We've been to The Floridian multiple times, and somehow we keep ending up back there... which probably says everything you need to know. This time we went again and one of our friends decided to treat us (the best kind of friend). I ordered the classic Eggs Benedict, and my boyfriend got the Floridian 222. Everything looked amazing when it came out--one of those tables where you're secretly eyeing everyone else's plate too. The only tiny critique I'd give is that the Benedict eggs tend to be a little overcooked for my taste, but honestly it's been pretty consistent and still very good. The service is always nice, the staff are friendly, and the vibe on Las Olas is great--perfect people-watching and a fun atmosphere. Overall it's one of those reliable spots we keep coming back to. New ownership back in 2023 perked up and cleaned up The Floridian without losing any of it's charm. We had brunch there today with some having lunch and others having breakfast and it all was good! One in my party had the Nathans footlong hot dog which could have easily served 2 people! The 222 special gave you two eggs, 2 pieces of bacon or ham and 2 pancakes or french toast for $13.50. This place is very historical/nostalgic, if you want to sit inside, there are long tables with office chairs, which are very fun. There's a lot of outdoor seating as well. Typical diner food, but not diner prices. It wasnt BAD, but definitely did not WOW/inspire us. The home fries were not crispy, maybe boiled potatoes with some seasoning not sure. The greek omelet had black canned olives as opposed to kalamata olives. Little things for improvement, overall a solid FTL classic for diner food though. read more

Please believe the reviews. I'm only writing this because I read the reviews & proceeded to scoff and say it can't be THAT bad. IT IS. Don't do it. At this point, everyone needs to boycott this place to force them to shut down, reinvent themselves, and come back ready to be a restaurant. The food sucks: I ordered a "salmon burger " & they literally put a low quality piece of frozen salmon between two buns. A salmon burger is ground salmon seasoned & grilled to perfection. And I didn't need to go to culinary school to figure that out. They are unaccommodating. My mom wanted the French toast special with the croissant French toast. They had NO idea how they could possibly do this, so they made her pay for every item ala carte. They don't train their waitstaff. Newsflash: if my waitress has never had any of your food, why would I want it? The grits tasted like water. Don't serve grits if you don't know how to make them the southern way. Parking is miserable. There is not one redeeming quality about this restaurant, except being able to people watch on the side walk. read more

We were visiting the Fort Lauderdale area again and decided to go back to the Floridian for lunch. I was reading a lot of the reviews and saw mostly negative. I know the last time we ate here we about 2 years ago we had zero issues. We decided to try it again anyway and so glad we did. Just as added note; we arrived here at 1pm for lunch on a Saturday. Yes parking was terrible but what's new for this area! I ordered the Grilled Cheese Burger with a salad as my side. * The burger was a 1/2 LB burger cooked to perfection between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches used as buns, One with Bacon, one with Tomato. You'll Need Both Hands to Devour This Monstrous Burger. Yes this burger was huge! I was only able to eat a quarter of it and took the rest home. This burger was really good and cooked just right! Also loved how they grilled it. I'm so glad I ordered this because it was delicious! My wife ordered the Bleu Grilled Chicken Sandwich with a side salad. She said it was delicious as well. I have ordered takeout from here several times and usually order the Greek omelette with home fries and wheat toast. The omelette is usually good but can be inconsistent. I once received it undercooked and still liquidy but at other times it's great! The home fries are also inconsistent and sometimes undercooked and underseasoned. The service matches the food in that, when placing a takeout order, sometimes they pick up right away and other times no one picks up at all! Many times, we've had to hang up and try calling again later. Overall, food and service is often good but inconsistent and there is definitely room for improvement. read more

Didn't even get my drink order until 10 mins in. Didn't get my food order until 20 mins in. Didn't provide silverware or straws until i asked a second time for both items. Food comes out. While out enjoying a night on the town in Fort Lauderdale, we decided to grab a bite to eat after hanging at the local bars. This was one a few restaurants open at the wee hours of the night, so we chose to check it out. I thought it was going to be decent because there was a lot of traffic coming through the restaurant. The menu seemed to have enough variety. We had a group of about 12 people. We were sat immediately, which was nice. The only pro of this place is that it was open when we needed it to be, which was very late, actually early in the morning. The food was just OK at best. The syrup for our pancakes was full is ants. This totally put me off. I couldn't finish my meal. I will obviously not be going back here and would warn to try then at your own risk. read more

I have been by The Floridian a few times over the past year and mostly late night so I understood the servers were tired and it was late so didn't expect much. To stop by at 8:30pm and be dealt with the same "we literally don't care if you are here or not" attitude is a tough pill to swallow. The Floridian has such good memories for me from 2008 for breakfast, lunch and dinner - even if it was crazy busy which it has never been lately (max 4 tables) you felt the servers cared and were aware of you. I was a complete inconvenience to my server who looked exhausted - the Chefs coming through for sodas had more energy. My "warm" welcome was yelling from across the room... how can i help you... do you mind if I sit down first? I feel bad for the server that I am writing this review but he was way more worried about his phone than ANYTHING going on in the restaurant... I am not sure if he was the same late night person the last time i was there but it was the same thing.. just get the order in.. bare minimum service so I can get back to my phone... The Floridian is definitely one of my favorite food places of all time! It's located along Las Olas Blvd in Ft. Lauderdale, in the less busier part. It's open 24/7 serving all your favorite diner items. You get in or stay at the patio, find a table, and right away the friendly and attentive staff will come and give you their extensive menu of food and drinks options. We went there for breakfast and glad we did. The crab omelette was delicious and so was the salmon and eggs with bagel. They make sure to fill your water and coffee cups up as well. The place has a very casual vibe and has all these interesting pictures all over their walls. It's a huge place so it's perfect for groups or families. They have clean tables, floor, utensils, and so is their restroom. There's free wifi so bring in your gadgets, and, it's also pet friendly so you can bring in your furry best friends. There's also plenty of free parking space at the back of the restaurant. It was great to fill our bellies and to see two lovely elderly ladies taking orders, delivering food, and chatting with customers with big big smiles on their face. read more

I was in Fort Lauderdale on a business trip and I had a free afternoon. I had visited the Floridian many years ago and I wanted to visit again to see if I enjoyed it as much as I did back then. The answer was no. Maybe my memory is not what it used to be. The restaurant is an old school diner with lots of memorabilia on the walls and the place is dimly lit. I got the same dish which is called "The Mess" which has a little bit of everything in it. It was dry and kind of bland. I don't know if it needed more cheese, or salsa, or gravy, or something. It wasn't bad. It was just OK. The service was good and the prices were hard to argue with. Give it a try. read more

They dumped them both in the same bowl. 2 very different flavor profiles all floating in one bowl. The clam was cold so sent it back. I had a disappointing experience at The Floridian, despite its charming facade. Upon entering, we were left to seat ourselves and had to search for menus scattered around the unkempt restaurant. The cleanliness was lacking, with filthy dishes and silverware adding to the unpleasant atmosphere. To make matters worse, our hot dogs arrived cold and were inexplicably served on sandwich hoagies instead of traditional hot dog buns which naturally made them insanely difficult to eat. They got soggy, there was WAY too much bread and not enough hot dog. If I'd known they didn't have hot dog buns, I would've just ordered something else. Overall, the neglect of basic service standards and hygiene greatly detracted from what could have been a pleasant dining experience. This place has potential, but it needs an entirely new staff and someone needs to do a closer inspection on the cleanliness of this establishment because I'm not sure how it's even in business. We ordered the conch fritters... not hot, hard, nasty and nothing like a Florida conch...straight trash. Then we ordered a banana shake and the steak sandwich with fries. The banana shake came out and was superrrr watered down. The steak sandwich and fries were ice cold. We didn't even take a bite of the sandwich it was cold to the touch. We both ate a dry and looked at each other with disgust... also cold. Told the waitress the food is DISGUSTING, we don't want it and to just give us the bill for the cold fritters, shit shake and soda. This isn't just another diner in Ft Lauderdale it's a nice place to go for some diner food with a view. We sat outside and took in the people watching which was all good. I have been looking for some country fried steak and definitely got it along with a full belly. Our little one Weego went with us and barked about the perfect bacon. One thing that really stood out was the service, accommodating with smiles and attentiveness. I wish I could remember her name but she should train people in the service industry. First let me say that our waitress Sam was wonderful. Friendly and engaging she made us feel completely welcome. The place was pretty empty with only one other table of ladies. Lots of pictures of celebrities lining the walls, but I doubt they all ate at the Floridian Diner. Started with a bowl of chili with cheese. Hideous, absolutely hideous. Basically a bowl of dog food with a little bit of cheese melted on top. I couldn't get more than a few spoons in before giving up. Thinking this wasn't gonna be a good meal I went with a quintessential diner order; breakfast. I asked for a ham and cheese omelette and was advised that I could have three items. so I asked for double cheese and ham. Went with the home fries and a biscuit with sausage gravy. The omelette was big and fluffy and there was ham, but barely a bit of cheese in the whole thing. No flavor, just a pile of scrambled eggs and some ham bits. The biscuit was as dry as a desert and the sausage gravy was reminiscent of toxic sludge. Straight out of a can and I promise you can even taste the tin can it came out of. The only tolerable thing on my plate was the potatoes. Even the coffee was horrid. I can't ever think there is anything that would get me to ever eat there again, but reality is I didn't even eat their tonight, because there wasn't a thing I was served that I could keep down or finish.
