I won't go into details but there were a number of issues that happened when I bought my car. However, with the exception of one detail that we simply ended up taking care of ourselves, we had great responses and follow-up from them. UPDATE !!! Received a phone call Friday night from Sales Consultant Jose Martinez regarding my previous visit to Lexus of Carlsbad, he explained that the dealership was expecting a shipment of vehicles over the weekend. I spoke to my wife Coni and explained the situation which we probably need to arrive at the dealership Sunday morning to see the selection of RX350 SUV's, she agreed so I called Jose back told we would be there @ 10 am sharp ! We have been searching this model all over Orange County Dealerships which they all said the same thing " there are no inventory and don't know when the next shipment would be in". Coni and I arrived promptly @9:30 am we saw that indeed there were new RX350's on the lot ! We took a test drive which my wife was very impressed, when I happened to see a NX350h Premium down the line which was the only one they had. Let's test drive the NX ( which is a hybrid ) ........a bit sportier than the RX, well the party is over time to get down to business ! The NX350h Premium just happens to be a 2025 Model so timing is everything, while we were in the office finalizing paperwork another couple with their salesperson asked if the could look at the NX and we responded look but don't touch ( hahaha) it's the model they had been looking for ! We reached a deal with Jose and Sales Manager Donald Holcomb which was a win win for both buyer and dealership ! Coni and I had done our homework which made the process much more enjoyable. Manager came out and said they are pretty busy today and went to look for a sales associate to help look at the car I saw on their website. Waited 20 minutes with no help at all. Then my friend went out to talk to the manager that I really want to look at a car I'm interested in. He then found some to help me. One associate approached me, never greet me with a handshake, never even introduced his name or anything. All I saw was his name badge. Ummm....ooookkkkkk. NOT a very good first impression. Went to test drive a used 2023 Lexus UX 250h. Friend sat in front passenger seat, sales associate in rear on drivers side. Then my friend asked him a question and he as clueless and wouldn't even give us an answer. What is it with buying luxury cars? During the buying experience, everyone is great. And then you bring your car in to get it serviced at the same place you bought it from, and it's 180 degrees. I had a day of errands to do that incIuded delivering a large bag of oranges to a friend in the area that I stowed behing the driver's seat to keep it from toppling over while making my way from the southbay. I had an apt scheduled at Lexus Carlsbad that I was 10 mins early for. Pulled up to the service area. Got out of my car and stood outside of it for about 5 mins. No one approached me. I decided to walk inside where I was asked, "Are you checking in?" I confirmed and then was told someone would be with me. No instruction was given to me as to where I should wait, so I went back to my car where I stood around for another 5 mins. A gentleman walked up to me carrying a floor protection matt and seat plastic. "Are you checking in?" as I confirmed again waiting another 5 mins. A gal I saw walk up from the podium approached me asking, you guessed it, "Are you checking in?" She gets some vehicle info, and despite the service I had already indicated when I made the apt online asks what is being performed, which was a simple oil change. Not even a tire rotation because there was only 1844 miles on it. Waited another 5 mins when the service manager finally comes out and gets me started on the paperwork, telling me it'll be about an hour and a half for the work to be done. I'm thinking to myself, that's kind of long for an oil change but... ok whatever, they might be that busy. Also, the work I was having done was under warranty, so this should've been a clue to everyone I encountered that this was my first time servicing the car and that I most likely had never been to the building. I sign the paperwork and was asked if I knew where the lobby was. I assumed it was the sales lobby as that was the only lobby I knew of when we originally bought the car a year ago. So I went there to hang out and check out the showroom cars that I can't afford. I was also told to help myself to the refreshments and such in which I did. A cup of coffee sounded good, but then the Kurig machine was out of water and indicated it needed to be descaled. At this point, I'm starting to think about these little signs that contradict everything Lexus Carlsbad's service tries to implement. Exactly an hour and a half goes by and I receive a text saying that someone tried to find me in the lobby but couldn't, and that my car was ready for pick up. So I go back over to the service building where I see the manager at the desk. I tell her I got a text saying I couldn't be found in the lobby that I had been in the whole time. The sales lobby that is. And at that moment I realized there was another lobby in the service building! I guess I could've read the small signs that indicated where it was? Would've been nice for someone to have actually shown me where it was. So I sign the departing docs and was instructed to go outside the side door of the "Service Lobby" and see the attendant. A gentleman came up to me and asked to see my paperwork. He then gave me my key that he happened to have in his hand already, and simply told me my car was up front. Where up front? There's all these other cars that look exactly like mine. But there it was, "up front" I guess. He could've at least pointed it out for me maybe. I get in my car to finish off the rest of my errands for the day. I noticed my seat had been slid all the way back and not thinking anything of it, continued my day to complete my errands and get back down south to beat traffic. I get out of the car to grab the bag of oranges and noticed the bag was torn apart. The oranges had split open, saturating the bag and onto the floor! Then it occurred to me, when the seat was adjusted all the way back, it crushed the bag of oranges and whoever did it, made absolutely no effort to check what that crushing noise was. Sure, it was a mistake, but this just sent the whole experience over the top for me. I feel like people nowadays really don't know what real "service" is. Today, I quit my job because I felt like I was working with a bunch of people who really don't care about what it is they do despite what their organization strives to be or accomplish. People just want a job. Any job as long as they get paid. That's it. Not a care about what it is they do that affects who they do it for whether it be their own company or a customer. This is the world we live in now. It's sad. It really is. I was already bummed about the regret I had about leaving a great organization I had worked for, but I guess maybe I can thank Lexus Carlsbad for providing an example that supported my decision. read more

I went to Lexus Carlsbad to search for a used car that would get better gas mileage and immediately found a 2019 IS300 with only 16k miles (lease return). It was super clean with no evident damage. The car fax report was clean. We moved quickly to buy the car and were out in less than two hours. Dino the salesman was a delight. I tried to negotiate as there was a similar car at a non-Lexus dealership for $4k less but they refused saying that car wasn't certified and such. So I bought at asking. I was very satisfied at this point. The next weekend I took my car to a do it yourself wash and as I was drying it I noticed myriad scratches and areas where a repair was attempted but once I washed it with the high pressure wash, the damage was evident. I reached out to the dealer and after some dawdling they agreed to have it in to repair the damage. They did initially say they would discuss with the third party that completed the painting touch up prior to it hitting the lot (they knew there was damage and attempted to cover it up), and when I arrived at the appointed time they quickly processed me in and Dino let me borrow his car as they wouldn't give me a loaner. The touch up took less than an hour and when I got the car back, it looked worse. They basically took paint with a fingernail brush and it didn't match. Dino pointed out the color was hard to match. I brought up that they should repaint the whole front bumper and he said they wouldn't. He said that he knew I was not happy and a customer service person would reach out, and as of today, no one has. In this case the principle caveat emptor applies. If you buy a used car from them, you may want to ask them what would happen if the touch up paint comes off. Or maybe ask to have it washed with high pressure so you can look for any damage, then have them detail it. I'm bummed as I have purchased all our cars for the last 20 years from this group. read more

Have had my Lexus for over 15 -20 years and have been to many dealers over the life of my car. I have been faithfully maintaining my vehicle at the local dealerships for years. This is the most dishonest dealership I have ever been to. My Lexus has a engine burning issue that is inherent of the model as I have read numerous other same models with the same issues. However, lexus has not recalled the car! I went to the dealership to have this issue looked at. They did an engine oil consumption test but I realized after the test rhaf they had skewed the test and said my engine was not burning oil when in fact, they filled the engine oil WAY past the normal engine oil level!! Such dishonesty and when I confronted them, they denied such a thing when it was obvious (I took photos of my mileage and the engine oil level) it was overfilled. If that wasn't enough, I gave them the benefit of the doubt by giving them a second chance to do the test again. I should have never given them a second chance. They kept my car and admitted this time it was burning oil but they needed "to do more tests". This time, my car returned and only after driving just a couple of miles, one of the lights turned on that had never ever turned on before. They have fiddled with my car, lied about outcomes, etc I will never trust them again and will never bring my vehicle here again. They have left such a sour taste in my mouth that I will think long and hard before ever buying another Lexus again!:( I wanted to add that they have gotten really cheap and miserly with their loaner vehicles as well. They used to have unlimited gas and mileage. Now, they want the customer to pay for the gas and fill it back up to where it was before like a rental car?! And, they only allow one to travel in a certain mile radius. We pay them outrageously higher prices and trust our vehicles to them for service and maintainance and that's how they treat loyal customers?? Give me a break. read more

Lexus of Carlsbad performed a Yo-Yo treatment to get me to fly in for a vehicle that was L/Certified. When I arrived the vehicle had damage to the rear quarter panel and the repairs were not completed as they wanted to sell the car for more. The company has been advised the car had damage on 9/12/2024 yet kept it up as of 9/17/2024 to get more money. They are misrepresenting to the public the vehicle condition to attempt to make more money. This dealership is considered one of the better ones at Lexus when they have been the worst. I have dealt with Lexus of Modesto that has been the best along with Lexus of Sacramento. The sales consultant on the lot was quick to ask me what he could help with, he said typically service would assist with this but he was happy to check if they had any key batteries in the back.
