Upon entering this local business, I was greeted by Robert. He took a look at my pool vacuum identified the problem, had it fixed and I was ready to go in under 5 minutes and it only cost me $40! He went in the back, was gone two minutes, fixed it and said I owe him $400 for a two minute fix and $5 part. I am customer of the Salem,NH store .. however, I am writing my review here and everywhere to get someone to listen to me. First, THE STORE MANAGER in Salem, NH is amazing. I have had several issues since I bought the pool in April 2019. However, this summer my filter has given me so many issues .. Sometimes there is no pressure ( so no vacuum) sometimes low pressure. And.. Every so often the filter sends out. WHITE , GREEN and now Black "stuff "out. With this happening the liner has been stained and is beyond repair. Why spend 4000k on a pool ? When this company will not stand behind the product ? Casey Renyolds district manager came out to my home and tried to remove the stains and never followed up. Now, Regional Vice President, Rob Plaza, thinks I have algae in my pool and wants me to sign off on my warranty ? However, I have not heard back from him since July 20th. should they get one star .. After shopping around (Leslie's, Today's Patio, Shasta, etc.), I decided to go with NPS to purchase & replace my pool pump. NPS has great customer service, knowledgeable staff. All other stores will replace a 3HP variable speed pump for +/-$1050 installed. NPS offers $800 without installation. They recommend a couple pool service companies to do the installation. Mind you, you need "certified" guys to get your three years extended warranty. I bought the pump. Surprisingly, I cannot take the pump home with me. It has to be picked up by a pool company of my choice. So I called one of their recommendations, Majestic Pool, and scheduled a day and time to install my pump. Here is what happens to the missing stars - their recommendation is a horrible experience. Majestic Pool did not write down my address until I called and asked if he was going to show up. While he was installing the pump, he was cursing at the pump (piece of @#$%). Very unprofessional. He threw the pump cover and basket aside as if they were made of none-breakable materials. The way he handles the pool pump made me wonder how he calls himself "certified professional" and charges at a rate of $150 for works done in one hour. NPS needs to stop recommending questionable businesses because it DOES affect the overall integrity of the products and services. I will go to NPS stores for my pool chemicals but I will not trust their recommendations. If I could do it all over again, I would pick a store where they will install the pump for me. read more

My husband has used this store to test the water in our pool and purchase chemicals since they opened at the Tatum/Thunderbird location. Last week our D.E. Filter needed repair so I went with him to this store. The manager is very rude.. started insisting that our filter could NOT be repaired. He kept adamently insisting my husband purchase a very expensive Jacuzzi brand "cartridge filter". Having owned a pool in the past with a cartridge filter, we knew that the product he was attempting to "push" us into purchasing would not give the same quality results as a D.E. filter. I inquired about filter difference on the Leslie's website as well as a few other reputable sites. We felt this manager was pushing that cartridge filter because it was several hundred dollars more than a quality D.E. filter. SHAME ON HIM..... we went elsewhere and not only purchased the new filter but were given same day installation. We will not be darkening the door of Leslie's Pool Supply at Tatum and Thunderbird again. read more

Needed a new diaphragm for a T3 Zodiac. Saw them all over the internet for less than $20. Leslie's has free labor if you buy repair parts. Easy fix. They charged $50 for the part. Avoid Leslie's like the plague. 500% profit margin is a bit high in my book. read more

The service at this store was horrible.We used to shop there all the time and buy all of our pool products from Christoff. Now we have to drive all the way to Fountain Hills store to get the service and expertise from Christoff.The manager(Nick) at this location is rude and and treats customers terrible. Request- Please bring Christoff back to this location. The drive is 50 miles from my house to see him. Not only is he polite and helpful he really helps solve your pool problems. My friends have experienced the same problem at your Thunderbird store. We are a very loyal customer and have purchased products from the day you opened in Arizona. They offer a price match service which ended up saving me nearly $200 on a new Zodiac Pool Sweep. Just take the checkout page from any internet site and they will match the price. It's too bad that "one bad apple" has crashed my review! I LOVE Leslie's. However, there is the most RUDE woman who works at this Leslie's! I have no clue what her name is, but when I took my pool water in to be checked she said, everything looks good but you can't rely on our testing even though the pool looks great! (Then why do they have you bring your pool water in??) She claimed we "most likely" need more chlorine. I told her I use the Leslie's brand pool tabs. She INSISTED I needed another brand and stated, "you really don't know what you need like I do." SERIOUSLY?? But, like a sheep led to slaughter, I purchased the 55 pound container of "magical pool tabs". (She's supposed to be the "trusted" professional, right?) She then looked at me. And said, "I guess now you want me to carry it out to your car?" I told her, "no my son can get it." She looked my son up and down and said, "He's scrawny, I doubt he can even move the bucket." I was SHOCKED! I told her, "No, he does crossfit 2-3 times per week we are good." Her reply was, "If he does crossfit you should ask for your money back!" Talk about a bully!!! It's one thing to be nasty to me for no apparent reason, but to be nasty to my 11 yr old son is going to far! I ended up driving a mile or so to the next Leslie's and PROMPTLY explained what happened. They bent over backwards to make this right and profusely apologized for her and returned the "unnecessary" purchase! If you walk in and see a lady behind the counter, turn around and RUN! Came in for cleaning supplies for my pool and also a new o-ring for my sand pump. The store associate asked me for the name of my pool pump and gave me an o-ring. I went to show him the model and serial number but he stated they are all the same. I got home and went to replace my o-ring to find out I was given the wrong size. Went back to Leslie's and brought my old o-ring with to ensure I get the correct size this time. Same store associate gave the correct one and I was on my way for the 2nd time. Got home and found out I was given the wrong size AGAIN. Went back to that store and out of all 3 employees they could not figure it out, couldn't find the right size. I got flustered and went to the Leslie's location off of Greenway and the store associate got me the correct size in 2 minutes. The associates at the Tatum & Thunderbird location are the reason I will NOT be returning. There is definitely lack of training and lack of common sense. read more

BUYER BEWARE.. The worst experience I've ever had at anywhere. The salesman told me he could have a new salt water system installed within 3 days. It never happened. I had to find my own installer. By the time it was installed there was no warranty and it did not work. He also stated he would take back any parts we did not use. Took back the extra parts within 30 days. It never happened. Kim is a superstar at this store. I had a salt cell that I took in because it didn't seem to be working. After Kim tested it, she found that it indeed had failed. I had purchased this 1-1/2 years ago from there and it had a three-year warranty. Kim said she needed to check with her boss on what to do next and would get back to me. I got impatient and called the next day. Kim gave me the option of either getting a 'replacement' salt cell with a 1 year warranty (which they would have to order) or to pay a minimal amount and get a new salt cell (which they did have in stock) with a 4-year warranty. I told her I would rather get a new salt cell so brought in the old one and expected to pay approximately $100. Through some wizardry that Kim did, I left the store with a new salt cell and without paying anything. I would recommend this store, and Kim, highly! read more

I'll never set foot in a Leslie's again. They are there to sell you chemicals and to boost their bottom line. That's it. Their staff, while friendly for the most part, is incompetent. They test your water, but I don't believe they do that accurately either. I've spent hundreds of dollars on chemicals this summer to "fix" my pool, as I was told on numerous occasions it was too hot to drain my pebble tech pool. After trying their BioActive product (which is a farce and doesn't work), as well as buying other things such as Phos Free, shock, and everything else you can think of, my pool turned green. Well, I gave up, hired a pool guy last week who advised differently. He drained my pool, washed it, and we are swimming less than a week later. I wasted half my summer not swimming because I listened to Leslie's. Never again. read more
