Nathans foot long dog with onions and chili
    Carol K.

New ownership back in 2023 perked up and cleaned up The Floridian without losing any of it's charm. We had brunch there today with some having lunch and others having breakfast and it all was good! One in my party had the Nathans footlong hot dog which could have easily served 2 people! The 222 special gave you two eggs, 2 pieces of bacon or ham and 2 pancakes or french toast for $13.50. I will definitely get this on my next visit! Service was spot on too! Nothing fancy but a nice place to have in the neighborhood that's been serving food since before I was alive!

I came here yesterday for the first time with my two children. They had the pancakes which were absolutely delicious. I had the French toast which was out of this world. Absolutely delicious. GREAT SERVICE TOO

As a FTL native, have been coming to the Floridian Restaurant since I've been alive. This place is very historical/nostalgic, if you want to sit inside, there are long tables with office chairs, which are very fun. There's a lot of outdoor seating as well. Typical diner food, but not diner prices. It wasnt BAD, but definitely did not WOW/inspire us. The home fries were not crispy, maybe boiled potatoes with some seasoning not sure. The greek omelet had black canned olives as opposed to kalamata olives. Little things for improvement, overall a solid FTL classic for diner food though.

Old school ambiance meets delicious diner. Come by at any hour and you can snaga hot meal, a cup O Joe, and chill. Between the excellent customer service and the spot on eggs Benedict, I'm hooked. My steak was seasoned and cooked to a perfect med-rare, and the eggs were fluffy, gooey, and flavorful. Seriously one of the best eggs Benedict I've ever had. Swing in and give this place a try! And don't worry, they're 24/7, so you're always welcome.

Please believe the reviews. I'm only writing this because I read the reviews & proceeded to scoff and say it can't be THAT bad. IT IS. Don't do it. At this point, everyone needs to boycott this place to force them to shut down, reinvent themselves, and come back ready to be a restaurant. The food sucks: I ordered a "salmon burger " & they literally put a low quality piece of frozen salmon between two buns. A salmon burger is ground salmon seasoned & grilled to perfection. And I didn't need to go to culinary school to figure that out. They are unaccommodating. My mom wanted the French toast special with the croissant French toast. They had NO idea how they could possibly do this, so they made her pay for every item ala carte. They don't train their waitstaff. Newsflash: if my waitress has never had any of your food, why would I want it? The grits tasted like water. Don't serve grits if you don't know how to make them the southern way. Parking is miserable. There is not one redeeming quality about this restaurant, except being able to people watch on the side walk.

We were visiting the Fort Lauderdale area again and decided to go back to the Floridian for lunch. I was reading a lot of the reviews and saw mostly negative. I know the last time we ate here we about 2 years ago we had zero issues. We decided to try it again anyway and so glad we did. Just as added note; we arrived here at 1pm for lunch on a Saturday. Yes parking was terrible but what's new for this area! I ordered the Grilled Cheese Burger with a salad as my side. * The burger was a 1/2 LB burger cooked to perfection between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches used as buns, One with Bacon, one with Tomato. You'll Need Both Hands to Devour This Monstrous Burger. Yes this burger was huge! I was only able to eat a quarter of it and took the rest home. This burger was really good and cooked just right! Also loved how they grilled it. I'm so glad I ordered this because it was delicious! My wife ordered the Bleu Grilled Chicken Sandwich with a side salad. She said it was delicious as well. She couldn't eat all of it and took half of it home. Our waiter was spot on and did a great job taking care of us. The restaurant was also clean. We still recommend The Floridian!

    Greek omelette with home fries

I have ordered takeout from here several times and usually order the Greek omelette with home fries and wheat toast. The omelette is usually good but can be inconsistent. I once received it undercooked and still liquidy but at other times it's great! The home fries are also inconsistent and sometimes undercooked and underseasoned. The service matches the food in that, when placing a takeout order, sometimes they pick up right away and other times no one picks up at all! Many times, we've had to hang up and try calling again later. Overall, food and service is often good but inconsistent and there is definitely room for improvement.

We were so glad to find this place open on Christmas Day! It's not easy to find restaurants open during the holiday, but this diner was a great surprise. The food is affordable but still really good quality -- classic American diner comfort food done right. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was friendly, quick, and well-organized. Warm atmosphere, generous portions, and great value for the price. We'll definitely come back! Highly recommend if you're looking for a solid, budget-friendly spot.

This place is an abomination. Had a group of 8. I arrived 7 mins after everyone else. Waitress put in everyone's orders and walked away after i joined. Didn't even get my drink order until 10 mins in. Didn't get my food order until 20 mins in. Didn't provide silverware or straws until i asked a second time for both items. Food comes out. I ordered eggs benedict and the egg was fully cooked. I sent it back. Terrible service and terrible food. This place needs to be shut down so a real restaurant can take over.

While out enjoying a night on the town in Fort Lauderdale, we decided to grab a bite to eat after hanging at the local bars. This was one a few restaurants open at the wee hours of the night, so we chose to check it out. I thought it was going to be decent because there was a lot of traffic coming through the restaurant. The menu seemed to have enough variety. We had a group of about 12 people. We were sat immediately, which was nice. The only pro of this place is that it was open when we needed it to be, which was very late, actually early in the morning. The food was just OK at best. The syrup for our pancakes was full is ants. This totally put me off. I couldn't finish my meal. I will obviously not be going back here and would warn to try then at your own risk.

First time here. Placed a pick up order. Was in and out had my food hot and ready at the front. If you're craving nostalgic dinner food this is the place! Everything was incredible! Definitely will be back.

The service was good but the food not so much. Even my corned beef hash had a weird taste and texture to it. The potatoes are so unseasoned even though they look like they're going to be. Half of them was hard some of them were mushy no amount of salt or ketchup you put on it helped. It's at a nice location, you have the option of indoor or outdoor seating.

I love when brunch restaurants offer alternatives to bacon/sausage! Their hot chocolate is tasty as well! Hatch lost a star, due to having a loose dress code. The last time I was there, some customers were practically naked. I can understand someone wearing a bikini with a see through cover-up, if ur at a beach-side restaurant. Hatch is not on the beach. Also, do u really want to sit down on a chair where someone's literal butt cheeks were just touching? Sorry, not sorry. Men keep ur shirts on & underwear covered. You're forced to pay for poor service, and in this case service the curly-haired young man, was very poor. The food itself was good, nothing wowing, but expectations met, and that alone is appreciated Try the hash, the Hubby enjoyed. I asked for my coffee to be EXTRA hot, it came out lukewarm, and that's bc it sat on the counter waiting for our server to bring it to us. He was no where to be found to voice my concern. We had to ask for several things a few times, and we never received refills on water. I asked to keep a menu to order an extra drink or cocktail but was never able to bc the server was no where to be found! He never came by to ask how we were, but he spent at least 7 minutes chitchatting with the table behind us stating how he "remembers them", and will try to "remember your orders for next time bc you come here a lot". Imagine if he offered services like that to ALL the guest? Well, enough was enough, and I was ready to leave. Guess who appeared with the bill and WOULD NOT LEAVE OUR TABLE-SIDE bc he was seriously focused on the amount of the "extra" tip my Hubby was going to leave. He didn't bother to clear any of the dirty dishes from our table, and never asked about ordering anything else even after picking up the menu I'd asked him to leave earlier. He was focused on my Hubby completing the payment. That's when I spoke up and said looking directly at the server, "a gratuity is automatically included, so do not leave an extra tip bc the service did not deserve the gratuity he's already getting". The young man looked at me shocked but didn't say anything. The food was okay but the service reduced any possible of a better rating.

The line was insanely long, but we got lucky and snagged seats at the bar as soon as a group left. My friends ordered the hash and omelet, and we also shared the dulce de leche pancakes. Everything was delicious. The beautiful waterfront views made the experience even better. My only advice is to come prepared for a wait, because this place is clearly popular for a reason!

As titanium Marriott bonvoy members, we received a breakfast voucher each morning of our stay, which is good for your choice of coffee or orange juice and an entree from a select menu (see pics). I found the select menu to have many great options. I had the "smothered burrito" which was huge and delicious and did not have any beans. The "traditional eggs Benedict" was typical and came with a large portion of their potatoes- yum. The "huevos rancheros" was great too but I wished it had those potatoes. My husband had the "applewood bacon and poached egg avocado toast" twice because it was so good. We ordered two additional eggs sunny to go with it, as that dish only had one poached egg. He also got the "two eggs your way" which comes with choice of protein, potatoes and two slices of sourdough toast w butter (no jam). He ordered bacon egg and cheese taco with that dish to maximize his protein intake. That was tasty. Everything we ate here was a good portion. I saw the regular menu. Dishes are about $16. The pancakes looked awesome- maybe we will get that next time. Pancakes would pair well with the hash- it looks like a huge dish. They have a breakfast cocktail menu. I had the bloody Maria (nothing special but it said house made bloody mix so I wanted to try it), which came with a celery stick. I think next time I'll do the coffee inspired cocktails. Those sound amazing. We ate inside because the wind was crazy like 25mph. We ate outside one day, when the wind wasn't as bad, and found that there are some pesky birds trying to steal food off of server trays. So if you don't want the birds, sit inside. The place gets busy; you can make a reservation. We never had to wait in line long or wait for a table, but I think that's because we're hotel guests. Once sat, we did wait more than 20 min to receive our food. But it's ok. The coffee is good. The restaurant turns into Lona for lunch and dinner. They give you the Lona drink menu for breakfast too if you're more in the mood for a margarita. Bar seating is first come first served. Bathrooms are inside the hotel lobby. There is no parking for the restaurant but you can valet.
