What a hot mess. Agreed to a price that was less than the asked for $20,000 over MSRP over the phone. After driving 90 minutes. I was greeted by the salesperson who quoted me the original price as if I would see the car and just want to pay $5000 more. Maybe David thought I wouldn't notice that the car was more money. Maybe he thought I wouldn't be upset after driving all this way and not agreeing to his word? My time was wasted, and after going to his sales manager, which he supposedly had done already. The woman agreed to lower the price yet again. The tricky part was, there were all sorts of extra fees for things that were even listed as free of charge?? You heard me, listed as no charge but charged $2000 on one of theses items. The price already a great deal over MSRP. Probably would've still bought the car, but I had spent extra time getting a cashiers check. They would not take credit cards for even part of the sale. The funny thing is they wouldn't accept credit cards and my cashiers check would no longer cover the new price. Oh wait all of a sudden it was OK to take credit cards. I didn't have six hours to sit there and wait for a car that I was paying cash for. I wasted 4 hours and was told that they could not process an all cash sale. I needed to go through the finance manager?? Quality dealerships will train their sales people in processing cash sales. Shortsighted dealerships focus on gouging the hell out of each individual customer and wasting an enormous amount of time. Work on volume not dishonesty people. Essentially, they wanted to me to talk to two sales people. The finance manager to talk me into all sorts of other programs. Just sell me the freaking car and call me later about your other programs. If you can only process one sale at a time because of your finance manager, get two finance managers on the floor. I guess the kicker was they forgot to tell detail to prepare the car and there was no longer time to do it. It's a six hour process? I would have to pay for the car and go home without it. I've never had to do that in my life. Talk about killing the excitement of a sale. All this bs and no reward. The dealer represents all of the poor things from numerous dealers in one location. My wife and have bought several Lexus vehicles. Found an NX here that we wanted to buy and had a terrible overall experience. First, the price they post is NOT the final price or close to it. They added $3,000 of mandatory dealer packages for useless add ons. They were unwilling to work with us at all on anything and were fairly rude about it. Communicating with them was also a nightmare. The first salesperson I worked with, Hiwa, became unresponsive to my inquiries and passed me off to another salesperson (without telling me anything) who had little to no idea what they were talking about. I then got passed to the sales manager Joe who was extremely difficult to get ahold of, even though I was ready and willing to go ahead and buy the vehicle. In the time it took for them to respond to me about moving forward with purchasing the vehicle, I was able to drive to a dealership that had a similar vehicle, purchase it, and have it back at my house in my driveway, with no dealer add ons and for 3k less actually. If that's not a hint of what you're going to get here, I'm not sure what is. Lexus of El Cajon's response was that they were just so busy and slammed. Well, with these tariffs coming, every dealership is slammed (including the one we ended up buying from in less than 2 hours start to finish). Make no mistake, this is a dealership market. However, one would expect a dealership, especially a Lexus dealership not to take full advantage of that in how they treat and work with the customer. But this place did. My wife and I buy Lexus because we are willing to pay a premium for better service, experience, and elevated cars. Lexus of El Cajon does not fit that role at all. While I appreciate the apology they gave me after letting my frustrations known, I think it's important for them to rethink their attitude towards customers. read more

Horrible service in the Service Department at Lexus of El Cajon. Taylor Mackin did not provide any customer service. This place also quoted me over $900 for a job, same exact job I took to Welch's Tires in National City, cost me $200. TAKE YOUR CAR AND YOUR MONEY TO WELCH'S!! This is a crazy price difference for the exact same job! I complained about the service Taylor provided also, to the Service Manager, Robert Mandgie, and he did nothing. This place is ridiculous. My parents and I were there today to order one LS500H and two NX350H all 2025 models. The sales agent did not care to help us at all, she was so focused in pushing her cars in inventory, she told us that we would need to wait 2 to 3 years!! Why anyone would rate this dealership at less than 5 stars is beyond me, but then there are always those people who can never be pleased. I have been in touch with my sales person, Eva Martin, for three years and the car I wanted came in this week and I bought it sight unseen. Knowing Lexus quality I bought it immediately and picked it up today. The paperwork process was the easiest I have ever handled. And she took plenty of time to fill me in on the new features and there are a lot. The fact that she stayed in touch for three years impressed me the most. The showroom was spotless and all of the other staff I met were very pleasant. Being in sales myself, I know what a good salesperson is, and that is Eva. Not because she "sold me a vehicle" but because she did everything absolutely right. The second blurry picture is taken thru "covid glass" but it is her showing me a new "mini" manual as Lexus realized that almost no one reads the big one. I wish I could give more than five stars After months of looking for a car, being promised items they denied right before signing contract at Toyota of El Cajon, Larry Miller Toyota sold from under us the car we paid a deposit on and waited for a month while holding our deposit, they also had a $11,000 worth of options and $5000 dealer markup! We walked in somewhat defensive after all our hellish experiences. We were greeted by Dillan. From the moment we introduced ourselves we felt the difference. We kept waiting for the catch, we asked "where is the dealer markup?", "we don't do that". We picked up the car today and we're helped by another very nice and professional gentleman, Hanny. Since we missed out on the December to Remember event during the holidays, we noticed that there was another promo event for the month of March. We got several referrals to go to Lexus El Cajon based on their purchases and their respective dealings. I had been corresponding with a contact who knew the Sales Manager, and I was emailing him back and forth regarding what we were looking for. We perused the online inventory and decided to go in and test drive the Lexus RX 350. My husband really liked the new NX, but with our currently lifestyle and new baby on the way, I felt we needed to go up a model to the actual SUV. We arrived and were greeted by the friendly staff. The RX we wanted to see online was driven up to us so we could test drive it. I ended up test driving the RX since I would be the primary driver of the vehicle, and fell in love with it. We drove back to the dealership to discuss the various models and add ons. We were very honed on the safety package, and didn't care for the navi or all wheel drive features. Since the promo was in effect, they were pretty firm on the price and wouldn't budge, which was disappointing. Although we liked the RX, we didn't LOVE it given the extra features it had that we didn't need. After talking financing, the sales person wanted to run some numbers which equated to running a credit check. I wasn't quite comfortable at the time and my husband and I decided to take a lunch break to further discuss. Went in for my RC to get service and WOW what a s--- show ! Everyone scrambling and no one communicates . The lady who took my call had the wrong information text message and my late mother's name on the appointment. When I got there I told them that and they never changed it. Extremely unorganized and chaotic. I guess if you're someone who has all the time in the world to sit and watch people that would be fine but people with jobs it wasn't fine. My NX450+ was due for a safety recall and a routine service. I booked a week out for an appointment at 8:30. Juggled getting kids to school and arranged to go into work late, and arrived at my appointment at 8:20. After no one came to get me from the waiting area by 8:45, I went to check to see what the hold up was, as I knew it would take a while to get my car checked in and get a courtesy vehicle, and I needed to get to work. Finally someone came out to tell me that they didn't have the part they needed for the recall, so I could pay for the $600+ dollar service and would have to bring it back for the recall when they got the part in 3 days. I asked why it hadn't been ordered when I made my appointment a week ago and they guy said he wasn't sure why they hadn't done that. I decided to leave because I didn't want to have to have my car in the shop twice, so asked them to bring my car back up front. He said it would be up front in "3-5 minutes." It took 20 MINUTES (!!!!) to get my car back from the shop in the back. I was just standing there waiting and waiting, asking multiple people to go get my car. After arriving at 8:20 for my 8:30 appointment, I wasn't able to pull out of the lot until 9:15 despite not getting anything done to my car. Later I got a text notification from someone that said, "it looks like you missed your appointment with us, would you like me to reschedule that?" I texted back that I would like a manager to call me and she said she'd have one do that, but that never happened. I will not be returning to this location, nor will any of my family of Lexus owners. I really thought they would offer me a discount on my service or something, but there was zero customer service or any desire to make things right for their error. read more

I would give them negative stars if I could!!! We bought a used truck from this dealership over a year ago. There were lots of promises made that didn't happen until we made a fuss. To begin with, they promised us a new battery. The day we went to pick up the truck it still had the old battery. They assured us to still take the vehicle home and we could make an appointment to come back for a new battery. We had to call and go in several times before they got us one. We also bought the truck without a shift handle. They said they ordered one, but it was on backorder. We ended up buying one ourselves before the actual handle ever came in. Our biggest complaint would be that they sold us a an extended warranty that wasn't valid. The sales lady sold it to us saying that if anything were to go wrong with the truck we should know within the 1st year. That was her selling point. She explained that we could file for a return and get a prorated check back. We set a calendar reminder for exactly one year. Called them on that day and said we'd like to file for a prorated return. After several calls and emails and no returns, we went in there. Fast forward to leaving messages ,several trips into the office, either the finance person not in or the manager that needs to approve it not being there, the wrong paperwork being filed on our behalf, blah blah blah they stretched this out for months never explaining what the actual issue was. Apparently the mileage recorded at the time of purchasing the extended warranty was more than the mileage recorded at the battery service, which was after we already bought the truck. They chalked it up to the service guy having "Fat fingers and hitting the wrong numbers when he checked it in." But ultimately because the mileage was not accurately recorded on their end, they were having a hard time getting the refund and it was "Out of their hands." We then argued that should we have had to actually use our extended warranty it wouldn't have been valid, so we basically gave them over $3000 and never even had coverage to begin with. At this point we should have received a full refund for their mistake. . . They said no, and ended up applying the prorated refund to the principle of our loan. They called us to let us know after the fact. Our 2 major complaints: 1- if it was that easy, why did it take months?!!! 2- the only reason we bought the extended warranty was because the way the finance person sold it to us, explaining that we could get a prorated refund if there are no issues in the 1st year. We have filed for prorated refunds of extended warranties with previous vehicles in the past so we know how they work and we have always gotten a check back.. we had plans for that money and were never once told that it would be applied to the principle of our loan and not in the form of a check. Had we known that, we wouldn't have applied for the refund at all. It was a stupid unnecessary hassle brought on by miscommunication, a poorly run establishment, and no accountability. We will never go here again and we will be telling everyone about our experience. read more

Best Lexus car buying experience that I've ever had! My sales rep was Eva! She is very personable, professional, and responsive. I spoke with Eva a few months ago and due high demand for plug-in hybrid vehicles I had to add my name to their wait list. I had given up on looking for hybrids but when a vehicle arrived Eva notified me as promised. My financing rep was Patty. She was also professional and friendly. I'm very happy with my purchase and it feels nice to finally upgrade my car! I traded in my vehicle and received a reasonable trade-in. About a week or two after I purchased my vehicle I noticed two air bubbles forming on the invisibra. I contacted Eva and she helped me get this resolved. I was looking for a major upgrade from our old Chevy Tahoe LTZ, so my wife and I wandered over to Lexus El Cajon about 6 months ago to see what was on the lot. Already knew I wanted to check out the certified preowned RXs. Salesman greeted us promptly and showed us several certified preowned RXs on the back lot. We immediately fell in love with a 2016 RX450h hybrid with just 19,000 miles on the clock. The price was right, the car was fully loaded, and after a bit of friendly negotiation we bought it. Super happy with the sales process and the car. Really nice! My first 5k mile service came due a couple weeks ago (cost covered under the Lexus certified preowned program) so set an appointment and brought the car in. Was given a brand-new loaner Lexus to use while the service was being done -- beat the hell out of a shuttle ride back home! A few hours later, got a call that our car was ready to pick up. No charge. Extremely happy that we bought our RX450h at Lexus El Cajon. Great dealership with great service. And our car is AMAZING. Love it! read more

Chris Smith aka the master of scamming people, this is for you brother. Total cost for my 15,000 came out to be $336.64 for 2018 Lexus is 350. I've been here for maintenance service only for the past 2 times and just realized they jack up "Labor cost". I believe i paid about $200 for my 10,000 which seems fishy also. According to Lexus website, the labor cost should be way less - 108 to 168 MAX. I should have gone to Lexus Escondido where i've been going for my previous Rx 350. https://repairpal.com/estimator/15000-mile-service-cost The whole time i was talking to Chris Smith on the desk, they didn't give me price estimate and when things are done, they charged $336.64 for a maintenance while parts were total about 70. It was very empty and maybe people have been avoiding this place all along. I declined to give my credit card number online. Called 1-800-255-3987 and pressed 4 for complaints, etc. and let them know. The person on the phone said wow! to a $259.82 labor fee for a freaking 15,000 maintenance As long as Chris is there, i will not take my Lexus here for maintenance and i will spread the words to everyone. Bought 2 vehicles here from Eva Martin in December 2020 and September 2021, both pre owned trade ins (2018 Honda and 2019 Toyota). Love the cars and Eva was great to work with. Not too pushy, and very personable. 5 stars for Eva! This behavior is just so infuriating, considering you took advantage of this heinous extreme labor charge, without even attempting to give me a slight solution to my issue. I do not believe you guys had any intention to install this part (which would be 500 extra dollars) for free. You took advantage of my parents (immigrants) who wanted their daughter's car fixed. You charged insane prices, to FIX my car, but instead I came back with my car who's condition had not changed at all. You took advantage of us. Point blank period. I will continue leaving my reviews up for everyone to know that they should go to other auto-repairs, especially those that are not controlled by a corporate. You will be left unsatisfied. I ended up going to a different auto-repair shop (a smaller, lesser known one) who was baffled by not only the price, but how the mechanics at Lexus failed to see there was an easier hack solution... to take out the fuse causing the issue which these guys did not do, and instead took out major pieces of my car and led my trunk switch in car TO NOT WORK. So, not only did he essentially remove the battery drain issue, the chime issue, and pretty much everything else, but he also charged an amazing rate. I am grateful for going to the new auto-repair, and know definitely to NEVER give Lexus dealership my business again. I'm not used to going to my normal car shops or my dealership let alone. However, Robert exceeds that expectation and makes me feel comfortable knowing that I have one less thing to worry about. Very nice that day I went in. Traded in my Toyota. After that day, he texted and/or called me asking how the car was doing and if I had any friends or family members looking for a car, to contact him. In early 2020, I went in to get my car serviced and asked about changing my car for an SUV but no one seemed to want to help me. Called/texted/email Brandon inquiring about a new car but never returned any of my calls or my texts. Two days it has been ready, I had to Call and get an update. Only when I called was I told the car was ready for pick up. Would rather walk 50 miles to another dealership barefoot on a 107 degree day than to deal with this one again. I went in today at 7am to replace my Dead Lexus battery. I had called on Saturday to make sure my parents could pay over the phone as they are replacing my hybrid battery for me so I may make the trip back to Oregon. They told me they can easily pay online. When I went into the parts store this morning I asked again and was told "yes they can purchase online here's the website and how to do it" I sent my mom the link immediately and she purchased the battery and sends me the receipt. When I go back to the counter the worker tells me I cannot pick up my battery as the transaction was flagged as fraud. I ask to speak to a manager in which he says the card company could not verify the address as they don't match. I assured them that the card had never been registered to a different address as we built our home in 1997 and my mother still lives there. They continued to say no she needs to call her bank. We call the bank and the representative talks to the "manager" advises this charge is correct and already pending in my mothers account. This was not good enough for Lexus, I went on to read the paperwork that says "high risk for fraud as buyer is in Oregon and pick up is in California" Below in the step by step instructions that say how to capture the payment underneath. I advised that I am a Oregon driver with Oregon plates and and Oregon license trying to make it home to Oregon with a dead battery and my parents paid for the battery while I was standing in their dealership..... once again not enough. Finally I get to speak to the real GM who continues to tell me "we have been burned before" once again I'm saying I am a Lexus driver with a dead Lexus battery on a hybrid and my parents are paying to replace my battery so I can get home as they know I can't buy the battery from a normal car parts shop. I plead and was in tears as my mother and I were already late to work. My mom then sends her ID and a picture of her debit card. After an hour and a half of back and forth and tears they finally said "we will run it manually" but wanted a picture of the back of the card to keep on file. I refused after all the hoops we had to jump through for a $291 battery that was purchased online following there instructions and then denied. I don't know if it was because I was a black woman that they didn't want my families money but it was insane. We were using a debit card not even a credit card. I've had my hybrid Lexus for 4 years and I have never had any issue in any other Lexus dealer. Horrible customer service, horrible people and I would rather travel by foot to any where else than to give them a single dime. I did however go across the street to El Cajon Toyota and they gladly sold me a battery. Literally appalled by the behavior and actions of Lexus El Cajon over a $291 battery. Less than 24 hours after posting the above review the real general manager who i apparently did not meet responded calling me a liar and saying that I wouldn't provide the information they requested like a reasonable person. When I was the one who offered to call my mom, her bank, got her ID and a picture of her card. The only thing they asked me for was the back of her card so they could run it manually 1.5 hours after I had been dealing with this situation. Gerry Lefevre is a disgrace and lacks the knowledge of how to handle when HIS employees lie but feels comfortable attacking someone in the reviews. Update: I did not opt to put inaccurate information in my review if you are the general manager I was lied to as I asked for the GM and a plump white man came out and told me he was the manager !!! I understand the "policy" but I asked on the phone and while in the damn store if my parents could pay by phone or online in which your employees directed me to have them Do so he even helped me with my phone and how to place the order watched me contact my mother so she could place the order and then come with the goddamn receipt. A review from two years ago stated that this dealer listed the "Car was listed for one price and sales manager added $2800 to price. Add-ons were for clear coat and ID etching, and a highly inflated price for Safeguard." Well, they are still at it, they list a Lexus we were interested in for 59k, then sent me this email with the add-ons. "Hi Tim, Here is the dealer protection package that I mentioned. Most insurance companies will give you a better rate with this too. 2: Etchcode - An ultraviolet etch that goes on the front two doors, the hood, trunk and the engine bay. Etchcode pays you $2,500 if your vehicle is stolen and can't recover the parts. This also serves as a theft deterrent. 3: Clear Shield - A shield installed around the trim and door handles to prevent scratches and nicks. 4: Sani-Check - A process done to the vehicle to prevent viruses including covid or virus can live inside the vehicle for up to 7 years." I didn't want these upgrades, but it seems this dealer is intent on inflating the price for items that cost about 3/4 of what they are charging. Additionally, under California Vehicle Code section 11713.1(e), when car dealers publish advertisements for cars and trucks, and those ads include asking prices, then the dealers are prohibited from selling the advertised vehicles for more than their advertised prices, unless the ads specifically list expiration dates that have passed. Further, Section 260.04(b) of the regulations promulgated by California's Department of Motor Vehicles further mandates that advertised vehicles "must be sold at or below the advertised price irrespective of whether or not the advertised price has been communicated to the purchaser." Seems that this dealer feels that they are above the law, this practice has been documented in reviews by other customers and customers are still getting the short end of the stick. read more

My journey with ending up purchasing with Lexus El Cajon started about 3 months ago. I was looking for a GS-F (not a GS F-Sport)and had shopped around on multiple sites, looking nationwide for this specific car as it is made in very limited production numbers(1,600 were made in the U.S.for the one I purchased.) I had done extensive research and had shopped around a lot but was never able to close a deal as some of these other dealerships were either asking for too much or trying to add on unnecessary options that I kept declining (as in LEXUS OF WOODLAND HILLS - NEVER GO THERE - WOULD NOT EVEN COME DOWN 1 PENNY FROM THEIR ASKING PRICE). I myself work in a corporate retail setting and I know that you should never ever treat your customers this way(referring to Lexus of Woodland Hills - very aggressive sales tactic and trying to strong arm negotiations in their favor). Things finally came into place when FATE decided to send me the BEST SALESPERSON PERIOD... HANDS DOWN!!! CHRIS BISCARDI IS THE PERSON THAT YOU NEED TO TALK TO WHEN YOU ENTER THIS DEALERSHIP. I saw the ad for my Future Vehicle online and had called the dealer and started negations with Chris... mind you that I am a 2 hour drive away from the dealership. I started the conversation telling him that I actually wanted to negotiate pricing first before I see the car because I lived so far away. He was very receptive to every question that I had asked him. We agreed on a price with the contingency that I would take the car if the test drive went well. They had to make some upgrades to the car that I had asked for before I got there and he gave me a detailed timeline of when it would be ready with daily updates on how things were going (about 1 week... I asked for a lot). On the morning of the day that the car was ready, he gave me all of the info about when my car would be ready that day and kept me updated through the process. He also had all of my financing documents completed before I got there. I had also asked him to print the service history of the vehicle and he pulled all the info for me and had everything ready for me. Later that evening, I arrived at the dealership, took the test drive, and everything that I had checked for was completed. I went into finance with Demitri (Great finance manager who was also all ready for me with documents) shortly afterward, signed all my paperwork and was in and out of the dealer in about 90 mins once everything was said and done. I ended up saving thousands off of the listed price and even more when compared to other dealerships in Southern California. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have a person like CHRIS BISCARDI as my salesperson. I will ABSOLUTELY start referring all future Lexus owners to him if they would ever consider a purchase of a Lexus vehicle... even if it's a far drive. He absolutely made it worth it with FIRST CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will absolutely come back here in the future when I decide to purchase my next Lexus vehicle. We bought a used 2020 RAV 4 in December 2022 and had problems with tires that were replaced on the car. We went to the dealership and discussed with them the problem in April of 2023. Worst customer service ever at the service department. Representatives have no communication skills what so ever. I came to drop my car off for service, Jennifer, without any effort said they have no loaners, i went outside and spoke with the dealership over the phone and they offered me an Enterprise which Jennifer did not offer to me at all knowing this was urgent for me. Waited for enterprise for 40 minutes, the other rep refused to call enterprise to check on their ETA and after she got one they still did not show up... the problem is the way they handling customer service, not offering me options or solutions and at the sane time leaving me in the dark and actually enjoying me waiting for 40 minutes... After just buying a car at Lexus El Cajon, I have to say I was extremely impressed with everyone working there from Rafael in sales to Christine in service and the parts department as well. Rafael is the best sales representative and takes excellent care of his customers. He also personally delivered my car to my home. Christine took great care of me today when I took my car in for a few things to be added. When I've called the dealership the other people have been very friendly and helpful. Great service department! Had a coupon deal (no longer associated with eOilchange) for oil changes. Made an appointment online and got me in right before my service time. One thing bad about this Lexus dealer is they do not offer car washes or car loaners with oil change services only. Luckily, I will never do a car wash at a car dealership! I would rather wait for the car instead of loaner as well. I may return if they can offer me a deal on the new Lexus IS releasing this year! read more
