5/5 burger joint! No frills! You feel like you're in an old school dinner. If you're in Newburyport and looking for a good burger, go here!! What we got: - Shirley temples. Because when in Rome! - KC Bacon BBQ burger - delish, smashed Pattie's. And not toooo greasy. - we got fries and onion rings. Both were delicious. I'm born and raised in Newburyport, and while this place may be unassuming from the outside and location is a little off the beaten path. Skip the down town lines and go here for your burger fix instead!!

We were in town for the annual Chocolate Tour and used Yelp to find a place that had good hamburgers. This was the first suggestion with great reviews. We were able to find free street parking since the place is not in the city center. It looks like a small place with a couple of tables outside. When you walk in you get a great diner vibe. Our server Brenna was very friendly and attentive. I went for their weekly burger special - the mushroom melt with Swiss cheese, caramelized onions and choosing to skip the horseradish mayo. I really enjoyed my burger and would come back to check out their weekly burger special. I wasn't too happy with the fries. They were somewhat limp and not crispy. Hey I enjoyed my burger so much that I took half my burger home and the fries (I'll try air frying them). And maybe it was a bad batch of fries. Overall a place that I would visit again.

We drove to Newburyport to see what a boat we were interested in and decide to lunch here seeing it was right down the street. I had read their reviews beforehand and was very impressed. The food was good not great! To be honest we were disappointed. Our server Rachel was lovely and did a fine job. I will admit that we are both big time foodies and always on the hunt for FABULOUS FOOD and sometimes hard to please because we dine at mostly 5 star places. His smash-burger was average and my Cubano sandwich had NO PULLED PORK. I have never had a Cubano without it so it was a bit on the dry side..Wish I could give Cormorant 5 stars but the best I can do is 3.

This place has amazing burgers and milkshakes! The only issue is it's quite small inside so you may have to wait for a table to open up. They do have a bar with stools which you can eat at or wait for a seat. Me and my friends loved it here! The menu has much more than just burgers and the side salad I got was amazing!!!

Thai place is amazing! We got the burger special and a chicken sandwich (not pictured) Wow! Oh and the onion rings are worth the extra $2 Inside is small and cozy with an old school diner kind of feel. You seat yourself. We also got desert! (Pictured) I asked for an affogato(not on menu) and they were able to make it! Sooo yummy! Wife ordered a Biscpff Nutella milkshake and it was very yummy! Oh and the cookie! Service was amazing from all there staff. We left very full and very happy! Definitely suggest to anyone close by wanting a good burger or sando. They also offered vegetarian options.

I was on a flight once, and after the plane landed the flight attendants walked around with iPads asking passengers if they'd like to tip the flight crew. I'm only kidding, but in today's day and age where tipping culture has run amok, I wouldn't be surprised if this became the norm. Spirit, don't get any ideas, now! I have no problem with tipping, and do so generously. Yet, in a world where the trees will soon be subtly nudging towards a tablet with every breath I take, it was refreshing to hear about a no-tipping restaurant that pays its staff fair wages. Always nice to support a family business, too. Thus, when I was more-or-less in the area and due for a family date night, I decided to finally give The Cormorant a try. I had the opportunity to try the Naan-chos and the Duck vs. Cow burger. With the Naan-chos, I appreciate the creativity, but the execution did not work for me. I feel that the parts did not work together to form a cohesive dish. This comes down to two factors: First, the large size of the ingredients, specifically the naan chips and veggies. There is only so much I can fit in my mouth without looking like a barbarian! Second, the lack of cheese as a binding agent meant there was little to help stick components together. Where it comes to the parts on their own, the naan chips were a good base for the dish, and were cooked nicely to give just the right amount of crispness while not making them as hard as a tortilla chip. The hummus, beef, and veggies were good, but nothing to write home about. Though, I'd like to mention: the "spiced" beef felt as if the only spice was salt, and maybe pepper. The harissa, meanwhile was incredible! It had great flavor, and a pleasant level of heat. Meanwhile, the garlic maple tahini sauce did not work in this dish. It was heavy, in-your-face sweetness that did not meld with any other ingredient. The Duck vs. Cow burger was a different story. I loved the combination of the duck confit and burger patty. The duck especially was cooked to perfection and brought tremendous flavor. The aioli and the sweetness offered lovely savory and gently sweet notes that complimented the protein nicely. The only thing missing for my taste is some kind of acid, even if it is only a pickle on the side. The onion rings though didn't quite do it for me - they felt a little heavy on the breading, and were the kind that the little onion strings escapes leaving a substantial bread shell behind. Inside, the space is small yet warm and inviting, and has counter seating and a couple tables. The service is polite and appropriately fast. The prices were reasonable, especially considering there wasn't the de facto service charge which is an expected tip. Thus, while The Cormorant was a positive experience I don't see myself schlepping from Quincy.

    Cauliflower tacos--yum.

The cauliflower tacos are fabulous. And it is hard to finish them! You can have the fries or onion rings or salad. They also have milk shakes--boozy or not! I had a very good cappuccino. And it is such a cute place. Like going back in time to an old fashioned soda fountain.

Our only real option was two seats at the bar. We had quick and attentive service from the bartender. Interesting offerings for cocktails, and we enjoyed our drinks. The food I think can be best described as American/Thai/Asian. Food came pretty fast, and we started with crab rangoon, and possibly the largest we have ever been served. Fried up crisp, not greasy and generously filled with cream cheese and real crab. Next up, we tried the Waygu burger which was quite good, nice toppings. My only complaint here was we wished the fries were fresh out of the fryer. I'm really fussy about fries and like them hot, crispy and fresh. Sadly, these were not. I had my eye on the Choco Taco for dessert, and this was a sophisticated version of the classic frozen treat you may have enjoyed from the ice cream truck as a kid. Home made with great ingredients, it was a perfect finish to a very nice meal. I would definitely give these guys a try when in Newburyport.

The pork belly sandwich special was an unforgettable mouthful: juicy, cheesy, and perfectly stacked on toasted rye that added the ideal crunch. We were shocked (in the best way) by the salad portions--massive! Easily enough to feed a family of four, and fresh as can be. The cornbread? Soft, sweet, and heavenly with the honey butter. We did think a little toast would've helped that butter melt just right--but still a must-order. The house pickles were crisp with the most satisfying snap and bold flavor.
