Okay, so this little place is freaking awesome! First of all you barely know the place is there when you drive by it's called lettuce cook but it's a play on words for Let us cook lol. When you go in it's got some cool funky decor in a comfortable feel, they have a grill countertop and a display case right up front and display fresh Smoked Meats and delicious desserts. On the wall behind you there are several coolers containing different food, mostly pre-made meals that have been put together enter for sale to take home and warm up, for example lemon herb chicken breast with French style green beans and baby roasted potatoes. They also have a to order sandwich menu with some really good options on it, I had the Waterloo sandwich which is their version of a French dip, the roast beef was very fresh and tender in the torta bread they put this on was very good I really like this sandwich but there are many on the menu that sound great I have not tried. We also have an awesome breakfast menu and signs in the restaurant that offer to cater to people's personal diets such as keto or paleo which is pretty cool. After it became clear I had no clue what to order the woman at the register went through the menu with me. They have great looking sandwiches and a large cold case of prepared foods you can grab. Me and my boyfriend stopped here after driving past it so many times, first the employee there was incredibly sweet and nice. She talked with my baby and held him a little while while i was looking over the menu. I eventually settled on the Davy Crockett but add artichoke hearts to it and it was supposed to come with a salad and my boyfriend got the french dip that was supposed to come with cole slaw. They brought out the wrong sandwich with sun dried tomatoes spinach artichoke hearts and pesto sauce. i'm not incredibly picky but i hatttteeee sun dried tomatoes so i told the worker and she said it was no problem she'd fix it in 30 seconds. Almost 30 minutes later and still nothing. there was another couple that walked in about 5 minutes after we did that STILL hadn't gotten their food and when they brought out their food maybe 5 minutes later they had also gotten her sandwich wrong too. she decided to get a refund and left. at this point it's been 45 minutes since i was supposed to get my fixed sandwich. when my boyfriend asked them about it they brought out the SAME SANDWHICH they brought me earlier And just put a salmon patty on it. I decided i was really hungry and spent almost $30 on this meal so i tried it after picking the sun dried tomatoes off and the bread was soggy and falling apart the pesto sauce wasn't too terribly good and the salmon patty just fell apart and was burnt on the outside and not cooked on the inside. i was just pissed because the people were so nice but the service was such crap. and it's extremely expensive for how small and not well made it is. the salad and the cole slaw was seriously just one scoop in the corner of the tray and my boyfriends sandwhich had absolutely no flavor and was also cold. he asked the worker twice about an oreo cheesecake we also ordered and she said twice she would go to get it and both times she got distracted and left us waiting another 10 minutes. we ended up just leaving spending way too much money for food that wasn't worth it and missing food. read more

The baked goods are fresh-made and sooo delicious. I have a ginormous teenage son with a huge appetite for whom a single entree is never enough. Their chicken spaghetti was the first thing he has ordered in YEARS that filled him up. Try the pimento cheese...I dare you. If you're not an addict two tablespoons in, I'll eat my hat. I've lived in the south a long time, but their Davy Croquette is the best darn salmon sandwich I've ever had. Ever. (And they were happy to substitute a bed of greens when I was avoiding gluten.) I am reposting this. Friday the owner messaged me regarding this post stating she was sorry for our experience and negative posts hurt her business and to please call her personal number to discuss. As a small business owner I understood. I was going to respond stating I would delete the review but still never return. Before I sent the response or wrote her number down I deleted the review which deleted her response. I tried calling the restaurant 3 times; it just rang each time. I sent an email to the address indicated on the website; it got bounced back. How does a small business expect to grow if the customer is unable to reach someone. Got two meals to go. Grab cakes and salad. First we paid $18 a meal. It was the smallest two crab cakes with a tiny amount of salad. Their were many shells in both crab cakes meals. Could barely eat them. The salad description on the menu was kale we were told by an employee it was spinach and when we got home it was arugula with a tiny amount of dressing and one very lonely tomato. read more

A wonderful gem on White Settlement in the up and coming River District. The set up is a cafe style/deli with some ready made gourmet meals for takeaway. In their display case, I see dolmas, pimento salad, their house chicken salad, and a kale salad of some kind. The chalkboard menu is divided into categories of salads, sammies, soups, grilled items, and a blue plate special of the day. I ordered the Funkytown sandwich which is layered with smoked brisket and liberally sauced with what I assume is a house made BBQ sauce, red onions, and encased in a buttery onion roll. MERCY! It was the best BBQ sandwich ever made in Ft Worth and that's saying something! Finished the meal with a mini strawberry rhubarb pie with fresh whipped cream. A couple of days later we returned. Same friendly people and the food: Wow. Wow. Wow. I ordered the sweet porky sandwich and my husband ordered the pollo Sanchez quesadilla. I didn't get to take a picture of his. But mine was delicious!!! That's an understatement too. The bun was soft and yet was able to soak up a lot of the sauce from the pork which was definitely sweet barbecue topped with chop pickles. Yum-tastic!!! The quesadilla was just right. The next day, dropped in for a salmon filet and blackberry tart to round out my dinner, both of which were great.
