reviews on Yelp. However, when I have looked at Yelp I have noted many comments that are very negative because the writer had experienced bad service or received a defective product. Since I have received outstanding service and good products from the local Leslie's swimming pool store, I decided to write a brief report as follows. About 12 years ago, I was in the local Leslie's store and complained that the young helper in the store had sold me the wrong test liquid bottle for the standard testing of my pool water (a big sale of about $2-3). The manger responded saying I probably did not order the correct thing and if I was not happy I could go to a competitive store 3 blocks down the street. As I stated above I do not write reviews, but I also do not spend any time dealing with stupid people. I decided I would never return to that store. Fast forward 12 years to the summer of 2016. I was walking by that store and noticed they had plastic pool covers on sale. I went in and bought one from a different manager, not the one of 12 years prior. He had explained that Leslie's had a pro-rated warranty on the covers and they were very reasonable in exchanging the cover on a pro-rated basis if it develops a problem. I am familiar with plastic products exposed to sunlight and I thought that was a good marketing approach to solve a classic problem. Then in October 2016 my pool filter was failing badly, not sure why, it was only 40 years old. I went to Leslie's and the manager explained they had a sale on new Jacuzzi filters that were far superior to the design of my old filter. However, far more important was the fact the manager had previously operated his own pool service business for many years and was truly knowledgeable about the correct water chemistry required to keep pool water crystal clear. I purchased a new filter and the Leslie's installation department installed it 2 days later. They had been very successful with their sales program and the installation technician had so many installations that he did not arrive until about 3:00 PM. At the request of the store manager he had agreed to stay on-the-job until it was completed. He did finish about 7:30 PM that day and the filter worked perfectly. Truly an above and beyond effort. Now for the most valuable information in this report. Our local Leslie's store in Mountain View, CA is located at: Store #85; 1945 W.
