Our new favorite downtown Greensboro spot when we're craving a chill vibe with plenty of drink options and appetizer style munchies. Lewis and Elm delivers a 5 star experience on so many levels. Many people I've spoken with think it's just a wine bar. Oh no, it goes well beyond your typical wine bar. First off, they have a full bar with a huge specialty cocktail list, craft beers, non alcoholic options and even THC drinks. We had amazing wine off of their impressive list, plus a few cocktails that were mixed extremely well. The food: amazing to say the least. Charcuteries, meats, cheeses, apps, finger foods, and a few uniques you have to get (one in particular). We enjoyed a beautifully plated charcuterie (see pic), the caprese bruschetta, a goat cheese pesto bruschetta, and that one in particular: the medjool dates. Everything was delicious, but these dates were on another level. The dates were surrounded by a bed of creamy Brie cheese melted perfectly, topped with crispy prosciutto and sprinkled with a balsamic reduction. All of this is easily mopped up with the fresh focaccia the dish comes with. This dish rocked! It was perfect on its own, but paired amazingly well with both the chilled white wine and the cocktails we were enjoying. The vibe is amazing as well. Upscale but super comfy interior. Come casual or dressed to impress, it all works here. Live music on the weekends add to the atmosphere and the whole experience. Come for the whole evening, or pre-dinner/pre-show drinks and bites, or even for a night cap after a dinner or show. Come for a quick pit stop, or stay for the live music. Lewis & Elm is quickly becoming part of my routine. The atmosphere is effortlessly cozy and welcoming, the kind of place where you instantly feel welcome. The staff is wonderful, shoutout to Luke with the Disney pins for always bringing great energy. The food and wine never miss. I've loved everything from relaxing with a glass of wine to sharing a bottle with a friend or joining the weekly themed wine tastings. They also serve desserts from The Salted Phoenix, if you've ever seen them at the Corner Farmers Market, you know how good they are. The lineup of recent events has been excellent, with something new to look forward to every week. I recently went to one of their Tuesday themed trivia nights, and it was absolutely hilarious (and surprisingly competitive). The Twilight theme night had me laughing the whole time -- a little chaotic, a lot of fun, and some of the side conversations went way deep. I'm already eyeing future trivia nights, I'll be back when the theme lets me unleash my useless pop culture knowledge, maybe 2000s Broadway or Disney Channel movies? Last Saturday's house/jazz DJ set with Jon.Viz was amazing. The vibe was intimate, warm, and totally unique. To top it all off, they have a wine club that I'm planning to join in January 2026. The selection is thoughtful, affordable, and clearly curated by people who genuinely love what they do. Lewis & Elm has that rare mix of comfort, community, and creativity -- a perfect little escape right in the middle of Greensboro. P.S. the check comes in a small book where guests can leave notes. We had a great experience at Lewis and Elm tonight. The small plates and cheese board were delightful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Our server was incredibly attentive and even walked us through the pecorino cheese board with pepper jelly and the best artisanal mustard I've ever tasted, explaining the pairings in a way that made the experience feel special (he even remembered us from our last visit). I was excited to finally try out this trendy wine bar after waiting far too long. My Yelp besties, my boyfriend, and I decided to go for a double date on a Friday evening in January. We made a reservation ahead of time, but it wasn't terribly busy at 7pm. It definitely livened up as the evening progressed. The wine preferences of our group varied, so we asked our waiter for a recommendation. Inspired by The Last of Us, we decided to share a bottle of the Colette Régnié Beaujolais 2020. It was delightfully light for a red and easy to drink which was apparent when we finished 2 bottles. For food we ended up splitting several small plates. We started with Focaccia & Olive Oil. I'm definitely a sucker for some good bread dipped in fancy olive oil with spices. This did not disappoint! The focaccia came out warm, and the dipping oil was so good we had to ask for more! Next we split an Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie Selection. I didn't really know what cheeses and meats I was eating since the waiter didnt explain them. They were all tasty though! There was a very interesting purple mustard included with the meat plate. Originally we couldn't figure out what type of condiment it was due to the color, but our waiter told us once we asked. Apparently it was purple due to including grape skins in the recipe.  Next we ordered a variety of tartines and paninis. I am a huge sucker for pesto so ordering the Emilia-Romagna tartine was an easy choice. It was deliciously salty and creamy. With all the wine I was starting to get sleepy, so I ordered a cold brew too! It definitely hit the spot and was robust without being bitter. To round out our meal we ordered the chocolate tart. It had more of a dark chocolate flavor that was complimented well by the raspberry sauce. The ratio of tart to crust was a little unbalanced as there was more crust than I would have liked but it still tasted good. Overall it was a delightful evening spent with great company. This would definitely be a great option for a girls night. It's fancy without having a ridiculous price tag, so it's very approachable. I highly recommend if you're feeling a little fancy! read more

This is one of my favorite wine bars in Greensboro. The flat rosé was amazing, and the charcuterie was delicious. Mistura was playing live yesterday, what a great way to spend Sunday evening. The bartenders are very friendly, Nathan is very patient and attentive. It's a regular sized bar with nice decor, and cool light fixtures. The bathrooms are always immaculate. I have been wanting to come to this wine bar downtown for some time. Friday, I finally had the opportunity. I was very pleasantly surprised that I could make a reservation for a table online. Not many options for reservations downtown. In addition to wine, Lewis and Elm offers beer, and light seasonal fare options for food. Their wine bottle menu is quite extensive. Most of my group wanted to drink red, and I happen to be more of a white wine gal myself. Our waiter offered some suggestions he thought I might like and even let me sample them first. We ended up going with his suggestion of a Beaujolais. It was a very pleasant red. Not bitter or too heavy. Maybe now I have a new red varietal to add to my "I like" list. After enjoying two bottles of this, I decided I wanted to finish off with a glass of white. The by the glass selection for white was surprising limited. I don't really like sweet and they didn't have a Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or even a Chardonnay. The waiter gave me a couple samples to try options and ended up settling on the Gruner Veltliner. Still a little sweet for my usual liking, kinda like a Riesling, but was alright. Their food menu features a selection of cheeses, salads, and European-inspired small plates. My friend questioned if they had enough food options to be considered dinner. But we all agreed at the end of the night after enjoying everything we had, we were all satisfied. I'm sure all the wine helped too! So we ordered Focaccia & Olive Oil (locally made baked Focaccia topped with sea salt & served with olive oil). It included 6 good sized pieces and they happily gave us more olive oil for dipping when asked. The bread was warm, perfectly baked with crispy crust yet still soft inside. Yum! We made our own charcuterie board of sorts ordering the Artisanal Cheese (Black Pepper Bellavitano, Sam Simon, and Morbier). It come with accoutrements of grape haves, pickled red onion, and more focaccia. To be honest I don't know which cheese was which. Would of liked it if the waitstaff did a quick explanation when they dropped off the dish. Regardless they were all delightful. I really liked the more melty one. I also am going to steal the "jenga" type stacking presentation method. We also got the Charcuterie Selection for some meat (Coppa, Mixed Salame, and Prosciutto). To finish out we ordered some Paninis. My husband got the Panino Italiano (Italian cured meats, house cheese blend, pesto). I had a bite and their pesto was great. I got the Beef and Blue (Roast Beef, house cheese blend, blue cheese & caramelized onion jam). That was a mighty good sandwich, especially that caramelized onion jam. Both were served with green salad & housemade pickles. I definitely had my share of bread this evening, but their freshly made bread was so worth the carb overload. The food prices here overall were pretty reasonable for being a fancier place with nothing we ordered costing more than $15 each. We finished the evening with the chocolate tart as it was recommended. I'm not a dessert person, but it was my type of dessert. Dark chocolate and the tart/tangy raspberry topping was divine. Save room for this. There is something about a wine bar to make ya feel fancy. It was a lovely Friday night. I will be back to enjoy some more bottles and more of their bread again soon. read more

We had an 8:15 reservation and we stayed until 10:30. The atmosphere was so inviting. A great place to catch up with friends or for a date night. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about each wine that was selected. We had the wine Flight and one extra glass of a white wine. After 8pm on Saturdays they have a free desert when you get 2 glasses of wine. We took advantage of that and tried out the cranberry tart. Amazing to say the least. I had the most lovely night at keys Lewis& Elm. This quaint wine bar packs a big lunch. On Thursdays (7-9:30p) and Sundays (2-4p) they offer live music. Tonight it was Sam Fribush with his trio. They was great. More folks should appreciate live music. The menu offers wonderful options with a recommended pairing for each item Alex gave a great alternative to the Sauvignon Blanc I wanted so I had the Cantina Povero Arneis with the Spring salad and cocktail mix. Now on to the food, I forgot to write down what I ordered but I did get a picture and check it out below they were so good I ordered two. The wine I had was their monthly tasting definitely should start with that. Then I ordered my favorite cab Hall vineyards cabinet sauvignon. Whether you're seated at the bar, a cozy couch or small table, you'll receive great service and a lovely view of the well-decorated interior. Staff members are extremely well-versed in the drink offerings and are some of the most genuine workers in this area. They sell a curated variety of wine and do offer half pours (for us lightweights!) Food plates are appetizers size (not something to feast on if you're super hungry). We got here at 6:45, ordered by 7 and by 7:45 we received the meat board when we ordered a meat and a cheese board, waited 15 more minutes to receive the cheese board AFTER the meat board arrived. Their kitchen is definitely not meant to handle a rush which they don't even sit more than 40 people in the establishment. Don't waste your time, it's an aesthetic not an experience. First of all, the space ia gorgeous. It's open, airy and spacious. It's a but of a maze to get in the door (there are cones, handmade ramps for accessibility and it looks like an obstacle course)but once you get inside, it's nice. Lewis & Elm is a welcome addition to the south end of Elm. The same folks that operate Rioja! Wine Bar opened this spot too. Jake is a gem and a community resource and we can't do much better than he and his staff. Let's talk food first: the plates are indeed small plates. They are enough for a light snack to start your night or even to end your evening. I'm in love with the robiola on the current menu. The menu has wine pairing suggestions that accompany cheese-forward plates. In the future I'd love to see some artisinal vegan or dairy-free cheese options paired with wine. It's a moment and L&E is just the place to start that trend in Greensboro. My one and only complaint are the chairs. They are not hip-friendly if you're wide like me. But there is bench seating at some of the tables with ample space for thicc thighs to save lives. read more

If you have been to Rioja a few times, you have heard Jake describe a wine as "right in your strike zone". Well, to extend the metaphor, Jake and Lauren have hit a home run with this one! The real beauty of Lewis and Elm is the way Jake has selected affordable wines as his "house" offerings that are over-performers, and will pair perfectly with something on their limited food menu. Don't let the term "limited" bias you. The quality is amazing local stuff with a great back story! The energy level at Lewis and Elm is high and the atmosphere is nearly buzzing. The people behind the bar are engaging, and fun without seeming like they are overdoing it in a cheesy way. It isn't a stuffy, wine snob bar.
