I live nearby so stop in fairly often. Never had a bad experience until this time. Ordered my usual which is their French dip sandwich. The sandwich arrived without being cut in two so I had do it myself. The roast beef evidently had been recently thawed because the center of the sandwich was ice cold. I told the young lady who was working the counter when she delivered an order to the nearby table. No apology or offer to do anything, just "I'll tell the cook." Also it was distressing to see that the female cook with long, free flying hair had on no hair restraint of any kind. I must admit that I closely inspected my order for wayward hairs before taking the first bite. Fortunately their were none. read more

My wife was out of town babysitting grandbabies and I was craving a real gourmet deli-style sandwich. Found it.....thank you Yelp. The place is Lettuce Cook, 5101 White Settlement Blvd., in the up and coming River View District, right across from Salsa Limon. Far from a formula chain sandwich place, Lettuce Cook is owned and run by someone who really cares about food and the patrons who eat his food. Although unobstrusive from the street, walk inside for a glimpse and taste of a unique, one of a kind, establishment with a fun vibe. Hey, they serve breakfast all day from opening til closing....and that is a good thing. But they also offer a selection of delicious sandwiches. Mine (roasted turkey with caramelized onion) was over the top delicious and huge. I ate it too fast to capture a photo but I'll try to restrain myself next time. It also came with a side of salad or cole slaw and I had the cole slaw which was kicked up a notch with tangy spice. I also added some dolmas which I notice in the display cabinet next to some enticing deviled eggs. For a beverage I chose Hybiscus Tea. They have a large container of unsweet or Hybiscus out in the dining area for self-refills....nice touch. Lettuce Cook also provides a selection of foods to go......daily fish choices like Halibut, Salmon or Mahi Mahi, Chicken breast and other selections that change every few days. Each day from 11 until 2:00 (or until they run out) they offer a "Blue Plate Special". I fell in love with the concept. The owner/chef has trained and worked in top quality restaurants and now has chosen to offer exactly what he wants in order to please his clientele. We made a large corporate order few weeks ago and food was mislabeled and when we called for assistance, there was none to be had. Staff called us liars and made us pay for extra sandwiches. Figured ok, no big loss. Won't use them again. Lo and behold the manager called today and verbally abused the person that was unlucky enough to order from them in the first place. He threatened to go to owner of our company to complain about us for honestly, rudeness, uh huh. We were blamed of being rude yet the manager called us 3 weeks later to berate us for their mistakes. We are so very confused. We have the call recorded for anyone that would like to hear it. Truly the worst customer follow up/lack of service we've ever encountered. Todd Brown has been cooking all over FW for years and he found this neighborhood before all the developers did, so I am late to the party, but what a great place to eat! Simple and healthy food made with fresh ingredients daily. Great staff and, even more important, awesome vibe! Reminds me of my old days in Austin growing up and the cool spots they had before the rest of the world discovered them. I walked in and the clerk at the front desk was very welcoming and personable. He gave me a run down of how things work and suggested a few items. I took a look around at some of the prep and go meals which looked good but opted for a sandwich with a side salad instead. The food was delicious, there was a hefty portion of chicken on my sub which was a nice surprise, and I like how they give you your condiments on the side for you to put as much or as little and you want. Came in after running 5 miles this afternoon, so needless to say I was starving.... Loved the ambiance of the inside it was very modern and hipster!!! Kat recommended one of their daily features which included hickory smoked brisket over homemade Cole Slaw which was perfect cause im trying to not eat a lot of bread... everything from the BBQ sauce on the brisket to the glaze of the cole slaw paired wonderfully... This place is great. It's a very cute, unique little place in a very cool part of town and the food is awesome and fresh. My fiance and I have heard great things about Lettuce Cook as a caterer for our wedding. We first approached them in March 2017 and they gave us a folder with some food options. After my fiance and I talked to other caterers we found that we really liked Lettuce Cook. We called and set up a meeting in May to narrow down our food options. My fiance and I narrowed it down to beef options for our wedding. We left our meeting feeling great. Natalie told us that she would put together a menu and send it to us by the weekend. The weekend comes around and we hadn't heard anything from Natalie, then a week passes and Natalie finally texts us and tells us that she's swamped and we totally understood. A week goes by and we didn't get an email with a menu/quote. It was then that we decided to text Natalie and ask if we had given her the wrong email and that's why we hadn't heard from her. Natalie texts back and asks for our email again. Then 3-4 days later we get an email from Natalie and she attached the same menus that we were given in back in March and it seemed like our meeting in May was not helpful. Even though my fiance and I were frustrated, we decided to be understanding. We emailed back and made our choices specific on June 16. Then we didn't hear back from Natalie until July 15. There were some emails in between the month: the email was lost in others, a fire. However, Natalie would tell us that she would get to us by a certain date and we would not hear back. Our quote that was given on July 15 is still incomplete (rentals was not given after she said that she would get it) after almost 2 months. We have still not received a rental quote after we have called and expressed that this unacceptable and that if they give a timeline, then we were expecting to hear back from them according to the timeline they gave us. We really wanted this to work out, but it seems like we will have to start at square one again. read more

Customer service was not friendly or welcoming as soon as I stepped in. The guy at the check out called me a ma am and I am a guy. Got the hint that they are not LGBt friendly. Plus, they don't have any Vegan options but promote a vegan smoothie. Of course I make it work with the limitations on the menu. Would not return here and would hit up other place. Hot summer day and a beautifully simple, healthy lunch. Was with a buddy on the west side and had heard about this place so we ran by. Easy in/out. No hassle parking or seating. Pay at the counter and menu is on a sandwich board behind counter. Everyone was kind and friendly. Paid and picked up a bottled water and sat at a big four top. Lunch came quickly. I had the kale salad with salmon. Dried cranberries, pepitas and coconut shavings gave it texture. It was already dressed with a vinaigrette that was great. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Buddy got a turkey sandwich. Warm fresh toasted sourdough and piled high with toppings. Whole experience didn't take 20 minutes.
