I have been going to Letys on Chestnut for years it's a family run business the food and service has always been good!

Ordered dinner here through door dash delivery. I ordered one super burrito carne asada, 2 asada tacos, and an enchilada plate which came with rice and beans. Once my order was placed I tacked my order through the door dash app and it showed that my food was ready and picked up 15 mins after I had placed my order. The guy arrived at my door step to deliver my food 10 mins later. The food was nice and warm. The enchilada sauce spilled on the bag but that was fine, accidents happen. I noticed that the super burrito was huge, I like that fact that the outside of the tortilla was grilled, it had a nice crunch to it. There was only alittle bit of meat and a butt load of beans but the flavors were there and it was very filling. The asada tacos were good, the meat was seasoned well and not dry I really enjoyed the tacos, could use a tad bit more of the cilantro and cabbage toppings but it was still good. The enchilada plate was tasty. The read sauce wasn't spicy the ground meat inside was good, the rice was made perfectly and nothing special about the beans. My order came fast, warm and my order was correct. Overall it as a good dinner. read more

Ordered x2 Lengua tacos and Albondigas. First thing I tried was a taco. The Lengua is diced such that every piece is about the same size and shape (slightly too big), it's thrown into a tortilla and covered with a bit of shredded lettuce. It's remarkably hard and chewy, especially for what Lengua is. Is this actually lengua? How long has it been sitting around? It's also quite dry. It has the plating finesse and appeal, and overall impression, of something borne of an elementary school cafeteria. That being said, it somehow is pretty darn tasty, even if the consistency and texture is remarkably off. So off, that on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it a 1 for those factors. But, still tasty. The Albondigas does not have this saving grace of being tasty. It is watery and vegetal... It's just, quite less appealing than Albondigas I've had from other places. I'll probably end up dumping salsa and hot sauce into it and eating it tomorrow. Overall: thankfully I enjoyed the tacos when covered with salsa; the flavor was enjoyable though everything else (consistency, texture, moisture) was terribly off. The Albondigas is remarkably disappointing. Super watery. Throw some spices in! Hard pass on this place. Can't think of any Mexican food I've had (from a restaurant) that was worse, or even equal, to this food. It has all been better. read more

Waitress was inattentive but the food was excellent. Chips and salsa are plentiful and no charge. Chili Colorado did not disappoint. The Chili Verde was as good as we remembered too. Have four stars only because the waitress was too busy to fill our glasses, bring our check or ask if the meal was satisfactory. Not their usual level of service by far. So glad they turned the music down since our last visit. Been going there for years. Since they opened the bar part, we quit going because the music was soooo loud. Lety's is just what the other reviews claim it is. A small family run restaurant with awesome food and great service. It reminds me of coming to one of your family member's house for a home cooked meal. Based on my one experience, I could easily eat here a few times a week if I wanted to splurge on Mexican food. The salsa was slightly more tomato based than I like, but it was okay. The food is fresh, rich in flavor and just hits the spot. The meal that I had was the lengua plate which is sliced lengua in a red sauce with peppers. It was so delicious. It reminded me of the way my late mother used to cook it. The other diners enjoyed their food as well, but I didn't think the pork in the chili verde was as good as it could have been. The meat itself was dry like when you leave something in the crockpot too long. I would return often if I lived in the city. Will come back again when in the area. Portions were good for a lighter eater. I only ate half of my plate and when I reheated it for lunch the next day I enjoyed it all over again. Yum! read more

I have always driven passed this place and never have gone in to eat, but I'm so glad to have found this spot right by my house! Lety's is by far a nice little hidden gem in Fresno, they serve menudo everyday when you're having those cravings, perfect amount of hominy and tripe for you to enjoy with piping hot tortillas. When able to dine in of course there's fresh chips and salsa, their salsa is delicious with a nice little kick. We got to try their fried chicken, it's fried and breaded to perfection. Their rice and beans are to enjoy, normally I pass up on the rice and beans but theirs is amazing. I ordered 4 Adobada Tacos through Door Dash. They came with a generous serving of cilantro and onions on top (which I love) along with red and green salsa on the side. The tacos were still warm when they arrived and they were loaded with a lot of meat. However, when eating I noticed a lot of big chunks of chewy fat that I had to pick out. Needed some crunch to it. Plus, the meat was pretty fatty & gristley. The pozole...this was THE HIGHLIGHT of my order! The flavor was amazing!!! Seriously - SO good! Only complaints were it didnt include cilantro on the side (came with cabbage, onion, and lemon) and they sent corn tortillas. The pork meat in the pozole was clean, and without fat. The consommé was free of the oily slick that appears on other restaurant's pozole. I've read some of the bad reviews for this restaurant just before my own... I can pretty much say that I must have been lucky to not have experienced the treatment, actually the opposite.. The young man was ringing up a customer as I walked in, afterward he politely ask me what I would like to order... I gave him my order and he proceeded to the kitchen as any other waiter/waitress would have done.. The food was fairly quick, so I was a little worried it wasn't gonna be hot.. Rest assure, the food was burning hot still when I got home.. As for the food- yes, my enchiladas was a little on the salty side but I found perfect to be eaten together with the rice to balance to sodium.. Besides the salt it was flavorful.. Beans was average but notice I didn't want beans in my burrito (not a bean lover), so don't hang ur head too much on what I'm saying.. Chips and salsa was mediocre at best.. I will come back just for the enchiladas alone.. Therefore the 3 stars I gave them, unless I can find something else I love/hate this will be a balanced review.. read more
