My service appointment was for 9:30 and I arrived about 9:10 AM. I was promptly greeted by Juan who directed me where to steer my car into the waiting line. He checked me in and said Christopher, my service advisor, would be with me as soon as he was finished with the customer ahead of me. Christopher was with me in no time at all. We were in his office well before 9:30 and went over in detail what was going to happen for my 60K service. He told me my car would be done by noon for sure and if anything other than what we had discussed needed to be done, he would let me know. I went to the lounge where my senses were greeted by the aroma of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The lounge if fully stocked with snacks, these delightful cookies, soft drinks, water and a fancy coffee machine. Time passed quickly and Christopher came to the lounge to tell me my car was ready and being washed. The women at the check out station were efficient and friendly. An employee came up to me while I was waiting outside and said he would check on my car. He came back and told me it was still being washed and would be a couple more minutes. I left the dealership about 11:15. This outfit is efficient, customer oriented and I highly recommend it. read more

This dealership has no common sense when it comes to business etiquette and proper customer service whatsoever; nor any consideration for my time. I contacted this dealership early Friday on 8/2 because there was a Tesla I was interested in purchasing. Unfortunately I could not see it yet because they just received it and it was in servicing getting prepped for show. They said it would be ready Saturday morning 8/3 and I they set an appointment for me at 330PM. I told the reps that I was coming from Orange County and would be leaving around noon time and should get there way before the scheduled time. The reps referred me to Barney and Jorge and assured they would take care of me and kindly ask if I would give them a heads up on Saturday to confirm that I was coming (no problem). Barney texted me early in the morning to confirm if I was still coming and I said yes I was and that I should be headed out by noon. At around noon I texted Barney to let him know I was headed to the dealership but that it would take me 2 hours since there was unexpected traffic. I get to the dealership at 2PM (1.5HRS before my scheduled appointment) and when I met Barney, I was then told someone just sold the car. I was BEYOND FURIOUS because I confirmed multiple times I was coming to see the car and they did not put it on hold for me to at least see it, nor did anyone even informed me while I was driving down there that it was being sold. Jorge (Sales manager) said, "It's first come first serve, they don't do holds." First off, I don't know your policies and this should have been communicated with me if that's the case, if you're going to schedule an appointment with someone then I assume I have the opportunity to at least check out the car. He did not show any remorse or even care about my time and money for me to make the trip down. And if you're going to expect me to communicate with you if I'm coming, then you need to communicate with me about your policies so I can arrange to come earlier if I have to. This isn't the kind of service and professionalism that is expected with Lexus. Barney and Jorge should have put a sign on the car or put it away and not let anyone else see the car until I had the chance to, especially when I'm traveling far to see it. Barney and Jorge kept asking me "What do you want us to do?" They don't do any part of the "full service" inspection unless specified by you, they don't clean your car when they give it back, they didn't reset any of the computer systems before giving it back, they delay on their time of delivery and don't inform you of delays when they come up. After my initial review, I connected with Stephanie from Customer Relations, who was a pleasure to work with. She escalated my concerns to their Head of Sales, Gus. Gus reached out in July, and during our conversation, he assured me that I would be prioritized for one of the next GX550s and that the dealership would honor its promise not to charge the $5,000 dealer adjustment fee. At that point, I felt reassured and appreciated the communication. However, two months later, in September, I followed up with Gus to check on the status. Unfortunately, he seemed to have no recollection of our previous conversation. He informed me that if I wanted the GX550, I would need to join the queue, with several customers ahead of me--some of whom had been waiting for over a year. I reminded him that I, too, had been waiting over a year, and my name was called months ago when the dealership initially attempted to increase the price on me. Despite this, Gus reiterated that they couldn't do anything for me and that the others ahead in line would receive their cars first. It became clear to me that Lexus Carlsbad's approach is to wait for market demand to settle before removing the dealer adjustment fee, at which point they might reach out. When I asked Gus about this directly, he offered no response. Overall, this experience has been frustrating and far from what I would expect from a premium brand. If you plan on purchasing a vehicle from Lexus Carlsbad, I highly recommend getting all pricing agreements in writing via email. Went in here a few weeks ago and explained I was looking for a black-on-black vehicle, preferably a sedan, but was open to an SUV depending on the price and if we could make a deal. The salesman, Walid, was courteous but seemed disinterested and wasn't much of a help to me. He only showed me an ES 300 Hybrid after I asked what they had on the lot and was looking for black-on-black, which they didn't have. He kept on dancing around my questions, didn't know basic questions, and showed me random features that were irrelevant and I have on my 2025 Toyota Camry. He didn't ask me, talk to me, or offer to explore financing options. I had to ask about Lexus financial options vs. my own credit union. I had to ask him about promotions and rebates and break it down. He wasn't a help to me at all and didn't seem like he was interested in making a deal at all. When he didn't have an answer to my question, he had to ask his sales manager, and his responses were also very vague and didn't answer my questions either. They were trying to pressure me to buy that day yet didn't even have the color I wanted in stock, but they stated they could get me the color I wanted later that day and didn't even know what dealer it was coming from. They didn't even try to negotiate or close a sale. If this is how Lexus of Carlsbad handles clients looking to buy a new car, I don't think I want to give them my business. Four days later I was having an electrical issue with the car and took it into their service. I get told by the service advisor that all my tires need to be replaced because the tread is worn down, and for safety, they need to be replaced.WHAT?! I just purchased the car FOUR DAYS AGO 'CERTIFIED'!!! I argued my case and all they would do is replace 2 tires. I am still trying to get them to replace the other 2 tires they kept on this car and sold as certified. No one will get back to me.
