As a major pineapple fan, I understand it's more traditional to add that with al pastor but I add it onto my carne asada tacos and it is so yummy. Their pineapple is freshly cut right in front of you and is my favorite aspect of this vendor as I know not all vendors have it. Lastly, let's be clear that not all horchata is created equally but El Primo has superior horchata. The amount of milkiness and cinnamon is absolute perfection as I've had some watery horchatas in the past, so make sure you grab yourself a horchata while you're here. As someone who lives in the valley, despite recently discovering this spot a few weeks ago I find myself driving out to Venice a lot lately just for these tacos because they are just THAT GOOD and also very cheap. They're open only Friday and Saturday nights, as the chef's main job is grilling those fine burgers at Hinano Cafe. Parking is easy in the lot behind the building where they set up. The seafood items are very good. They're grilled or deep fried to order in front of you. They can put together a nice Ensenada-style fish taco for you, with a good light beer batter. I prefer the grilled shrimp and calamari tacos. The cheesy shrimp burrito is another delicious item. They have pollo and asada for non-seafood proteins, and offer a surf 'n turf burrito if you like. No pastor trompo or cazo of carnitas or suadero here; you're here for the seafood, anyway. Service is excellent, the staff are super friendly.
