    Beef roll
    Jennifer W.

When I sat down at the place, I overheard someone in the neighboring table tell their friend " this place is even better than Dumpling World". I have not been to Dumpling World, so I can't directly compare, but the xiaolong bao here were certainly made to perfection. It was served to the table steaming hot, and each one was juicy and flavorful. The skin was thin and mighty as it held the weight of the juice and meat as I moved the xiaolong between plates and lightly poked it with my chopsticks. Aside from the xiaolong, I ordered a beef roll, which contained good portions of meat in a nice chewy wrap but would've been better with a crispier outside. I also admired the hand made noodles that were served to the neighboring table and look forward to trying it the next time I'm back. From conversations with the restaurant staff, I learned that their food is 陕西 (Shanxi) inspired, and their region in China is known for great noodles and dumplings. It appears to be a family owned restaurant, and I love the small space that they've transformed to deliver authentic Shanxi cuisine. If you, like me, appreciate family owned restaurant and love supporting local businesses, I'd highly recommend you give this place a visit as well. Pro tip: if you would like to enjoy the delectable dumplings at home, this place also sells freshly made frozen dumplings that can be steamed or cooked at home for a lazy meal.

The staff were super friendly and took great care of us! I recommend getting the xlb and the beef rolls, those both were solid options- the soup was savory and comforting inside the xiao long bao & the beef rolls were stuffed with beef. We got a couple more items and all were pretty solid. Definitely a great and authentic spot for dumplings in sugar land!

Li's Potstickers is a relatively new addition to this area that gives mom and pop vibes. I guess XLB is trending right now because everyone's serving them. Service was relatively quick and the food was yummy. My only gripe was that the bowl of oxtail radish soup hardly had any oxtail in it and was small(er), in my opinion, for the price! The chicken cutlet with cabbage was SO good!

Wow I am impressed! This is a new restaurant in Sugar Land and there serve authentic Northern Chinese restaurant. They have a wide variety of options to choose from. All the items are hand made including the noodles. It's has an amazing texture you can only get from hand making the food. It reminds me of grand mother cooking. I order green onion pancake, dumplings, steam dumplings, beef noodle soup, soupy pancakes fried pork buns, and traditional chili oil noodles. The soup buns were amazing. It wasn't too oily and it was filled with soup and is perfect. Everything is amazing but we reordered the traditional chili noodles cause it was amazing. The restaurant is a very cute mom and pop shop. The service was great and it was very quick. We scan the qr code on the table and then order the food. The staff are nice and friendly. Definitely will return and introduce my friends to come here.

I stopped by here on my visit back to houston this weekend for lunch and was once again extremely impressed by the dumplings and buns. I had eaten here a few months back and was always meaning to review it, but after having another amazing experience, I made sure to review it as soon as I got home. My grandma and I ordered the soupy pan fried pork buns, pork and cabbage snowflake pot stickers, steamed pork and shrimp dumplings, and pork soup dumplings. Soupy pan fried pork buns (5+/5): This is by far my favorite item they have here. It comes with 6 buns total, each the size of a tennis ball. The bun is super soft and not too thick, just thick enough to hold the pork filling and broth without tearing. The base is really crispy and pan fried perfectly, adding a very nice texture to the buns. The meat filling is juicy and seasoned well without tasting oily, like a perfect home-made dumpling filling. Many times when I eat dumplings/buns elsewhere the filling tends to be a bit blander, but that is not the case here. Lastly, there is a ton of broth inside the buns, similar to a large bun version of a soup dumpling. Stellar item and must get. Pork and chinese cabbage snowflake pot stickers (5/5): The best pot sticker in Houston. There is a ton of crispy batter that remains light and crispy throughout the meal. At the same time, the dumplings themselves burst with juice on each bite. It's amazing how juicy every dumpling/bun is here, I have no clue how they even make the regular steamed dumplings/pot stickers that moist. The pork filling is meaty and the chinese cabbage slightly crunchy. Lastly, they got the skin thickness right on both this and the steamed dumpling, just thick enough to hold the juice without breaking. Steamed pork and shrimp dumplings (4.5/5): A great dumpling as well, this is your classic steamed dumpling with pork and shrimp filling. Apart from being steamed instead of pan fried with a crispy batter, these dumplings have all the great qualities of the snowflake pot stickers. They have ideal skin thickness, tender yet bouncy filling with great pork and shrimp flavor, and a good amount of juiciness as well. Pork soup dumplings (4/5): Like the other items, the pork soup dumpling has a great flavorful filling and a solid amount of soup inside. I had soup dumpling twice at taipei including DTF and although the skin was thicker than DTF, it definitely was better than the place I waited in line for 45 minutes for. The skin may have been slightly thicker but everything else about it was excellent and as expected, no tears in any of the dumplings. Overall, I have no idea why when I went for lunch there was only one other table eating. With food of this quality, I would have expected the place to be filled to the brim. Service was solid, and the pricing is great with each item being about $12-13 tops. I will definitely come again when back in town. A definite 5/5.

Love this place! We came on a Monday evening and were the only ones in the restaurant, but everything was delicious: ordered xiao long bao, beef noodle soup, pork noodle soup, and the cucumber salad. You order off of the QR menu and everything came out quickly. Service was good too they refilled my water quickly and answered my questions about the food. The hand pulled noodles were delicious! Restaurant was clean too, will def be back!

Amazing restaurant! The waitress was great, the food was awesome, it didn't take long at all for the food to come, it was pleasant and relaxing too. I recommend this to anyone. We shared the sesame balls and the snowflake dumplings and they were perfect. Can't wait to take our friends there next time.

Li's is a wonderful new addition to the neighborhood here in sugar land! The service and food were both immaculate! The ladies who assisted us at the front were super helpful and friendly. One talked with us while we waited for our food which didn't take long at all. I got all my favorites- - Green onion pancake - Soupy pan fried pork buns - Pork and cabbage snow flake pot stickers And they were all excellent! So fresh, crispy and savory! I can't recommend this place enough and hope they flourish and continue to do well! Come and visit!

Li's Potstickers is a new dumpling restaurant that replaces Fen. They are currently in their soft opening phase. I had difficulty looking for the restaurant as their restaurant sign has not been put up yet. The restaurant is located beside Coco's by the way. The restaurant is small and clean. I love the clean decor and the colors in the restaurant. I came for the pork xiao long bao so of course I had to try that. The wrapper to filling ratio for the xiao long bao was good. The wrapper was thin too, and there was a good amount of soup in each xiao long bao. However the xiao long bao lacked in flavor and depth in the soup. Ginger wasn't served with the xiao long bao which was unusual. I also had the pork and shrimp snow flake pot stickers. Same as the xiao long bao, the filling in the pot stickers lacked flavor. The pot stickers were also swimming in oil when served to me. That didn't look appetizing. I had the hot noodles with sesame paste which had no meat in it. It was ok. The color of the noodles looked very different from the poster's. I ended my meal with sweet sesame balls. They had red bean filling in them, my favorite. They tasted frozen store bought instead of homemade. Overall I am disappointed with the food flavor.

I stopped by on a Saturday for lunch and there was no wait and a few customers dining in. I got their snowflake dumplings which was very good and their fried bao was also very flavorful. The pork intestine wasn't bad either. It's a mom and pop place and it did not disappoint. They always came by to check on us and refilled our water. It's a great place to eat at if you crave dumplings!!

out of all the dumpling houses in sugar land, this is undoubtedly my favorite. im gonna preface by saying that i dont even like dumplings, potstickers, buns, etc., but lo and behold, i devoured everything we ordered. the xiao long baos were SOO incredibly tender, the skin having just the right amount of thickness, the broth packed with umami. their potstickers were amazing too, crispy but not oily, the filling just as juicy and flavorful. however, what blew me away were the pan fried buns AHHHH. the dough on the top was so fluffy like cloud bread! the generous pork filling was once again so soft and juicy, and there was a considerable amount of soup in the bun. then you get to the bottom of the bun, which is so perfectly crispy. you get the fluffy top, the savory filling, and the crunchy bottom all in one heavenly bite! its truly impressive how they manage to balance everything, but i thoroughly enjoyed this meal and never thought i would love this kind of cuisine so much.

I came here for the first time with my mother-in-law and husband after I saw that Fen was no longer there. The restaurant reuses the same interior as Fen, including many of the same interior posters as Fen with the Fen logo. The service was pretty good. The restaurant now features full table service, while previous management required customers to order at a kiosk or online via the Chowbus system. The waitress came by frequently to refill water, as well. The biggest downside was the lack of physical menus. Given that Sugar Land has an older Asian community of retirees, solely relying on the QR-code based menu was frustrating for my mother-in-law, and the Chowbus platform for the menu isn't particularly user friendly (excruciatingly small lettering when looking at the digital menu). Some of the original menu items have been retained from Fen, although they're using different (and better recipes) than the previous owners. Additionally, the menu has been substantially expanded to focus heavily on soup dumplings, boiled dumplings, and potstickers, as well as common Taiwanese appetizers such as beef wraps and green onion pancakes. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the food. We ordered a dry pork noodle dish, xiao long bao, potstickers, beef wraps, and green onion pancakes. The green onion pancakes were fairly typical and weren't particularly flaky or fresh-feeling. The noodle dish was substantially better than when the restaurant was Fen, although it wasn't really my cup of tea. However, the xiao long bao and potstickers were incredibly flavorful and juicy without being overpowering or MSG-packed. I also enjoyed the beef wrap, although it would have benefited from some picked mustard greens and more of the lettuce stem for extra crunch. Overall, I would still probably come back. We all enjoyed the food and felt the portion sizes were reasonable for the price.

We ordered two of the sweet & sour ribs. Always goes so well with rice. The shrimp were exceptional - big, pump, tender and full of flavor! The only issue was the amount of oil used, even after we asked for less oil. I guess they need lots of oil to make Sichuan dishes. Very heavy handed with salt even though the person in my party that placed the order specifically told the waitress to tone down on the salt. We also asked for no MSG but they turned to sugar instead so the dishes were a little altered beyond recognition. Specifically, I ordered their Szechuan peppercorn beef. As far as I know, this dish is always all savory and there should not be any sweetness. But, when I took the first bite, it was mildly sweet. Weird! Looks like for the rest of the dishes that has sauce, they used the same dark colored sauce; so, they tasted the same. Not a lot of imagination and creativity in their cooking. SERVICE: They are quite attentive in this area. So, I would give them 4 out of 5 stars in this area. VERDICT: Would I return? Probably not. When it comes to Chinese foods, the dishes need to be superior in their taste. You really need to have skills to survive as a Chinese restaurant.

Food - I will say that the dim sum here is legit Hong Kong style dim sum. This is delicious and not greasy. I really like their CHA-SIU-BAO (BBQ Pork Buns), HA-GAO (shrimp dumplings), SIU-MEI (Pork and Shrimp dumplings), and Egg Tarts. Because it was our first time there, we wanted to try out their roast duck. It is also very authentically made. There are definitely other dishes that were good too, but these were the few worth mentioning. 5. Cleanliness - Dining area appears clean. SUMMARY - I recommend this place and will likely return for more dim sum in the future.

I've tried the Galleria location as well, but this review is strictly for Sugar Land--and it definitely has its own vibe. What keeps me coming back are two key things that make this my overall favorite Chinese restaurant and earn them five stars every time: their General Tso's Chicken is made with white meat, and they serve chicken egg rolls. That combination is harder to find than you'd think, and they execute both perfectly. The food is consistently excellent. The chicken fried rice deserves special mention--when you order it, be prepared for a massive portion. It comes piled high on the plate in a huge, rounded mound, and it's very good. You absolutely get your money's worth here. As for the ambiance, it's much more no-frills than the Galleria location. The dining area is small, with seating lined up and an almost direct view into the kitchen. The staff usually consists of a cook and a female cashier who also acts as the server. She's efficient, focused, and pretty much all business--no small talk, but the service gets the job done. If you're looking for fancy, this isn't it. But if you want great portions, solid flavors, and a reliable neighborhood Chinese spot, Chang's in Sugar Land delivers every time.

I remember their generous portions and great variety of dishes served during that event. Since I was in the neighborhood during my dinner time in Sugarland, I decided to swing by before the restaurant closes for the night. I wanted to try Hawaiian Chicken that I saw the menu online. I was thinking about featuring it at my party. I was quite disappointed with the flavors. It's just like a sweet and sour chicken with chili sauce and tossed in pineapple chunks. But when I tried Manchuria Fried Rice... OMG, it was very flavorful and with a kick of spiciness. The savory ingredients were ginger, garlic, onion, cilantro and soy sauce. I almost finished a whole plate. I normally don't order fried rice at Chinese restaurants but this is a must try. The service was excellent. Considering being last few customers right before their closing time. I was grateful for their patience for me to finish my meal.

Alings has its own parking lot. Inside it is an attractive restaurant. Its centerpiece is an attractive multi color light fixture over the main dining room. It has an upscale feel to it. I ordered from the lunch menu and started with a cup of sweet corn soup with an entree of garlic chicken with fried rice for $14. The soup arrived first and it was delicious. I think that was my first time to try sweet corn soup and it was pleasurable (4). I wanted more of it. The entree arrived about 10 minutes later. The plate had the garlic chicken on it along with fried rice and an egg roll to boot. This entree was good tasting and I mixed the remaining garlic sauce with the rice to improve the rice taste as it was sort of bland to me. I liked this entree and rated it a 3. Our table service was very good. While I give a 3 score here, I would be happy to return to try another dish.
